Vibe x2 no display , only green LED blinking

my 10 months old Vibe X2, updated last month with Lollipop, display is blank , only green Led blinking. I tried restarting and taking out the SIM but no response. Should I take it to service?

Hello happyjoe,
you can easily check if your memory is operating in Dual Channel mode or Single channel mode.  Just run CPU-Z and click on the tab labeled "memory".
It would be very strange if your retailer is right when it comes to memory population for Dual Channel mode.  Usually, the color of the memory slots is different for each channel. For Dual Channel Mode your modules should be installed either in DIMM_DDR2_1+3 or DIMM_DDR2_2+4.
Quote
In the manual I received with the MB the pictures on page 2-7 imply that dual channel support should be configured with the sticks in OPPOSITE color sockets (So DIMM_DDR2_1 & DIMM_DDR2_3).  However, in the manual online - http://download1.msi.com.tw/files/downloads/mnu_exe/M7338v1.0.zip - this information is conveniently left out.  It appears that what my retailer is telling me is the truth, but I would like to know for sure.  What is the proper way to configure the MB for Dual Channel support (and MSI, you may want to document this!)?
Your link leads to the less detailed Multilanguage User manual.  The English User Manual which contains information about memory population rules can be found online a well:

  • Classic Green LED Blinking - how do I stop it?

Hello, I got a new Classic last week, and have 3 problems with it; 1) the green LED is blinking constantly, annoying at night, how do i stop it ?? 2) the battery indicator never shows more than 60% charged. 3) Software 10.3.1.1779 is installed, and it keeps telling me an update is available, and downloads 10.3.1.1779 again... Thanks in advance for help, Kevin

  • Garbled display on 1st Power on. K8N Neo4 SLI & 6600GT. 4 green leds

I assembled my 3700 San Diego, K8N Neo 4 Platinum SLI, MSI 6600GT with OCZ 520W PS.  On my first power on, following occurred.
    1.  Got 1 beep & went through all LED lights winding up with 4 green LEDs finally hanging with a totally grabled display CRT screen.  Could only make out a couple of letters V
    2.  When I removed the Raptor HD connection & restarted, it loaded Win 64 setup (from DVD ROM since it couldn't find HD)winding up with a garbled screen but I could barely make out the familiar Windows setup continue words, so I'm at least at a point when I could start installing Windows.
    3.  The 6600GT has no power pins, so it can't be that. CRT connection is tight.  I took out the card & put it back in. Same garbled display.
I tried a LCD display...same garbled look. All else looks okay.  Forum searches only gave a clue that initial display drivers all come from the 6600GT card to get one started.  I can't do anything in BIOS  as I can't tell if del is getting me into BIOS and even if it is, I can't read it to do anything. I can't do anything with driver updates as Win 64 isn't installed.  I haven't tried resetting BIOS
    Anyone have a similar experience?
    Regards, Ron

No solution yet. What model CPU are you running?  You might want to add your signature sytem so people on this board can know what you're running in the way of cpu, power, mobo, etc.  I ordered another MSI 6600GT td128e from ZipZoomFly.  It should arrive Monday.  If it also fails, then it must be the K8N Neo4 Platinum SLI.
I tried a 3d monitor and tried another Power Supply, took out 1 memory card.  Nothing works.  I have an RMA in to ZZF. If it fails Monday with the 2d card, they said I could send the whole assembly of mobo, graphics cards and 3700 back for them to check out.  If it works, it means it's the intial 6600GT & I'll just send that back.  This makes 3 of us now that have this problem.  Other guy has an RMA in also to ZZF. See my post at https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=81206.0   I talked to MSI by phone; they couldn't offer anything except possibly defective card or graphics slot on the mobo.  They never did answer my problem submission from their web site
I posted a question that if both LED checks #6 and #9 are green and these appear to check for VGA, does this mean it's unlikely that it's the mobo. No answer yet.
I have an uneasy feeling, though that it's not the 6600GT & that the 2d one will fail also.  I tried to find a computer repair shop in White Plains, NY that might be able to test out the card for me for a fee, but amazingly most have gone out of business, and few others only repair full systems you bring in.  Also, AMD64 and SLI are pretty new technologies so maybe nobody has a system around.

