Very slow itunes match

Hi,
Since i signed up to itunes match i experience very slow results, even on wifi and i have a 50 mbps connection.
Downloading songs from the cloud to my ipad or iphone is extremely slow, streaming numbers the same.
I am livinig in the Netherlands, not sure if this something has to do to which server i connect.
Tried already to switch itunes match on and off and to reset my network connections.
Appreciate if someone can assist.
Rgds Bernard

I have countless albums that are in fact available in the itunes store and they are still intollerably slow to download, even over a decent wifi connection at 50mb/s max ... my internet is just fine and I'm still having issues with receiving my content from apple's servers. I personally don't think it's an "it's not availble in our archive there for it's not as accesable/fast to retreive" issue.. it's that their server is pathically slow and probaly overloaded with people that paid 25 bucks to store their library in the cloud and are now spending way too long trouble shooting multiple issues.  I for one am taking the upgraded "matched" files and walking. this is the most dissapointing service/product they've come up with.
I spent more time then I'd like to admit manually converting tracks (quite a few that should have matched, some not) in order to even upload compressed AAC 256 content, then tricking itunes into replacing said uploads with my higher quality files locally.. everythiing works well on my desktop and I can delete and redownload my content at the compressed quality and even upgrade certain things, but the service on my mobile devices are thus far usless... lame.

  • Very slow iTunes 11.02

    Hello,
iTunes 11.02 on Mac is very slow loading tracks, it's taking seconds to switch between every track.
I tried disabling " Organize my library " and unchecked " search entire library " but no luck.
    My system is clean.
I have 7200 track in my Library on an external HDD connected to Exterme Airport. I never had such issue with older version of iTunes.
It's not related to wireless transfer since it's running very fast on Windows Media Player under Bootcamp. Switching between tracks is gapless.
Anyone kind enough to advise ?
    Thanks !

    First try this fixit:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
If that doesn't work you may need the the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility
Unfortunately the Microsoft Installer Cleanup utility has been withdrawn by Microsoft because of compatibility issues with Microsoft Office so you will need to find a copy elsewhere – the installer is msicuu2.exe. You need version 3.
    Google  msicuu2.exe download
MajorGeeks in the above search has a copy of version 3
Check for malware before installing it.
Download a fresh copy of iTunes
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Save the file on your PC.
Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
    XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Vista/Windows 7
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
*If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry*, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
    Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
If you get  permission denied error, Try Run as Administrator – an option if you right click on the program.
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did *not* uninstall, look out for entries that start All Users that are blank entries or have numeric entries that look like version numbers
restart your PC and try installing iTunes
If you want Quicktime you can download it here

  • Very slow iTunes

When I connect my 2G shuffle to my computer (PC), iTunes acts very slow. If I try to mark a song, it takes many seconds before i actually get marked. This did not happen when using my old shuffle or when my 2g shuffle is disconnected.
    I have updated the shuffle
    Any tips?

    sindretorp,
Do you have the "Convert songs of higher bit rate to 128kbps AAC" selected?
If so conversion could be using a lot of resources as it goes to load songs to the iPod Shuffle (Second Generation).

  • Very slow itunes activity.

my iTunes is very slow. When I try to transfer songs to my IPod it takes longer to do so than usual. I can't access ITunes stores as well; for connecting to it takes forever and I do not get anything in the end. It takes longer to actually transfer songs to my iPod. I do not know what is going on. What should I do?

  • Very simple iTunes match question

So if I physically unsync my music from my iPad can I still listen to it on said iPad through the cloud as long as I have an Internet connection? (I obviously have an iTunes match account)

Don't have an iPad but that's what I've done on my MacBook.  Better yet, items that I forgot about getting through iTunes years ago are fully accesible without adding any bits to my cramped hard drive.  And they all play happily through Apple TV, pumped through the stereo.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to track my recently played items that are recently played through the cloud. I have a lot of new music that I'm playing at random though Apple TV and I'd like to make notes of the highlights.

  • Very slow iTunes download to Windows 7

I've got a brand new Windows 7 32 bit computer that runs just great, but the downloading free podcasts thru the iTunes store takes forever -- like 10 minutes for a 20 minute podcast. The first few run fine, but then, it gets slower and slower and slower, so that eventually, they all "time out." I use Norton AntiVirus.
    What's going on here?

are you using WiFi? if so then the signal strength might be low.

  • Flaging podcasts as played VERY VERY VERY SLOW (iTunes 7.2.2)

Just to say that I noticed that flaging podcasts as played (or unplayed) in the podcast windows slows down the application drastically (and also fills the system hard disk with temp files somewhere.
I happend to me to even freeze the system by applying a flag on a large number of podcasts at once (several hundreds)
Did anybody notice the same bug?
Doing the same from a playlist doesn't make any problem. (so, I presently flag my podcasts using a smart playlist that lists all podcasts)
This bug seems to be new to version 7.2.n (there was no problem until the last 7.1.n version)
I just hope this bug will be fixed very soon.

hmmmm. what security software are you running on the PC?

  • Very slow iTunes Music Store performance

Since upgrading to the latest version of iTunes, whenever I try to access the Music Store I see the progress bar with the "accessing music store" message for 5-10 minutes. It eventually loads but then then trying to navigate within the store is just as slow. The other interesting thing is that content on Apple.com that's related to iTunes Music Store (like banner ads, promo content, etc.) is not loading either or might load after 2 or 3 minutes. And it's not a bandwidth thing. I have fiber optic service. Any ideas?

Must have been an ITMS server problem at Apple. Everything is smokin' now.

