Via sata live update driver error

i tried to live update via satas...and i get some kind of box that says use /XXX comands . anyone else notice this...
also it is a rather large file 7.X mb's:frankie:

Isn't it possible to download those files manually? Or if it's the VIA S-ATA drivers, why not download them from http://www.viaarena.com instead?

  • Live Update Download Error

Whenever I use Live Update and go to install a new download it fails.  As it downloads, the counter goes from 0 - 99 and when it reaches 99 it comes up with Error Code:0.  , and stops the download/install.
I have tried this for a number of different driver updates, but all the same.  I connect via a proxy server, and don't know if this is a problem, but as it starts downloading it should at least continue and finish the download.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the Live Update software but it still comes up with the error.
    Any help appreciated.

    any ideas?

What is the exact command you are using? Are all of the LU packages installed (SUNWlucfg, SUNWluu, SUNWlur)? Is the latest live upgrade patch installed? This is patch 121430-xx (SPARC) and 121431-xx (x86).

  • Live Update 6 error message

Been using Live Update6 without any errors until recently.  Trying to update to latest version I get the following message:
C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI\Live Update\unins000.msg is missing.  Please correct the problem or obtain a new copy of the program.
Here are snapshots of the two errors I am receiving.
I cannot uninstall the old copy or install a new copy because I get the same message.
I know most of you will say not to use Live Update, but I've been using it without any errors until recently.  Any way to repair it?

you can try this uninstaller to complete remove any entries:

Latests nVidia drivers (5.10) are getting me crazy. I have problems with audio (interferences and laggy sound), video (autozoom of my desktop after watching a film at fullscreen). I recommend the 4.xx (xx=cannot remember  ), I mean, the prior version to 5.10 for the Mega180 with onboard audio&video.

  • Msi live update corruption errors

Hi.  I have been trying to use live update 6 for my fm2-a55m-e33 MB. it scans, does what it is supposed to. The problem lies in the fact that EVERY thing it downloads says corrupt file and wont install. is there a version of live update that works? my build is
    fm2-a55m-e33
    win7 ultimate 64 bit
    Zotac 610 synergy 2mb
    a6-5400k cpu
    4g ram
    1 tb wd blue hd.

Alternatively you could download the bios from here:
    http://www.msi.com/support/mb/FM2-A55M-E33.html#down-bios
That should allow you to download it and flash it via the BIOS I believe.

  • MSI Live update driver question

I have an issue with Live update.
Now i have disabled the on board audio and installed my own sound card.
Before the installation of the new sound card i made sure that all drivers for the on board were uninstalled and i even ran CC Cleaner to get rid of any registry entries that were left.
Now every time i go to live update its asking to download the latest realtek sound drivers and im wondering why?

I think Live update just detecting what mobo you have, and show you the drivers that's compatible.
Just leave it, don't download it.

  • Updated bios via Live Update and now my Network card isn't detected

I have an msi Z87-GD65 Gaming Motherboard and I updated some drivers and the bios via msi Live Update 6 last night and now my computer refuses to recognize my network adapter. The adapter is a TRENDnet N600, plugs into PCIe if I'm not mistaken. Wifi if my only option with this computer, I can't use ethernet, so it's really important I get the network card working again. I have had zero issues with it until this.
The reason I was updating was to try to get my third monitor to work when plugged into the mobo, while my other two were plugged into the graphics card (which I also installed yesterday, but it's working fine). Note that it still was not working, but I had enabled the IGD Multi-Monitor from bios.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I did try uninstalling the drivers but it still won't detect the network card. I also tried disconnecting and reconnecting the network card (and I cleaned the port for good measure).
I've only been using Windows computers for a year, so bear with me if there's stuff I don't know. Thanks in advance. I can try to get a full list of what was installed later tonight, but all of it that I can find has been uninstalled at this point.
Note: I did not flash the bios when I installed, which I have now heard is a bad idea, apparently. l:

  • How to update VGA bios in MSI live update.

    Hi,
I downloaded MSI live update and i saw that there is a new bios for my card and i downloaded it.
when i go to the folder with the DL-FILE i see that different things are downloaded included nvflash and the rom itself.
Now is my question, can i install the new bios though the MSIsetup in that folder or do i have to do it a different way? I just want to be sure because i don't want to do anything wrong and probably brick my card.
    Thnx in advance.

I just flashed the new vbios via MSI live update yesterday, but I have GTX 970, not sure if the procedure is the same or not between different cards.
I just pressed the "download and install" arrow on the right side of vbios size, and live update only allowing me to choose vbios update at one time. After the download finished, it auto executed cmd under windows, and remind me to remove graphics card driver and continue (I did uninstall when I flashing my first card, but for the next one I just closed the nvidia experience), after press twice "Y" in the cmd, the flash began and then system just auto restarted. When my pc rebooted to windows again, I checked the vbios version, it appears the new one.
maybe i should film a video if i got chance

  • MSI Live Update will no longer work after recent update

Recently, MSI Live Update upgraded itself and now errors when a scan is attempted.  I can start the application, and the scan appears to occur but does not complete.  The error is pretty generic:
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI\Live Update 6\Live Update.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.  Please contact the application's support team for more information.
First thing I did was uninstall the tool, delete the directory, reboot and download and install Live Update 6.x from the MSI  site.  No change.  I figured there was possibly a problem with (one of the) C++ Runtime libraries and checked the system requirements on the MSI website, but all it says its needs is the .NET runtime library.  I uninstalled it, rebooted, and reinstalled it but still received the same error.  Going with the error, I removed all of the C++ libraries (8, 10, and 12 I think), rebooted, and reinstalled them the checked MS for updates.   Sadly, this also didn't resolve it.
Error in the application log didn't help:

Searching the forum didn't yield much.  Suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestions - still in the same boat.
    @jb0nez
what OS you are running? Windows 8.1 x64
    what MSI hardware you have?
    Board: Z87-G43 GAMING
    Bios: American Megatrends v1.9 (7/21/2014)
    Intel Core i5-4670 @ 3.40GHz (not overclocked)
    OS: Windows 8.1 Pro x64
    @jb0nez
I fixed it though--went to Control Panel, Uninstall a Program, found Microsoft .net 4.5.1, hit Change/Uninstall, then clicked Repair. Rebooted after and it was fine.
Windows 8.x has .NET 4.x preinstalled as a part of the OS.
I used DISM.exe which identified a component store corruption (and repaired it).  Live Update still errors.
Attempts to install from a .NET runtime returns an error of "A higher version is already installed".
    Version of .NET installed: 4.5.51641
I did disable, reboot, and re-enable .NET as a feature but doing so does not revert it back to stock .NET.
I also checked Windows Update after re-enabling it and there were no updates - so its not flushing the binaries if its disabled.
At least I have a direction to start troubleshooting (.NET) - thanks for the tip!
    @jb0nez
are you also use the same version? Live Update 6.0.012
    @TZBC
Restore points are out - I let this slide too long.  If I go that route, I'll be fixing one app to break 10 others.
If I'm going to reinstall the OS, I'll wait until Windows 10 (I'll do a complete wipe at that time).  Live Update  is a 'nice to have', but its not worth my  time to wipe the OS and rebuild the system.

  • 890FXA-GD70 bios update via Live Updat & now won't load windows...help pls

    Hi There
First off, please excuse the fact that I am not very experienced with the tech aspects of a home build (which this is & I bought off the builder), or any build for that matter..
I was getting a 'keyboard/interface' press f1 to continue error message, when I started my computer, along with most of the usb ports not working when windows 7 ultimate (64) sp1 (build 7601) loads.
    Otherwise it was working fine..
So I deceided to follow the instructions of the Live Update tool & used the total installer to update the bios from American Megatrends V1.10 06/30/2011 to the latest bios. I know now that wasn't very wise (why is it even an option if it can do soooo much harm?).
After it updated the bios there was a question (which I don't recall of course), something about ROM I think and not being the same, with 3 choices to correct it and I'm pretty sure I went with the 1st option for it to be corrected.
So now when I turn the computer on it starts loading everything (I can get in to the bios setup), right after it shows the windows logo it flashes a blue screen with some type on it & goes to windows startup repair which of course doesn't help & tries to do a system recovery which also doesn't work.
I don't want to do any more damage by fiddling around with things I know little about.
I was encouraged to read in one of the post answers that if it gets to the point where Windows goes to load than the mobo is ok...hopefully!
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

yes the BIOS controls the CMOS from that User interface with all the settings menus!
and yes its in there where you can see what Drive mode its set at!
if its using the older style BIOS like my board has and not a UEFI then in this heading set:
1: go into your BIOS (press Delete)
    2: Integrated Perifirals
    3: On-Chip ATA Devices
4: Raid Mode <--- the options for that should be in there if its the same and may have been set to IDE mode before the update but may be set to AHCI now after you flashed the BIOS via live update which is more then likely why your getting a BSOD as it in the wrong operating mode!

  • New VIA Drivers and Live-Update

I noticed the latest VIA drivers are not yet available for download using MSI's Live Update prgram. Is it ok to download them seperately from the official VIA site? Or should I just wait for the Live Updater to get them?
    Just Wondering...

     :D
I only used Live Update for a limited time ... mostly because there was too much time between launching an new driver and the driver becoming available through Live Update. The VIA drivers are available for more than a week, I think.
