VERY VERY SLOW WIFI PRINTING

I'm experiencing a very very slow printing of any complex document (1-2 mega spooling file).

Hello ,
Thanks for posting in the HP Forums!
I'd like to help you with the slow printing that you are experiencing when printing more complex files to your HP LaserJet M276nw Printer wirelessly from your Mac 10.9 computer. Generally, the larger/more complex the file, the longer it will take to process, transmit over your network, and print. However, if it is printing extremely slow, I have a few suggestions that may correct this for you. First, you'll want to make sure you have the full feature software installed for this model. If you haven't installed the software previously you can download it here - HP LaserJet Pro 200 Color M276 Full Feature Software and Drivers. Once the software is installed, follow these steps to add your printer to you Mac (ensuring that you're using the proper driver): Click the Apple icon on your Menu Bar.Select System Preferences.Select Printers and Scanners.Select your printer and then press the (-) button at the bottom of the list to remove it.Select the (+) and click Add Printers and Scanners. (NOTE: Do not select the printer from the list of Nearby printers as this will often automatically use the AirPrint driver)Select your printer (the one that shows Bonjour Multifunction under "Kind").At the bottom of the window under Use: does it say AirPrint? If so, click the drop down and you should see a specific driver for the printer. Click Add.Try printing your document again, and let me know the result. Please respond to let me know if we have resolved the issue!

My printer takes forever to print, either from internet or Word doc. Sometimes the computer 'drops' the print request several times before printing as well. I've reinstalled the drivers but nothing has changed. Any suggestions about what I should do next much appreciated.

  • Officejet 6700 very slow to print does not scan to Imac

I just purchased a new officejet 6700 from Costco it takes  at least 10 min to print if at all and does not scan to Imac the current osx is snow leopard 10.6.8 using an airport time machine as a my wireless router / backup I have charter internet with ARRIS modem model # TM502G its also very slow to run any functions in the hp utility I did notice that the home network ip and printer ip are different don't know if that is an issue or not any help would be appreciated thanx.

    Hello kennethburland,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand your concerns with your Officejet 6700 Premium.
What program are you printing from? Do you notice this issue occur from using multiple program(s)?
Please follow this entire HP document on Slow Printing. Make sure you choose your correct operating system.
You did indicate that your printer's IP address and your home network are different. The first three numbers of the IP address should be the same, but the last number(s) should be different. Please reference this HP document on Wireless Basic.
Are you receiving any error message indicating why you are unable to scan a document to your computer?
If you are receiving a "Connection Error", then please follow this HP document here. If the scanning software isn't responding, then follow this HP document here.
Please inform me your troubleshooting steps.

  • Very slow PDF printing on Canon MG7550 printer

    Hi,
When I print large PDF files (25 pages) using network or cable it prints very slow. It lasts forever before the print job has been sent to the printer. When the print job is finally received there can be 1-2 minutes between each page. It just stops printing, then starts and so on.
Can someone help me with this?
    System and software:
Macbook Pro, OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.1
Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, version 11.0.10

I am only guessing here because I don't know the specifics of the printer that you are using.  Since all of the pages are scanned that means you basically printing images.  This take much more memory than say a text document would take to print.  You may be getting a spooled effect as your printer tries to manage the memory it takes to print the document.  Your settings are probably set to print directly to the printer.  You could try spooling to the hard drive and it might print more smoothly but still take a while to print.

  • Very slow network printing in Mac os 10.6

    Hi,
    I am printing to a HP2035n.
    A networked printer.
I bought it while I still had 10.5
It worked like a charm - very fast.
I upgraded to Snow Leopard (10.6) with a new hard disk in the laptop.
After this, the printing is very slow. Painfully slow.
The queue window says "Connecting to the printer..." for each and every print job, and this takes 1-2 minutes for each print job.
Once a job gets started, the printer is very fast, 20 pages in a minute or so.
But when I print several print jobs (e.g. bank transactions today) I have to print 40-50 different print jobs, and the printing time takes several hours!
When I put back the old hard disk with the OS X 10.5, the printing goes very fast on the same hardware, network and wi-fi connection on the airport express.
How can I improve this situation?
    It is unbearable.
    Kim

Try resetting some of the hardware involved (PRAM~NVRAM). See this Apple KB for details, etc.:

Can't hurt to try, and apparently this has helped others recently.

  • VERY SLOW WIFI,NOT A PROBLEM ON MY OTHER MACHINES

THIS MACHINE IS VERY SLOW TO BOOT UP AND IT IS VERY SLOW WHEN I GET ON THE INTERNET.i DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH MY OTHER MACHINES,SO I DONT FEEL THE WIFI SERVICE IS THE PROBLEM.