  • BlackBerry 8110 does not initialize only LED blinks for 5 secs

    Hi all,
I bought a used BlackBerry 8110. It worked fine in the beginning - then during some audio recording I suddenly got an hourglass cursor and the handy was frozen.
Removing the battery - even for 24h - did not help. The moment I put in the battery the LED starts shining for approx. 5-6 secs, then it extinguishs for 2-3 sec, and so on. Thats all what happens. The display remains black.
I also tried to re-install the complete device operating system but without any success. But when installing the OS the  ApploaderWebSL-Upgrade.msi was able to communicate with the handy and determines the installed software components and versions. Also the LED blinking stopped (LED was off) and the Apploader was able to delete all software installed on the device and write the new software. When that finishs and the Apploader tries to initialize (reboot) the handy the blinking described above starts again but the handy (and display) remains off.
Does anyone have an idea what to do ???
    Any help is appreciated !!!
    Thanks a lot,

  • Satellite A10: Battery-LED blinks with AC

Not too long ago I bought a new battery for my notebook. About a half year it worked well. But one day I couldn't start the notebook without AC. I thought, the battery was simply discharged. So I set up the AC-adapter, but the next time, the notebook didn't start either. With AC no problem.
So I charged the battery, and when Windows said, Battery Full, and the LED was green, I disconnected the AC. But then, the notebook fully stopped, as if there was no battery.
Now it is this way: it doesn't matter what Windows sais. The Notebook doesn't start without AC. After a disconnection of AC, the battery-LED blinks fastly orange. When windows runs, it only blinks slowly orange.
Where is the problem? Does anyone know a solution?

    Hi
In my opinion there are two possibilities.
Either the battery is dead and must be replaced or the notebooks power supply electronic malfunctions.
The first possibility is not serious problem because the battery replacement should helps to solve this issue but if the notebooks power supply electronic does not work properly, the whole motherboard should be replaced.
I think its advisable to contact the ASP in your country because the guys could locate the fault very quickly and could provide the best solution.
    Good luck buddy

  • My 27" iMac displays vertical green lines when turned on and then will not boot up

Can anyone tell me why my 27" iMac displays vertical green lines when it is turned on and then will not boot up?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The display or graphic card are damaged. The only thing you can do is to take your computer to an Apple Store or reseller to get your computer repaired.
If you use an external display with your Mac, connect it to your computer and see if these lines appear on the external display. If so, it's a graphic card problem

  • Display output on LED TV from DisplayPort on zbook 15

    Hi,
    I have a notebook zbook 15 Product D5H42AV.
On this laptop I have a DisplayPort output and a Thunderbolt output.
I have bought on the market an adapter (not from HP) from DisplayPort to HDMI.
I cannot get the output displayed on my LED TV (full HD).
Could it be that the adapter supports only DisplayPort 1.1 and not 1.2?
If I want to see the screen on TV, shall I use the a DisplayPort adapter or Thunderbolt adapter?
Is there any way to troubleshoot why I cannot display the output on TV from my laptop?
    This question was solved.

    Hi Provost,
thank you for your feedback. I have tried but still not working.
    According to this document:
    http://h20195.www2.hp.com/V2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA5-2657ENW
it seems that I should connect the HDMI to DisplayPort:
*DisplayPort connector supports a DisplayPort display, a HDMI display with an DP-to-HDMI dongle, a VGA display with a DP-to-VGA dongle, or a DVI display with a DP-to-DVI dongle.
I have a Samsung TV Series 6 with 4 different HDMI input:
    HDMI1 (STB)
    HDMI2 (ARC)
    HDMI3
    HDMI4 (DVI)
I have tried with all of them unsuccessfully. I'm afraid that my DP-to-HDMI dongle that I bought on a local internet shop and it's made in China is somehow not fully compatible with my zbook.
Maybe I should buy the original one from HP.
When I connect the laptop to TV I saw that somehow the TV see that the port is connected but it says "No Signal".
Also pressing F4 and checking with the Screen Resolution windows (in Windows 7) shows the second display as VGA. So it looks it does not detect the DisplayPort.
Is it possible that the port must be enabled (bios or Windows setting) or that I miss some drivers?
Checking on the Internet I found that there are some adapter that can connect also to the thunderbolt port:
    https://m.cdw.com/shop/products/StarTech.com-Mini-DisplayPort-to-HDMI-Video-Adapter-Converter/197508...
The product is described as compatible with zbook 15
However the official HP site sell a dongle only for the DisplayPort:
    http://shopping1.hp.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/WW-USSMBPublicStore-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewProdu...
The adapter I'm using can be seen in this page:
    http://media.extron.com/download/files/userman/68-1887-01_B.pdf
It's the "DisplayPort Male to HDMIF Active Adapter" (top right code 26-655-01).
I'm a bit confused now. I don't know if I have to buy a different adapter or if there is a way to troubleshoot my problem and see if the DisplayPort is enabled and working on my laptop.
    Regards.
    Alberto

