VERY unstable WiFi connection Xperia Z2 5.0.2

Hello,
For some reason my wifi connection is either very slow, or there isn't any connection. And when it does connect, it is REALLY slow, and then it drops.
I get really frustrated because on my other devices such as an asus notebook and a Samsung tablet it works like a charm.

I notice the same thing with the latest firmware (28) sometimes while connected to my home wifi network. When I'm outside, my phone will show a full connection, or 3/4 bars, but there's no Internet access. If I toggle wifi off and on, it sometimes kick starts it, sometimes doesn't do anything. When I'm inside, I have no issues. It's almost as if the wifi icon is buggy. As if it doesn't show a true reading of the wifi signal strength.

  • Very unstable WIFI connection on Satellite A200 PSAE4E

Just had my A100 Equium replaced with an A200 satellite pro and for some reason I am struggling to get it connected to my WiFi network. I had the old laptop connected fine and was using channel 11 on my WAP.
Now having tried to connect my new laptop I am finding the connection very unstable. I have tried different channel numbers and these have worked mainly the lower numbers, but have proved slow and unreliable. I have other laptops which are fine using my WAP on channel 11.
Anybody else suffered this trouble and what's the solution.

    Hi mate
I believe that you known very well that its not easy to say exactly what could causes this WLan interruption.
As far as I know this notebook was delivered with Vista OS. I have read that the Vista OS need to be updated to the latest state and Microsoft patches and fixes must be installed to fix different Wifi issues.
Note that the patches must be updated using the Microsoft update website!
Furthermore I would recommend updating the WLan driver and to check if there could be an compatibility issue between the internal minPCI WLan card and your WLan router. You could also try to check if the WLan works fine without any additional encryption settings.
Best regards and Happy New year ;)

  • Thinkpad T440p unstable wifi connection

I purchased a Thinkpad T440p during last Christmas. I always have unstable wifi connection. I have updated all the drivers, changed to different wifi enrionments, and restored my laptop to factory conditions. Still, it is very unstable. Anybody here can give out possible solutions? I know I am within the warranty period. But I am using laptop everyday, and don't want to ship it to Lenovo for a long-time fix.

    Try this driver?

  • Very slow wifi connection on my MBP

I'm having problems with my wifi connection on my MBP. My iPad, iPhone and iPod all work absolutely fine but for some reason I have a very slow connection on the MBP. If I connect it to the router with a wire it's fine so it's definitely the wifi.
The only other thing that's changed recently is our Internet package. But this hasn't effected any of my other devices and we actually upgraded our package so I think that's coincidental.
Is it a known problem with MBPs? Should I take it to the genius bar or is there a simple solution.
    Thanks in advance

thanks for the tip. unfortunately, removing the security from the router isn't an option as it isn't even my router (my roommate owns it and would never allow that to happen).
the thing that is perplexing is that it hasn't always been slow - this just started happening within the last two weeks. one could assume that if one computer experiences a slow internet connection, the other would as well if they are both going through the same router. secondly, the connection strength, despite it being slow, is at the maximum. finally, if i connect to any other network at school or coffee shop, the connection is fast. there's obviouly something specific to my MBP and the router that the computer doesn't like, which is causing the lag.
maybe my MBP doesn't like the channel that the router is set to. i'll look into getting it switched as it may be the root of the problem.

  • 8.02 ipad 3 battery drain, very warm, wifi connection issues

Have the iPad 3 (64, wifi only).  Updated to 8.02 yesterday.  Wish I would've waited for 8.03.
-The battery is draining like crazy.
-The  iPad gets  very hot.  So hot that I have shut it down several times to cool it off.   I am also shutting it off at night because I don't want it to burn up.
-am having wifi connection problems when I wake it up.   Have  done restarts on it and also clicked wifi setting on and off.  i am not experiencing wifi problems with my internet provider as, when I can't get the iPad to work, I gave been using my Samsung phone on wifi or my hp laptop.
AS soon as I get done typing this, I am shutting it down because it is so hot it is uncomfortable on my leg and I don't want to burn my house down.   I am also at 69% at 6pm and I just charged it up last night.  So guess after it cools down, I will charge it.
Something is still terribly  wrong with these updates.  If anyone has any suggests, please let me know.  I have had this iPad since it came out and have not had any problems.  Thank you.

  • RV220W: Very slow wifi connection???!!!

