Very slow render times....I think

So I'm running an 08 aluminum (non unibody) macbook pro. 2.2ghz 4GB ram, 500GB 5400 RPM HDD (my 7200 momentus XT failed). I'm rendering about 1:30 of video with two filters of magic bullet looks, and one filter of Marcalli. Its HD video, 1440x1080 from my Sony A33. The videos take almost an HOUR to render that minute and a half or so, is this normal? I can't figure out why everything si so damn slow. I'm a photographer by trade so I'm used to faster renderings, but this seems a bit excessive.
HELP

That sounds about normal.
90 seconds time-line rendering in 60 minutes. Your system is at least 30 times slower than a fast system, so, yes, it sounds about right.
On a fast system this would translate to 90 seconds in around 2 minutes. If your system is 60 x slower, then it would mean 1 minute on a fast system.
Nothing to worry about, Nothing seems out of the ordinary, just a slow system, that's all.

  • SAP SNC Portal DCM screen performance is very slow and times out

    Friends,
SAP SNC Portal DCM screen performance is very slow and times out when user trying to pull data using customer location
What are the cleanup activites we can do to improve the overall SNC performance ?
We did open OSS message but so far no reply from SAP , Is there any one faced performance issue ?
User/vendor is complaining about slowness , query is standard SAP and its taking more time  .(table - /LIME/NTREE) , It looks like number of data are huge causing this problem related to LIME/NTREE table. What are the options to improve the performance ?
    Thanks in Advance
    Hanuman Choudhary

    hi Team,
Pls . note the advise from SAP below, IS there any have experiance of archiveing /LIME records ?
Please advise how to start & what the steps in archiving ?
    Thanks in advance
I had a look at the DCM query performance in PH1 system and figured out
that most of the time is spent at the LIME layer of database. The
following LIME tables are having far too many entries and is causing
the bottleneck during the query execution.
    /LIME/NLOG_QUAN - 38,165,467
    /LIME/PN_ITEM - 19,116,518
    /LIME/PN_ITEM_TB - 19,154,124
These tables are storing the historical information about LIME(stock)
updates. Since these table grow with each change/update of stock
information, it will slow down the performance of the system over a
period of time. And to avoid the slow responses, the tables should
ideally be archived on a periodic basis to keep the data volume as
minimal as possible. You may have to discuss with the Business to
determine the number of days of LIME record you would want to retain
in the system. I would strongly recommend you to consider the LIME
archival retaining the minimum days (<=60 days) of historical
information. You can find more information about the Lime Archival
    in the Sap Help link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm2007/helpdata/en/44/2a83121dde23d1e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm.
Kindly get in touch with your BASIS consultant for the LIME archival.
The application performance should definitely improve after the LIME
archival. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me in case you
require any further clarification in this regards.
    Best Regards

I have an Iphone 4 with IOS 6 and my emails have disappeared.  I also have a very slow reaction time to my touch screen. Help!

    Hello there, parihargs1.
To troubleshoot display brightness issues the following article provides 2 key steps:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
    Of note is the following:
Display has no backlight or dark screen
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.
Display does not adjust brightness automatically
The ambient light sensor brightens the display when using the iPhone in brightly lit environments, and dims the display in low light. To test this sensor, do the following:
If the iPhone is in a protective case, remove it from the case. If there is a protective film on the display, remove the film.
Verify that the Auto-Brightness setting (Settings > Brightness and Wallpaper) is set to ON, and that the Brightness level is set near the middle of the slider.
Press the Home button to return to the Home screen and then press the Sleep/Wake button to lock the iPhone.
In a bright environment, cover the top third of the iPhone to block the light, then press the Sleep/Wake button or the Home button to wake the phone. Slide the slider to unlock the phone.
Notice the brightness of the screen and application icons; they should be somewhat dimmed.
Remove the cover from the top of the display and in a few moments the display should get brighter.
If these steps do not resolve your issue please refer to the "Issue not resolved" section for your next step.
Thansk for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro D.

