Vga to dc cable

Can you connect a mac mini to a dvd player? If so i need an adapter cable so i can hook up my mac mini to a portable DVD player. It has to be vga to dc(9v) or an av cable. do you know where i can find one. i have searched google but i havent found any so far.

It's not clear to me what you're trying to do. Do you want to use the DVD player as an external DVD drive? This won't work unless the portable DVD drive has a USB or FireWire port.
Do you want to play a DVD movie in the portable player and have it appear on the screen that's connected to the Mac mini? This may be possible, but it's going to take an expensive analog to digital converter to get that to happen.
Or do you want the Mac mini's screen to appear on the portable DVD player's screen? If so, what kind of "video in" ports does the DVD player have? (If any? I don't know why a device like that would have any.)

  • VGA to SCART Cable

Hi. My TV doesn't have VGA or DVI input. It only has SCART. Can somebody please tell me if MacMini will work with VGA to SCART cable?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Based on the specs of the LG unit:
    (a) SCART to VGA: Most likely the signal frequency on VGA port of a normal computer monitor does not match the signal frequency of the SCART port therefore you can't get the pictures/images.
    (b) SCART to DVI: you need more than just a cable, you need a converter because SCART uses analog signals and DVI use digital signals.
    Regards.

  • TelePresence VGA to DVI cable and conduit

We have a new CTS-1300 system with a presentation cable which has a VGA connector on the user side and a DVI connector on the codec side.  Currently the room has a 1 1/2 inch conduit installed under the floor between the conference table and codec.  The VGA to DVI cable that comes with the TelePresence system will not fit through the conduit so I would like to purchase a cable that has no end on it and pull it through the conduit then install the VGA connector.  Tripp Lite makes a cable similar to what we need called the Easy Pull but the cable ends are either both VGA or both DVI.  We might be able to find an adapter for one of the ends but that just adds another point of possible failure.  Has anyone found a company where they sell a cable similar to the Tripp Lite Easy Pull that is factory made with a VGA on one side and DVI on the other? One other thing to consider is the Cisco cable contains "mini" style audio connectors attached to it as well where the audio appears to be directly connected to the DVI connector whereas the VGA audio looks like it is coming out of the cable bundle.

Thank you for the information.  I no longer work at that company where the installation occurred so I can't test it.  But this information will be useful for future installations if I run into the issue again.

  • How to get sour to play through mini display via vga without sound cables?

I know that many of you guys might tell me that this question is stupid or that it is impossible to do it but i run in to problems that usually the company that made the product can't asnwer it all the time. So here it is. I have the mid 2009 MBP 17 in. 2.8ghz Core 2 duo. I've been using a minidisplay to VGA cable to connect to a sony briva tv since i've had it. and most time i'd have to plug in the 3.5mm jack to get the audio working. but once just once my mac decided to give all the audio control over to the TV without the auxilary cable plugged in. See, i accidentally pressed play and i started to hear sounds. but it wasnt from my mac. and the volume was completely up to the control of the tv. it was weird yet convinent, but as i was checking the connection to see what the **** i did, i took it out of clam mode which swithch my resolution and reconnect the display with the sound having to go through the auxilary again. So if any of you have had this luck and know how to do it please help me out.

  • Going from DVI to DVI cable from VGA  to DVI cable problem

Got a mini with the VGA adapter to DVI working with no problem. When I decided to hook up a DVI to DVI cable, I got no picture. I had to reach behind the mini, press the power button to put it to sleep, then press the power button again to wake up the mini again to get a picture. The monitor is a 20.1 inch AOC monitor. The picture is sharp in both cases. The DVI to DVI setup is slightly smoother.

After I reboot I still get no picture. I have to reach behind the mini, press the power button to put it to sleep, then press the power button again to wake up the mini again to get a picture.

