Woh, when I received my Leopard and upgraded, I did a Archive Intall thinking in case something goes wrong with the Leopard installation I would be able to go back to Tiger. Well I had gotten to the point to where I was comfortable with the way Leopard was running and went to delete the "Previous" Archived install, and it simply was not there. No more Previous Install directory...very strange, but since I was ready to delete it anyway, then no big deal. Hopefully this won't happen to somebody else that really needs the Archived Install. Just a HEADS UP message to anyone interested.

Here's the Apple Knowledge Base article that gives the command for removing the Hidden attribute on the Home directory for folks who did a Leopard upgrade and had their Home directory vanish:

Obviously you would need to know the correct name for the "hidden" folder you are trying to unhide.
In a Finder window, type Command-f to bring up the search panel. In the "kind" drop down box at the top of the right panel, select Other. In the panel that opens up, scroll down to File invisible and check the check box to the right of it. Then click on OK. Now again in that "kind" drop down, you will find file visibility in the list. Select it and also select "Visible or invisible" in the drop down just to its right.
Now you should be able to put in the name of the missing folder in the search field and have it show up.

You can try to reboot a few more times. If it doesn't come back and you normally sync to a computer, hook it up and see if the 'guts' are working even if the screen isn't.
Beyond that you should make an appointment at your local apple store and have them check it out.

Whoever told you that is wrong. The warranty on a repair or replacement iPhone is still 90 days minimum. Quoting from their Service FAQ:
If defects arise as a result of service, Apple will cover the repair for the remaining term of the iPhone's warranty or 90 days after iPhone service, whichever provides longer coverage for you.
Call Apple Support and discuss your problem with them. If they agree that it's a hardware problem, they can arrange for mail-in service.

The only thing I can think of is to set the number of days to sync messages, shown below. But I'm not sure if this is what you're after. If it is go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars select the email account you wish to change.
This will then only sync emails from the last week for example. In the screenshot all email messages would be synced to the iPhone.

Do you really need to disable all higher TLS versions?
You can modify the security.tls.version.min and security.tls.version.max prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page to set which TLS versions are enabled.
You may need to close and restart Firefox after changing these prefs.
security.tls.version.min = 0 (1 will disable SSL3 and only enable TLS)
security.tls.version.max = 2 (0 will disable TLS 1.0 and higher, leaving only SSL3 enabled)

30 days is too long for a refund. As it was mentioned earlier, it would be the death of
small devs who are doing it proper and will be run down by something subjective.
One middle ground solution is to wait for reviews and word of mouth (friends or news gaming sites etc.)
before you buy any games. Marketers aren't the most honest group so stop listening/reading into them
already. Too many idiots with short-term money keep falling for things marketers come up with and end
up complaining everywhere. Do your own research and stop being lazy.
-Stop pre-ordering (Producers and publishers aren't testing their products enough, and have shifted their focus on pleasing their board members too much. These board members don't know the ins-and-outs of game development so they should also be called out in comments and conversations too.)
-More developers should go back to creating demos for games, and the Gaming platforms (Sony, Microsoft, Steam) could accomodate developers in terms of costs for demos.
Patience is a virtue and it would be nice if game development (and all the groups involved) went back to the good
old days of properly tested games before being released.

I ran into some partition problems while installing arch and i duly posted a thread here seeking help. I eventually got it fixed after following some advice i received on some other forum. But im very disappointed with arch's moderators. Whoever it was who deleted the thread without even informing me, just imagine what i've got to say to you. Even the most busiest of forums have the courtesy to just close an oft-repeated or unnecessary thread and not just delete it without even informing.

At night, I want to be able to hear if I get a call, but I do not want to hear if I get a txt mssg. I went into setting/txt/sounds and turned it off, and had a ring tone selected for calls, but when I get calls I do not hear the ring tone.

To do this you will need to go to Settings>Notifications>Do Not Disturb and from there sellect "Allow Calls From" to everyone. This will mean that if you schedule Do Not Disturb at Night time, only Calls will make alerts and ring whereas other notifications will be silenced.

Very strange but very annoying problem?

Hey everyone, quick question about something that while not a big deal is very annoying. For some reason even though im the only person who uses this laptop its my brother that os x seems to think is the owner. In other words any scenario where os x has an auto fill or something it always puts my brothers name or email in. Incredibly irritating and ive no idea how to fix it.
There are no other accounts besides my own and ive created a card in the address book for myself and set it as "My Card", that is all i can think to do.

Before installing Firefox, I need to clarify the following:
The use of locales: I am a developer and my preferable language, for the interface, is English (though, it is not my mother tongue). But, I would like to be able to use any other language (including, the use of any dictionary) and develop for any language or locale. So, does the English version let me do the above mentioned?
Or, eg, do I need to install the Hebrew locale, if I want to use the Hebrew dictionary?
Or, is it possible to install different locales on the same computer (and for the same user, in Win XP)?

You can install any dictionary is every locale, so that shouldn't be a problem if you use the English locale.
If you want to check out the user interface or how the browser acts with an RTL locale like Hebrew then you need to install the language pack and switch to that locale.
You can install additional language packs in any Firefox version.

I have been having a similar problem for the last few days.Without warning the signal will just completely duck out leaving the device searching for several minutes before settling on a no signal message.
Sometimes restarting the device, toggling data and 3g settings or toggling Airplane Mode will set things right. However, a lot of the time I've been left without a working phone.
I don't believe this is a SIM issue, as I had to change my SIM only one month ago for another signal related problem. Again any help would be appreciated here as well.

It really doesn't help you learn if we're giving you the answers to questions. That said, there are a number of places where the code you've posted has syntax errors. Any place you see "$" with nothing after it in that code (ie, "$.StartTime" or "ls $ |",
assume they meant to type "$_" ("$_.StartTime", "ls $_ |").
There are also a lot of aliases and partial parameter names in the code. This may be deliberate, to get you to play around with the commands and figure out what the cryptic notation really means, but I don't think it's very helpful. We encourage
people to use full command and parameter names in scripts to enhance code clarity; the same standard should be applied to your test questions. Aliases are an optional convenience if you want to save some typing, once you're comfortable with them.
So, here are the aliases used in your questions, along with their actual command / parameter name:

Engineer call out charges for disabled customers

I read somewhere online that if a bt customer who is registered disabled had any problems with there line & an engineer had to be called out to investigate, the customer wouldn't be charged for the call out or for any work that needed doing, is that true or is the information I read all wrong?
I'm enquiring on behalf of my father who is blind & registered disabled.

well yes there was a problem with my fathers line, I look after him so live in the house & the broadband has been having lots of problems, also crackling on the line etc.
Anyway to cut a long story short, the isp sent out an engineer today to try and find the problem, it turned out the bt cabling on the outside of the house was 20+ years old and was in such a state it needed replacing, also the master socket was also very old & that was replaced as well.
Now I know my father wont be billed for the callout charge for the engineer as the isp is covering that & they told me there would be no callout charge when they called me to arrange the engineer visit but the cost of changing the cabling & fitting a new master socket will cost us, according to the engineer as he asked me whether to go ahead with replacing it all. Although I am not sure why it would cost anyway as that was all installed by bt so was there responsibility, also all the cabling was before the master socket so again that also tells me that it shouldn't cost anything.
But being as my father is registered disabled & blind I am curious to know whether he is liable for any fees or not for the work that was done, & if he is whether him being disabled would get the bill reduced.