  • Slow render times with large jpegs - complete system lag

In a project i'm working on I have two large jpegs with a small zoom scaling effect. Going from 100 to 103 percent.
I've noticed that both Adobe Media Encoder and Premiere Pro experience a heavy slow down in render time as soon as the jpegs have to be rendered.
Not only does the render speed almost come to a halt, the complete system lags very heavy, even the mouse cursor won't respond well.
This happens when i have GPU acceleration enabled and when i do a 2 pass H264 encoding.
When I have the GPU acceleration disabled the render goes very smooth, and doesn't seem to slow down...
The jpeg is 4023  x 2677, and 6,97 MB large.
Scaling the jpeg down to about 1920x1080 in Photoshop and put that one in the timeline made the render go a lot faster.
I understand that a large picture takes a bit more time to be rendered, but we're talking about a 10minute render whit the large jpeg file and  a 2 minute render with the jpeg resized.
The total time of the two jpegs in the video is 5 seconds in a 3 minutes video.
So, that made me think that the render times are exponentially long.
In the timeline everything runs really smooth.
Is this considered normal, I can't remember having such big differences in CS5. It's not a major thing, but I wanted to share anyway.
    My system:
    Premiere Pro CC (latest)
    i7 4930K
    32 GB RAM
    2xGTX480
Footage and project on a Raid0 disk
    Previews/Cache on a Raid0 disk
    System and Premiere on SSD
Render to a single 7200 rpm drive.

  • Very slow render on my beast of a machine

Hello, I have an issue whereby my rendering is very slow. I am using premier elements 12 with a windows 8.1 computer that has an 8-core amd 8350 processor, 8 gbs of ram, and I have an AMD 7970 6gb video card crossfired with an AMD 280x video card. Crossfire probably doesnt even work, but even with just the 280x, it should be faster than this.
I capture game footage, which is captured in xvid format, which I then import into PE12. I don't add any effects, other than some color tweaking, and some brightness/contrast tweaking. Then I export it in the same specifications it was captured in (1080p 30fps). A 7 minute video takes about 20 minutes to render/export using MP4 codec. If I try to use other codecs, it takes even longer. On my Mac Pro, using other programs like iMovie, this sake video would take like 2 minutes, and it only has a 4-core processor at a much slower clock speed, and only has a 6870 amd video card, which is like 1/4 the power. I feel that either the 8-cores aren't being used, or something else is wrong. No rendering that doesn't involve complicated effects should take longer to render than the footage length is. If the video is 10 minutes long, it should take 1 minute to render if it doesn't have chroma keying or anything heavy like that. How do I fix this?

Thanks for the tip. Bandicam already works when I choose "motion jpeg", and it works very nicely as far as being able to record in very high quality without disrupting my gaming performance. The issue is that it still takes longet to render a video than the length of the video itself. So a 6 minute clip, for example, will take about 15-20 minutes. This is unacceptable when ther are no major effects going on, such as chromakeying. I should be able to render atleast at speed play (ie, if a video is 2 minutes, it should take no more than 2 minutes), based on performance I get on my lesser Mac with a lesser CPU, lesser video card etc. It may be the rendering settings. I am using the stock "youtube widescreen HD" preset in PE12, and i manually change teh 720p to 1080p (like my footage). What else can I try?
The only thing I can think of is that PE12 doesnt use 8 cpu cores, or it doesnt use OpenCL. Does it? I cannot find any settings in PE12 for "enable multicore processing" or "enable openCL" etc.

  • Slow render time in Premiere Pro CS4 (with fast computer?)

