VI Server and "this" reference

Hallo LabVIEWers,
not a real problem (at the moment so far, but who knows ?). Is there a
G-construct similar to the "this" reference in Java or C++, so that a VI can
act on its own methods or property via the VI-Server. For example open
reference to itself, modify some properties, call some methods, and close
reference ?

Sure, place a property node or invoke mode on the block diagram and right
click it. Select "Select VI Server Class >" and click on "VI". you can
then select properties and methods for that VI. By not wiring a reference
in, the node refers to the vi it resides in.

FC Server and this setup...

1. FC Server will be attached as "read only" to media directories on our Terrablock servers via Fiber.
2. Our FC Users will use those media directories (read only) which has frequently used footage.
My questions are:
1. How do their systems communicate with the FC Server? Is it strictly over ethernet?
2. Will FC Server be able to use "read only" directories to scan for media?
3. When users update metadata, what happens if our media directories are read-only? I'm assuming that metadata exists in some sort of database directly on the FC Server, correct?
4. We currently don't have FC Server, but will within a few weeks. I have 2 FC Users with about 100 projects each. Those users will need to migrate all projects to the FC Server/new storage system. They are currently on local storage, but that will soon change. I saw an "Import Feature", could someone get into that a little?
5. Are there any in-depth training videos like the intro videos Apple has on FC Server?

My thoughts exactly. Install a dhcp-server (and maybe bind9) and all you need is a WAP - works here. You could also configure iptables so you don't need an extra machine as firewall.
My concern is that you are planning on putting all data of you and your family (more than 1 TB at the moment) on a machine and that you don't use a hardware RAID-controller. IMHO data is THE most valuable thing (pictures, holiday movies etc.), so I would prefer spending money on a RAID-controller instead of putting it in an SSD. What is you're server going to do that it needs an SSD for its OS? If it's going to serve files and mail, then you won't notice much of a difference with a normal IDE / SATA disk.
I have bought a new pc for my mediaserver, and it's doing practically nothing 90% of the time, but I need it's CPU cycles to transcode 1080p-files to my DLNA-clients on the network. And did you think of a backup-system? I strongly recommend bacula for automated backups - it might be overkill for a home network, but it is not that hard to learn and very, very flexible!

Implementing a file server and backup solution

Hi there - Looking for sage advice from the experts! Here's my dilemma:
I have a 1st gen Intel iMac, and I recently picked up the 13-inch aluminum MacBook. Both have 250 Gb drives. I have a fair amount of media and software using all but 9 gigs of space on the iMac. One more Final Cut project should eat the majority of that:-)
Before I start moving media over to the MacBook and run into the same space issues, I'd like to come up with a storage and back up solution that does the following:
1. Provides one centralized location for all media (music, photos, video files)
2. Keep back ups of centralized location AND backups of both iMac and MacBook--I don't want to lose any work in progress.
I'd love to hear how others manage this problem. Can a Time Machine solve the problem? Am I looking at a RAID solution?

In a case where the same workbook is saved locally and on the application server and this error happens, what is the decisive factor? Meaning why does this happen for some workbooks and not for others? Is it a question of size, number of queries, other?
Do embedded excel functionalities and update links also interfere?

I have installed RFID reader and Oracle Sensor edger server in Country A.
Database Oracle 10G R2 in another Country B. I am using a VPN connection.
Can I use stream dispatcher to populate data to database located at Country B.

Hi John!
If you have a network connection between the reader and the database than it does not matter if they are in the same room or in different countries.
Using a VPN does imply that your network is set up in a way that the network traffic from the reader to the database has to pass through the VPN tunnel. On the database server you will have access to the database listener.
I haven't yet worked with the Streams Dispatcher but I worked with the HTTP dispatcher. I send the packets to a JSP application running on the application server and this wrote the content into the database.

Creating Weblogic domain with Admin Server and managed servers on different

I am trying to create Weblogic domain where Admin Server and managed servers on different machines. However I am unable to find any steps which would allow me to do so. The config.sh script always creates an Admin Server. Please help.

Whilst the method that Lawrence gives can result in a domain that is perfectly functional, it is a method that can result in errors as you are having to enter the same information twice. Also you will create two admin servers, as the second domain creation will have the console added to it on the renamed admin server and this will give issues.
The best method to create a domain spamming multiple physical machines, is to create the domain with all the components on the first machine. This means planning the domain and making sure all components are added once; so having the information about the domain written out is wise. Ensure that the WLS software is installed in the same path on each machine before starting.
Then copy the domain that you have created from one machine to the other, keeping the same paths. You can simply copy (I've used this method multiple times without issue) but the supported way would be to use the WLST PACK and UNPACK methods. These create and extract domains from templates. "Your email account" means to tap on the name of your email account. Whatever it is listed as in the settings.
In my mail settings, one of my email accounts is a Comcast account. I tap on the Comcast name and it brings up this window.
Then I tap on the arrow under the Outgoing mail server smtp setting to get to the next window.
In the resulting window, I then tap on the arrow next to the smtp server under the Primary Server setting.
That brings up this window in which I check to make sure that my user name and password have been entered correctly. If those items are missing, enter them in the appropriate fields and then tap done.

Every webserver that receives a request from your browser is able to determine the HTTP USER AGENT information unless it has been removed by some software (e.g. firewall) before the request was trasmitted.

I transferred files from a NAS server to the Mac Mini Snow Leopard Server and now some of the files have Custom Access and can't be opened by some users. How do I fix this?

We're setting up our Mac Mini Snow Leopard Server, and in the process transferred files that had been stored and accessed from our Blackarmor NAS server over to the Mac. These files were all created on PC's and are Office Excel files, WordPerfect files or PDF's. When you look at the files on the Mac from the Mac and bring up Get Info for the affected file, it says that the file has Custom Access. The files that work properly don't have that configuration. I can access and open the files on some computers, but some users can't open the files from their computer even though they can see it. We're all using PC's and they get the Error: Access Denied-Contact your administrator--or something similar. I've seen on the web similar issues and it may have something to do with ACL permissions. I don't know enough about Mac OS to understand this, but what is baffling is that they can be opened from some PC's but not others, and all of the Users have the same accessibility to the files. Ask in the ID forum and be much more specific about your configuration. there could be any number of reasons why manifests, temp files or restore files are created.

Close (quit) calendar
Under System-Icloud : log out
Open calendar. Under preferences, Account, Icloud: log in !!
And it works!!
now the stupid ""Moving calendars to server account" is gone!

How to export an eloqua report to a (ftp) server and schedule this export

I would like to export an eloqua report to a (ftp) server and schedule this export. I want to pick this report up by another tool like Qlikview.

if it is something to do with having report admin rights is there a way to still export report data without these admin rights? is it possible to just export report data as activity data in the normal import/export section within the setup menu? is there a problem using filezilla client and oracle eloqua together for this?

Unpower it. If it still happens on a restart give it time - Apple's servers sometimes have glitches.

I have discovered it is most likely because you have Ad-Blocking software.
If your posting on a Mozilla site, then you probably (like me) use FireFox and probably also have the addon: AdBlock Plus, like I also do. I simply disabled on Torrentz.eu (also Torrentz.me would cause this problem) & when I refreshed it allowed me again.
