Vibe Z2 Pro - Few newby questions

Hello, as a newby, I have a few simple questions about Z2 Pro and Vibe UI:
(a) the main issue I have with Vibe UI on this phone is that the 4-apps-per-row look very huge, can you cange it to 5 apps per row with some settings? that would be really useful, as most other big phones are 5 apps per row.
(b) can I make a guest mode? I think I saw with some other phones, that you can make a guest mode, so that your little cousens don't see all your apps that they don't need to see. I know there is secure mode but that is sothing else.
(c) can you use Z2 Pro to make the payments with the phone? I know it has the NTF, but don't you need a finger print scanner for that?
(d) in the camera settings, when I tested the phone, I could not choose 1:1 for the front camera, only for the selfie camera? Is that really so? I would not see why not.
(e) in the camera settings, I can choose between 3:4 and 16:9 but I somehow could not find the settings for image resolution. what do I do if I want low resolution photos or very high resolutio photos?
(f) I assume, you can't charge the phone wirelessly, that would be too much to ask for

Unfortunately I don't know, what is the "Security Zone" & will be very grateful if you explain a bit about this feature or provide an appropriate link.
In order to switch to "stock android", you have to do the next:
1) Go to Settings > About phone > Version information, tap 7 times on "Software version number". This will unlock "Developer options" settings section.
2) Go to Settings > Developer options > Switch System UI Style and enjoy,

  • Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro (K920) battery charging time

    Hello everyone,
    I wonder, if anyone could help me, please.
    I'm experiencing an interesting issue related to battery charging procedure of brand-new Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro (K920).
    The thing is, the first two battery charging procedures took about let say 2 hours 40 minutes both.
    But the third battery charging procedure took about 3 hours and 10 minutes exactly!, which I consider to be rather strange, mostly because of web reviews of this smartphone, where 2 hours and 30 minutes typical charging time is described.
    I understand the fact that brand-new battery has to be initially "formatted" and it's capacity is therefore gradually increasing after few battery charging attempts.
    Needles to say, after that third battery charging procedure, the battery life has been also significantly improved. I use genuine Lenovo charger which comes with the phone in the box. The only thing, which I changed since first two battery charging procedures, was turning ON "Core efficiency" in the Lenovo Battery Manager.
    Could it be the reason of such extended battery charging time or is it perfectly normal bacause of gradually improving capacity for brand-new battery? Could it be defective battery? Has anyone of the owners the same experience or what is yours typical battery charging time using in-box charger?

  • Cannot send emails from my corporate account with Smartphone Lenovo K920 (Vibe Z2 Pro)

    Hi All, 
    I bought a Smartphone Lenovo K920 (Vibe Z2 Pro).
    I have configured my hotmail account and everything is working perfectly.
    But for my corporate email account (with IMAP Settings), incoming emails are ok but when I try to send emails, I get the message "email failed to send".
    For information, I have used the same settings on my Android tablet and everyting is fine from this side.
    Does someone has the same issue?

    How to sync contacts and calendar with CloudMagic?
    ....Security must be blocking CloudMagic from accessing contacts&calendar.You're using contacts from the Gmail account I suppose.
    Go to the Security app>Privacy Guard and set CloudMagic as  ''Trusted'' or grant CloudMagic access to Personal information.
    Then go to Settings>scroll down to Accounts and resync the Google and CloudMagic accounts.
    Let me know how it goes.

  • Vibe Z2 pro GPS problems

    Hi all, Just bought this lovely phone which I very much love, however it does have some issues. Although I bought it from China, I was assured it would be flashed and completely UK compatible, which it seems to be as It does have Google Play store and everything as expected. However I use Google Maps daily and depend upon it for my work but this phone has a problem. When I input my destination, it finds it no problem, then when I click 'Navigate' it just says 'searching for GPS' and stays on that screen. I have no navigation! This is very strange since it finds the location and destination with ease ...just no navigation. There are other problems such as, my K9 app will not push messages and if any do come through on the notification bar, they disappear immediately....how strange! More things but my main concern is the GPS issue...if anyone has any suggestions for a fix, that would be very much appreciated. I have tried all the apps like GPS Test, Satellite Check, GPS Fix and GPS Status.  None of them can find any satellits or signal. I have an HTC phone which works perfectly as does my son's iPhone and wife's phone, so it is NOT my signal strength, this is a Vibe issue. Thanks in advance. Android version number: 4.4.2

