Vews keps switching to Split View

I rarely use split view. Mostly just code view and
occasionally design view. However, quite often Dreamweaver will
just decide to switch over to split view with out me telling it to.
When it switches to split view the split is at the bottom, so I
can't see the design part. I don't want to ever be in split view
unless I tell it to. Is there any way around this? Has anyone else
had this issue? By the way I've had this same issue in MX, MX 2004,
and Version 8 so I don't think it's just my system. I'm currently
using version 8.

There are certain operations that require Code View to
provide the
necessary feedback, so if you are in Design View, DW switches
to Split
View as a compromise of sorts.
The only way around that is to make note of what operations
cause DW to
switch from Design View to Split View, and always perform
them from Code
View.

  • DW CS5 crashes when switching to split view

I have just checked other comments in the forum but none seem to really fit the issue. The moment I use the code for a page and switch to split view, DW crashes. It works perfectly with smaller HTMLs (e.g. HTML emails) but starts playing up as soon as I try to work on the code for a page.
    Any solutions.. ?
    Thanks!

This is a long standing bug, that for some reason Adobe can't seem to fix. It started with CS4, and remains in CS5.  Typically when looking at certain .aspx pages, when switching from design view to split view Dreamweaver will crash. Anyway, thanks to some investigation back in CS4, and a keen Dreamweaver user (jplaguna) we can all get back to working normally.  I thought I would repost this for anyone struggling with the issue.
The problem is with Dreamweaver's "Translators" - whatever those are?  Anyway, you simply rename that folder and your problems go away.
Sorry to hear that you've been having this problem. I'm glad that you found a way to work around the problem.
Translators are the code that recognizes certain pieces of server-side code so that you can select and manipulate them in DW. Turning them off disables features like Server Behaviors. Also, you can be more strategic by simply renaming the Translator for ASP.Net here:
      c:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS4\configuration\Translators\ASP.Net.htm
    Rename it to something like:
      ASP.Net.disable_htm
Then you'll need to restart DW. This will disable the Translator for only ASP.Net, not all of the other Server Models.
Can you post a .zip file with a page that causes the crash? I didn't see one in the original forum thread.
    Hope this helps,

  • Previews not displaying in split view in Aperture

Recently Aperture has stopped displaying previews for a number of photos (but strangely not all) when in split view. If I switch to browser view the previews are all there, and if I then return to split view they are back to being displayed. But if I move to another project and then return to the first they are gone again. I have repaired the Aperture database with no change, but not yet rebuilt it. This change in behaviour was not concurrent with an Aperture update. However there have been lots of updates affecting 10.8.2 since the most recent version of Aperture. Any thoughts?
    Thanks,

  • Is there a split viewing screen feature available for my iPad2?

Is there a split viewing screen feature available for my iPad2?

No, only one app can be open on screen at a time - so you can only have split screen if that particular app supports it, you can't havetwo apps visible (though you can switch betweens either via the taskbar or multi-tasking gestures)

  • Aperture Split View Misbehaving

The vertical photos in the split view bar have all switched from being displayed vertically/normally to being rotated and showing "squashed". They only do it with photos imported from my Sony DSV-HX5V, not iPhone or other cameras. Any ideas?

    A few simple things first:
    - Does the problem persist after closing and re-opening Aperture?
    - Are they distorted in Grid view?
    - In Split view, does changing from Filmstrip to Grid (still in Split view) correct the distortion? Does changing the size of the Previews in the Split view grid (use the slider) correct them?
    - What happens when you select one Preview, and select "Update Preview" from the context-sensitive menu?

  • Aperture Split View Problem

The vertical photos in the split view bar at the bottom have all switched from being displayed normally to being rotated and showing squashed and distorted.
I have tried to close and re-open Aperture, and I have also restarted the computer.  The pictures are distorted whther they are in the Grid view or Filmstrip.  I also tried to "Update Preview", but it tells me that it is up to date. The horizontal/landscape pictures are showing fine, the problem is only with the vertical/portrait pictures in the Split view.

Select all the ones in one Project and run "Photos→Generate Preview".  Does that work?
"Update Preview" changes to "Generate Preview" when "{Alt}" is pressed.

  • Split view of table so top rows & bottom rows can be viewed simultaneously

I sometimes work with large tables (thousands of rows) and need to be able to see what's in the top few rows and bottom rows at the same time. This is easy in Excel; there's a gizmo at the top of the vertical scroll bar that can be used to give a split view. I'm a newcomer to Numbers and have not yet found a way to do this. Any ideas, or is it simply not possible?

I know this isn't a great solution but if you really really need to see part of the top and part of the bottom of the spreadsheet at the same time, you can hide the rows in between and unhide them when you're done
Another, maybe better but still not so great way would be to use the filters in the reorganize panel:
Add a new column. In that column, put a character (a dash, letter, etc) in the rows you want to be visible. In the reorganize panel, make a filter to show only rows that are non-blank in that column. You can quickly switch the filter on and off from here.
Neither solution is very dynamic (you can't scroll through the bottom half of the spreadsheet while still looking at the top) but it may help if you are messing with only a few rows at a time.
Lastly, if the top rows you need to see are header rows, you can freeze them. That's similar to the split view in Excel but can only be done for headers (of which 5 is the max).

