VG 224 Voice Gateway using MCGP for fax

Does anyone have any experience or configs to set up a VG224 Voice Gateway to manage via Call Manager 4.1 using MGCP (for inbound/outbound fax)? SSCP is currently set up, but seems unstable.

Does anyone have a experience or a config for running MGCP on a VG224 voice gateway (using it for inbound/outbound fax)to Call Manager? I've set up SCCP and it worked initially but in production it drops calls and does not respond after reboot without re-enabling SCCP and STAPP

I deployed 5 of these to service a mix of phones and faxes a few months ago using MGCP.
I used fax passthrough; we've had 0 problems so far with the setup.... customer has had several power cuts and no startup problems.

Voice gateway SPA8000 problem sending faxes.

Hello, I am a representative of the corporation Kazakhmys using the whole range of your devices. The problem is as follows: Voice Gateway Cisco SPA 8000 does not send faxes to voice gateway Grandstream GXW4232. The problem occurs only if the two voice gateways work with each other. The call comes to the SPA 8000, but after lifting the handset, the session immediately reset. What settings I need to change?

It seems you have RTP packet Size set to 30ms. It's not optimal even for voice call. You should not exceed 20ms for voice, for the fax I propose you to use 10ms.
Note it may not solve your problem, but it increase reliability of fax session.
But now back to the issue. If I understand correctly, the attached log has been captured on
Cisco-SIPGateway/IOS-15.2.4.M7
OK. It seem that most important line of such log is:

If I understand correctly the log, the call has been terminated by SIP Gateway.
I see no apparent issue with ATA8000 (not counting the Packet Size value mentioned on top). There is a problem with SIP Gateway. Unfortunately, I'm not expert on the matter nor this forum is best forum for question related to SIP Gateway. You should ask on IP Telephony forum instead.

Can't establish a Voice gateway (cisco 2911) using SIP with CUCM 9.1

I have configured a Cisco 2911 as a Voice Gateway using SIP (the configuration is attached), but unfortunately can't establish a test call to a phone (CUPC 8.6 SCCP) using csim start. I have done logging the ccsip debug and ccapi debug and attached them. Could anyone help me to solve this problem?

I just did some research on my end and csim is not supported for SIP. The Invite will never be created and sent to the CUCM to initate the call. It disconnects in the router itself with normal cause.

I want to use Cisco 3660 Router or 3745 Router for Receiving FAX on email. I have NM-2CE1T1-PRI which supports E1 R2 signalling on 3660 and 3745 both. What are the additional hardware requires? Kindly Help.

You could use T.37 Store and forward fax which has the feature called Onramp faxing.
On-ramp faxing, in which a voice gateway that handles incoming calls from a standard fax machine or the PSTN converts a traditional Group 3 fax to an e-mail message with a Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) attachment. The fax e-mail message and attachment are handled by an e-mail server while traversing the packet network and can be stored for later delivery or delivered immediately to a PC or to an off-ramp gateway. Issue on Cisco ATA 186 used for Fax

Hello everyone;
I have a cisco ATA 186 connected to an analog Fax on one side, and the other side is connected to the network containing a CUCM 8.6.
The problem is that when i try to send a fax throught it , half of the paper is transmitted or an usual occupation tone comes; while vocal communications are performed normaly.
Any idea of what could be the problem.
NB: the fax emission is between two distant sites relied by optical fiber.

Here below more informations about the issue:
- It does work sometimes, but it did never worked properly.
- the problem is there for both sending and receiving.
- for the PSTN transport, i have no idea.
- I tried to change the ATA by another, still the same problem.
- ATAs work properly for voice communication.
- when i call this fax number internally the signal comes along.
- the problem is when faxing internally, it isn't used for external faxing.
- the call flow for internal faxing is like this:
Analog fax (in site A) > ATA (in site A) > access switch (in site A) > core switch (in site A) > cucm (in site A) > Core switch (in site A) > router (in site A) > optical fiber > router (in site B) > core switch (in site B) > cucm (in site B) > core switch (in site B) > voice gateway 248 (in site B) > Analog fax (in site B).
the problem occures when sending internal fax between these two sites A and B, when calling site B from site A, the ringing tone comes aloso the fax signal, but when i try the send the paper the stange tone come along and only half of it pass and it get to the site B as a blank paper or a half blank paper.

Recently we have implemeted SS7 Interconnect for Voice Gateway Solution in our network.
We are using devices PGW2200, NAS 5400, SLT 2611, 4000 Series S/w and GK.
Customers compalint that they are facing Echo, Clip in Voice and No voice related issues. Can you tell us the commands on PGW/GW/SLT to pinpoint. PGW we are using in Call Control Mode.

You can check in the /opt/CiscoMGC/etc directory properties.dat file which has the parameter *.EchoCanRequired which should be set to 1. This can binded by an individual trunk-group as well. Also make sure the voice-ports have the echo-cancel coverage and disable VAD to see if it makes it better.

One number for faxing and for voice

Hi,
I would like to know if it possible to have one number for faxing and for voice.
What I have read up is that Cisco can detect the fax tones. What I would like to do is route all inbound faxes to a viop dial-peer and all voice to another e1 port.
I am just looking for some more info if this can be done.

Yes this is possible with either cisco fax relay or t.38 fax relay.

The Ipad is on a short cable to my projector. I am usually on a podium 30 feet away. No infra red receiver on the IPad and
the Iphone remote needs wi fi which is not always available in all the locations I do my teaching and lecturing in.

I'm using GarageBand for voiceover and my voice is only recording in one track. How do I get it in stereo?

I'm using a Bluebird mic hooked up to speakers and MAudio Fast Track interface. I went to GarageBand preferences and set up the recording for MAudio and stereo but it's still recording in mono. Any suggestions?

Ports required for voice gateway registration

Hi,
Currently our remote office voice gateway is trying to register to the CM and in between there is a firewall. We have opened port DNS, NTP, 2427 and 2428 but it still showing registering to the call manager. What other ports shall we open to make it works?
What about the port requirement for CUE?

Using NW Gateway 7.40 for many customers

We are analysing use in the our office use the Server NW Gateway 7.40 for many Costumer configuring diferent Alias accessing the Backend, is there some technical in Odata for this usage for many Costumers ?

I'd like to share some updates on this:
We discovered, that the line having "$internal/check" within SecStore.properties was indeed commented out. However we did not do that manually. We removed the comment from that file manually (which might be a mistake) but in doing so we at least got some progress but having some other errors:
We find now following Messages in the dev-jstart-logfile:
