VESA floor stand for iMac, or equivalent

Howdy, I am planning a basic setup for simple compositions, based on Logic Pro. It will be in the living room, so it needs to be simple (no clutter), compact, and look reasonably nice. The keyboard controller will be a digital piano with built-in stand: a Yamaha, or Casio, or Kawai, one of those nice 88-key pianos with MIDI, that can also be played without turning the computer on. I will screw a sliding keyboard/mouse tray under the piano. I'd like the iMac to be positioned vertically just above the piano, and horizontally between the piano and the wall behind it, and still have the piano as close as possible to the wall. It seems to me that getting the iMac 24" and a VESA mount is the "thinnest" option, rather than finding a stand for the iMac. (I would need a 24" iMac because the 20" does not support VESA---not well, anyhow). But I haven't found a floor-standing mount that would make the iMac hover at the right height, centered at about 48". They are all too tall or too short. Screwing the mount on the wall is not an option because of some nice wood paneling. Does anybody have suggestions? Thanks!

that was the route I took this time when I updated to 10.5.6 - the downloaded combo updater rather than the smaller (half the size) Mac updater...
Pretty sure this is a combination of MTU, 2Wire 2701 oddities and me not knowing how to solve them directly (as well as the ipv6 stuff that's still showing in the logs despite IPv6 being turned off).
Anyhow, I did get it connected under the Ambit finally (took restarting the mac, not expecting that in the "switch" from windows xp)- and that really rocked. Now I'm working on teaching my 2Wire to be a dumb modem, to go with the operator
Actually, I think I'll just cut my losses for the moment and go with cable, once I find a good wireless router to connect the media center and xp box up front.

  • Looking for a flexible floor stand for the ipod2.

My 72 yo mother had a stroke and can only use one hand.  We just ordered her an iPad but she won't be able to hold it in one hand and touch the screen.  Any suggestions for a reasonably priced stable stand I can get her?
Please email me if you have the perfect solution.  Looks like there aren't any Apple products that fill the need.  [email protected]
    Thank you.

Cool.  Getting closer.  The way I implemented your suggestion affects the subVI only if it is open.  I can use this to do what I'm after, perhaps putting the code into each subVI.  Maybe open all subs, run the helper, and save.    Seems like I'm missing the elegant version...

  • VESA mount recommendation for tilted desk?

My desk is tilted about 5 degrees to the right. I'm interested in a VESA mount stand for my 27" iMac so that I can untilt the whole shebang. Any recommendations?

I just installed this mounting yesterday and it looks great.  One thing I should mention is that I had to remove the mounting after finding out that the right side back compartment cover where the I/O ports reside cannot be opened and removed after the mounting is attached, so remove the cover first before installing the mounting hardware!

  • HT5540 27" iMac Stand for VESA model

Hello,. I was wondering if Apple sells stands for their 27" iMacs (Late 2013 models) separately and how much they are.  I am considering getting a 27" iMac with VESA mounts installed for wall mounting. Would I be able to order/use a stand in the future?

  • Seeking Versa mount for imac 21.5, possible??

I am considering buying a 21.5 imac. However due to being short and visually impaired I really need to adjust the height of the imac to be proper for my eye level. To do this effectively I need to use a versa mount for monitor arm.
However, I was told only the 27 in. imac allow versa mounting. Any way to get a versa mount for the 21.5 imac without voiding my warranty?? If I cant, I will go get a macmini. I really wanted to use the OLED display and finally get rid of my 19in 20 yr old CRT. Help! Thanks

It uses a unique idea of attaching the VESA mount to the iMac utilizing a specially fabricated perforated nut & bolt for the cable passage through the stand.
Because the stand remains attached to the iMac it can be used as a small shelf under the Mac for storing a keyboard, a mouse or even a small external HDD.

  • Good stand for Macbook pro 15"

I am looking for a good stand for playing live. Tired of using whatever I can muster up at each show.

what do you mean by a stand? a keyboard stand kind of thing that goes on the floor? or a laptop stand that you can sit on a table?
I use an icurve stand on my desk for my MBP, which is perfectly fine for putting the screen at eye level. I use a wireless keyboard and wireless mighty mouse, so for all intents and purposes, my MBP pretends to be a desktop machine. but, this kind of thing might be dicey for live use cos the MBP just sits on it, in a live concert environment it could maybe fall off, depending on how hardcore the mosh pit gets and how many stage divers you encounter.
what about straps so you can hang it in front of you from your shoulders like an accordion?...
ok maybe not. but I did see another brand of laptop stand thingy other than the icurve in a store once, that was made of metal and seemed quite ok. you could probably get something like this and then get a keyboard stand and put it on top of that. or, you could use a keyboard stand and get a plank of wood or some kind of table top to put on it, so you can put your MBP and mixer and whatever else on it.