  • Yoga 13 HDMI connection to VGA or DVI cable

Hi, does anyone know what kind of cable can support connecting the Ideapad Yoga 13's HDMI port to an external monitor with either a VGA or DVI connection? Maybe provide a link to Amazon to a page with a cable that supports this? Does it need anything more than the cable itself like a converter or something? Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    hi ScoobyDoo,
    Welcome to Lenovo Forums!
That is going to be a Digital from the yoga to an analog VGA/DVI.
this kind of conversion does not require a transcoder. so you can go ahead with Cable Coverters only.
Here are some you might want to check:
StarTech 6ft HDMI to DVI-D Video Cable M/M
    HDMI to VGA Adapter
Black HDMI Input to VGA Adapter Converter For PC Laptop
You can check this out on how to switch the display.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/multiple-monitors#1TC=t1
Audio transfer will not work with this kind of conversion Normal HDMI out to HDMI in will transfer both Audio and Video to a TV.
    Hope this helps,
     Cheers!!

  • Vizio hdtv via VGA to HDMI cable - can't get correct resolution

I'm trying to configure the resolution for a Vizio va22lfhdtv10t on a Mini. When I used a DVI to VGA adapter the resolution was very good at 1920*1080. Now that I'm using a DVI to HDMI cable it defaults to 1080p with 30hz refresh. Font resolution is terrible on this setting and only marginally better when trying the other resolution options. I have seen some posts about creating a custom resolution, but don't know how to do this, or if there is a danger of damaging the LCD with improper settings. Has anyone gotten this HDTV to work other than as a VGA display?
    Thanks!

1920 x 1080 is the native resolution, so (a) I wouldn't try any other resolution, and (b) I'd ONLY use a digital input (HDMI).
If you're getting crummy unsharp pictures, it sounds as if the TV's scaler is working. You need to look for a menu setting (on the TV) to turn off the scaler. It might be called something like "1:1 pixel" mapping, or "overscan OFF" or some thing similar.
I see on the manual p.35:
+4. Wide - The Wide option lets you determine how the image appears on the screen. Select Normal, Wide, or Panoramic.+
Try those three. My guess is you want "wide" mode for a 1920x1080 feed.
Also, H and V size and position can be adjusted (p.35/36) - maybe that will help?

  • VGA to HDMI cable??

What cable do I need to connect my Acer Aspire One Model No. KAV60 notebook to view on my T.V.  My notebook has a VGA port and my T.V. has 2 ports I'm hoping one will work.
    HDMI in 2
    HDMI 1/DVI  in
any other suggestions on connecting my pc to be able to view on this t.v. or any others???

They make cables but keep in mind they DO NOT work in most cases. Better bet is if your tv does indeed have DVI then do VGA->DVI

  • VGA to HDMI cable adapter

Can I use this type of cable to connect my PC ( p6112p with Intel GMA 3100 ) to the HDMI input of my TV?

    Hi,
From VGA to HDMI you need a converter to convert from analog signals to digital signals, not adapter. There are many around, the following product will do (with sound):

  • VGA Y-Splitter cable?

I have one that I use on my desktop PC right now, for the same image doubled and ran across my desk so when I turn around I can still see my screen.
Let's I ran I connected the DVI to VGA adapater to my MBP then connected that to the Y-Splitter cable to two monitors...well,
    1) Would it be safe?
    2) Tell me if I'm wrong - I would be able to have 3 of the same screens (including the MBP's) and then I would also be able to have a 2 screen-one desktop display between the MBP and one of the 2 monitors, and then a double of the 1st external monitors screen on the 2nd?
Sorry if I confused anyone with #2, lol.
    Any experiences/opinoins?

In theory, it should be safe.
Are the monitors the same model/size? If not you might hav problems finding a compatible setting.
Your second point would be correct.
The only thing I could see being a problem is with the Y splitter, the monitors might not get enough power, so you could have display issues.

  • 30-pin to VGA cable no longer by this  be

I just updated to 7.1.1 iOS on my iPad 3.  Now my 30-pin to VGA (apple branded) cable no longer works.  As soon as I plug it in, I get a message "this accessory is not supported by this ipad."  The cable was used nearly everyday before the update and Apple TV is not an option in my application.  Any ideas on how to get the cable to work again?

