VERY slow iPad charging

In the past, (1 month ago,) it only took at least 1 hour for my iPad to finish charging. Now, it took ages (unknown) for it to charge:
Now (at time of post), Battery percentage is 25%. ----(1 hour)--> Battery percentage remains at 25%

it only took at least 1 hour
"Only" took "at least"?
Now, it took ages
So it still takes at least 1 hour.

  • IPad 2  has become very slow when charging

Since I upgraded to ios 7, my iPad 2  has become very slow when charging. And the battery drained very fast. I cannot put it on standby but need to power off completely when I am not using it. This is very troublesome.

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
    Then restart the iPad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, then swipe the slider to power off.
Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Then try charging the battery.

  • IPad Air 2 very slow when charging with iPad Mini Charger

I just realized that my iPad Air 2 gets unusably slow (lag when scrolling and typing) when I use the 10W charger of an 1st generation iPad Mini instead of the also 10W (sic!) charger included with my Air 2.
Anyone else having this problem? What does lead to this problem?
I've already resetted my Air 2, but it didn't change anything.

Use the charger and cable that came with the device to charge it.
The first gen iPad mini came with the 5 watt charger and not the 10 watt. The 10 watt chargers come with the mini Retina (now called the mini 2) and mini 3.
    ID your chargers here: https://www.apple.com/power-adapters/
That being said about the charger wattage, I see no reason why the Air 2 would react in the way you describe. My Air 2 simply says "Not Charging" when I use a 5 watt charger with it (which I do not normally do) but does not react any differently as you describe.
If at all possible, I would make a Genius Bar reservation at your nearby Apple Store and take the whole lot of devices, chargers and cables in to have them evaluated & to possibly get to the root of the problem. It may be that the mini's charger is defective in some way and causes the Air 2 to react the way it does. I really doubt it's due to the wattage difference.

  • Not recognized by windows- very slow to charge

The other day my iphone 4 all the sudden couldnt connect to the computer via usb.
    - the closest thing to recognition it in "device manager" it thinks its an mass storage device with no found driver
-I have tried varous cords and docks, but the battery charging icon does not appear
    - if i leave it over night connected to the computer, it does have a full charge my morning (so far)
    - i reinstalled itunes and I would assume drivers- but the apple mobile device isnt even listed in device manager and itunes does not see it
I guess I havent tried to reset the phone or recover or whatever the original settings. Could it be a faulty dock connector on the phone?

Wow! Thanks for the help. This forum's awsome!...any way I guess I figured it out myself. Seems that a new dock connector did the trick!

  • Is anyone having trouble with recharging battery on ipad4? It does charge but is very slow

I have a new iPad and it seems to be very slow in charging the battery eg 1 hour for 10% of charge.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem or am I doing something wrong?

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • IPad Air - slow to charge

    Hi
We are having issues with our iPad air being very slow to charge. We use the charger that came with it but it is very slow, even slower than our original iPad.  Is this an issue others are experiencing?

Are you sure it's the 12W Ipad charger and not a 5W iPhone charger?
Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
• Very slow music player on iPad

Very very slow iPad music player on iPad? I see loads of questions on this but no answers. Have switched off music match and really anything that could be causing the delay. Currently trying to reset the iPad device but if there are any quick answers out there, please let me know. Have a very large music collection but willing to only use subset on iPad if required (anything to get the performance back to normal). Thanks.....

Mediocrity represents your opinion, which will get its due weight. As for apps that cost $, well ..... professionals would actually expect to have to pay for their tools. Why we even have all sorts of tax laws set up which will encourange you to do just that.

  • AIR is SLOW TO CHARGE?

My air is very slow to charge (it takes days to charge). The apple store check the battery and said it was fine. Any suggestions?

Apple store could not find anything wrong with the power system?
That makes this question hard to answer.
    Try a different outlet.
    Try a new charger.

