Very strange playlist limit (751 songs)

Hi! As far as I know the maximum number of songs for each playlist ist at about 10.000 or something like that. For me this would be a number I probaly never would reach.However I'm afraid Spotify have a bug concerning the limit. My playlist can only have 751 songs (what is a very strange and odd number). When I want to add a new song, there is no error message or something similiar - it seems to work fine. Only when I look into the playlist I see there aren't new songs added. As you might understand this is pretty annoying, beaucse there's no way to recover the songsy beyond this strange limit.I hope you guys fix this soonand someone can reproduce this. That's weird...
Could you try doing a full reinstallation of the app, including removing your local cache/data files.

Thanks, Michael. Itunes Match is not enabled on my daughter's Itouch. I have subscribed to it and have used the service to back up my song purchases. I merely did a sync via USB (as normal) to her Itouch. The sync wiped out 85% of the playlists that were on my home computer for the last seveal years. I have updated her itouch multiple times - both before and after I had subscribed to iTunes Match. After the last sync to her iTouch, the playlists just disappeared. My home computer is the main device I use to manage my Itunes library and my playlists. I am not sure what happened?
BTW - how are you affiliated with Apple? Are you? I feel like I have explained the issue pretty clearly, but your responses seem to focus on her iTouch and not my computer, where the playlists are managed. I want to know how to get the playlists back on my computer.

Song order messing up in very strange ways.

I've recently had a very strange problem with itunes displaying the album song order correctly.
For some (not all, but quite a few) of my albums, The first song has moved to the last slot. Sometimes this happens for up to 5 or 6 different songs in an album. The strangest part, however, is that albums will begin to do this randomly. Albums that were perfectly fine the day before are now also messed up. I have already tried correcting tags and double checking to make sure everything is the same for all songs. Is there any solution to this problem?

How to copy attributes (as in which playlists) from one song to another

Hi,
Does anyone know how to copy the characteristics of a song--as in which playlists it appears in--from one song to another, so that the new song then appears on all those same playlists also? Or, if not, maybe you have some other idea for me:
I'm working with a Mac. I have several hundred playlists with ~100 songs each, and about 3,500 songs in my iTunes. Most of these songs are currently AACs. I've realized I have a problem: If I want to burn disks with MP3-format songs, I will need to convert the AAC to MP3s to burn them. If I don't want to have thousands of duplicate songs, I will need to trash the AAC versions of those songs from my library. If I do that, they will disappear from the playlists they are currently in (one song might be in 20 different lists). If I had to manually take each MP3 version created, look at which playlists the original AAC version is in, drag the MP3 version to each playlist, and delete the AAC version, it would take a Looooong time. Does anyone know of any shortcuts? For example, is there some way to copy the information about which playlists a given song is in and then paste that info onto the new version so it now appears also in these playlists? Or some other idea? Thanks very much!

Why can't I print a playlist of 24 songs with this newer version that will fit on a case, as I was able to do with the older version?

With the older version I was able to print a playlist of 24 songs that would fit on a case. The print was single-spaced on the older version, but on this version, the print is double spaced and it no longer fits on a case. Does anyone have an answer?

No other solution at this time. Are you using iPad or iPhone?
iPad - I can understand why you ask. It's too bad you can't sync PDF playlist. Right now the only way is to use Sugarsync. From there you can "Open PDF in iBooks". Or you can use Goodreader.
iPhone - Why would you want to use iTunes and iBooks? Although iBooks is well designed and handles PDF very well even on iPhone, it doesn't have text-reflow feature which makes PDF reading useless on iPhone unless you want to loose your eye sight soon. So the only way is to sync a folder using Sugarsync. You can access Sugarsync from Goodreader.

Trying to burn a playlist in itunes and i get this message at the end 'The attempt to burn a disc failed. An nknown error occurred (4450)'. This is with a new Dell laptop running windows 8. The playlist was 17 songs from cd's and itunes. Any ideas?

This is how I managed to fix the problem...and I hope this helps others in the similar situation.
I tried with another program..latest version of Nero, and this was also stopping at the 'initialising' stage. I was now lost! I thought the last resort is to give Evesham (My PC manufacturer) a buzz. They were very helpfull. Basically go into 'Control Panel', 'System', and click on the Hardware tab, then 'Device Manager'. Uninstall everything in the DVD/CDRom Drives. Then uninstall everything under the catagory IDE ATA/Atapi disk controllers. This is where my problem was, as I only had one IDE channel here. You should have 4 or 5! Reboot your machine, and everything will automatically re-load. I tried burning using Nero and it worked. Then the big test was iTunes. It worked 1st time!
I asked why the IDE channels have dissappearred, and he said sometimes uninstalling Programmes occasionally removes them.
I hope this will help others who are having problems to burn stuff on iTunes.

