VGA output for Ipad

Is there anyway to show spreadsheets from Numbers on the iPad? Presenting at meetings would be way easier if I could. Or if there was an easy way to link things into keynote, that would work too.

Only way I know is to take a screenshot (home+sleep) and import the image into Keynote.

  • Having problems with my VGA adaptor for iPad.

I bought the VGA adaptor for iPad from BB the other day, and when it arrived, I could not get it to work with my iPad (iPad 1 with latest OS). I tried adjusting settings on my monitor (I'm using it with my second computer monitor, a 24" AOC brand), but I could not get anything to display. I tried plugging it into my new iPhone 4S, and it worked flawlessly with every application. I then tried using it with my new iPod Touch, with latest OS installed, and it would not do anything either. So I have this adaptor for iPad, and it works with my iPhone 4S, but not my iPad or iPod Touch. Does anyone out there have any answers or suggestions?
    Thank you for your time...

    JCinINDY-
The iPad 1 only sends video to the adapter when a slideshow or a video is playing.  You can not see the normal iPad 1 display on a VGA screen.  It does not support "mirroring" the way an iPhone 4S will.
That said, it is possible you have a bad connector on the iPad 1.  If you can take it to an Apple Store Genius, they should be able to verify whether or not it is working correctly.

  • HT4108 Vga adapter for ipad not supported

I've been using the vga adapter with a projector, but of late I've not been able to use it with my ipad2.

    Hi nlrutt,
You do not mention whether your issue - a 30 pin to VGA adapter not working with your iPad - is with an Apple adapter or not. I will assume that it is and therefore it should function correctly.
I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
iOS: About Apple Digital AV Adapters
    Specifically -
    Troubleshooting
If you encounter an issue using the Apple Digital AV Adapter or VGA Adapter:
Disconnect and reconnect the adapter from the iOS device and display.
Connect directly to the TV, projector, or external display using a known-good VGA or HDMI cable.
Remove any VGA or HDMI extension cables or converters.
Note that accessories that convert a VGA or HDMI signal to other video formats (DVI, Composite, Component) are not supported.
Ensure that you are using the latest version of iOS. Some Apple Digital AV Adapters require iOS 5.1 or later.
Note: When using an Apple Digital AV Adapter manufactured before early 2012 with iPad (3rd generation), you may see the "This accessory is not supported" alert. Dismissing the alert will allow you to use the adapter.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,

  • How to fix my headphone output for ipad ??

I have a problem in the ipad for headphone output , the voice coming not clear . How can i fix this ???
    Many thanx for help :)

Try this ....Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • After IOS 7, i am no longer able to play Netflix V.5.0.2 on TV with the VGA adapter for IPAD 2

Once IOS7 was realesed I upgraded my IPAD 2 software. Later i upgraded Netflix version for IOS 7 and suddenly i could no longer display Netflix on my tv using the cable VGA to IPAD adapter.
At first a alert appeared saying that i needed to disable air play, but did not know how to do it. When a bugged and Fixed version for Netflix came out, I upgraded it and now the only thing tha is displayed on the TV are subtitles but no image.
    Can someone help me?

That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots  and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

  • Using Apple Digital AV Adapter and sound output for iPad 1

    Hi all!
I'm trying to hook up my iPad 1 and iPhone 4 to a projector through HDMI that has very weak speakers. My solution is to hook up the video through HDMI and use my headphone jack or use my device speakers for sound. At first I thought it'd be okay because people on this forum say the headphone jack will still work, but no one that posted these question have an iPad 1, they all had the 2nd gen. Does anyone know if it also works with iPad1 and iPhone 4? i know mirroring won't work on my devices, i'm just looking to use AirVideo and Plex to run my videos.
    Thanks in advance!

What apps are you try to dsicplay via TV out? On the iPod TV out only dispays with apps that support TV out. The Video app is one of them.

  • VGA Adapter for iPad

Help. I built a photo presentation on my iPad using the Keynote app. yesterday I stopped into the Apple store and picked up a VGA Adapter so I could view the presentation via projector. I can't seem to get it to work. The projector works with my laptop, but not the iPad. Any ideas out there?

I would troubleshoot by trying out a monitor rather then the projector
then I would try using apps I know to support the adaptor like video and youtube and pictures and the likes
and see where that lead me

  • VGA Mirror for iPad (1)

Question to the Apple-Team: are there any plans to make the mirroring of the VGA-out possible like it is on the iPad 2? Only marketing-reasons could speak against such a solution. A lot of users will be very happy wih this feature!

This is a user-to-user forum, Apple does not listen here.

