Very slow setting up a blue tooth dongle with Ovi ...

When I connected my E52 to computer by USB Bluetooth Level One dongle, I’m waiting 17 minutes to make connection. I’m using Ovi suit. How to resolve this problem?

Sometimes this happens if the bluetooth driver is not upto date. Could you please check the following:
Right Click My computer -Click Manage
Go to device manager and then there will be an option for Bluetooth- Right click and then click update driver (make sure that the dongle is plugged in correctly) and then restart computer and check. First pair the device with the PC and then with Ovi suite.
Since you are working with Windows 7, and most of the dongles manufactured was made for windows xp and vista. Myabe you can download the latest version of BT stack for windows 7 from the link provided below:

Replace the Time Capsule with a new one or replace your router with an Airport Extreme Base Station that has faster Wi-Fi. Or you could just connect your old Time Capsule using an Ethernet connection from the Time Capsule to the computer's Ethernet port.

Very slow disk performance in Bootcamp 2.1 with XP Pro SP3

Tried bootcamp today and for some reason disk access is painfully slow. XP shouldn't have these issues on such a fast machine. Is this a known issue? Is there a work around?
As it stands XP cannot be used for anything useful due to poor disk performance.
Any help greatly appreciated.

After more digging around I discovered that Bootcamp was operating my hardrive in PIO mode rather than Ultra-DMA - hence the very slow performance. I tried looking for drivers but failed. In the end I installed Vista Premium 32bit and everything now seems fine.
I wonder if bootcamp will get updated to give XP users the full speed of their Mac Pro drives?
Either way, I'm now sorted

I am using:
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)
Running OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.2
Processor 2,3 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB
Macintosh HD has 294,08 GB free (out of 499,25 GB)
I am a student, using my MacBook constantly during the day. Applications that I use daily - Safari, Word, Outlook and Finder are always on; a lot of the time I am also using Photoshop CS6, Skype.
Ever since the update to OS X Yosemite my MacBook did slow down noticeably. I left this issue unattended as I was using uni computer at the time. Recently I returned to the actual studies and design work on my MacBook. I couldn't cope with how slow it was, ended up in forums looking for the solution. I tried a couple of things already (was restarting/shutting down computer in-between these tasks):
1. Disabled FileVault (it was on for moths, I had no idea of what it is), completed the decryption process (it took around 10 hours).
2. After that I ran EtreCheck, that found a couple of actual and potential issues, I more or less sort it out, will attach the new report in the end of the post.
3. Tried to disable Spotlight to affect mds, not sure it worked.
4. Moved to Trash apps I wasn't using, properly uninstalled only a couple of them. Emptied trash.
5. Erased Safari history that emptied about 500MB of RAM, but then it went back to almost 3.98GB full out of 4GB.
At the moment I only have Safari on and kernel_task takes 570MB of memory, used RAM is 3,88GB out of 4GB.
Fan is constantly on, MacBook is very slow. If I understand correctly RAM is the main issue, unfortunately being a student I am not able to buy and install more memory. I also understand that Photoshop takes a lot of RAM memory, what can I do about it? Photoshop is a crucial app for me.
Is there a way to free some of the RAM memory and make my Macbook faster? Would a clean Yosemite install help? (Can Yosemite at all perform properly on a MacBook with only 4GB memory? What will help it run faster?)

Let Spotlight finish indexing your HDD. Stopping it is pointless.
Regarding the fans, it is always running when you turn on the MBP. It is a question of how fast. If there are light loads on the CPU, the fans should be near silent. If otherwise, try a SMC reset.

If that does not slow the speed at very light loads then there are other reasons that need to be explored.
If you cannot instal;l additional RAM (your MBP will accept up to 16GB) then you will have to accept slower performance. Yosemite is a RAM glutton. The best sources of Mac compatible RAM are Owc and Crucial.
Time Machine or any other backup is only necessary if the data you have on your MBP is important. Ask yourself this question: What will be the degree of inconvenience should the internal HDD fail? All hard drives eventually fail.

Blue tooth malfunction with keyboard and kepad

I replaced both the trackpad and wireless keyboard thinking they were the ones malfunctioning, but, when the iMac stop recognizing the keyboard, I rebooted and the Blue Tooth Icon is no longer in the Preferences Menu.
Any ideas what is going on with this?

You may want to try resetting the SMC & PRAM, and see if the issue persists.
If so, then you may have an issue with your iMac's bluetooth antenna/card.

Hi gcreichle. Both your phone and BT headset will need to be in discovery mode in order to connect. Check the instructions for your headset, which should have been included at the time of purchase. In regards to your phone, follow the instructions below:
1. Select Menu
2 .Wireless & Network
3. Bluetooth Settings
4. BT Device should be visible
5. Input passcode.

As many of us know, The Mac Pro has the worst BT signal of all Mac products. It is especially problematic when using Wifi (2.4g), causing the Magic Mouse, Wireless Keyvboard and wireless slate to sluggishly move, or not function at all.
I just purchased a replacement MacPro (2010) for my aging 2006, and noticed that Mac still has the same issues. Unfortunately, I must use Wifi and especially the 2.4g frequency. My wireless products are 1 foot from the box, and I have even tried removing the side cover on the Mac pro along with the removal of the battery cover on the Magic Mouse. Yes, when I do this, reception is a bit better.
I know a replacement machine wikll not fix the problem, and Apple has yet to even really address it. I had read somewhere that Apple had quietly supported the D-Link dbl-120 USB BT dongle, so I bought one. When I plug it in, the dongle lights up, but nothing else happens. It does not show up at all in the system profiler for USB connections. All drivers that come with this dongle are Windows based only. Various FAQ's state it is fully compatible with this dongle and should work right out of the box.
I think Apple needs to update its tagline that state's, "It just works".
Any ideas??

I've used a IOGear GBU421* for more than a year now with good results (once you learn to expect some slow MM pairing after sleep maybe 30% of the time). I would expect the DLink dongle to behave similarly and you shouldn't need any additional software.
Try doing a smc and pram reset -- the usual first attempts at trying ot fix BT problems.
Try unparing and re-pairing. Make the devices favorites.
If you have xcode installed you can do a bluetooth factory reset with Bluetooth Explorer. The always works in the few times I had to resort to it.
With respect to the poor BT reception on the mac pro's, below is a link to probably the best discussion on this where there are posts talking about dongles and replacing the crappy internal antenna with an external antenna.

I cannot set up a bluetooth connection between my apple ipod touch and an external speaker wirelessly. The speaker is a boombar and although I have been able to set it up successfully between the speaker and my iphone, I have not been able to set it up with the ipod. Please , any advice?

Unpair the spear from the phone.
Reset the speaker.
Try with the Mac again.

IOS 7-BLUE TOOTH ISSUES WITH VEHICLE CONNECTION

After I upgraded to IOS 7, everytime I get an email, text message or such it activates my car system. Before it only activated when a call was in coming or I was making one. Is there a fix for this?

Today, a visit to the Honda Service Dept has confirmed that the Blackberry Z10 is not in the list of compatible mobile devices for the 2012 Honda CRV. Check your owners manual for the website link with list. I suspect Honda didn't think it was worth the investment in a software upgrade to include the Blackberry Z10. I was told by the Service Dept to consider switching phones.....imagine that.