Iphone create playlist add all songs

Since upgrading to iOS7.0.4 on my iPhone 4 I have to say I have been very frustrated and unhappy. Not only does my album art not match my songs after various syncs and deletes and resyncs, voice control keeps coming on to interrupt my music draining my battery. Now I am trying to create a new playlist and the functionality to add all songs in a search is gone meaning I have to click on every single song to add it rather than being able to add by artist or album all in one go. This is most annoying. My contract with Telus is almost up and I'm getting more and more tempted to go to a Samsung Galaxy as I find the bugs in the new iTunes iOS 7.0.4 are becoming a real pain.

The reason I need the On-The-Go playlist, is because I had my iPod on auto-sync, and checked the songs I wanted added to the iPod. But in my iTunes, I accidentally checked EVERYTHING. So now if I want to re-sync my iPod to include new songs I've added, I'll have to go BACK through and recheck those few thousand songs I had on my iPod, which will take me forever.
SO, if I can just create the On-The-Go playlist, it will transfer that to my iTunes, in which case I can just sync the playlist.
Yeah, I've even tried adding songs from other playlists. If it's a small playlist it works. I made a playlist with every song on my iPod. That didn't work. Is there a max for how big the On-The-Go playlist can be?

Very Strange Touchscreen Issue

I recieved and activated my new 8GB iPhone about two days ago and it worked great up until just a few hours ago. I am experiencing the known issue of the bottom 1/2 inch or so of the touchscreen not responding to my touch, which in turn is affecting a lot of main elements of the phone such as SMS, e-mail, iPod, etc. Among that issue, I also encountered a very strange occurrence whilst I was testing the 'dead zone' on my iPhone: Certain sections of the dead zone work if I hover my finger about 2 -3 centimeters from the screen. It is a very strange thing but true, lol. I can even capture video footage of this if it's necessary.
Since I bought my iPhone from an AT&T store, should I return it to them for a new one on the spot or should I do it through Apple? I hope it doesn't come down to the latter since I do not live anywhere near an Apple Store (New Orleans, LA) and I just switched from T-Mobile to AT&T so I'd really hate to purchase a cheap temporary phone while my iPhone is being replaced/fixed.

I just talked to Apple Support and they are going to repair it for me, it's just I need to wait til Friday since I am broke from Christmas! Once I get paid, then I can dish out the 30 dollars to get a rental iPhone to hold me over. The restore temporarily fixed the touchscreen issue since it happened again hours later.
Also, nobody I know who would have a spare AT&T phone doesn't come to mind so I can't just borrow a phone and start the repair process now, but the wait isn't too bad. At least they do not limit the iPhone rental to just physical Apple Store customers!

How to make smart playlist that randomizes songs?

I want to have a playlist with 5 songs in it. The songs have to have a play count of zero, and I want them to be random every time I select the playlist. Is this possible? Basically I just want to listen to songs I've never listened to before and thought this would be an easy way.

Yes, just use a single rule "Playcount is 0," limit it to 5 items selected at random, and use live updating. Once a song is played it will fly off the list (since its playcount is no longer 0) and immediately be replaced.
If you ever want to "refresh" the list, i.e. get 5 new songs, then open the playlist, Edit > Select All (so they all get highlighted) and then Delete. Those 5 will be removed and new ones will appear momentarily.

Can anyone make genius playlist from 2011 songs?

I have tried to create genius playlists from very popular songs this year including "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO & "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster the People. I doubt that Apple Genius Servers do not have information to create genius playlists to these songs which these and other songs have sold over 4 million songs on iTunes alone.
Please if there is someone can shed light on this issue and a way to correct that would be great. Being that New Year's eve is coming up, it would be great to make genius playlists from current released songs especially #1s from 2011.

Never mind. I figured out that you have to hit "enter" after you type in what you are looking for and then the results will show up in the iTunes window.

