Viatun, HotSpot Shiled for Belle FP2 devices

Hallo all!
I am frm place where internet gets blocked on regular basis. This is not a problem for Android firends as they use bypass apps like HotSpot shield, Viatune etc. which are not available for Belle FP2.
Can anyone help with solution? Mainly I need info on reliable and not expencive VPN provider and step by step instructions how to set it up on Nokia 808 PV.
Switching to Android is last option - pls do not offer it I read this too much on other forums.

My friend. I have a similar problem, and to my great disappointment in Nokia's VPN set very complex task. need to register there specifically create a profile with VPN. as you now know it is very difficult. I used to use a proxy server, which would bypass the blockage in my country, but even now it is no longer helping. Himself at the moment I think to pass on Android the more that support Symbian already terminated.

Hi friends i am from India. I am having a nokia 603 running belle fp2. I desperately need the book my show app. Can any of you provide me that. It is not available in ovi store....

If you read the Reviews for the Application (at the MarketPlace) it seems that the application is not yet compatible with WP8. You may need to contact the Developer or wait for an Update ...

Req- Lockscreen music controls for Belle FP2

Nokia,
please release the lockscreen music controls for symbian Belle FP2 phones as the next software update, (like the one in new nokia asha 501). Its a must have feature in today's smartphones.

Have the same issue and so have others. Only fix i know of is a restart, however after a while it will happen again.

Gallery and camera update for Belle FP2.

I just installed the update which is available today via software update using Nokia Suite.
I'm happy that I got back the mark option to send multiple files.
There's an extra preference option provided in camera but it is still taking time for the camera to start after phone is started.

After the recent update of gallery and camera on 808 and 701, which allows finally the multiple selection, I've found on both devices that if you select 2 or more photos in the gallery and then you send them by email, the email app closes suddenly and you can find the message with attached photos in drafts. But just 2 photos. If you select 3 or more, only 2 will be attached. If you choose just one, it works as previously, you open a new message and then you can edit it etc.

Yes, everybody had got this. It's always been there. On the 700 and on the 808, FP1 and FP2. Actually the gallery/camera update has improved it a bit. One can now email 2-3 pics. Before the update even 1 pic rarely worked.
Really serious problem with no organization of the report without album and all photos in one place has been reported ?? course the problem is not solved in any way with the extra apps from the store which is slow without a good support

The issue seems to be caused by the mechanism involved in the Send / Email dialogue which is present in the Gallery app, and in various other apps which also fail the same way.
Whereas if you start up the email app, create a fresh email and then add the pics (as attachments) to it, you can send as many as you like, with the email size limited only by the various SMTP server limits. I have emailed 50MB emails, though most people are limited to about 10MB by their ISP or network.

Features request for belle fp2

I have nokia 808. I use an auto number lock to protect my phone (settings -> phone -> phone management -> security settings -> phone and SIM card -> phone auto lock period). While on a call, phone lock itself and I don't get the full call menu eg. There is no mute, speaker, on going time option, etc.. There is only disconnect option.
I have a habit to check the time of a call. For that I have to unlock the phone with number lock every time. It is so annoying.
1. There should be a full call menu during an ongoing call while the phone is locked.
Another thing is , the call log should be extended to 60 days and filter for individual number search should be there. For eg. If I have to find out the number of times I have called to 123 in past 30 days, there is no filter to find that out. I have to check it one by one in the large log.
2. Call log should be extended to 60 days and call log filter should have option for name and number filter.
I think these are the basic features that should be present in every phone,as the main purpose of the phone is calling.

Also mine company, which bought and used "Presenter 7", and would like to upgrade to "Presenter 8" or "9 Presenter," But in the absence of this feature video capture for the sidebar is not acquistera "Presenter 9 "if you do not back the functionality and probably will try alternative software that do this.
So me too request to Adobe to reinsert this functionality in "Presenter 9" or alternatives of equal simplicity (eg the inclusion of a button "Capture Video" as in "Presenter 7" next to the "Recorder".

Cartier001 is right to point out that no FP2 variants have yet been produced for Hong Kong, Taiwan (where I live) or the PRC. One explanation for this is that FP2 makes fundamental changes to keyboards, and these three variants obviously all have Chinese input, which may need extra testing etc. Another possible explanation is that we are not regarded as important enough. Annoyingly Nokia plugs FP2 on the support sections of its web sites in these countries even though it is not available.
Effortful is unfortunately correct to point out that lots of people still do not have FP1. There are lots of posts about that here. This thread (one of many on the subject) is one that I started and has regular new posts of users who still haven't received it.

Adrianhughes is right to say that availability of Nokia's updates depends on country and operator variants, but wrong in suggesting that it would be any use to contact your local Nokia care. Unless there really is some technical problem with your phone, they invariably just tell you to keep checking.
FP1 was not delivered in Taiwan unti more than six months after it was announced. I wrote to Stephen Elop to complain about the poor service in this respect four months after its first announcement and got an email back from him the same day, followed by a call by someone very polite but with no concrete information. I wrote again two months later and got no reply from Mr Elop, but I did have a call from Nokia less than a week later saying that the software had eventually been released for my phone.
Concretely my advice to people in Sri Lanka is to try and find out whether your country has its own Nokia phone variants (Nokia care or your operator might tell you this, or you might find it on the internet somewhere) or whether you use Indian phones. If you have Indian phones then FP2 should be available and you should ask your operator where it is.
My adivce to Effortful is to kick up as much fuss as possible, here on these boards, with your local Nokia care and by writing to the head of Nokia in the US or to Stephen Elop if you have to. It really is disgraceful that FP1 is not available yet and that noone is willing to say why not or when it will be. I would do this, but as I have it now, I am arguing from a weak position.
Unfortunately, those of us in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan will just have to keep on waiting for FP2; we waited more than six months for FP1, so the current delay hasn't really registered yet.

About symbian belle fp2

I have nokia 603 and really it is better than android. After update it to belle fp2 it totally challenge the android platform except some bug should be repaired. I love the apps that nokia made its own. The most amazing app that i love so much is nokia city lens. After update to belle fp2 i lost it totally. It is a humble request to you make it available for belle fp2 also. Multitasking in my 603 is so so better than android. From these few words " long live symbian "..!!!!!!!!

hmmm have been aware of the new phones you would be talking about being released here for a couple of weeks. was told by a little birdy, that is in the right places to know, you might say, that they were coming. hehe. Be very interesting to see them when they arrive. I'm not to sure if i would leave my e7 at this stage to change to them, but am trying to keep an open mind.
I'm sure anyone who reads some of my post will realise how much i like my e7. More like i love my E7, after all it doesnt answer back, it does what i want it to do when i want it to do it. Always looks good, and is always ready to go where i want to go. what more could you want.hehe

Nokia belle FP2 c :drive storage problem

i m havin a great problem with nokia 603 belle fp2 device ... I have updated almost 1 n a half years ago ... Since then i facing storage problem in c drive ... Automatically memory vanishes from c drive ... Though I don't install apps in c drive , im facing this problem ! I have to restore my device when memory in the c drive goes low ! Is there any solution ? Please help me ...

Aside from the software update, did you install any particular app prior to this issue? Since the issue started after you updated the phone's software to Nokia Belle FP2, you may try reinstalling the SW using Nokia Suite. Just download it on your PC, and then connect the phone via a compatible USB cable. After that, launch Nokia Suite, and then go to SW Updates > Device Software Update > Reinstall current SW. You can download Nokia Suite from this link: Nokia Suite - Download and Support.
Let us know the outcome.

When belle fp2 is coming for nokia 701?

Belle fp2 has already been released for nokia 808. But why late for nokia 701? when is it coming actually?

Please refer to my original anwser stated on this thread but just to re-iterate Nokia has not officially announced any new updates or release dates suffice to say support will continue for Belle devices up until 2016. Anything you read on the net "claiming" to be leaks or "from an a official source" is all speculation and as you all know from the forum guidelines to quote
"Nokia does not comment on rumours or speculation concerning anything not officially announced by the company, and as such discussion of such matters on this forum is also not permitted."
So anything you read on google and other websites are not offical! As stated by Nokia these devices will have continued support till 2016 but at this present time nothing in regards to a feature pack 2 has been announced. Please wait for offically annoucements which you can read on the forums or the Nokia website. You can also check for updates as well through your devices and Nokia suite. When will Belle FP2 release for US N8-00

It's been over two months since Belle FP2 release and Nokia USA still has 111.030.0609 as the latest available OS. I have a non-branded N8, so it should get the update rapidly, no? Has anyone in US updated to Belle FP2?

Country variants such as your phone have the Belle Refresh update pushed to them by Nokia, but it is at your country's discretion whether they decide to release the update to consumers or not, with their own country customisations / apps etc.
As this is a user to user forum only, it would be better suggested that you contact Nokia Care in your country directly, and ask them whether Belle Refresh will be available in your country and for your N8's product code.

Download Opera Mobile 12 from Nokia Store. It's much faster in most situations. I think there won't be any major updates any more for the built-in browser of Belle FP2.

Nokia 701 - Belle FP2 - No "other" type for email ...

After upgrading to Belle FP2 I can only set Exchange ActiveSync accounts, and only one at a time. The “other” option to set other types of email is no longer available. ¿How can I configure IMAP/POP3 accounts?

Please do check ur email account setup app once again. It will be there. Or create a email widget on home screen and then try to setup . Hope this will help you.

We currently do not have any information on upcoming software updates suffice to say Nokia regularly deliver software updates to all phones to give our consumers both performance improvements as well as additional feature. Nokia is committed to continue software support for Symbian through 2016.