I'm an IT professional with more than 10 years experience. I have spent last 5 days trying to figure out why the wifi connection to this router is so slow, but still no luck. I'm getting only 13Mbps even if my laptop is next to the router! (wired connection worked ok)
I have tried all sort of setting combinations, 2.4GHz/5GHz; N only/ G,N Mixed;  Auto/20MHz bandwidth; different channels; WPA2 encrypted vs open; disable firewall; wmm enabled/disabled; 1.0.0.26/1.0.1.0 firmware... no matter what I try, I always get only 10 - 15Mbps speed.
Once I replace this router with my old router, it worked perfectly --- getting 70 - 80Mbps with exactly the same testing environment and configuration.
I really expect this router to offer much faster wireless speed according to this review:

Welccome to the discussion area, Dominic!
With the explosive growth of wireless networking and other wireless devices like cordless phones, it's unfortunate that wireless interference is causing so many issues for users.
You are probably picking up interference from another nearby wireless network, security system or cordless phones. Because of the intermittent nature of your issue, cordless phones might be the first suspect since conversations start and stop. Most cordless phones operate on the same 2.4 GHz frequency that most wireless networks use. I had to get rid of mine since they were causing too many problems for my wireless network.
To give you an example of the difficulties that cordless phones can cause, my neighbor...across the street...can literally bring my wireless network to a crawl and sometimes a crash if he's in his front yard talking on his cordless phone.
If you have cordless phones, keep them as far away as possible from any routers or computers. You won't be able to do anything about an offending phone at the neighbors, unfortunately.
All you can really do is experiment and try different wireless channels on your wireless router to see if you can find some clear airspace.

  • Very Odd WiFi connection problems - plus crashes

Since Firefox 2.0.0.9 crashed yesterday, I have had very odd problems with my WiFi (Earthlink through an Apple Airport). Network Diagnostics says everything is okay, but Safari can no longer connect to the internet, and after Firefox crashes I can not even send Apple an error report. Yet I can get online with Firefox, as I am now.
The problem apparently started EITHER when I upgraded to the latest Firefox or when I tried to place an order at <http://www.senacases.com/> (or both). After Firefox crashed multiple times while trying to place an order at <http://www.senacases.com/>, I opened Safari, which would not connect.
I ran Network Diagnostics which said everything is fine. But Firefox continually crashes trying to place an order at <http://www.senacases.com/>, Safari continues not connecting, Network Diagnostics continues to say everything is fine, and now I can't file an Apple Error Report and trying to connect to some of the library services at Notre Dame (something I have always been able to do before), makes Firefox crash.
The only other possible symptom I have noticed is that I could not connect to a Late Show video this morning. Otherwise, I can browse the web in Firefox, I can pick up my email with Entourage, etc.
    How do I fix this?

PS: I once had a similar problem that was fixed by a simple restart.
I have restarted numerous times now, with no change. My MacBook was off over night.

  • Unstable WiFi connectivity in macbook pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)

    Hi guys!
My macbook pro is connected to the internet via WiFi router, and it very often it happens that my macbook loses connectivity with it. WiFi logo shows the same signal strength, but all browsers (Safari & Chrome) can't load webpages.
This issue can be solved by turning WiFi on and off, but it happens again and again. It looks like connectivity loses when Macbook goes in sleep mode and get's back from it, but sometimes connectivity issues happen even without sleep mode switching.
I found in the internet that this issue can be solved by turning off Bluetooth and tried, but it didn't help.
I totally understand that from one point of view this issue is not a big deal, but we are speaking about Apple device, and before I thought that this brand is synonime for ultimate quality and reliability. So please help me with this issue and bring back my faith in Apple;)

Please test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
Take the applicable steps in this support article. The Wireless Diagnostics program generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.
    Step 2
Disconnect all USB 3 devices. If you don't know which are USB 3, disconnect all USB devices except keyboard and mouse.
    Step 3
If you're not using a wireless keyboard or trackpad, disable Bluetooth by selecting Turn Bluetooth Off from the menu with the Bluetooth icon. If you don't have that menu, open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked Show Bluetooth in menu bar. Test. If you find that Wi-Fi works better with Bluetooth disabled, you should use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. Your router may not support it; in that case, you need a new router.
    Step 4
Open the Network pane in System Preferences and make a note of your settings in the Wi-Fi service. It may be helpful to take screenshots of the various tabs in the preference pane. If the preference pane is locked, unlock it by clicking the padlock icon and entering your administrator password. Delete Wi-Fi from the service list on the left by selecting it and clicking the minus-sign button at the bottom. Then recreate the service by clicking the plus-sign button and following the prompts.
    Step 5
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 6
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.

  • WiFi connections are unstable on multiple different WiFi networks

Has there been any updates on the unstable WiFi connection issues with the Note 3? I have this issue with multiple different WiFi networks even though signal strength is not an issue when it happens. I picked up my Note 3 in August/Sept 2013.
    1. Work WiFi
    2. Home 2.4G channel and 5G channel
From what I have searched so far, I am by far not the only person with this issue, but I have yet to see a fix or any kind of legitimate input  from Verizon on this issue.
The issue even happens in SafeMode so I know its not an app that I downloaded that is causing this issue.
    Thanks

Samsung is aware of the issue. The fix is supposedly with Kit Kat.
They may suggest you going to a Best Buy mobile and have the software removed and put back on. Been there done that, didn't work.
Sending a replacement out isn't going to help. It is a known software issue, and it will continue until there is a build that fixes the issue. IE: Kit Kat.
You should have the MJE build. This software is the problem. MJ5 was no problem. If you get a replacement MJE should be on it, if not as soon as you put the SIM card in it will start to download it.

