Very sllllloooowwww speeds from my infinity

Should I be getting better than 0.71 Mps download and 0.67 Mps upload?
I encounter slow page loading and buffering on even the smallest of video streams.

How are you testing?
What site? Wired or Wireless? Have you disabled your firewalls?
What is your speed estimation?

  • Slow infinity speeds from PM till Am

Hi im new to these forums but i am at my wits end with the slow speed on bt infinity option 2 i have been getting around 80mb for the last few months since i joined however at around PM every day my speed is dropping as low as 700kbs i am now back to the days where i cant stram without it buffering or if 2 people in my house are on at the same time it means 1 will have to come off the net WHAT IS HAPPENING? I am wired by Ethernet into my hub into my infinity box. This has just been happening in the last month or so bt are supposed to be looking into it but they don't seem very quick at it i am roughly 75 yards if that to the exchange that i am connected to......no virus no malware no spyware even when the laptop goes in on the Ethernet its the same result(on my desktop ) no fault on the line however my next door neighbour and my friend across the street have the same problem(all with bt infinity) yet my othe friend on the street who is with sky (not fibre) is getting faster speeds than me and my neighbours i am paying £55 per month for a service that isn't working should i be able to get my bill reduced or the service fixed?failing that woul bt release me from my contract as they are not honouring their obligation to supply me with fibre speeds? and my ping omg normally 20 now 200ms or 300ms this is unacceptable as i am typing this my last speed test on the bt wholesale site is 2.3 mb its not just me bt its loads of people in different areas the problem is at your end CHECK YOUR FORUMS!!!! rant over what are they doing about this? and when is it going to be sorted?

mine is 79mbs dwnld 17 mbs upload 18 ms ping

  • Good speed from exchange, VERY slow at home

I've been getting a very poor speed since about thursday last week, I've run the speed test and get 24.4MB/s from the exchange, yet from my hub I'm only getting 0.65MB/s, bt say they've fixed a problem in my area on one page, then tell me there's a problem on another, I use a wired connection, so there shouldn't be anything stopping me from getting my full speed, is there actually a problem in the Bridgwater area/01278 area code? If not how can I fix this?
    Thanks

  • Error 200141 when trying to measure motor encoder's speed from PCI 6221 card,

    Hi,
I was trying to measure angular speed of a motor from its encoder signal. I'm using Ctr pin from PCI 6221 card take signals from the encoders. The problem comes when I've got an Error-200141 saying "data was overwritten before it could be read". I have tried a few ways as follows to overcome this problem.
         - Use DMA
         - Get rid of the noise from the signal by shielding the wire from encoder to DAQ card and using a capacitor.
None of those seemed to solve the problem completely. Even though the noise from the signal was removed, I could still see the mechanical glitter at the edge of all the pulses from the oscilloscope. Is that a possible cause of this problem (my technician told me we can do nothing with this glitter. In other words, we can't remove it)?
Please suggest me how to solve this Error-200141. With this message, I have also attached VI.
            Thank you very much.

    Meas Dig Period-Buffered-Continuous-Low Freq 1 Ctr_Angular speed from encoder.vi ‏72 KB

    Hi Suksun,
Only had a quick glance at your code, but can you drop the samples to read to 100.
I think what the problem is from what I can make of your code, is that
you have a low frequency counter, that you measure on the rising edge,
however if you don't get a 1000 pulses within 100 seconds, DAQmx will
report an error. So by lowering the number of samples to read you
should be able to get 100 samples in 100 seconds, you should not
overwrite data as the buffer will be sized correctly.
    Hope this help

  • Switching from BT Infinity 2 Unlimited. Worth it? Is Sky Fibre Pro still available?

Hi all I'm currently on BT Infinity 2 Ulimited, but I've become less than satisfied with the speed on my line. I know the line is capable of around 60MB/s as that is what the tests were indicating when the engineer was round to install the service. However it has slowly deteriorated over time and now sits at just over 40MB/s. BT are beyond useless and will not accept that this is an issue, let alone try and fix it. Has anybody recently switched from BT Infinity to Sky Fibre? How is the upgrade process? And has this generally improved or worsened your speeds? Lastly, I can't for the life of me find this Sky Fibre Pro (up to 80MB/s) service on the Sky website anyway. Google results seem to take me to 404 pages. Is Pro still available, and if so where do I order it? If all Sky offer is an "up to" 38MB/s service, then I won't be switching. I have no desire to make my speeds worse still. Thanks a lot.Ryan

First thing to remember is that Sky Fibre will still use the same cabinets and cables to get to your house, so changing provider will not necessarily make any difference, although the physical moving of the cables may make things better, but may also make things worse.
Deterioration is an unfortunate side effect of more and more people using fibre and the crosstalk between cables.
Sky Fibre Pro is still available but you can't sign up online, only by calling Sky.

