Vevo App hangs on "Accessing Vevo"

I am an Apple TV user physically located in Hong Kong, but with an Australian Apple ID. When I turned on my Apple TV today, I was pleased to see the Vevo app.
However, when I go to the app, it says "Accessing Vevo" and the wheel keeps spinning.
Does anyone know if the Vevo app is geo-locked so it won't work if you're physically outside of your country?

Hi, I have a similiar issue...
First of all, the VEVO app does indeed have restrictions. Now, I have an Apple ID in the USA and I´m currently outside the country. You need to activate the VEVO app in their vevo.com site, by using a code shown on the settings screen. The VEVO site also works in the US only, so I had to use a VPN to enter such code and activate my Apple TV.
Once activated, my Apple TV is showing my playlists and the search screen works fine. The videos load instantly (again, outside the US)... But the main VEVO screen is still showing the "Accesing VEVO" message... Not sure why this happens but at least the rest works.

ADF app hangs when accessing through browser

Hello ADF/Weblogic friends,
When I try to access the ADF app, it says loading... for ever, which was deployed successfully in WebLogic. I do not see any visible errors in the log. Verified the DB connection which was deployed is working. Also created the datasource for the same db/jndi name in the server level.
The same app works through JDeveloper(11.1.1.4.0)
Configuration details are "WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.4.0", "Oracle Enterprise Manager - Fusion Middleware Control 11.1.1.3.0".
Would be helpful if somebody sheds light on this issue.

You are right about psadmin binary not being in psconsole.war.. maybe since it is portal server 6, it is some other executable.
When i asked the person who had given me the setup about psconsole not being available, he said that psconsole was working on his machine. He is not a technical guy and had not installed SJS 6 by himself. So he could not help me with this problem. It could be that the the psconsole.war file was missing from the installation.
I searched for the war files in both the installed directory as well as in the setup files and could not find it. : (
Anyway, i un-installed SJS 6 2004Q2 using the setup.exe (in windows) and while uninstalling it showed a window saying "psonsole was not found while accessing through the browser. Retry| Ignore| Exit". Also, the un-installation successfully removed all the services required for starting components like directory server, web server, calender server, (cacao also), etc...
I've downloaded Portal server 7.2. Let's see how that turns out... Thanks anyways...

Camera App Hangs On Startup

Hi,
the camera app hangs when I start it up. The shutter doesn't open (I can switch to the camera roll and view photos though). I tried restore twice, doesn't help. Sounds like a hardware issue to me!?

I forgot to post back with the results of my trip to the Apple Store. The tech restarted the phone with boot diagnostics which reported no camera present. His first thought was that the camera cable might have wiggled loose. He popped the cover, reseated the camera cable, and rebooted. Same result: no camera present. He deemed it faulty hardware and replaced the phone. I'm not sure how to access the boot diagnostics (Google probably knows), but it might be worth seeing if the camera hardware is detected. Hope this helps.

Every time that I tried to open it, in diagnostic and use create some files, in special one named LatestCrash-WifiSurvey.plist, this one generate an incident identifier E73B0164-CDFA-4E9E-839E-A0C021BD17A2, but this incident identifier change every time that I tried to open, the last incident identifier is: DE600EB3-AB57-4C33-8DE8-71F6788A7441.
After of it, I checked that the app had a new version available for downloading, I took a backup of my ipad and then upgrade this app, but is the same problem, all I want is to save the projects I had in this app, I´m afraid that if I delete this app and re-install it, probably I loss my projects.

Something that called my attention is part of the log that shows a big CPU processing, but the strange thing is I killed all applications.

Finder hangs when accessing external drive

My finder hangs when accessing an external drive.
It is specific to a drive the I created on my TC disk.
That drive and TC work perfectly unless I mouint it and alter anything on that disk (I can read ok but writing causes a freeze.)
The writing that I do is always ok; if I trash or move something it always ends up where I wanted it after a restart.
The process looks like:
I drag an item to the trash (or another directory) and the progress bar shows success down to 3 or 5 seconds and then it stops (curser becomes a spinning beach ball.)
I can hear the tone of a successful transfer if I wait a little while but the finder is unresponsive untill I restart.
Once restarted I can check the external disk and the file transer (to a directory or the trash) appears to have completed without corruption.
I have repaired drives and permissions all over the place with no results.
Can I just say that I tired of constant unnecessary updates that slow my computer, rearrange my settings and cause crashes and other problems that have to be researched and chased down through hours of online troubleshooting. I would love to have thoroughly tested software and hardware that just works without the hassle of having to constantly tweek my machine to get it to work consistantly.

Are you saying you have this problem only with one drive, not with others?

Java Swing App hangs on socket loop

H}ello everyone i've run into a bit of a snag with my application, its a simple chat bot right now but will evolve into a chat client soon. I can't do that however since my app hangs when i look through the readLine() function to receive data and i dont know how to fix this error. The code is below.

- String comparison should be done as

- Some basic debugging skills are well called for here, to find where the program is getting stuck. When in doubt, print out!

