VI not loadable any more

I have been converting a project from LabView 8.5 to 8.6.1 and have been replacing a self written class by another one. While working on this and updating a subVI LabView crashed. When I restarted LabView I could recover some of my work. Later I tried to open the main VI of the project and LabView crashed immediatly. The main VI was normally saved before LabView 8.6.1 crashed for the first time. So I wonder what could have happened? Is there any chance to recover the main VI and the work which I spent on the main VI?
The same happened to another VI which I never have opened in LabView 8.6.1 But when I copied the 8.5 Version of this VI again to the new project folder (using the Windows Explorer) I had no problems to open it. While working on my project in LV 8.6.1 I once used "Save all (this project)". Any explanation what could happened, how to avoid this and how to recover such VIs?

Yep- it can get pretty tricky to upgrade versions of LabVIEW. IMHO the BEST (safest) way is to follow this procedure;
1) Backup everything on a machine that still has the old LV version.
2) Install the LabVIEW version to move to.
3) Use tools>mass compile> all of your reuse code (pay attention to the warnings and address them individually)
4) Use tools>mass compile> all of your drivers (pay attention to the warnings and address them individually)
5) Use tools>mass compile> each your projects (pay attention to the warnings and address them individually)
a bit more time consuming than just opening and resaving---unless there are conversion issues that crash the enviornment.

Adobe Acrobat Pro Licence is not working any more

Hi, Adobe Acrobat Pro is not opening any more and giving the error "Licence is not working any more". I have a CS4 on Mac OS X 10.5.8. I tried all the suggestions in the Help Forum. What remains is to install CS4 again. Is there any risk doing that? Or is there any other option. Best, Felix

Yes, if you choose the Erase and Sync option (or restore your iPod) you will be allowed to sync your iPod with the new computer.
If you would like to save the content that's currently on your iPod, see this older thread from another forum member Zevoneer discussing the different ways to copy the content on an iPod back to your PC.

I've just discovered that different typefaces seem to have different auto-leading in Pages. I am used to default leading being 120% of point size (or some consistent rule), but it seems this is not so any more. The same text in 10pt Times New Roman, which I would expect to line up with 10pt Palatino, for example, doesn't. I've tried using the inspector, at least to get both faces to behave the same for given settings, but I haven't been able to. How much control does Pages allow for this type of settings, and are there any hidden secrets as to how to do so? Many thanks

If you set the line spacing in the inspector to Exactly and 12 points for 10 point type, it will work the way you want.

I kept forgetting and procrastinating about following your instructions, since I have internet access only for limited amounts of time and usually I am busy with important tasks when I am.
Out of the blue, the problem corrected itself (the Save As box started to open full screen, then shrunk down to a normal size and the edges can now be dragged to a custom size).
Even the copy and paste problem in the filenaming area seems to have been less troublesome lately even though there have been no updates to Firefox in a few weeks.
Even though I marked the solution as not helpful, the problem has in fact been resolved. I will save the solution instructions in case the issue returns.

My DVD-Drive is not working any more. When I enter a CD/DVD it makes a strangs bruummm for 2 or 3 times ant then ejects the CD/DVD. What can I do. I think the Drive is broken.

I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store because of the shock issue. I doubt it was caused by the update.

Search in saved preview .pdf files not working any more

When I download a .pdf file from the internet and open it in preview, the search command works ok. When this same file is saved to disk and opened again, search is not working any more. Is this a bug, or my fault. Regards Rolf

A while back we have more than one browser running on our PC (IE, Firefox, Chrome) and we messed by how Acrobat views documents over the web.
I think that this has some relevance here, as around this time LC also started falling over previewing forms.
Now if we open LC and Acrobat is not running, the "Preview PDF" is not present or accessible. So now we fire up Acrobat before we open a form in LC Designer and the preview tab is there and functioning.
Not much of a workaround; but I am hoping that someone will have a better one!!!

Mail settings are not saved any more

after my mailbox structure has crashed, I tried to reset Mail as explained in this answer: https://discussions.apple.com/message/22302114#22302114
After restarting Mail all settings were deleted (as expected) and I set up my accounts and settings again. Then I recognized that the settings are not saved any more. I tried some times but Mail didn't save the settings.
I hope there is a chance to fix this problem.

Thanks for linked document but I find it funny and someone rude that the article assumes that EVERYONE knows the lingo used - i.e. Profile Folder is in "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\" . Where the hell is that???? Jesus, it's much easier to switch to Chrome.

I've stored the library in HARD DISK which is installed inside my computer (1 TB capacity) and different from my hard disk in which I've installed all my applications (600 GB capacity).
I've installed FCP since 2001, bought FCP X in 2012: never had a problem. Yesterday I was editing my video of my last vacations (in California!) and I have updated FCP X, downloading FCP X 10.1.1: then the problem!
Strange is the fact that I've just tried to export a short project, I can see the final product quite well.
What is impossible is playing the clips within Final Cut: they are jumpimg, moving, presenting some frame in green or red ...
Everything all right in iMovie.
I've just checked the RAM: 9GB out of 12 GB is busy, could this be the problem?
Motion is very slow: for 20 sec of project, it takes minutes to play. And once again, if you finalize the projet and export it in Quicktime, you can see it correctly.
I do hope you may suggest something, I'm getting crazy!