  • IMac CPU fan on full speed from start up

    Hi,
For about 3 months now I've had a problem with my iMac where the CPU fan runs at full speed from start up, until I turn it off. It is extremley noisy and frustating.
I am pulling my hair out trying to fix it.
So far I have reset the SMC and PRAM and downloaded fan controllers. I've also opened it up and checked the sensors and cleaned out all of the dust, but this annoying problem still persists.
Is there anything else I could try that could fix this problem?
    Thank you very much.

    Thank you
I have tried to run the AHT many times, but for some reason I can't get it to work. I even tried booting it from the insitallation disk which someone else suggested.
I'm not sure where to go from here

Many times my computer takes too long to connect to new website. I have wireless internet (time capsule) and I am running a pretty powerful real time financial work program at same time, what is the best solution? Upgrading speed from cable network? is it a hard drive issue? do I only need to "clean out" the computer? Or all of the above...not to computer saavy.  It is a Macbook Pro  osx 10.6.8 (late 2010).

Almost certainly none of the above!  Try each of the following in this order:
Select 'Reset Safari' from the Safari menu.
Close down Safari;  move <home>/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db to the trash; restart Safari.
Change the DNS servers in your network settings to use the OpenDNS servers: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220
Turn off DNS pre-fetching by entering the following command in Terminal and restarting Safari:
defaults write com.apple.safari WebKitDNSPrefetchingEnabled -boolean false

  • How To Transfer MP3 Music Files At A 96kb speed, From A CD To A Zen Mic

I have a couple of CDs with MP3 music files on them. One problem is that the music is recorded at various speeds from 28 to 320kbs. I know of to transfer the files over, but I can't seem to lower the speed down to 96kb. I want to know if it is possible to change the recording speed to 96kb when transferring MP3 files from a CD source? Thanx

You can of course use one of a number of MP3 converters to change the track quality e.g. Creative's MediaSource converter. Be aware that dropping the bit-rate isn't the best approach, it's better to encode from the original CD.
And as others have said, I would strongly recommend staying at 28kbit/s for MP3 (using LAME) or at least listen to a test track or two before encoding the lot.

Had you never backed up the phone before? When you saw the iTunes logo and cable, the device was in recovery mode. The data was already lost. The only way to recover from that is to restore the device, which will delete all of your data. You will only be able to restore to your last backup, whenever that was. Sorry this happened, but this highlights the importance of doing regular backups. The backup is the only protection you have against a problem like this.

  • Podcast how to change speed from 1.5x to 1x speed without having to go through 2x, 3x etc?

Podcast how to change speed from 1.5x to 1x speed without having to go through 2x, 3x etc?

    Whereas I need to be
able to go from disc 1/track 1 to disc 1/track 2,
instead the iPod goes from disc 1/track 1 to disc
    2/track 1.
Right click on any of these files and do a Get Info. Notice that there is, in fact, a Disc number field. So you can make disc numbers 1/10, 2/10 and so on.
iTunes and the iPod are both smart enough to recognize that there are disc numbers there and act correctly. So it'll start with Disc 1, play all that disc, then go to Disc 2, and so forth. It's just a matter of having correct disc number tags.
You can tag disc numbers for a whole disc at once. Simply select all the songs in a single disc (hold SHIFT or CTRL while selecting the songs), right click, Get Info, and you get the mass tag editor screen. Add the disc number info for this disc, and it'll tag that info to all those songs. Repeat for each disc.

We currently have a test WiFi SSID setup that uses basic mac filtering on our WLC's
WLAN is configured with WPA and WPA2 L2 Security with WPA Policy and WPA2 Encryption.
For some reason we seem to be getting very slow speeds on clients with 2.4GHZ
for example speedtest.net I get 70mg upload and 65mg download on 5GHZ devices and about 1-3mg download and 1mg upload for 2.4GZ devices!
    AP36021 are dual band with 4 channels (2 x 2.4Ghz and 2 x 5Ghz)
fyi - There are no dropped packets on the client stats via Prime mgmt that use 2.4GHZ
    Any ideas here?