  • Split view layout

I have only accomplished this by accident, and can't figure out how it happened, but can someone tell me how to have all of my split view windows show my movement at the same time so I don't have to keep stopping and starting as I switch viewing angles.

lol... yes I know that. I am not new to Motion. I just can't figure out how to force both of my windows to update at the same time, like when you scrub. I have seen it happen a few times while I am working but I don't know why or how.
To clarify: I have the Active Camera and the Perspective views active at the same time in a two view setup. I scrub through my timeline and both views display the movement of my composition. When I press the play button, only one of the views plays back in real time. The non-active view waits until I press stop, and then jumps the the current playhead position.
I am looking to know if it is possible to have both views update simultaneously on playback. I may be mistaken that I have seen it done, but I am confident, although not positive, that I have seen it before.

  • Split View: Should be easy but...

Ok. So I have a Split View. It looks a bit like this:
    Split View
    - Tab View
    - Scroll View (Text View)
A vertical Split view displaying two things: the Tab View on the left, the Text View on the Right.
    I want to change this.
Is there any way of switching the sides? Making the Tab View go to the right and the Text View to the left? and once my app is compiled, is there any property/method/code that would allow the user to change this at runtime?
    Thank you a lot!

To switch the sides in Interface Builder, the easiest thing to do is unembed the views from the split view, move the views, and embed them in a split view.
    1. Select the two views in Interface Builder.
    2. Choose Layout > Unembed Objects.
    3. Move the views.
    4. Select the two views a second time.
    5. Choose Layout > Embed Objects In > Split View.

  • Aperture - Browser, Split View, and Viewer

Photos in my browser will not wrap around into rows. I have just one row which goes right off my screen. I also have this problem in the split view with the thumbnails. And in viewer I have no photo at all. Can anyone suggest a way to fix this problem???

You should have a row of icons along the top of the Aperture window. In the top right are icons which will directly let you switch to "Browser", "Split View" or "Viewer" mode. If you do not see any icons, click the grey oval in the extreme upper-right corner of the Aperture window (it toggles the icon toolbar on & off).
Click the "Split View" icon to switch to that mode.
You should have an image taking up most of the window, and a row of other images along the bottom. If this is just one row which you can only pan left & right then you are in "filmstrip" mode.
Just above the strip of thumbnails at the bottom is a pull-down field that lets you select the sort order, and three icons just to the right. They select whether you want to be in "Filmstrip" mode (which is what it sounds like you are in right now), "Grid" mode (which is what it sounds like you want), and "List" mode. Click the middle icon to switch it to "Grid" mode.
If you aren't seeing enough of your images, you can re-apportion the window. There's a thin gray line dividing the larger picture above from the thumbnails below. Float your mouse directly over that thin gray line and your mouse pointer should switch to a line with an arrow pointing up & down. Press and hold your left mouse button while sliding the mouse up or down to change the proportion of the two sections of the window.

  • Dreamweaver 8.0.2 -- code view is totally screwed, so is design view. Split view works fine.

I just started having an extremely annoying issue in DW8-XP.
The code view is completely messed up. I can switch to code view,
but nothing is there. Just a ghost of the split view I was just in.
If I open a new file (like css file) in code view, I see a ghost of
the last view. Since css files don't have a split or design view,
I'm screwed. Cannot firgure out how to delete the config file. Do
you think this would help? Would it erase any settings I have
    currently set?
I tried switching to a default layout, restarting and all. No
    luck. Little help? :D

    Restart the system.

  • Two Code Split View

In Dreamweaver there is a possibility to view code with design in parallel, view desing or code only, or switch to split code view, which allows user to see the same document and move to it's different parts. However, as far as I understood there is no possibility to view two different source codes in the same time. What if I am building the page and need to get some ideas or some parts of the codefrom another one? I believe that would be very nice if there was a chance to see one code and edit another one simultaneously.
Hope I'm mistaken and DW CS5 allows that.

    You mean like this?
In CS4 that's under the Window menu which give you the option to cascade or tile your documents.

  • What happened to Split View?

I wanted to watch the Macword Keynote today to see what features Steve put out there that we don't currently have.
    One is "Split View" email:
This allows us to see the email message in the current window with the email list at the top, and the mail message at the bottom.
I also wanted to put out there that I can confirm there are 2 extra tabs at the top of iTunes that they previewed, the second to last on the right vaguely makes out "ringtones".
Regardless, at the bottom there is an additional green color category that you cannot make out the text to.
Back to the question... What happened to split view on email?!?!?

It's just annoying, he really spent some time on it.
    Hopefully in an update.

  • Dreamweaver CC crashes when switching from code view to design view

I am experiencing a recent problem with a file I am currently working. When I switch from code view to design view Dreamweaver crashes and requests a shut down. Other files seem to work without a problem. This particular files has 3 cascading EdgeAnimation CC files that are selected by media queries. I can test the page online without a problem but not in design or live view.

Since your new page didn't crash, this leads me to believe that you have some critical errors and/or conflicts in your other page(s).
