Very useful FREE program

Hi all,
Thought this might be useful to some of you after reading one or two posts.
You are doing something or other and a notice pops up like "Unable to do this, that, or the other, as file is locked/In use or whatever," but it doesn't say WHICH process or action is locking the damn thing.
Download a little FREE program from mst-Software called "mst IsUsedBy". It's on:
http://www.mstsoftware.com/
Next time you come up against this problem just start the program and it will open a small window on the display. Drag the item in question onto the window, and after a short pause it will tell you which program or process is using (thus locking) the item in question.
Just remember though that it will only come up with an answer if the item is active when you actually drag it to the window.
It doesn't move or change the item you drag, just gets the info about what it is.
There's a couple of other useful free programs on the site as well.

Addendum.
For those, like me, whose intellectual light glows a little dimmer than others and find the window annoyingly disappears when trying to drag something onto it:-
Click on the little thumb-tack icon on the top left of the small window and it will fix it while you use it.
To undo that just click it again.

You can tell what version of iOS you have via Settings > General > About > Version
If you are in Iraq then unfortunately you can't currently get any content, including apps, from Apple (and Apple is the only source for apps) as there isn't currently an iTunes store in your country. If/when that is likely to change I don't know.

If your needs are limited to those tasks then both Preview and iPhoto will fit the bill They are already on your Mac. There is a free download from Google called Picasa available here:

It works much the in same manner as iPhoto. For some really heavy duty work there is GIMP available from SourceForge:

Event Handling for free programmed search help bond dynamically in SO

Dear Expert,
I met a problem of how to handle an event raised by a free programmed search help - (F4), and this F4 is invoked
by a field defined in a Selection Option component (WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS) - SO.
The scenario is that I would like to update the SO after the user multiple select some entries in the F4. I could tranfer
back all the value chosen in the F4 to the consumer SO, but I can not update the icon in the SO(e.g in SO, multiple values will be
displayed with a green arrow icon), because I could not define a handler in SAP standard component SO, and it looks like there is no chance to catch the event triggered at the end of selection in F4. (this event belonged to this F4)

HT1284 Do I need to reformat my external hard drive before I backup to it? It shows very little free space when in fact it is empty.

I am new to Imac. I want to use an external hard drive to backup to but the drive shows very little free space when in fact it is empty. Do I need to reformat it and, if so How? Thanks

What is the external disk?
Is it new? If so, maybe it has a Windows file system on it (FAT, exFAT, or NTFS). If so then reformat to "HFS+ Journaled".
What backup utility are you using? TimeMachine, Carbon Copy Cloner, SuperDuper, etc...? If the external is suppose to be bootable because you are using a cloning backup (CCC or SuperDuper), then it is also important that the disk partition table be GUID.
You can find out this information via Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility, select the disk (not volume on the disk) and the partition time will be shown at the botton of the window. Now Select the volume and it will tell you how the file system on the disk is formatted.
Also do you want to leave room for a recovery partition on the external disk? Then repartition it with a small (2GB) partition that can hold a bootable recovery partition that you can setup via the Apple "Recovery Disk Assistant" which can be downloaded from Apple.

Firefox crashes when I try to use DataLoad, and I was able to use this program a month ago.

In the recent past I have been able to use a program called DATALOAD (shareware) to load data into Firefox web forms (specifically web based sales tax returns).
However, now every time I try it now Firefox crashes, so I am forced to use IE (which I hate). The last time I used Dataload was in April 2011 (for my quarterly tax returns).
On of the latest updates to Firefox must have a conflict with this program.
Can you please research to see what changed in Firefox to make it crash when using Dataload? I do not want to use IE if I do not have to.

Using SUBMIT program command in Background

I am submitting the program in Background using Submit<program> command.
Job is getting released but not fininishing(not executing the program) in ECC6.0.
Same program is working in fine in 4.5b.
Please let me know if any one faces this situation. Its very urgent.

Hi,
perhaps you or your admin have configured to less batch-workprocess or they are all configured only for A-class jobs.
Try to start the job as A-Class job. If the program is executed, then ask your administrator to configure more batch workprocess that are not reserved for A-class jobs.

I looked into this further, and reading an AVI file into LabVIEW faster than its frames per second won't be possible. LabVIEW could read in frames faster than 25fps, but because it will be pulling the available frame at that point in time this would just give you duplicate frames. If you want to be able to read in frames at faster than 25fps, you would need to speed up your AVI file before reading into LabVIEW.
There's a good shipping example to show how to read in from an AVI file, "Read AVI File.vi". You'll notice that they add timing to make sure that the while loop runs at the right speed to match up with the frames per second of the file being read. This is to make sure you're not reading duplicate frames.

and when your tor browser is open, go to the tools at the top left and click on 'add-ons' then 'extentions'... in the 'no script' section click 'options' and choose the 'embeddings' tab... uncheck 'forbid Adobe Flash' press 'OK'...
then click the options button for the Torbutton 1.4.4.1 section and choose the 'security settings' tab... uncheck 'disable plugins during tor usage'... then OK...
then simply close it all and restart Tor... it works, 100%... have just managed to upload photos onto facebook in Vietnam after days of failed attempts...