  • Best laptop stand for Retina

    Hi there,
I have a 15'' Macbook Pro with Retina Display and I'm looking for the best, most flexible and secure laptop stand for it.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!

Thats awesome! But....I found one from Rain Design. It is their newest one called the mStand. It looks like the foot of the iMacs and Cinema displays...it is very mac conscious. Here's a link to it:

I will use your gum eraser idea till it arrives though.

  • Like to know about the physical lock for imac behind

Like to know about the physical lock for imac behind?

The only product I'm aware of is the Griffin Cable Lock.
My personal preference is for a bike cable lock through the hole in the stand to an eyebolt in the wall behind.

  • Best video editing software available 2014 for iMac

Need suggestions for best video editing software available Nov 2014 for iMac.

If by best you mean the most editing tools and effects available, and used by most professional video studios, that would be either the Adobe Premiere Pro suite, or Avid. Neither of which is cheap. Final Cut Studio used to have a pretty generous share of that professional market, but FCP X was such a radical change to the app (not to mention not even being able to open standing FCS projects with it), many former FCS users switched to Adobe or Avid.
For inexpensive and still a lot of power, FCP X is a steal.

  • DVD burner for Imac G4?

I've installed a Pioneer DVR-112BK (BK just stands for black) in my 1GHz imac. should be fine for your model. It's very quiet with quick and reliable burn speeds. the Pioneer DVR-112DBK is the same drive but cheaper because it can't write to DVD RAM disks, only read them, so see if that's something you want.
the drive itself is a bit shorter than the supplied OEM but will still fit when you take the front casing off (necessary for any model of drive).
can't provide huge amounts of info for retail in the US but but OWC computing (http://macsales.com/) have a good customer service rep and specialize in Macs.
    hope that helps.
NB - make sure you research the process of opening the dome before you do. it's tricky (see links).

  • Canon printer software for iMac

    Hello,
The support software, drivers etc., for the Canon S900 and S9000 printers that I use with layout software such as Pages or Quark is, in my opinion, inadequate compared with how the same print machines used to function (dare I say, it) with a custom built Microsoft PC. Have we been sold a dud set because we don't favour Uncle Bill's PC's...
For instance, when I try to configure the PDP's with Canon data, nothing happens; it's as if Canon just doesn't belong to that elite lot that includes names like Epson, HP et al.
Or am I imagining all this?
    George in Bavaria
iMac 17 inch flat screen   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   also PowerBook G4 400.

I did exactly as you recommended below, but all that appears in the select window when highlighting S900 is "Canon ij Printer" (which presumably stands for ink jet printer).
Open System Preferences>Print & Fax>Printing and on the left side delete your printer. Then add a new printer to the now empty left side with . When the Printer Setup Utility window then descends and your printer is on the new list, select (highlight) it, then verify that "Print Using:" shows 4.1.5 rather than 3.9, and then click the "Add" button. After a few seconds, quit Printer Setup Utility, and quit System Preferences. You should then be all set.
Meanwhile I think the problem is really related to the Quark5 which uses OS9 via Classic in this computer. I found that it is using a Laser Writer 8 driver for reasons unknown to me! Perhaps I should invest in Adobe InDesign after all. But first I must sell a few pictures:-)
So thanks again for your detailed help,

  • What does Cc, Fc and Vc Components stands for?

    Hi,
I wonder ask for NWDI, normally in WebDynpro Components, we can see a few components such as Cc, Fc and Vc.
Does anyone knows what does Cc, Fc and Vc stands for and how do they differentiate from each other? Also how is their relationship with each other?

    Hi,
if your application contains like Cc and Fc and Vc, that must be the webdynpro application developed using the Floor plan manager architecture,
in MVC architecture we have model and the controllers and views,
    but in FPM,
every view have its own component like if you have 4 views in ur application u need to create four webdynpro components with prefix of Vc - vc means Visual entity
Fc stands for BLC - business logic component - it holeds the Model
Cc - configuration component - it will takecare about the navigation b/w the views which are available in different compnents i.e Vc's
mainly in the FPM we used componentization concept to communucate with other components
in the Fpm architecture we need not have out bound and in bound plugs to navigate b/w the views,
May be it will slove your doubt,
go through this link to know abt FPM

  • What does the "i" in "iPod" stand for and why is lowercase?

What does the "i" in "iPod" stand for and why is it lowercase?

I dont know, I think that was pretty funny.
The i first appeared as a prefix for the iMac. As this was the first one to be equipped with the internet it's a pretty safe bet to assume that it stood for 'internet'.
After that it became a bit of a signature for apple and a kind of unofficial trademark and gets used on everything cos apple think it looks trendy.
Although to be fair the iPod does play tunes that you download using the internet, so there is a link i suppose.
I think this is right but will no doubt get some Mac nerd disagreeing.