Did it used to be easy to tell if a song was in a playlist. I know in addressbook you just clicked option on a contact and all the groups it was in would hightlight. Very cool, very Apple. I thought you could do the same thing in iTunes. Now iTunes has changed so much, I cant find that option. I have 11.1.3. There should be a very easy way to tell what playlists a song is in.........shouldnt there.

its there you have to control click. How hard would it me to make it like Addressbook. I would rather hit option have have playlists highlight to show you what playlists have this song in it, rather than, give you the option to add it to the "Up Next" list. I dont use iTunes like that. I play the whole playlist. But then I am 52, not 12 and go more for practical use. I feel Apple is morphing more and more like a PC. More and more clicking.

Very strange happenings....

There is something very strange going on with a couple of
flash movies/sites that I have created.
At first it was only noticed by one person, but it is now
two, which makes me wonder how many others are having the problem.
Please check this

The problem is that on the first site the navigation on the
left hand side doesn't appear to work but the images all show and
they can see the background. When they roll over where the
navigation is it shows the rollOver state but no text. The same is
so for the second site's flash header.
It works on the majority of other test machines we have tried
and I can't understand why the odd ones can see the images but not
the text as the swf files are the whole thing (not images seperate
from the nav). Do the fonts need to be embedded or made into
outlines (like Illustrator) because I thought that all fonts would
display using flash?
Just wondered if anyone else had come across this very odd
thing or anyone could offer any advice, it's confused me.

iMovie has a ... "fragile" file system... I'm reading, you're doing zillions of things, while project is in process ...including getting a new hard drive, running Disk Warrior, unplugging my modem, etc. .. esp. "getting a new harddrive".. how did you accomplish THAT??... anyhow.
so, basic rule:
Don't get hasty.
In the video portion I am using and intermixing stills and video, transitions, titles, etc. .... I can undo & redo voice overs, increase volume, reduce volume on clips, add music., fade it in and out.
another rule: iMovie has problems with too much audio-editing... some recommend here, to export project after finishing editing to tape and reimport and do audio THEN...
iMovie is easy to use, but a project of such big size shouldn't be done with "trial & error"... try to break it down in parts (you can rejoin them later), think first/do some paper editing first; create playlists in iTunes to have easy access to titles you want; add narration first (as "timeline" where to edit what) or at last, when everything is finished (take in concern that im-/export hint)...
I've accomplished 2h projects with a much less powered Mac then yours... keep calm, do it easy, think first.
just to mention that:
. The computer fan makes loud noises and I have to switch off the power to the computer. The fan is for cooling your Mac, switching it off, means no cooling= oh, oh... and to stop a UNIX system by unplugging the computer... pphheww... no good either....
you bought a 2000$ machine - don't treat it as a Gremlin ;-))

Limiting playlists to rated songs per artist

I often want to listen to an album or artist but only the songs I have rated. In iTunes I have a playlist of all rated songs. I type the artist or album name in search for a quick way of limiting the playlist to what I want to hear. My question is, how can I get the same result on the iPod? (without creating playlists for every artist, etc.)

Smart playlist limited to only rated songs. Sort the playlist by artist. Then when you want to play scroll to track you want.
It is cumbersome but there is very limited playlist editing available on the ipod. I have a playlist that only contains songs not played. As I play the tracks drop off the list. Eventually When I have listened to all tracks I will edit playlist to tracks played less than twice. While playing I tend to add ratings. If I get distracted and forget I have another playlist to catch tracks with playcount=1 but not rated.

Very strange problem w/ iTunes PC

Well, I have a very strange problem - I added some music to my iTunes and when I was changing the informations and cover, my iTunes crashed. When I restarted the program, the album is missing and when I found it on my hard drive, I am not able to import it back to the iTunes. This happens with both Import from the menu and the classic Drag/Drop method. So what to do? Is there any way to get it back?
EDIT: Tried to move the files to another folder. Didn't work though.

I just found the problem lies with iTunes 7.0.
I ran the sames songs (ones with problem) into iTunes 4.7.1, with MSN messenger (same version)'s song display selected.....the song title/artist displayed and it did not get kicked out!!!!
If it's not my 80gig iPod.......I would not have gotten iTunes 7.0!!!!!!!

Strange problem when transfering songs

Hi Everyone,
I have a very strange problem when i transfer songs to my iphone.
When i transfering songs maually (dragging them from ITunes music library to my iphone) i can see that they are in my iphone (at "On This iPhone"),
but when im looking in my iphone (in the music library) im seeing only 70-80% of the songs.
And the strange thing is that i can see them if im searching them!
