  • Can't get driver to work with ezcap usb 2.0 video capture device on windows 8.1

I have an ezcap video capture device that works fine on my windows 7 machine but will not work in windows 8.1. The software (arcsoft 3.5)  functions properly but will not let me select the video grabber as a source. The driver itself indicates not compatible with 8.1 and the there are no drivers out there that I can find to address this issue? Any known solution would be helpful.

    Hi,
It is not from HP. Please try driver from the following link:

  • Opinions on low cost USB video capture devices for FMLE?

I have already tried a few such devices.  I would at least like to achieve reasonable SD at 720 X 480.  HD would be a plus, but not necessary.  My camera has HDMI, SDI, and Component and composit out.  I have already tried a couple of capture devices, and the results were as follows.
SIIG USB 2.0 Video Capture Device - JU-AV0012-S1
Pretty clear as to why this was so cheap.  It claims full NTSC support, but that is only on the input.  Output is 320 X 240 only.
DIAMOND USB 2.0 HD Game Console Video Capture Device GC500 USB 2.0 Interface
Again, this unit claims "HD" but that is only on the input.  Output is 640 x 480.  The image quality was terrible with the supplied software, or with Adobe FMLE.  Noisy, and well below full NTSC quality.  Even when fed with the component out of a Sony NX5.  Unacceptable.  Even for the bargain price at Frys.
Hauppauge HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition
Seems I bought a dud.  I went back and forth with Hauppauge support, and never could get this to be detected by FMLE, or the included software.  On doing a search online for the error message I received, I discovered many similar trouble reports on various forums.  I bought this one at a discounted price.  Perhaps this is the reason why.
The notebook I have is a Windows unit, with no expresscard slot, or 1394 input (unfortunately).  I did look briefly at the Blackmagic Intesity Shuttle, but it needs USB 3.0.
Curious to hear of any sucess with USB capture and FMLE, and with a device under (hopefully well under?)$200.

I've been streaming with the ION Video2PC capture device...it works flawlessly with no problem. The machine I've been testing it on can only pump out 480p or 540p at the most. But, I'm sure if I used it on a faster machine I would get way better results. You can find them used under $30 bucks online and unlike most cheap capture/input devices, you can access the video and audio in FMLE. Just thought, I'd share they info.

  • USB 2.0 Video Adaptors don't work after lion upgrade

I use to two USB 2.0 Video DVI Adaptors and I recently upgraded to Lion. Now neither of the two work. I went online and loaded the most recent drivers, but no joy. all the displays do is flicker.. I am starting to regret upgrading. Do you have any ideas? they are IOGEAR GUC2020DW6 Diamond BVUMD3, both worked great prior to the upgrade.

I believe those adapters use are DisplayLink Certified, and if so, there are generic Lion Beta drivers you can download from
    http://www.displaylink.com/support/mac_downloads.php
I am about to order that hardware and take a leap of faith with the Beta drivers.

  • Video capture cards..?

  • Hauppauge High Definition Video Capture

Does anyone have experience of the "Hauppauge HD PVR USB Hi-def H.264 Video Capture Device, high Definition USB 2.0 Video Capture With Hardware H.264 Video Encoders"?
If so what do you think of it?
Leaving aside PVR (it isn't in my opinion as it needs to be connected to a PC for recording) and the over emphasis on recording gaming sessions it sounds as though it might be a handy High Definition equivalent of the Canopus ADVC analogue to digital converter range.

    Neale,
I have never used one, nor have I read many articles from those, who have used it. The exception has been some users, who have had issues with Hauppage capture cards, but I do not know of any, who used this device.
Good luck, and wish that I could help, but will follow the thread, in hopes of learning something new.

  • USB vs. PCI capture devices

Hey all, quick questions I hope someone can help me with:
    1. Are there significant differences between USB and PCI video capture devices [other than the one is USB, the other PCI] which would make one better than the other in terms of performance?
    2. Is there a way to buffer the incoming video from a capture device [in my case, a USB video grabber device] so that when recording the video and streaming it simultaneously, you don't get choppy video and slow framerate?
Thanks in advance for any help...

Sorry about the correction: in question 2 I mean I'm trying to monitor the incoming stream and record it to the HDD at the same time...sorry for any confusion...

I am attempting to convert 8mm video cassettes to dvd using a video cassette player, elgato video capture with rca/usb connections to the mac then editing in imovie and burning dvd-r using idvd. The picture quality is awful. What can I do??????

At what point is the video quality bad?  Is it bad on capture?  I would recommend using an s-video 1394 firewire converter instead.  They capture the video at a higher bit rate.  If you have a lot of 8mm tapes to capture, invest in a stand alone DVD recorder.  They capture and compress in one shot.  If you need to rip it back from the DVD into iMovie again, I would recommend using DVDxDV.

I've partitoned Windows swell and it says the same thing? I'm trying to live capture from my Sony Camcorder through Elgato but I just get the above message?

This means that the backups were made with a later version than the version currently on the phone. You will have to update the phone to 6.1.3 to be able to restore the backup. You can restore a backup made with an earlier version, but not with a later version.

  • Usb video capture device software

i have a usb video capture device and i wanted to know if there was a program that lets you watch your vhs movies with it on your computer

    Not totally following you here.
You can get an adapter that allows you to plug, say, your VCR into the computer to copy video from a VHS to a DVD, and have it edited on the computer, is that what you are looking for?
My opinions are mine, and mine alone.

  • USB video capture not working

I'm having trouble with Skype recognizing USB video capture devices.  I've been doing this for years and now can't seem to get it to work.  I only do this every few months, so I might have missed a post.  I have tried 4 different computers with 4 different USB capture devices, it would seem it;'s a Skype issue.  Anyone else have some ideas?  Will Skype repair the issue?
    Thanks for your toughts!

This works for me. I have to do it every once in awhile after powering up my PC.
It may or may not work for you.
Open Windows Device Manager and for each Universal Serial Bus (USB) Host Controller right-click on it and then left-click on Properties. Ensure that the Device Status TextBox shows "This device is working properly." If not, Disable and Enable that USB Host Controller.

  • Roxio (or ElGato) video capture USB for FCP input, anyone?

    Hello,
I have a Roxio video capture device to transfer VHS tapes to MPEG-2 . It plugs in a USB port, and works with specific software (Easy VHStoDVD). I wonder if there's any way this input could be recognized by FCP. I also have a Canopus box to digitalize directly to FCP, but this box doesn't recognize the NTSC tapes I have (I live in Europe, PAL system) correctly, color is lost with my current VHS player, whereas the Roxio converter does get the NTSC signal. The problem is that the MPEG quality is low, and I'd like to digitalize directly into Apple ProRes codec instead of doing an MPEG-2 to Apple ProRes conversion.
Any tip about how to transfer this signal? Or is it the case that the Roxio device signal is already MPEG-2 (at 6000 kpbs), so there's no point in inputting it into FCP? I believe the same device produces a better-quality MPEG-2 file in the Windows version of the software, so this may be software-related.
    Thanks for any help!

    Hi
My thoughts - close to this - but not cheaper.
I bought the ADVC-300 - my VHS tapes are several years and drop-outs are not rare.
This has a Timecode correction/mending and result is that it needs less baby-sitting.
Just a though to add in when deciding what suits You best.
Yes I'm very happy with this one - Yes the pay was not without hurt.
    Yours Bengt W