  • Very slow itunes sync

Latest sync with itunes taking hours.  Was ok up till now?

  • Very slow iTunes download speeds

I've been having slow download speeds in iTunes for a while now. Downloading a 1 hour TV Show used to take 1 hour or so. Now it's taking 11 hours. Xfinity speed tests say I'm getting 28 mb/s downloads.
    Some info:
    iTunes 10.6 for Windows
Apple Air Extreme - the pc is hard wired to the router
    Comcast as ISP
    Using my ISP's DNS servers

I have a 50x5 Mbit cable business class modem, from Time Warner, in my house (doing that give me priority bandwidth over other residences).... Also as a business class there's no data caps or port blockings.  The most I EVER get from the iTunes Store is 4-5MBytes/sec (about 35 Mbits)... Usually I get 1-2 MBytes/sec to iTunes or any device
    My guesses are
    1) Apple just doesn't have the bandwidth during certain times
    2) I notice they throttle accounts. If I download an entire hd season, I start out fast, then it slows after a few hrs... Im guessing apple has a max data cap per day then slows you down.
    3) I also don't think Apple is capable of handling all the new 35-50Mbit connections that are now readily available from the big cable companies.

  • Very slow iTunes in Vista - help!!

My iTunes in extremely slow on vista - any suggestions??

Make sure you have the most current version (7.1.1). Also make sure that your computer isn't getting bogged down by other applications. By default, vista loads the most commonly used applications into RAM to make them "load faster" but this can cause slowdown in machines with less RAM. If you think that might be the problem, check microsoft's site for information on how to reduce the amount of memory vista is using by default.

  • Very slow iTunes 11

Since a week or so, I noticed that iTunes 11 was extremely slow. I have uninstalled/reinstalled and this makes no difference. I went back to using iTunes 10 and that didn't help either. I have now completely reinstalled Windows XP and still iTunes 11 is slow beyond belief. It can take several minutes before going through the menus, music will play but you will not see the progress bar move that much - general navigation is pretty difficult.
    Any ideas? I am using
    iTunes 11
F-Secure Internet Security 2013 (even removing this doesn't change things)
    Windows XP SP3
    Thank you

    Hi Deng13,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The steps in this article can help if you've noticed iTunes becoming unresponsive after updating:
    Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any inference with plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down the Shift and Control keys while opening iTunes. If performed correctly, you should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
After clicking Continue, determine whether the issue you were experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you see the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the Create a New User Account section below. If you do not experience the same issue, consult iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins for steps on how to remove third-party plug-ins.

  • ITunes+Windows 7= Very Slow Music Sync

As above. Everything is perfect, but when i want to sync my music with my iphone 4 or with my ipad it takes forever. Any suggestions ?

I have very slow itunes since SP1, but have found a remarkably easy work round.  Start itunes, start what you want to do - like sync to ipod et al, then just click the windows 'show desktop icon' and itunes does the stuff properly!
    I have win 7 SP1 2gb 2Ghz AMD

  • ITunes Match used on 2 Users on same Mac

I am using since the beginning very successful iTunes Match with several devices like Mac Mini, iPhone(s), MacBook Air, etc.! Everything works fine.
Now my kids are getting older and I like them to use my MacBook Air more independently. Therefore I setup a new user for the children ("Children") with some limitations (like web pages to be viewed, etc.).
    Now my challenge:
    - with my main user on that MacBook Air, I am already linked to iTunes Match and everything works fine
    - as I currently have only 4 devises linked to iTunes Match, my plan was to link the new, second user ("Children") of the MacBook Air to iTunes Match, too.
Unforuntately this does not seem to work. Everytime I want to activate this "User", it tells me, that this "Computer" is already linked to iTunes Match.... what in general is correct, but I want now to sync my music library to this second user account, too.
    Any ideas?

Hmm... this is a bit technical,
Try posting in the iTunes Match forum, you'll probably find more knowledgeable folks there.

  • ITunes Match downloads very slow over LTE

Hi, I have an iPhone 5 on iOS 6.1.4. When downloading iTunes Match songs to my phone it is very slow over LTE taking roughly 1 minute per megabyte. Over wifi it is a lot faster taking perhaps less than 20 seconds per track on average. All other data based activity is fast over LTE so the issue does seem to be limited to iTunes Match downloads and is the same whether my music was matched or uploaded to to icloud.
Any fixes/suggestions much appreciated. I have a brand new handset and restored my phone yesterday. I'm on the EE network in London.
    Thank you

    Hello there Caliente78,
Here is some info about troubleshooting the cellular data connection.
iPhone: Troubleshooting a cellular data connection
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3780
Follow the instructions below for assistance with troubleshooting cellular data issues on your iPhone. After performing each step, please test to see if the issue is resolved.
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings, turn airplane mode on, wait three seconds, and then turn off again.
    Restart your iPhone.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a Carrier Settings Update. Tap Settings > General > About.
Check for an iOS Software Update. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
Remove the SIM Card and reinsert it. Allow the iPhone to acquire the network again.
If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try toggling it off: Tap Settings > Phone > SIM PIN.
Try another location. If a different location works, but the original location still does not, contact your carrier to report the issue.
Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    Restore the iPhone as new.
    Contact your carrier to:
Verify that the iPhone is properly set up on the account with the appropriate, current data plan.
Verify that there are no account-related blocks.
Find out if there are specific error messages in the carrier logs that could help determine why the issue is occurring.
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, contact your carrier, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, orcontact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.
    All the best,
    Sterling