A good place to start would be running tests on the hardware. Immediately after powering on tap the Esc key. From the menu tap F2 System Diagnostics

  • Brand new Macbook Pro 10.8.2 very slow wifi

All of my other wireless devices are very quick on my home wifi. I am using a macbook pro, 2.5 GHz i5, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.
I have installed all updates, tried making a new network location, still very slow. 8 hours to download a 4.6 GB app from the store. My 06 iMac will download files this size in minutes and it's still running pre snow leopard OSX. Anyone know whats going on here? I'm very disappointed so far. Hope there is a fix.

My new 2013 MacBook Pro 13" retina had same WiFi issue.  Please go to this Website and follow the instructions to change your router's settings. http://www.s0hel.com/blog/401/fixed-slow-wifi-issue-with-new-macbook-pro/
Yesterday I changed my router's settings and now I don't see any WiFi issues.
I hope this works for you.

  • My ipad on the new ios7 is working very slow wifi

my ipad on the new ios7 is working very slow on wifi and so is my iphone 5 any suggestions?

A solution has been found thanks to a couple of hours on the net and logical analysis.
It seems my email provider BT has changed their mail client to Outlook 365. They have started my migration, hence I cannot send mail from home wifi, and will complete after a few days.
If anyone reading this in the UK and has the same issue then follow this link for setup of the new system.

  • Very slow wireles printing MG7500

Hello, Two days ago purchased the MG7520 printer.  Set it up today and it connected to my wireless (Dish network, satellite).  Printing a regular Pages document is pretty slow, but printing a photo is nearly impossible - so very slow it would take 30 minutes to print a 5 X 7. I printed a Network Configuration Page, the signal strength is 100%.  I'm running OSX Yosemite on my MacBook Air that is connected to the printer. Not sure what to do next - any suggestions?  Thanks to everyone here in advance :-).

Hey, thanks for your help!  I tried re-connecting the printer to wireless and moved it somewhat closer too with an unobstructed view.  It still printed slow but faster than before, so I think it is definitely the wireless connection.  But, just to make sure will pick up an ethernet cable this week and try that. Will also try the USB when I have time later in the week.  I have to say that the photo I printed today is exactly the color of the subject so I am VERY pleased with the color printing capability of this printer.  And, also very pleased that everything is working fine on the printer regarding both document and photo printing. Thanks again!

  • Very slow in printing

I connect to the printer through wireless.  Printing a word document from laptop takes very long time. I noticed that only if I start the HP 2545 Series application and  click on the what's printing and select the print document, then only it proceeds with printing. Even then it is slow in printing. Scanning is faster with same wireless connection. I suspect there is no driver available for 2545 and I am using HP Deskject 2540 driver only (Ver 32.2) downloaded from internet. Please create a driver for 2545 model or provide me a solution

Hey ,  Welcome to the HP Support Forum.  I understand you're finding your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545 All-in-One Printer's performance to be slow when printing from Word.  I would like to assist you with this. Is the slow printing you're encountering limited to just printing from Word or is it happening when printing from other programs?  You do have the latest printer driver, but have you updated your printer's firmware?  I recommend you click here to complete a firmware install. For best results, complete the firmware install via usb connection.   Note that when it comes to the speed in which it takes a printer to print, there are more factors than just the printer's driver contributing.  I also suggest you run the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows using the same link above to install it.  This utility is designed to automatically detect and correct common printer setup issues, up to and including print queue and print spooler problems (Windows related). If these basic steps don't improve the printer's performance, my colleague  has posted a work-around in another thread that might help.  You could try the alternate print driver she suggests and see if this yields any change in your printer's speed.  Click here and follow Step 1 Clear Temp Folder and Step 2 Add Alternate driver as directed, substituting the different model mentioned therein with your printer's model name.   Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.  If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below and clicking to accept this solution. Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum.  Have a great day!

  • Iphone 3G gets very slow wifi specially on YouTube

Im having a very strange problem - I seem to be getting very slow internet speeds on my iphone when connected thru wifi - m laptop is on the same network and it goes blazingly fast however my iphone takes almost as much time as it does on edge networks - the youtube loading is so slow that its just not watchable from my iphone - however the same video loads at super speed on my laptop
Ive tried changing the setting from b/g to only b - but it still makes no difference.
If anyone has the same problem or if anyone knows how to help please let me know

Also having exactly the same problem, very low speed with Youtube. I'm using my Iphone 3G with Frtitz! box fon wlan 7140 router and have Internet from Inode Austria. When using my Dell laptop, everything works O.K.