    Have you tried:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
You are not addressing Apple here we are al just users like yourself.. If the above does not work then inform Apple by:

  • Vga cable: 14 vs 15 pin

I recently bought VGA splitter, that's 14 pin. My VGA cable is 15 pin.
After connecting the Cable to the splitter the monitor resolution goes down, then if the VGA cable is directly connected to the PC vga adapter.
So, I looked online to see diffrence between the 14 and 15 pin VGA. I could not find much information, but few blogs. They say 1 or 2 pins are obsolute, so there is no diffrence between 14 and 15 pin cable.
Then, I boght a 14 pin VGA cable to try. But it don't give the high resolution as 15 pin cable. It's same low resolution picture as 15 pin cable with splitter attached.
So is it right that 14 and 15 pin VGA cables are same, and if that's right do I need and display setting changed?
Connecting 14 pin cable don't even  give the resolution option as 15  pin cable give in Display settings. There is only 3 option.

I have seen this problem and question in various forms many times, and have never seen the correct answer given. So here is the answer. Please spread it around, since many people seem to have the problem:
VGA 15 pin cables often have only 14 active pins. Pin 9 is missing. (This missing pin is on the middle row of pins, one pin from the end.) This missing pin is a problem for flat screen TVs.
Pin 9 is required by most, if not all, plasma and lcd TV's to supply back to the computer graphics card information about the available resolution of the monitor. Pin 9 carries a 5 volt signal to the DDC (display data channel). New computer monitors (LCD or CRT) do not seem to need this pin, and work fine without it -- as a result the majority of VGA cables labeled as "15 pin" really only have 14 pins, and this is never explained or noted in the packaging or product specifications! The only way to tell if a "15 pin" VGA cable actually has all 15 pins is to look at the connector and count the pins. If the middle row has only 4 pins, then the critical pin 9 is missing.
From the posts I have seen -- and from my own experience with my 50" Pioneer PDP-5070HD plasma TV -- nearly all flat screen TV's DO NEED this pin to return information about the native screen resolution.
I have seen dozens of posts by people trying to set up their HTPC's to work with their big screen plasma, but not being able to set the resolution (usually 1360 x 768) on their video adapter card. Some people on the forums argue they had "no problem" while others cannot make it work. People blame the video card or video card drivers. No one seems to figure out the problem is a missing pin on the supposedly standard "15 pin VGA cable" many people are using!
I had the same problem with my ATI 9800 Pro graphics card using a 15 pin VGA cable with only 14 pins. When I changed to a full and true 15 pin cable, the ATI 9800 immediately sensed the native resolution of the plasma TV.
So the difference between a 15 pin and a 14 pin VGA cable is not "just one pin", as one sarcastic idiot answered to a previous post of this question. The absence of the pin 9 signal (5 volt to the DDC) means your your very expensive plasma or LCD TV cannot notify your computer graphics card about its supported resolution. Get a VGA cable with all 15 pins, and your problem may be resolved. But you will have to search to find one by visually examining the plug. Remember, all the VGA cables are labeled and sold as "15 pin VGA cable" even if they actually have only 14 pins. Check it out.
(BTW, there is a reason to leave the 5 volt signal off the cable when it is not needed. However, for LCD and Plasma TV's, it is needed.)

  • VGA cable extension -or- extending the reach of Solaris

I purchased a 15ft TRIPP LITE VGA monitor extension cable. This cable does not work with Solaris 10, but does work with Windows! The Solaris graphical interface does not want to load with the extension cable in place.
Why? And what can I do about the situation. Will a Gefen VGA through coax solution work with Solaris? Or is there another way to do this?
Helping me figure out how to move a Solaris computer a few feet away from my desk will help save my hearing.

I would love to create a connection from the router to my computer. I don't need or want it to be wireless. It's not like I'm hauling this computer around the house, and there is a cat 5 jack about 1 foot from my computer. Any idea how this is done? Even in theory?
We have Comcast hi-speed internet and they offer "home networking" wired or wireless but unfortunately "At this time, Comcast Home Networking does not support Macintosh computers." (you have to dig pretty deep to find that out). I have no real concept of how the cat 5 wiring and the highspeed internet work together.
