Very weak one bar signal on iphone 5. callers cannot hear me. Other iphones work good in the same locations. HELP

A network extender? Not sure what that is.. Sounds like it might help here at home.. But what about outside the house? At work, the store, or just out on the road?
I'm hopeing this is something that can get fixed.. I hate to think I wasted all this money on something that doesn't work.. Does apple have a return police?
I think I'll try getting an appointment at the apple store to see if they can fix this issue.

Yes. There are reasons why I want to keep it in vibrate instead of ringtone. At my work, I keep it in vibrate so that no one gets disturbed if I get a call or text. Specially in a meeting, I must put it in vibrate. When I have the phone kept on my desk in vibrate mode, I miss text or calls most of the time now. It never used to happen with my old iPhone 4s.
Also, I use my phone as a pager for my work and I want to keep it in vibrate in the night so that only I get up in the middle of the night when I get a page. I don't want to disturb others at home. I've been missing the pages now because the vibration is very mild and I don't hear even hear it. Again, I never used to miss the pages before on my iPhone 4s.

Very weak wi-fi signal. very unhappy

after not using the WiFi in my iPhone for about one month, when I try to connect to a WiFi network I have to be right next to the router (1~2 meters) , and even when I'm next to the router I get 2~3 bars, and when im out of the room my iPhone wont find the network at all! it's getting annoying!
it happens on all the Wi-Fi networks, i've tried 2 other network, but i got the same thing.
I've tried to restore my network settings, I've even tried hard reset, but nothing helped....

Satellite L855-10X - Very weak Wi-Fi signal

I checked some forums for help, but couldnt find anything useful. I came to conclusion that THIS IS NOT DRIVER OR BIOS related. Sometimes Wi-Fi is ok, sometimes its not.
I usually boost signal strength a lot if I move my laptop to vertical position, but keeping laptop at that position isnt very convenient.
Is there any magical way to fix it?

So i was watching some reviews on youtube and it seems that *even high class* laptops sometimes have wifi problems.
Sometimes those brands fix it with a software update.
So this problem could be software fault.
I would change adapter settings but there are none available..
By the way i updated every wifi update that TEMPRO suggested.
It is weird that Toshiba updated drivers 2 times in 6 months. 14th of September and 20th of December.
Still dint fix the problem.
Maybe there are drivers that work better?

Weak Wi-fi signal from Actiontec GT704WG B modem/router - need help troubleshooting!

I have been using a Verizon-provided Actiontec GT704WG B modem/router for a few years as my Verizon DSL connection. I connect my main computer to the GT704WG B via one of the Ethernet ports - no problem with this. I also have a laptop that (usually) makes a wi-fi connection to the GT704WG B. However, the wi-fi connection frequently slows down enourmously or dies entirely, at random times. The laptop is located downstairs from the modem/router, which is about the farthest physical location in ther house from the GT704WG B.
This may be a distance problem that might be solved by bringing the modem physically closer to the laptop, but I'm puzzled why the problem is intermittent. It's also possible that there is something wrong with the GT704WG B, that is causing it to transmit a weak signal.
Any suggestions for troubleshooting this problem appreciated.
I'd also like to know if anyone can suggest a router or range extender that might relay a stronger signal downstairs. Or should I try getting a more current modem/router from Verizon? That GT704WG B is a bit old...

You're welcome. I suspect there may be some confusion on which is which going on here. Repeaters and Access Points are two different things. Repeaters are single radio devices in most cases where the repeater takes the signal it is receiving from your router, and then re-broadcasts it. When this is done, half of the radio bandwidth goes towards receiving or sending data to and from your router. The other half of the radio bandwidth is spent transmitting to or receiving data from your devices that are connected to the repeater. It's similar to the game of Telephone. A direct connection to the network is faster, but if you must repeat the message over a medium you introduce delay. So, in more technical terms, a Wireless connection that operates at 20Mbps download or upload (Wireless is half duplex by nature) will operate at 10Mbps download or upload when attached to a repeater, since 10Mbps of the 20Mbps the repeater's radio can do is being used to transmit the message to one end.
In some additional terms since this part of my post got chopped off, what an Access Point is would be essentially another wireless radio with a direct, wired connection to your network. It can be thought of as an Expressway. Each device chooses the best wireless signal to use in your network (Router or Wireless Access Point) and then has a connection directly into the network. Both radios can run at 20Mbps and a single device will be able to get 20Mbps from either unit. These require more work but in heavy wireless usage environments, it makes sense to use access points.

Try resetting your phone: hold the on/off and home buttons simultaneously until you see the Apple logo (ignoring the off slider that appears first), then release. If the problem persists, try restoring your phone.

Hey, so i went to the apple store yesterday and explained the issue i had with a Genious there, She did a few tests to see if she could reproduce the issue (tried calling my phone) which produced the issue every try Lol.
We took a look at my account and she said that i was 20 days past warranty but since its only 22 days she would just ignore it and give me a replacement phone.
So if this happens to anyone else just book an appoitment with your closest Apple store and if you are in warranty or a few days out of warranty (in some cases) they will just give you a replacement phone without asking any questions.
If you dont have warranty and are past your warranty date by like a month or two they wont do the free replacement and instead you will have to pay 230$ for a replacement phone (thank god i didnt have to pay that LoL)

How many bars on the Sony Erriccson is strong?
You do know the number of bars shown can be different with different manufacturers?
What is most important is can you place and receive calls? If so with one or two bars showing vs two or three with another cell phone is what matters since how this is registered can be different with different cell phones.

Very weak vibration

Hi,
New to this forum and just got the Tour . I really like this phone except of the weak vibration. I can hardly tell when its vibrating. Some say their vibration is very strong while others have a very weak one like i do. Im always on vibrate and pocket the phone alot and its causing me to miss calls and messages.Im wondering if there is a fix or return it for a new one since im still on a replacement period. Also my signal keeps jumping from 4-5 bars to 1-2 bars all the time but i suspect an os upgrade could fix that unless im wrong. Wondering if anyone can tell me if there is a solution to the weak vibration on this phone.

I have the same problem with the signal strength bouncing all over the place, and the vibration being very weak. I'm confident that future OS's will address the signal issue, but I doubt much can be done about the vibration unfortunately

Those sound like good numbers. You could still be having an interference problem, though. Have you tried using a channel as different as possible from your neighbors'? A difference >= 3 is often recommended.
My neighbor' networks tend to appear and disappear. You might keep an eye on iStumbler's window, hoping to see whether your connection improves when a particular one shuts down. That could provide a helpful clue.
Have you made any recent changes in your home, such as a new heat source near your AX or new source of EMI?
I see you're using an 802.11b/g AX. If you're running the V6.3 firmware on it, I doubt that's the problem because I use the same. Furthermore, I don't believe the firmware for the b/g has been changed in quite awhile.

IOS5 on iphone 4 - Callers can't hear me!

I had just installed iOS5 on my iphone 4 recently. All was working fine but now suddenly my callers can't hear me on the phone but I can hear them very clearly. The same happens when I plug in the earphones too. The microphone in the phone is working cos I have tried and I can still record voice memos.
It seems like the phone is on constant mute. Can anyone help? Thank you!

I'm having the same problem with my iPhone4 S. First, I'll dial out and the I hear absolute silence but my phone indicates that it's sucessfully calling out (oh...and the party on th other line can hear me but I can't hear them). I thought my phone wasn't connecting to the caller. I'll call again and but this time the callers cannot hear me but I can hear them perfectly. I hang up and make repeated attempts and then reset my phone. It works but then I have the same problem with my next call. I don't want to reset my phone before every call! Very, very irritating.
