Very very weird anomoly...
Ive had this 12inch G4 since june or so and its worked fine for me, but today, as in the last hour or so, the display has taken on a very disturbing anomoly. Its rather dificult to explain, but about every other line of pixels is white/bleaced. This effect is strongest on the upper right hand corner of the screen and decreases in intensity going down to the bottom left, where the screen function is normal. These lines fragment all text/windows/and graphics that are open. They still project some color, for example where there is a letter, the letter does not have any gaps in it, but it looks like text smoothing is off.
Now I dont know how/why this happened, i havn't dropped/crushed it and no magnets or anything like that have been held near the screen. I suspect that the display may have been damaged a little bit from the cold weather, or possibly by a book in my backpack, but there is no evidence to support this. Does anyone have any ideas as to the cause of this? And does anyone have any ideas as to how to clear it.

Sounds like a bad logicboard/video wiring. Since you got it in June, it's still under A/C. Call/take it by Apple - just back up your stuff first.

First, let me start to say I am an IT Professional by trade and know a thing or two about fixing PC/Macs, but this one is stumping me. A friend has a 13-inch Mid 2010 MacBook Pro that started to run very very very slow. I figured it was just a bad mechanical drive and figured swapping it out with a new SSD would be the fix. Well, that didn't work and I couldn't even partition the new drive. I figured maybe I had a DOA drive, so I connected the new drive via a SATA to USB adapter to another Mac and a PC and it runs great. I researched the error I got during formating and it was recommended to replace the SATA flex cable. The part took about a week to arrive, so the battery fully died. I couldn't get the Mac wouldn't power up after replacing the SATA cable and I didn't get a charge light either. I figured OK, maybe I have a bad power cord, so I tried another and didn't work either. I can only get it to power up with a 85w charger, but it doesn't seem the battery is charing either. OK, so we have power but it's acting weird... and now I could format the drive. Thought that was it and I could call this one done. I thought the install was running very slow (maybe 15 minutes to preload all the setup files) but I still let the setup routine run over night. Woke up the next day and the setup was still running! I am running out of ideas what is going on with this MacBook Pro. Any ideas??jmkalfut,
I have the same model MacBook Pro as your friend. Regarding the speed of the setup, one possibility is that the new internal SATA cable is also faulty. What I don’t understand is the logic in this part of your post:

Why would the time it took to deliver the new internal SATA cable be the cause of its battery fully dying? Since you’re currently able to get the MacBook Pro to run by using a 85 W charger, what information is shown about the battery in System Information when it’s running? Perhaps its battery needs to be replaced? Have you tried using a different 60 W charger, to see if the original charger needs to be replaced? -

First my organize has Exchange on 2 site like
site A (internet facing) : 2CAS 2 MB all are Services pack1
site B (DR Site , no user active on this site) : 2CAS 2MB all are Services pack 1
so today I upgrade Exchange 2013 from SP1 to CU5 start on "site B" and I found this issue and the details is....
When I open EMS on any CU5 for query something (like get-mailboxdatabasecopystatus) the response return very slow and some query will not return at all (like get-owavirtualdirectory).
But If I using EMS on SP1. Everything is ok then I try to use EMS on SP1 connect to CU5 and try to query something. the result is
some query command cannot return for any result that are server on siteB (just some query command)
Problem
EMS on CU5 return very slow result.
EMS on SP1 still ok.
Does anyone face this problem before for CU5??? Please help me figure this out. Thank you

"all other command that I ran on EMS didn't logged on event viewer.", my environment is the same with you. I use Exchange 2013, only errors will be displayed in MSExchange Management. Actually, it is not related to slow EMS response.

I Moving the data from Cube to ODS . While i need to write a routine for an extra field in
ODS based on Billing Quantity in Base Unit of Measure . The Key Field in the ODS Is UNIQKEY
Transaction and It is a Characterstic in the Cube and we have MAterial as another
Characteristic and core element as navigational attribute .
In the Cube for every UNIQKEY transaction- there are more than One line items.
My data fields in the ODS are Billing Quantity in Base Unit of MEasure and and EXTRA FIELD
: No of Items in Transaction . But the thing is that I have only Billing Quantity in Base
Unit of Measure in cube as a key figure

Since updating my iPad 2 to ios8, it safari has been slow and crashing and some of the apps acting wierd. The password app doesn't work at all so had to find another way of retrieving all my passwords. Very very dissapointing. It appears from these forums that a lot of people are having the same problems wit this latest update.

Actually the Licensing information for the package is missing hence it is not launching any applications. You need to Reserialize the products using APTEE which you can find it on the Machine where you have created the package. If you dont have the access to that Machine then please download and install Creative Cloud Packager and it will download APTEE in the below mentioned location.

My macbook pro is running very slow and very very hot
hi everyone I have a 13 inch mid 2012 MacBook pro,
it is running very very slow and extremely hot, I downloaded a program called smc fan control and it is reading the internal temperature of my computer as 80 degrees Celsius. I was looking on the forums and saw that I should run an apple hardware test. which I have done and it is coming up with Error 4/MOT/4/40000002: EXHAUST-2003
what does this mean? is it something to do with my fan?
also there is a very strange clicking noise when I lift the mac up or if its on its side and sometimes it just randomly freezes, the computer does not respond and then it restarts.

The lint and crap builds up in the heat exchanger radiator. It's the grilled thing at the output of the fan.

Look at step 6. It's that grilled thing at the top of the fan. If you remove the fan that radiator is probably clogged with lint. Brush it all away and if possible blow out the fan with compressed air. Make sure the fan turns freely and doesn't feel stiff.

i'm using firefox 4.0 on an amd cpu running suse linux 11.4. i've completely turned off the gestures in suse (one of the first things i do, i can move a mouse very quickly and i like it to be a mouse!), i can't find a plugin or setting to turn these damn things off. the main problem is when i use the scroll wheel to rapidly move up or down a long web page and wind up on another page suddenly, very, very annoying! i really, really HATE gestures! then again i know how to use buttons etc. and i do mouse very quickly and creatively ( i also turn off several other "conveniances" like automatic window resizing, i know how to manage windows.....) thanks, i really, really hate these "features" being on by default, people with certain disabilites are probably also highly annoyed by the lack of choice in some procucts.

Then seagate will send PO number(of maxtor), PO line number,SO number(seagate), SO line number(seagate) to our company.
Then i have to write a report for sales order & delivery order.in these reports i have to refer seagate PO number & seagate SO number for reference.
i got PO number as vbkd-bstkd but not getting any field for reference Sales order.plz advice me on this. it is very very urgent.

Thanks MartinR, yes the Toggle bars can be adjusted so that I can see all the tracks - just in the smallest setting - however this also creates a huge area of grey which serves no other purpose than to "use up screen space". If this is deliberate then there is nothing one can do - since presumably the additional profit made on screen sales is more important to Apple, than the combined annoyance to those working on a 13" laptop. Of course a 15" screen or even 17" screen may make this wastage less obvious. Please indicate that this is all incorrect and explain why it is important to have space waiting "for additional tracks", even if I have no intention of making additional tracks. If that is the answer then perhaps additional space to the left and right of the timeline would be useful in case I wish to make a 30 minute film, so that it could be placed there without having to drag anything. It may be that I am expecting software than can be tailor adjusted, each parameter to the desired level as in professional items and since this is a cheap consumer program it is not possible.
I bought Final Cut Pro for a lot of money (when it first appeared it was thousands and not just hundreds) but never used it since it was too complicated and tedious, but maybe there, this problem of screen wastage does not occurr, perhaps someone can advise! I could go back and reinstall it, but it was made for 10.2.8 and not 10.6.8 so it would not run on this macbook. I recently bought an old 15" TitaniumPowerbook (from 2005) and despite running at 1MHz the response time on it is "instantaneous" - amazing to not have the almost half second delay on many commands - graphics appear nearly immediately (just 5 milliseconds delay) and this makes working so much more enjoyable, not having the (350ms) stutter of 10.6.8 which we all get used to after our initial disappointment.

Error during GR(very very urgent)

i am using a developed program for GR.i used this program before.there was no error.but now i am facing error like

In the selection screen, i am putting

i want to receive the material MAT of quantity 18,000 from that PO.initially i have ordered PO quntity as 1 lakh. Till now i have received 42,000 materials,now i try to receive 18,000 materials.but it is showing this type of error.
This error is fired from the return parameter of that BAPI only.error having message class-M7 & error no-022
is comming.
i am giving my coding below.plz suggest where is the problem.it is very very urgent.recently my company has added some patches to update the SAP.is this the cause for that error.plz suggest.

Adapter doesn't light up bright...just very very dim. No power on macbook
I got my macbook from a friend about 3 months ago (he purchase it about a year and a hlaf ago.) He spilled a beverage on it and it fried the battery but it still worked without battery.
About a week ago it wouldn't power on with the adapter, I purchased a new adapter assuming that was the problem. When I plugged it in to the macbook the LED is very very dim green and the macbook still won't power.
Last night it all of a sudden turned bright green and powered on and this morning it was back to dim and I can't get it to power for anything.
Do you think it is because of the liquid even having worked for 3 months after the spill...Would you have any tips to getting this to power on?Try here > Troubleshooting: My computer won't turn on

I've never come across your first problem on any of the Apple notebooks I currently own (or have owned in the past). Then again, perhaps I'm not looking close enough.
Have you compared it with any other 12" PowerBook? If not, perhaps you might be able to try that at a local store with units on display.
Otherwise you might want to give AppleCare a call. Alternatively, if you have an Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider near you (I don't know where you are located) then you can take it in to be checked.
As for your second problem (uneven illumination), that has been known to afflict other notebooks. My own 15" PB has had its screen replaced on two occasions because of this. Depending on the severity, you might be able to get it replaced. Mine became so bad that the screen was effectively unusable.
To be honest, here in the UK, I would actually try for a replacement PowerBook - if the problems were severe enough and also because your PB is still very new. However the consumer laws in your country (wherever that may be) might be very different to mine. -

for other texts created early also, in text editor cursor is much bigger...
help me...i resetted the formatting...kept standard formatting too...I would say it's not good choice. It's slow with large files (several megabytes). It supposes multiple features (pieces of text with different font sizes) you don't really need so calculation is slow.
I would choose JTextArea with own view to support colored chunks. You calculations of sizes are really faster because you have monospaced font and all chunks has the same char size.
For highlighting you can use Highlighter/HighlightPainters.
If you still the JTextPane is good read the articles http://java-sl.com/JEditorPanePerformance.html about performance improvement.
Neither JTextPane nor JTextArea are modal. You can place them in a modal JDialog.