Hello people on the Adobe Forums,
I hope someone can help me with this question, it's been bothering me a long long time now and this week i have to make a decision, or fix the problem and keep this configuration, or spend money for a new cpu (i5 750) and a new motherboard. But i think this computer should do better then it does. I have the following configuration:
    AMD Athlon X2 4600+
    Nvidia GeForce 7800GTX
    2× 1Gb OCZ memory (DDR, PC2400, 250mhz)
    Storage Disks:
    Seagate 320GB SATA (7200, i think)
    WD 74GB SATA (10.000RPM, OS)
    Hitachi 500GB SATA (also 7200, i think)
WD 1TB USB (SATA) (extern hdd)
    WD 250GB SATA (7200, i think)
So, i don't understand the problem, Premiere is running very slow on my computer.. The rendering of a 5min piece of just a random movie takes like 3 hours! Just right now i am rendering some things I filmed with my mobile, it does like 1 frame in 10sec!! On most pc's with this vice versa!
So the cpu is not that old, and neither is the videocard, meaby the memory is a little bit low.. Could that be the problem?
Hope you people can help me out, i searched Google and everywhere but can't find anyone with this problem..
    List of software:
    - Windows 7 Ultimate
    - Adobe Premiere Pro CS4
Drivers are, as far as i know, all up to date, i updated the Adobe programs too..
Describe source material, Codec: XDCAM-EX Movie (mp4)
But like i said, it happens too avi too, it think that was DivX..
I bought this pc second-hand, so it could be that something in the processor is already broken and i didn't notice it at all.. i searched like everywhere and also tried too reinstall the program but that doesn't work either..

Well, I'm helping other people too here on some dutch foras and i hate how people say things like "Doesn't work. Help" and just wait and wait for someone to answer. Plus i want to order my new hardware this evening (10:27pm now here), so meaby that's a 'cause' too, to make you people answer fast! (and it worked! hehe)
So, what i am thinking of right now is to upgrade the motherboard, cpu and ram.. The videocard can wait a little more:
    - Motherboard: MSI P55-GD65 (not sure of this one, good reviews&tests, Asrock P55 Extreme is an option too.. be my guest to do another recommendation) (Asus P7P55D seems like a good option)
    - CPU: Probably an I5 750 from Intel, heard good things about this one.. Although i've always used AMD..
    - RAM: I really don't know, don't see many differences between the RAM sticks.. But yeh: OCZ Gold OCZ3G2000LV4GK
Sorry for no links to product pages, you have to do a little search, i only got some dutch websites, and i know for sure that you all having you're own comparing/specs websites (which i don't know) .
Thank you very much untill now, meaby i get another reply tonight.. Ohye, plans changed, i'm not ordering tonight anymore.. I'll do that tomorrow morning (I'll do a few calls to a view webshops and see if they got in stock, if so, i'm gonna drive (or go with bus) to one of them.. I need it really really quick, need to submit a project from school August 30
    Thanks everyone!
Just took a look at the links you gave me, the Asus P7P55D is an option too!
Took a look at the links, added the "Asus P7P55D".
What i forgot to mention: I got a budget with a max of like €400,- (That's like 510usd, I don't even really have the money) so I can't buy a whole new pc..

  • Very Slow Build Time

    Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone had any advice on what steps I could follow to try and solve a very slow build I have for one of my DVDs I'm making. It has completed 20% and it has been running for about 28 hours.
    Here are my project details:
    - 1 best quality compressor encoded m2v video track (45min length)
    - 1 ac3 audio track
    - 6 menus with motion .motn project files as the background
    - 1 track (hosts the video and audio)
Any ideas on what I could try to solve this slow build I would be very grateful. I haven't had slow build problems with other DVDs before. It is slowly building the DVD, it hasn't crashed, and it is taking up processor power.

    Hi
6 menus with motion .motn project files as the background
These items must be taking all the encoding time. They must be rendered and MPEG2 encoded by DVDSP.
Are they very complex and long animations?
The mpeg2 and ac3 files are already encoded and DVDSP will just mux them in the final files; that don't take so long !!
    Hope that helps !

  • Slow render times in Premiere when linking After Effects media

I'm an Avid Media Composer editor but I just switched to Premiere for a special project that needs to have non-interlaced output. I've been pretty impressed until I integrated an After Effects project into my timeline. My render times have now increased exponentially, despite the fact that the After Effects effects are quite simple - single layers of video with very simple moves. Can anyone else chime in with their experience integrating After Effects projects into Premiere? This just seems too horrible to be true.

I've found that the time to render out of After Effects versus the time to render a Dynamic Link comp in PPro is roughly identical. In fact, in many cases it's a bit quicker.
For heavy duty comps, I'd expect to see PPro struggle a little bit more, but definitely not with the basic work you seem to be talking about.