  • VGA output to External Monitor or Projector

One of the main reasons I bought the iPad is to start using it as my travel devise instead of the bulky MacBook. I make a lot of sales presentations using Keynote but I also have to demonstrate Web application using browsers such as Safari. I was totally crushed to discover that the VGA output only works with certain applications and DOES NOT WORK with Safari. So much for using the iPad as a travel device! You would think given that using a browser is at least 50% of what most people do on these devices, Apple would have found a way to provide VGA output for Safari! They certainly missed the boat on this one big time.
Does anyone know of an App that would allow you to run the browser through a "Video" wrapper so it can be seen on an external monitor or projector? Here is an idea for a creative developer to make a ton of money! It will make my iDud (did I say that?) be worth taking along on a trip. If i am staying home I can watch movies on my desktop, I don't need the VGA for watching movies!

First and foremost, I love my iPad, using it for the many things it does as my personal tablet is great!
While experimenting with it for a mobile work device, or a lightweight travel device, I've had mixed results.
I understood when buying the iPad that it was not a Mac or PC replacement, I'm just surprised at the limitations.
On the VGA out cable, I gotta say I tried to do the same level of research, but unfortunately being a relative newby to the Apple experience, I fell for the Apple makes it quicker simpler easier, they think of everything hype. I too thought that a VGA out cable would do exactly that and did not see anything that described the limitations.
I also think Apple missed the boat here, they could have made this the perfect lightweight travel/mobile companion device to whatever Mac/PC is sitting back at the office. I understand they are trying to protect their Mac business, but this could have been a perfect Trojan horse for them. By getting PC users hooked on Keynote/Pages/Numbers on an iPad, they would have been more inclined to purchase a Mac to replace whatever they currently have.
    I know I would have.
I'm using this in business today, I'm accessing all of our web enabled back office tools without issues and using webmail to access outlook, basically 75% of my daily work can be accomplished on my iPad.
The webex app works great, but doesn't support the VGA out (nor did it say anywhere that it would or wouldn't).
The remaining 25% of my works needs fall to these apps:
I want to use Numbers, but can't, since it won't export in .xls format, which is what the rest of my company, is standardized on.
I will be able to use Keynote in a Kiosk mode at tradeshows or in meetings to project via the VGA connector, but won't be able to use it for any serious work since I can't export in .PPT format.
I won't be purchasing Pages, while it does save in a .DOC format, I'm now leery of what it won't do, and without the ability to use Numbers and the limited use of Keynote, this keeps me from using this more in the business world.
While it may sound like I’m whining, I’m not, I’m trying to express a few of the short comings, that could have made a similar impact to my business life as it has within my personal life.
In addition, for folks doing research, I hope this helps clarify some of the items that appear to be more difficult to find.

  • I have an iPad 2 and want to use video mirroring. I bought a VGA adapter for the iPad, iPhone and iPod so that I could plug the iPad into any monitor, TV, projecter, etc without it being an HD device. I plug it in and it appears the monitor has no communi

I have an iPad 2 that I want to use with video mirroring to give lectures with. I bought a VGA Adapter for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod as I want to be able to connect with any TV, monitor or projector for lectures, not just an HD device.. After plugging in my iPad to the VGA adapter and then to the video device, it appears that there is no connection with the iPad. Anybody have any thoughts?
    Thanks, Steve

  • Is there any Vga adaptor for the Ipad 2 that is VIDEO IN rather than OUT?

Is there any Vga adaptor for the Ipad 2 that is VIDEO IN rather than VIDEO OUT? is for a student with visual impairment who needs to view the classroom digital board content from a very short distance, like the distance to an Ipad for example, so the Ipad would be ideal as an interactive monitor with typography and content easy to amplify.
At the moment, this student has a traditional flat screen monitor taking over the table next to him, so no other child can seat in it, and he has no opportunity to befriend and sporadically joke with anybody else. So much for "inclusion".

Speaking as a teacher ... Why can't he have a student on the other side of him?

  • What audio interfaces for iPad are there that give stereo outputs?

I've had persons tell me that an iPad is not good to use as you would a computer in DJing because it can't do split stereo outputs. I was thinking that perhaps an audio interface that connects through the dock might fix that. Can anyone give me a list of such interfaces?

    DJ Arctic wrote:
From what I understand, most headphone splitters (like the Griffin DJ Cable) split the stereo track into two mono tracksone for pre-cueing, one for what the audience hears.
Note that the Griffin DJ Cable does not fall into the same category as "most headphone splitters". It is made specifically with a stereo/mono output for the algoriddim djay app.
This is one of the mono output cables you would need to specifically hunt down.
    DJ Arctic wrote:
If you know of a headphone splitter that doesn't do that, but gives two stereo channels, I'd be glad to take a look at it.
All of these are single stereo to double stereo outputs -> Headphone splitters
Ask for a headphone splitter in just about any store (Walmart, Best Buy, Target, 7-11) and you'll get what you want.

  • Best output settings for iPad?

Since FCP doesn't yet have a share setting for iPad, does anyone know what the optimum settings might be. PAL, if that makes a difference.

How does the iPad see video? How are you going to connect the iPad to the file?
You might post or search the iPad forum.
AFAIK, it's just a Quicktime-aware appliance. Any iPhone or iPod template will get you started.