10.6 -- All Office 2008 apps hang at splash screen. FontCache Tool runaway

Did an upgrade of 10.5 to 10.6. Nearly everything works fine. Can't launch Office 2008. All apps hang at their splash screen; usually at Optimizing Font Menu Performance.
Once an app is opened, in Activity viewer you'll find a process called FontCache Tool using >90% of the CPU (on my Core Duo MBP at least, YMMV). I suppose it's saying a lot about 10.6 that the computer is completely usable with that runaway process. Even after forcing the office app(s) to quit, Font Cache Tool stays running until it's killed manually.
I have yet to find out if FontCache Tool is an Apple or MS process. I think it's microsoft.
This happens under multiple users.
This happens after reinstalling Office.
This was an Office 2008 upgrade from Office 2004.
After reinstall, and installing Rosetta, office 2004 will run, but office 2008 will not.
Office 2008 is 12.2.1.
I am running FontAgent Pro for font management, and so font book sees certain activated fonts as duplicates. (Validate fonts shows duplicate warnings but no errors). FontAgent Pro 4.0.3 is listed as Snow Leopard compatible. So is Office 2008.
I have yet to do a clean SL install, which I'm guessing will fix it, but I'm curious if there is a sub-sledgehammer approach, or if I am the only person with this issue.
Other probably irrelevant facts include that the computer is bound to both Active Directory and OS X OpenDirectory servers. Open Directory is running on Leopard 10.5 Server. It does have some managed preferences, including those for Office (e.g. to set default to .doc rather than .docx) but the situation persists even after removing those managed preferences.
Normally really specific problems are easy to isolate and solve, but I'm at a loss.

Hey i think i figured it out.
Had the same prob. 10.6 12.2.1 entourage hanging.
Renamed FCT, instantly prompted that a font was corrupt. Removed the corrupt Font: KufiStandardGK.ttf << this just happened to be my one corrupt font.
A little troubleshooting i did leading up to this, I read your post and my situation was the same. I use Linotype X to manage fonts. I disabled all but the minimum fonts (i moved them into a folder font_trouble in the same folder)
I also deleted every office pref/plist setting i thought relevant to startup which triggered the microsoft setup assistant (watched via the console app) and it ran through its check and then immediately the fontcachetool started and went awol on cpu time. Once i killed it--during the starting up of word and entourage... timing may be unrelated but i did them at nearly the same time.
Ps. Your post was extremely well written and I apologize for my stream of consciousness, less than stelllar response... hope this helps if not feel free to ping me for more details on what I did...

I have a USMLE world App which requires access to my photos in order to work. However, when I access Settings >privacy>photos, the app is not listed as requesting access. It is also not listed as an app under "settings".

Telexy SymSMB used to be such an app, but was taken off the market (Nokia demanded it, because apparently some Nokia employees were involved in developing the app). Don't know if anything similar has come out since then.

App hang up when opening cc files?

Are there any others having issues with opening InDesign CC files where the app hangs up and you have to force quite and restart it? This is happening way too often for me and I'm suspicious that it might have to do with Suitcase. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've already had to force quit 3 times today. Thanks!

BB10 cant block apps from internet access in Application Permissions?

I have a Q10. BB 10.1 OS.
It appears I cant prevent third party apps from gaining access to the internet among other settings under the Securities/Application Permissions. This is in huge contrast to my 9700 where I can very specifically dictate what program has access to, whether that be Wifi, Data, Bluetooth etc.
Is there another way to do this or is this OS not complete yet and these functions will be included back in future iterations? Or is my OS a dated version?
This is problematic for me. Seems this problem presents as both a security issue in cases where the third party app has mal-intensions, as well as being a data leech should the program constantly utilize data unbeknownst to the user.
Internet is just one thing. What about the camera, mic etc? How do we know ID thieves are not making BB10 disguised as something useful so they can data mine the users and send all of their personal information back to them via unfettered internet access, mic access, camera access, GPS location access (hence know home + work addresses) and then perform criminal activities using your data?
Im shocked. I thought Blackberry is supposed to be better in the security department compared to Apple. THis is what I expected from Apple and Android. Or is this the new thing? All third party apps purposefully get internet access whether the user agrees or not?

Great question. Unfortunately I don't have an answer, but can comment that these preloaded apps are using MB from my datapak that I paid money to have for MY personal use! Not theirs! I believe it's theft when they use what we pay for. Time to check legalities in my opinion.

App hangs on tab click if connection in use

If tab one is using connection1 and running a script and i click on tab2 which is also connected using connection1, the app hangs until tab1 finishes the script it was running and connection1 is again free.
Shouldnt each tab really open a new connection with the same parameters as the connection from the connections list? If not then it should at least not let you select any tabs using connection1 while connection1 is busy so that you can continue working on tabs with other connections.
I am using 1.5.0.53 on windowsxp.

By default, all worksheets use the same single threaded connection. To get a worksheet with an unshared connection, use ctrl-shift-N

App Hangs in 3 consecutive days

Our database & app hangs for the first time, 3 consecutive days (Aug 11,12,13) during run of batch jobs at 12AM.
The batch operator said the batch job is deleting a table with only less than 1000 rows but was not able to lock the table as there lots of updates queues from lots of client app.
I check the alert log for the said time period and this is the output. I saw similar occurences at 1AM