  • Very slow Charge time for xperia z2

i noticed that charging time for z2 is very slow !! anybody has the same ? any suggestions? i am using the original cable which comes out of the box .

Hi, this could be because it is a new phone/battery......if mine is sitting at say 15% it does take a good few hours to get up to 100%..... Do you leave the phone switched on during charging...if so check what apps etc are using the most power....top of the list should be your screen but look for abnormally high usage from an app etc Hope this helps

  • Slow render time, can anyone help?

I have recently installed some plugins and since it seems that render times are really slow. After every tweak of a filter I'm having to re-render for playback.
I have a one minute clip in the timeline for example, I add a vignette from my Magicbullet Plugin, nothing more and it takes 4 mins to render! My timeline is set to DV-PAL Anamorphic and my video captured as the same.

    Many thanks

Your RT settings don't improve final render times, but they may improve your editing experience by allowing better playback of effects without having to render your timeline. You should experiment with the settings in the sequence to see what works best for your particular setting. Generally, if you choose Unlimited RT you'll get more real time playback, and therefore won't have to render as often while editing. But you'll likely experience more dropped frames during your sequence playback. You still have to render your final output though.
Have a read of the manual and experiment. There are no hard and fast rules for settings as every system is different. Obviously, the more you tax your system the less it's able to play back in real time.
    Best of luck.

  • Slow render times with latest update

Since updating to Premiere CC 7.1 I am experiencing extremly slow render speed with Magic Bullet Looks and .Filmconvert pro 2. When hitting enter to render it hangs for aout 10 seconds before starting. Then after each shot has been rendered it hangs again before continuing, What used to take around 20 minutes now takes 2 hours 34 minutes.
Adobe, please can you show me how to roll back to version 7.0.1 as i don't have time to mess about with this.
    OS: Windows 7
GTX 570 with latest driver (331.65)

    Hi captain,
Check out the plug-ins manufacturer's web page and see if there are any updates for your plug-ins.
    Thanks,

  • Bex input help (F4) very slow response times

When running queries on some of our InfoCubes or ODSs (in 3.5 of 2004s) we are getting a very slow response when using the Input Help (F4) option.  We have looked at the article the Nov/Dec 2004 BW Expert and the following SAP Notes 626887, 661251, 626887, 817335, 567746, 581802 and 748623. None of these are of much help.  We did not seem to have this problem before the upgrade to 2004s.
Anyone have any other ideas?  The users are wanting it fixed.

F4 help behaviour has changed in 04s 3.5 web run time.
See attached thread for a solution (not very helpful in some cases.).

  • Help - Getting slower render times with AE CS6

    Hi everyone
Wonder if anyone else is getting as described?
I have a 3m37s project which is predomnantly motion graphics using live shot footage (.MXF files), Illustrator and a few JPGs.
In CS5 AE I get render times which average around 45mins, so I thought I'd see how quickly CS6 could crank it out by - as you can see I'm getting times which are in excess of 2 almost 3hours!
The project contains a few 2.5D moves as well as tiny bit of Trapcode 3D Stroke
I have mentioned on this forum that I'm having the Error 5070 problems with start up and Ray Trace is unavailable but these times seem seriously wrong to me.
    Mac Pro 3,1 (2x 2.8GHZ)
    20GB RAM
    OS 10.7.4
    NVIDIA GeForce GT8800
NVIDIA Quadro 4000 both on GPU Driver 207.00.00.f06
    CUDA Driver 4.2.10
All files are on a 2TB drive (7200rpm)
    Rendering to a 1TB drive (7200rpm)
    Corsair SSD 60gb Cache drive
As an observation when I watch the frames counter ticking over, CS5 seems to steadily work it's way through the render at around less than a frame a second, CS6 seems to crank out 2-6 frames then hold for 30secs before working on another batch. It crawls to a halt near the end.
Can anyone offer any help or advice?
So far I'm not having a great time with my CS6 transition
    Thanks
    Rob

Thanks Rick - Yes what confused me was that it only took 45mins in CS5 even with MP 'on'
Still having no joy with Ray Tracing though, even though I have a Quadro 4000 card, I get the 5070 error on start up. Any ideas?
