Very slow transfer of songs from itunes

Hi
Don't know if this is an itunes problem, a problem with my phone or what but I noticed in the last few days that when I go to transfer a ripped CD of say 10 songs from itunes to my iphone 4S it does two things:
1. It says there are about 21 or more songs in a cd of 10 songs
2. It transfers the songs really slowly. Before it was over and done with in less than a minute.
anyone have any ideas? I tried changing USB port, I'm still set for manual sync on itunes

Did you find a solution?

  • Very slow transfer of music from itunes to ipod

It's taking up to 10 minutes for each track to transfer from itunes to my ipod. This was not a problem until yesterday. No new software downloaded or any other changes that I can think of. Using itunes 9 & 2nd generation ipod mini. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    HI,
Make sure there is sufficient disk space on your PBook.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.

  • Why am I no longer able to transfer individual songs from itunes to my iPhone?

Why am I no longer able to transfer individual songs from itunes to my iPhone? I don't want to sync everything as I have over 2000 songs on my macbook. Please help!

    Hi ckuan,
Thanks for the tip. I have tried this however, when I select the Sync music box, it wants to remove all of the music that is currently on my iphone. I do not want to do this. What happened to the old "select and drag" option? That was so much easier! I would like to add new music without removing the music that is currently on the iphone.

  • Slow transfer rate Music from iTune to iPhone

    Hello,
I am brand new user of iPhone. I am transferring some of my songs from iTune to iPhone but the transfer rate seems slow. I have a iPod Nano and compare to that iPhone transfer rate is way slower than my Nano.
    For example, the song
"break on through (to the other side)[Remix]" by The Doors,
which is 7:07 long and 6.7MB in file size, took 10 seconds to transfer
The same song took only 2.3 seconds on my Nano.
Does this make sense? Or is there a problem?
    thanks
    Sa'ad

I'm not positive, but I believe the 3rd generation iPod syncs via firewire, but maybe the 3rd generation iPod supports syncing via firewire or USB.
Data transfer via firewire is much faster than data transfer via USB 1.1 or 2.0. I for one wasn't very happy about Apple no longer supporting syncing via firewire with iPods - I thought Apple did this for the Windows market only, and basically they did since many PC ugly box assemblers didn't include a firewire port and firewire didn't catch on and gain enough momentum in the market as an overall, which is a shame. Data transfer via firewire is much faster and more reliable IMO.
Anyway, are you positive you are syncing your iPod via USB and not via firewire?

  • RAZR V3i is very slow when syncing songs with iTunes

My V3i use to sync songs with iTunes pretty fast, but after updating iTunes it syncs very slow, and half the time just hangs.
Is anyone else having this issue? Any tips?
    Thanks!

iTunes stalls loading a mp3 on my phone when that mp3 is currently being played.

  • Transfer shared songs from itunes to iphone

my brother sent me some shared music from his itunes library to my computer and I now have the songs on my itunes library. How do I transfer those songs onto my iphone?

If this "shared" music is music bought from iTunes, presumably it is associated with a apple ID and would probably refuse to load for another apple ID? I think Apple changed it's DRM too, so maybe modern downloads might work while older ones might not. Hard to say without knowing more.

  • Very Slow to Add Songs from Network Drive

My library has reached 12,800 tracks. Because my hard drive is just about full I'm now storing music on a network drive, which is accessed wirelessly (at 54Mbps). Once the music is added to the library iTunes plays it quite happily without any lag. BIG problem though is the time it takes to add songs from this hard drive to the library - it can anything from 20 seconds to a minute PER SONG! And that's after I had to roll back to iTunes version 6 since the gapless playback determination loop took even longer once the songs were in there.
Is this normal? Can anything be done? What's it actually doing when adding a song to the library that could cause it to take so long? Even if it has to read the whole file into memory it should still be quicker than this.
NB. I've tried adding using a mapped drive (H:\...), machine name (\\qnap\music\...) and IP address (\\192.168.1.34\music\...) and it makes no difference.

    Did you find a solution?

  • Ipod does not transfer all songs from itunes

I have the 80g ipod classic. I have 16,000 songs on itunes. when i go to setting on ipod and go to about it shows that i am missing 13 songs. for a while i was missing 5 songs then 9 songs and now 13.yes i still have room on my ipod for music. I do not have a clue what songs are not being transferred to my ipod. what is causing this and what is the solution.

yea i guess that could be possable. i guess with 16,000 songs and only 13 did not transfer to ipod i should be happy but this is mac not windows so i would like to think the soft ware would work without flaws.. as for all my dupes i put over 1500 cds in my itunes library. a lot of the cds were various artists etc. that is y i have so many dupes. my imac has a 500g hard drive so i have plenty of space left on my hard drive. i have 2 external hard drives where my music is backed up.i have a 1terrabit lacie that i just use for time machine and a 500g lacie to back up my music and other stuff. iwould never trust my music to be backed up on only 1 external hard drive. if it died my music would be gone forever. thats y i use 2 external hard drives

  • Can I transfer/copy songs from itunes to Windows Movie Maker?

I am designing a slide show for my daughter's wedding.  If I buy songs through itunes, can I copy/move them to Windows Movie Maker for the slide show.
    I appreciate your input/guidance.

With the iPod connected to your PC and selected on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (if you have iTunes 11 on your PC then you can enable the sidbar via control-S), you should be able to use the Music tab on the right-hand side of iTunes to select which of your music to sync to it e.g. which albums, artists, playlists etc : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1351