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Before you proceed to try and reload your OS, I recommend something a bit less destructive...
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Issue with Apple Camera VendorID_0x106B ProductID_0x1570 green light blinks continually...camera does not work in photo booth or face time

Green light blinks continually...camera does not work in photo booth or face time.Any suggestions?

    Hi Rogerya,
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you may be experiencing issues with the built-in FaceTime camera (also known as iSight) on your MacBook Air. The following resource provides relevant troubleshooting information that you can try:
How to Troubleshoot iSight - Apple Support
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2090
Important: Follow these instructions in order. Test the camera between steps to see if the issue is resolved.
    Built-in iSight cameras
These steps are for iSight cameras that are built into a computer, such as the iMac G5 (iSight) or later, the MacBook, or MacBook Pro.
    1. See if the issue is application-specific.
Try another application (iSight works with applications like iChat, PhotoBooth, and iMovie HD 6) to see if the iSight camera exhibits the same behavior in all applications. If it only happens in one application, try reinstalling that application.
    2. See if the issue is user-specific.
Test your iSight camera in another user account. If the issue only occurs in one user, the issue would be isolated to user settings.
    3. Find out if the computer recognizes the iSight
Check System Profiler (in the Utilities folder, inside the Applications folder). Under the USB header, check to see if the iSight camera is detected.
    4. Reset SMC or PMU
Reset your computer's SMC or PMU, and then check System Profiler again. (SMC reset instructions for iMac G5 (iSight), Intel-based iMacs; PMU reset instructions for MacBook and MacBook Pro.)
If your built-in iSight camera is still not behaving correctly after trying all these steps, you may need to contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.

  • Green light blinking continously on Airport Express

    Hi,
since 2 days after software update on Mac OSX10.6.8 I've got my AEB down.
The green light is blinking continuously.
I tried all what i could find on the net :
    - reset via utiltiy : Airport Utility 5.6.1 doesn't show any network, neither options, tab, buttons or what so ever.
    - software reset of AEB : green light still blinking
    - hardware reset of AEB : the same, no orange after 1 second
    - reset AEB to default : the same, no orange after 1 second
Internet is ok via Ethernet cable thru the DSL modem.
I would like to understand if it is a hardware trouble or firmware/software trouble.
After pushing reset button of AEB, it is written that led blink orange after 1 second. Does it mean the hardware is kaputt?
Or is it an update of the firmware that went wrong?
    Thank you.

    I saw this post https://discussions.apple.com/message/17298925#17298925
    though i'm still in wonder.
Because status light don't mention green blinking as a fault but as "normal" :
"Si vous choisissez l’option Clignotement en cas d’activité dans le menu local Voyant d’état (dans la sous-fenêtre Borne d’accès des réglages AirPort de l’utilitaire AirPort), le voyant d’état clignote en vert pour indiquer un fonctionnement normal."
    that i translate in :
if you select blinking option in case of activities in local menu Status led (in sub-windows "Borne d'accès" of tuning Airport Utility), the led blinks green to say working normally.
But operating guide says "Flashing green : AirPort Express is starting up. The light flashes for one second."

  • Mac Mini LED blinks and shuts down at startup, takes 2-3 tries to boot...

I have a Mac Mini PPC 1.42GHz. When i boot it up after non-use (cold), the LED blinks once per second and it boots all the way into MacOS and shuts down several seconds later. It will usually do the same thing the second time around. On third boot its usually fine. Not thinking its related, I have reinstalled MacOS anyways. No good...
    Thanks,
    Rich

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
The flashing LED is usually indicative of a power-on self test failure, normally leading to the system failing to boot at all. Once per second would indicate the system fails to recognize available RAM.
The fact this happens when the system is cold (with an implication that it doesn't happen when the system is warm) might indicate the RAM module is no longer firmly inserted, or that the contact face on the pins has oxidized slightly. In this situation, I'd begin by opening the system and removing and then reseating the RAM - in the G4 minis this is relatively easy since there is only one RAM slot, and it is exposed with just the top of the casing removed.