  • Wifi connection become's very slow on my laptop

Hi guys... So, recently I had bought my new laptop and from the first day I have noticed that the internet on it is very very slow (wifi connection). AT FIRST I thought that there is some thing wrong with my router but after 2 hours I changed my mind because the Internet speed on my mobile (which connected in the same network and router) is more fast than it on my laptop , and it is also very fast on my old laptop (pavilion i5/win7).
As I have mentioned before I had bought this one recently so it's pure.. I didn't touch it is drivers or it's software just like stock.
I also need to to say that sometimes the wifi connection on my laptop becomes fine and quite fast and in sometimes becomes slow, the interesting part is that when it becomes slow I restart my laptop and it becomes fast again!! I can't find find where is the error in, hardware or software I have no idea
    Hope u could help..
    Thanks in advance ^^

  • Why did iOS 7.x update affect iPad2 WiFi connection badly?

After updating to iOS 7.x my iPad 2 has very weak WiFi connection. It only works at home from about 1 meter distance. Other devices find the connection without problems. In other places (office, areas with public free WiFi networks) iPad does not find the WiFi network at all. Seems this problem is only with iPad2, newer  Apple HW does not seem to have the same problem.
I have tried all fix ideas I've managed to find, even resetting back to factory settings. I have also installed all available updates to the operating system. Nothing works. Any idea what has been changed in the iOS sw that affects the WiFi this way? Any fix expected from Apple?

After updating to IOS 7.1.1, the Wi-Fi on my iPad 2 behaved normally.

  • Iphone 4 running 4.3.5 wifi very unstable/will not connect to network

Hi all iPhone users. Im new to this so please bear with me. I have an iPhone 4 (had for about 1 month or so). I have recently updated to the new 4.3.5 software. Sice then, my wifi seems to be very very unstable. Im only about 10ft from my router and when I go to connect, I get an error saying 'unable to join network'. I previously had an iphone 3gs and that connected fine further away.
When my iphone 4 does connect, the connection lasts about 10-15 secs and then it will not load any web pages although it shows its connected. I have tried all methods on previous threads but nothing seems to work. Ive also tried retting my router and changing the wifi channel to make the signal stronger but nothing seems to work.
Ive seem some threads where people have 'put them in the freezer' but im not willing to do that as the phone is only a month old. Ive tried the network reset, the hard reset, re-installing itunes and trying the update again but it nothing seems to work.
Any help or advise would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi folks,
    SOLVED
iPhone 4 wasn't having any joy (and neither was my new 4s).
Tried turning OFF the security on the router, connecting the iPhones (yep, they connected OK) then turning on the security (WPA2-PSK [AES]) and both iPhones still connected.
So, it looks like this is the way to solve a non-connecting iPhone 4/4s with a Netgear WiFi router.
Hope this helps others with the same problem.
    Regards

  • Why my wifi connection is unstable? I have an ipad 4 wi-fi and my net connection only works very close to my router!

My wifi connection only works well if i am really close to my router. My notebook connection runs great either close or far from the router! What can i do about that? Thank you!

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • Very slow/stalling wifi connection on iMac

I recently purchased the iMac 21.5" Core i3 3.06GHz- I was quite exited about my new computer as I've been thinking about switching to Mac for a couple of months. I was amazed with the software compared to Windows, but so far I'm very dissapointed with the wifi connection.
I connect to a router which is two floors down in the same apartment building (we have an agreement to share the connection with my neighbors)- D-link router using WEP- authentication. On the same spot where I placed my iMac, I regularly get 2-3 out of 5 bars and speeds of approx. 250 kb/s with my corporate Windows7 lenovo PC. However, the iMac wifi connection is very slow- I'm not sure of the exact speed, as the connection is very unstable- sometimes webpages load quickly, but sometimes a simple web-page takes forever. The key issue is downloading files- when downloading a file, the speed starts at 250- 300 kb/s at first, then quickly drops to approx. 50 kb/s, a then usually stalls and the download is rarely finished.
I have tried browsing apple support for help, and found advice to adjust MTU in AirPort settings, and I experimented with various DNS, but niether of these seems to help, my web-browsing and page loading times seem to have improved, but downloading files is still almost impossible. The problem si very frustrating, since I get reliable speed and connection on my lenovo PC on the very same spot as the iMac.
Based on reading internet discussions on this topic this seems to be a rather wide-spread problem with the iMac, and I'm wondering if anyone here has a similar experience and any suggestions for a solution? Can it be an issue with the aluminium body which has poorer reception, and I simply need to move my desk to different location in the apartment?
    Thanks, I appreciate all suggestions!