  • Ipad Mini Charging Very Slow

    ***NEW PROBLEM***
My Ipad Mini (which I got in December) is now charging super slow (which I mean that's taken 3 hours or more) to get from 82% to 97% usually it takes like 1 hour depending on how low it is.
NOw this is very frusting considering how much the ipad was (I got it for a christmas present) but I know how much it was. This is ridicously every since the new update to IOS 6.1.2
THIS IS NOT COOL. If this is how apple is going to run, I will never purchese anything from Apple again.
    Get your act together.
    Sinceraly:
    Upset Apple Custmer.

Try doing a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys, past the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. See if that helps. If not, make an appointment at your local apple store and have them take a look.
Also, was that other charger an iPad charger? it's easy to try to use iPhone chargers with ipads, and while they do kinda work, they do not totally work since the iPad wants twice as much power as the iPhone charger puts out.
it will always be slow to charge on a computer. Your average USB puts out half as much power as the iPad wants.
Also, if you have a different cord, try swapping that out as well.
If an iPad wont' charge it's usually one of 4 things. Bad outlet, bad cable, bad power brick.
Swap those out and either confirm or rule then out, and it leaves the port on your iPad. And if it's that then it's time to take your device to the apple store and have them check it out.

  • TS3274 My ipad 2 charges very, very slow. It was on the charger for 7 hours and went from 41% charged to 77% charged.

My ipad 2 is charging very, very slow. Is was on the charger for 7 hours and went from 41% to 77%. I have tried several different charger, even purchased a new charger. What could the problem be?

Could be your battery needs replacing.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • My ipad 2 charging very slow

My ipad2 very slow charging when it plug in it say "not charging" but it charge very slowly

Are you charging it plugged into the wall with its charger or plugged into USB?
If plugged into the wall, are you using an iPad charger or could you be using an iPhone charger? They are different strengths and using an iPhone charger will show up as not charging. The same with USB. Most USB ports don't put out enough power for the iPad so it trickle charges

  • My ipad is working very slow touch screen is not wokring perfectly and apps keep switching off when i play

    IPad Mini, 64GB, IOS 8.1.
My IPad is working very slow.
The touch screen is not working as good.
Many problems when i play a game ( Real Racing 3) keeps on turning off when i play.
    Camera is also blurry.
    Screen sometimes goes blank.

    Try these basic troubleshooting steps.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
Now close all apps. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If those three things made no difference, try this. Reset all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.
If all of that fails, restore the iOS software. Backup your iPad before you restore, then restore the backup when you are done. If that still doesn't help, restore your iPad as new and start all over again. Most purchased content can be downloaded again at no charge as long as you use the same Apple ID and as long as the content is still available in the store.

  • Ipad charging slow on ios 7

Upgraded to IOS 7 o my iPad (ver 3 retina).  I charges very slow.  Does not charge at all while being used.  Just sticks. Have to close cover and stop using it.  Taking far longer than it did before upgrade.  approx 15 minutes per 1 percent added.

Using the power supply supplied by Apple in original purchase.
I noticed something amis as I was using the iPad while connected to this powersupply and the battery charge indicator stuck un-moving at 13% while using it. Normally I see it increase even while using.
Started at 13% and after five hours it was only 57%. Went to bed.  Got to 100% overnight.
The only thing changed was moving to IOS 7.
    I'll monitor,

  • IPad air is slow to charge the battery

My new iPad air is slow to charge the Battery? I am comparing it to an ipad2

    Try a different cable
Use the power adapter/charger that came with the device
Don't charge from a PC's USB ports as they likely do not supply enough current to adequately charge the iPad. Charging will be slow.
Don't use an iPhone's charger to charge the iPad. It's not recommended as it does not supply enough current and will charge *very* slowly.
Try to clean out the 30-pin/Lightning port on the device using a clean toothbrush (or similar) & blow it out. There may be dust/lint preventing proper electrical connection. The older 30-pin port is much more prone to dust & lint getting inside and it's internal conductors are very small. Clean the port out thoroughly and also the 30-pin connector on the cable.