  • Very slow wifi connection on my MBP

I'm having problems with my wifi connection on my MBP. My iPad, iPhone and iPod all work absolutely fine but for some reason I have a very slow connection on the MBP. If I connect it to the router with a wire it's fine so it's definitely the wifi.
The only other thing that's changed recently is our Internet package. But this hasn't effected any of my other devices and we actually upgraded our package so I think that's coincidental.
Is it a known problem with MBPs? Should I take it to the genius bar or is there a simple solution.
    Thanks in advance

thanks for the tip. unfortunately, removing the security from the router isn't an option as it isn't even my router (my roommate owns it and would never allow that to happen).
the thing that is perplexing is that it hasn't always been slow - this just started happening within the last two weeks. one could assume that if one computer experiences a slow internet connection, the other would as well if they are both going through the same router. secondly, the connection strength, despite it being slow, is at the maximum. finally, if i connect to any other network at school or coffee shop, the connection is fast. there's obviouly something specific to my MBP and the router that the computer doesn't like, which is causing the lag.
maybe my MBP doesn't like the channel that the router is set to. i'll look into getting it switched as it may be the root of the problem.

  • Printer connected to airport extreme very slow to print but when printer connected to iMac it is very quick to print

Early version of Airport Extreme station, 802.11g, saucer shaped model.  iMac wirelessly connected to internet via space station and modem and Canon MX700 printer connected directly to Airport space station and also printing wirelessly.  When try to print wirelessly, it takes about 1' 10" before printing starts.  When the printer is connected directly to the computer, printing starts almost instantaneously.  Because of internet disconnect which occurred occasionaly,  reset the Airport station and so far no internet disconnect problem but the printer is slow to start printing.  Printer software current but now have the slow printing problem.  I think I have set up the printer properly but do not know why it takes so long to start printing but so quickly when the printer is connected directly to the computer.

I know my post may be late, anyway I hope I can help.
The one main reason I can think of that ethernet is preferable to USB is who wants to run 20 or more feet of USB to network a printer. The cost of the USB cable would make it cost prohibitive. The Airport or generally any router/hub is not always nearby the network output devices. However small office/home setups where the devices and router are within a small area, reachable by USB, then your point is valid.
In any case, don't expect any help from AppleCare to assist you with the settings on the Airport side, Apple doesn't support connecting printers via ethernet . . . pretty lame response. I am really disappointed with the response and very shortsighted.
On the printer side, you need to set a static IP for the printer . . . one within your internal LAN IP numbers.
Before proceeding you will need the MAC address or Machine Address or Ethernet Address, it should look be a series of that will look like 12:32:00:00:21:02. If you print out your printer config page you should be able to find it.
From the Airport app, choose the Internet tab(icon) on the top of the window, then choose DHCP then hit the + key under the DHCP Reservations window. This will open up a series of windows, provide a description of the device, reserve by Mac Address>click continue> type in the Mac Address in the window, and then the IP address that will be static or reserved for only the printer.>Click Done.>Click Update> Router will reboot.
You will need to go to Printer Setup to make sure you have a printer looking for that IP address, and will need to do this on each workstation.
My experience with other brand routers are that they don't require the Mac Address, which caused the delay in figuring this out on my own, (a few hours) but it is working now . . . WHEW!

  • Photoshop loading photo files very slow (not printer)

For the past several weeks Photoshop C3 has been loading even the smallest of photo files very, very slowly -- about 10-15 seconds for one.
I read an earlier post to this affect, that said it might be a networked printer, but the printer on this computer is NOT networked.
I'm running Windows XP, latest update, with 3 gig of RAM. And we have deleted and reloaded the Photoshop program and updated it to make sure it's not a file goober in the program.
Anyone else experiencing this trend and/or have any solutions.

    John:
Thanks for the effort, but alas it didnt make any difference.
Our IT support crew tried a variety of generic drivers in the default mode, but a 56k photo still took 15 seconds to load.
However, I still had a version of "Photoshop CS" on my machine. So, out of curiosity I fired up CS and grabbed the same test photos, and bam the photo popped right up. So it is definitely a CS3 issue
Any other solutions that you know of?

  • RV220W: Very slow wifi connection???!!!

I'm an IT professional with more than 10 years experience. I have spent last 5 days trying to figure out why the wifi connection to this router is so slow, but still no luck. I'm getting only 13Mbps even if my laptop is next to the router! (wired connection worked ok)
I have tried all sort of setting combinations, 2.4GHz/5GHz; N only/ G,N Mixed;  Auto/20MHz bandwidth; different channels; WPA2 encrypted vs open; disable firewall; wmm enabled/disabled; 1.0.0.26/1.0.1.0 firmware... no matter what I try, I always get only 10 - 15Mbps speed.
Once I replace this router with my old router, it worked perfectly --- getting 70 - 80Mbps with exactly the same testing environment and configuration.
I really expect this router to offer much faster wireless speed according to this review:
