The Chinese release is totally different with the ROW release. For Chinese release, GMS(Google apps including Google Play) is not officially supported while you can use some kind of hacked ways to install it. But it will bring many problems. So I suggest you flash the latest ROW release, it will solve your problem.

Problems with Vibe z2 row

Hello. I'll start with the most annoying one-if i try to use a third party launcher, because there's no stock mode unfortunately, the icons remain from the vibe ui, and can't be changed with any theme. Why's that and how can it be fixed?
Will there be a stock android mode for this phone? Please, this is the best feature in the pro version...
Updates here in Bulgaria, come much later, than updates for the exactly same model in Russia, for example - z2r.
Where can I find a .qsb file for z2r?

As for the Stock Android UI - you can bet people want it, and this was a very smart move in the Pro version. People love this feature, also having in mind that the Vibe UI is NOT going to win much customers in Europe or even outside China.

For the icons - If I understand right, all the system apps, that make the phone a phone - dialer, calendar, messanger, and so on, are threated as Lenovo apps, because they have "Lenovo" in the name of the apk, and this is the reason why not a single launcher, can't change these icons?
I did not mean that. All the apps like dialer or calendar should change as with any other phone runing a launcher. In my own experience with launchers they did change. I was thinking about Lenovo apps like SHAREIt or THEME CENTER.
Lenovo is very cool with this, in fact in S90 you can change the icons of the Lenovo Launcher for any icons that you import, and this feature might be available for more phones as of Q2 2015.
Thus, I do not know what is causing your problem with the icons in a third party launchers. The google apps should definitelly change, but messages and dialer as well. Try a different launcher or icon set.
Maybe someone could help you if you better desribe your problem and make a screen shot, to show that the icons dont change like in other phones. In my view they should.

I am opening this thread for VIBE Z2 PRO Users International Version
3 problems so far
I have installed Nova Launcher
1. With the stock sms function when i am not writing in english (latin based) but in greek or other Non-Latin languages, it just goes from 160 characters immediately down to 70/ or 80 and it doubles charges you. I put another sms application (go sms) but it does not support sending contacts or other staff and is really complicated? Anyone can help?
2. You can program it to double tap and close but it is not opening the same way. Double tap is not working?
3. when you dial a number at contact - it does not provide you with the contact but only the number

And your previous phones(smart or not...Android or not) didn't behave the same way?!

The K920 Vibe Z2 Pro dosen't support the ''Knock-Knock/Knock to unlock'' function.You can use a magnetic case/cover for that.

BTW.Instead of Nova why don't you try the ''Switch system UI style->Google UI''.....

Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro K920 ROW Lollipop bugs

When the phone is turned off and i plug the charger for the first couple of minutes it shows the green battery and the charging animation but the screen stays on and, the animation stop the charge percentage does not change but the phone keeps charging.
The touchscreen is much more responsive than Kitkat and i think is too sensitive.

Other problems noted - random restarts, forced closing of some programs, including stock apps (play store, contacts, messaging ...). I use a single SIM but sometimes, the phone search a signal for a second SIM but as I said already, I don't have inserted another SIM in the phone and seems to be possessed ... ) I made a factory data reset but did not help ... these bugs were not present in KitKat, only in Lollipop.

S860 and X2, Google not connecting on mobile network.

I live in Sweden. Had my S860 for 3 years and it has been working fine but some months ago it was not connecting on mobile network with crome and play store. Restart and it could work for some time the it was gone again. At the same time Hotspot, skype and OS update is working fine. Got a new sim card i november but it did not help. This was going more and more bad and finally it did not work at all. Tried to reverse OS a few steps back and still not working. So i tought that it was something to do with hardware. Now i bought a Vibe X2. Away from sweden for the moment (Saudi Arabia) but this one does the same when I try to connect. OS update working but Crome says ssl error and Play Store just wont connect. Saw some forums said it might be time and date that was wrong so i tried to change to local format but it was the same. My S860 i was waiting for 6 month before i could buy it (not for sale in Sweden) in Saudi. Haas been very pleased with it so now when it has been messing with me i had no problem to buy a new Lenovo phone. This time just waiting 3 month before i could buy it in Saudi. Hope this is something I can get some help to solve. /Nils

The S820 has been relesed in May 2013.

Can you install THIS ->Open the app->MTK Settings->Telephony/BandMode->SIM 1(Do the same for SIM2) and make a screenshot(Power&Volume-) ->post the screenshot here.Thanks

VIBE X2-CU Lenovo services only in Chinese without English language option

My Christmas gift was a Vibe X2. Now I'm one of a few German ladys who own a Vibe X2 in Germany I learned that I use a Chinese version of the phone instead of a European version.
However, a lot of features work very well e.g. phone calls, messaging, email/ exchange, google play store, notification center, security, camera, wifi and so on.
But, there are some features which I can't use because they are completely in Chinese and I definitely can't read Chinese
These are:
• Lenovo Smart Assistant, Mobile Assistant
When I install the Lenovo Smart Assistant from the European Lenovo Site then the Lenovo_Suite.exe starts automatically. And it is in Chinese designed from LENOVO Beijing limited and related to http://sj.lenovo.com/ I really would like to use this pc assistent instead of other available mobile assistant versions for android phones but I can't use it in Chinese language.
• Lenovo THEMECENTER
There are few parts which are in English, but the most parts are in Chinese.
I also have some problems with the Lock Screen. It doesn't matter which Lock Screen I use it disappears immediately after entering the pin for the sim card. And especially the bubbles ui lock screen doesn't work. When I use the list button on the left corner of the phone => theme => lock screen => bubbles ui/ 泡泡 only the little girl appears but no bubbles.
And the last problem is LTE 4G doesn't work. As I seeked out the phone uses TD-LTE:B38, 39, 40, 41MHz, FDD-LTE:B3, B7 MHZ and I learned that all TD-LTE bands only work in Chinese mainland. However, the FDD-LTE bands should work in Europe and so I started looking for a signal and running arround outside. I burned a lot of calories and got a lot of fresh air, but i did not found a signal. Does a FDD-LTE band which is integrated in a Chinese phone work in Europe?
It would be really nice if there is somewhere outside who could help me with these issues, please!!! I'm not a computer genius so I probably can't install a new EU-ROW version. It would be great if there would be other (software) solutions.

I just want to share my experiences with the above posted problems and possible solutions. Do not hesitate to correct me if I'm wrong!!! And sorry for the mixture of problems and the long post
Lock Screen I was able to reactivate the Bubbles UI Lock Screen by changing the default language from German to English US. I really don't know why this works, but it works. Now I can see the Bubbles UI on the Lock Screen. That's a nice feature, but I'm not sure if they are able to learn. The displayed applications are not the one I use really often. We will see....
FDD-LTE:B3, B7 MHZ which are integrated in a Vibe X2 CU version should work in Europe or in Germany, respectively. So if the phone provider supports FDD-LTE:B3, B7 there should be a 4G signal even in a Vibe X2 with a CU rom version. I haven't found a signal yet. But I keep trying. And I will improve my physical fitness by running around and looking for a 4G signal
Theme center and Mobile assistant To my knowledge there is no simple or easy way to change the Chinese language into English language or to connect the applications to other Lenovo servers which provide the English language. At the moment possible ways to deal with the problem are:
Wait and look for a EU rom version for X2-CU model which also supports dual-sim.
Learn either Chinese or prepare yourself to root your phone with a new EU version (if available). But be careful you will lost your warranty if you do so and probably brick your phone if your are not competent enough to root a mobile phone
Don't buy a Vibe X2-TO or X2-CU if your are not able to read and understand Chinese and if you would like to enjoy the full functionality of a Vibe X2
If you know better solutions, information's or ideas please do not hesitate to share!!! There will be many users and Lenovo friends from different markets who will be very happy!!!

[Lenovo Vibe X2 - AP]: SIM registration failed after firmware flashing

Hello forum,
I have a Lenovo Vibe X2 -AP, India version.
I flashed EU ROM in my phone only to realize that EU is meant for single SIM devices only. So in order to get second SIM working, I put CU & then TO ROM I found on needrom.com. With these Chinese ROMs my second 2G SIM started working but first LTE SIM was not getting registered. So I put EU ROM again .. Now both SIMs are not getting detected. IMEI is shown as "unknown".
There is no AP ROW ROM on the internet.
Is my device unrecoverable now? Do I Have any option?

Problems with the Lenovo Vibe x S960

I had bought Lenovo vibe x Almost 1 month ago and I am Experiencing lot of problems with this phone.
Although having a 1.5Ghz processor it lags in many apps and games like asphalt 8, fast n furious, robocop etc.
experienced lot of problems especially with the battery and earphones.
The earphones button doesnt work to pause/play music.
It says "try again when you're online"
Why do i have to be online to Play/Pause music.
Btw my earphone had also screwed up.
After using it for a while the right side had stopped working.
Once i had charged it to 100% and then i removed charger and locked screen and then it stopped working.
Didnt switch on again.
Sent for repair and they tell me its working.
After receiving from service it stopped working again.
When connected to wifi or data usage, it restarts automatically sometimes.
Cannot boost wifi usage well, slows down wifi speed if others are using the wifi on their phones. My phones wifi slows, but others' phones still work.(embarrassing).
Takes long time to turn on data and get connected to cellular networks.
Dont feel like buying any lenovo product in future.
Also it was very difficult to find support for lenovo phones.
Take my advice DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.

After update android KitKat, my device having a lot of problem like:
Bluetooth software missing, Wi-Fi connection problem, Screen always hang.
That, I had reset to factory setting but Android KitKat still no don't change. After reset, my device show Your Device on metamode. Then it come missing some ROM file and corrupted.

Lenovo s850 how to install VIBE UI 2.0 ?

A few weeks ago I bought a Lenovo S850. There is now installed ROM S850_ROW_S211_140929 is the last version. The problem is that there are no Polish language.
Can somebody suggest how to install the ROM: VIBEUI_V2.0_1439_7.4.1_DEV_S850_WC87 or
VIBEUI_V2.0_1437_7.3.1_ST_S850_NK_W_EE65
I think there will be a Polish language, since the ROM version:
VIBEUI_V1.5_1419_2_ST_S850 (I had it installed for a moment) was a Polish language and unique pink theme with icons as nails, but it did not work Lenowo illuminated logo on the back.
It is very important for my daughter to be this pink theme with icons in the shape of nails.
Please help to install ROM VIBE UI

What makes you think that those two firmwares support Polish?!
From the build number I can tell that those are Chinese firmwares(Only supporting Chinese & English and not having GMS>Google services like the Play store).NO POLISH LANGUAGE!
By ''I had it installed for a moment) VIBEUI_V1.5_1419_2_ST_S850'' I suppose you had THIS or THIS.Those are custom firmwares.NOT OFFICIAL!
The official ROW(Rest of the World/International) firmware dosen't support Polish probably because Lenovo never intended to officially sell the S850 in Poland.....Marketing strategy I suppose.
And yes...The ROW firmwares have a limited number of themes that can be applied.
IMPORTANT:There are two versions of the S850 >S850 sold in China and in other selected countries
>S850T sold only in China and meant only for the Chinese market.
The firmware build number(Chinese VibeUI 2.0) of the two models are almost identical:

Lenovo Vibe X

I recently bought Lenovo Vibe X (S960), however there are no croatian language on it. Is it possible to install croatian language ? I suppose I need to install new firmware that has multilanguage support, but I cannot find such download link. Does anyone hava a link for download or is willing to make a backup of his firmware with multilanguage support ?

You're already running a custom firmware....Unfortunately even the official ROW(rest of the World) firmware dosen't support HR.
The easiest way to add HR to your phone is to root the phone(That's if you're not already rooted) and install THIS or THIS .
If you're not already rooted use the latest Vroot version to obtain root access

K920 alias Vibe Z2 Pro SW development roadmap

Hello Guys,
I wwant to ask if there is any official statement / roadmap from Lenovo for K920 (alias Vibe Z2 Pro).
For example, I have a friend in Germany and he bought the K920 recently and he already have some SW releases out (I am still stuck on k920-row-s130-140923 build, but I live in Slovakia)
Is there any list of when some country gets some version of SW?
Is there any commitment from Lenovo to bring us the android 5.0?
I searched the Web and I was not able to find any relevant info, so this forum should be right place to ask

But dont know whats inside.

K920 original ROW - Notification center stopped

Hello!
I have a problem with my K920 Vibe Z2 pro.
It is an original ROW Version (no ROMs) and is used in Germany.
Every time my power level is reaching 15%, my notification center stops.
I really searched all over Google and only found people with this problem when they klick "more" in the notification bar (works on mine) and solutions by installing ROMs (mine stays original).
Does anyone have a solution for my problem? (Specially staff?)

Lenovo Vibe Z2 (NOT PRO) Lollipop bugs

Hi, would you be so kind and provide the previous (KitKat) ROM for Vibe Z2 (not Pro) too?
I also have some bugs after upgrading my Z2 (but less than experienced in case of K920). Maybe I'll wait for a while for the next OTA update but if I decide to downgrade I'd like to have the proper ROW firmware for SDFUSE method.

And the Clean Master, that you recommended me, is hundred times more aggressive than the Security app. So, thanks for the idea, but I hate Clean Master!
Now I am using an app named 'LBE Security Master' It is a Chinese app, but someone made an English version of it (can be obtained from XDA-developers.com forum).
It was just a suggestion .You can install and use whatever you want.The choice is yours.
....but still not the same...
Security was installed as a system app and in most cases was quite deep ''implemented'' into the OS....
The brand new Lenovo K3 Note phone has Lollipop right from factory and among the pre-installed Lenovo apps there is Safe Center too! (See screenshot attached.)
The K3 Note isn't a ROW(rest of the World/Lenovo Android devices sold outside China) model.It's a China only model meant to be used only in China.Unofficial sellers tweak this kind of models,like the K3 Note and add GMS,multilingual support(CN devices are generally only in CN and EN)and remove unusable(for non CN speaking users) Chinese apps....other small modifications are also made.The downside of this is that you can't really OTA update or if you do.....Example of CN only model after OTA update->Message 1
Chinese models do not have or use any GMS/Google services(Not allowed in China).
Android is ''split'' into two distinct parts: AOSP (Android Open Source Project) that allows manufacturers to freely use Android on their devices, and the closed GMS(Google Mobile Services), which gives access to Google Play services and Google branded apps like Maps,Gmail,etc for manufacturers that agree to various guidelines.
As far as I know the ''elimination'' of the Security app was a Google requirement.
Please Lenovo, address this issue immediately!
Like i said,don't think it's up to Lenovo.