    1. With the stock sms function when i am not writing in english (latin based) but in greek or other Non-Latin languages, it just goes from 160 characters immediately down to 70/ or 80 and it doubles charges you.
    And your previous phones(smart or not...Android or not) didn't behave the same way?!

    2. You can program it to double tap and close but it is not opening the same way. Double tap is not working?
    The K920 Vibe Z2 Pro dosen't support the ''Knock-Knock/Knock to unlock'' function.You can use a magnetic case/cover for that.
    3. when you dial a number at contact - it does not provide you with the contact but only the number
    Can you tell me your software build number?Settings>About phone>Version information....
    BTW.Instead of Nova why don't you try the ''Switch system UI style->Google UI''.....

  • Vibe Z2 Pro vs. Vibe Z2: Confusion

    Z2 Pro and Z2 Confusion
    Every store and new user I speak to gets confused between Z2 Pro (6 inch) and Z2 (5.5 inch). Most people don't know this are two different phones. And they run two different versions of Vibe UI.  These phone could no be more different (screen, camera, vibe ui, processor).
    When I google in internet "Review Vibe Z2" all I get in results is reviews for "Vibe Z2 Pro". When I ask for a cover for Vibe Z2 they want to sell me a cover for Vibe Z2 Pro. Would be better to call this Vibe Y2 to get the entire XYZ alphabet going and avoid confusion. 
    Stock android only on Z2 Pro
    I think the stock android only runs on the Vibe Z2 Pro, I could not run it on Vibe Z2. I would suggest for your other teams to enable stock android on Vibe Z2 and Vibe X2 as well. The Vibe Z2 Pro got great reviews for this, and this would just increase the demand for Lenovo  further.
    I still prefer to use Vibe UI, although I would prefer to user my own icon library, but having the stock android option increases the value of the phone (almost doubles the value). Anyway, you can't avoid users getting another launcher, so just enabling stock android, would get you several extra customers at no harm.

    Hi everyone.
    Its my first time to own a lenovo phone and its my first post also in this forum. Needless to say, i fell in love with the lenovo vibe z2 pro.
    I just have a few concerns:
    1. The power button in my unit is wobbly (at least compared to the volume buttons). Is this normal, and is the case of the users here, too?
    2. There is a little light leak below the capacitive buttons, on the frame connecting the glass. I only notice this if i am in a DARK room when the buttons light up. No dealbreaker for me, but i would just like to know if this is the same as your unit, too?
    The first thing i notice in this forum is that threads are not that organized. With all due respect to the admins, I wish the there were threads under different model names.
    Im sorry if i had to create a new thread for this topic. If already existing, please merge/delete admins.

    Does this phone support 802.11ac ? On GSM Arena it sais that its only Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n but I just cant beleive it doesnt support ac ??!

  • Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro getting restart always

    Hi
    I am using Lenovo Vibe Z2 pro and this phone gets restart automatically regularly. I am getting very fed up and even tried factory data reset but this error is coming again.
    Phone automatically goes for shut down and then blue light comes up in LED, I will be honest here and I have mussed atleast four to five meetings by not waking up on time as fone was shutdown automatically.
    I am attaching sreenshot of the setting page, please see and let me know the resoltion asap else I might need to switch to any other brand by selling Lenovo.

    Did you had this issue from day 1 ?
    Could be a software issue(the OS isn't installed correctly) or may be a hardware issue.
    You should take it to a Lenovo service center for a check-up.Your warranty should cover this.

  • Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro getting restart automatically.

    I am using Lenovo Vibe Z2 pro and i have observed from last couple of week this phone gets restart automatically and then it's shows one sign in the top up of the screen, this sign is with the phone and red bubble in the secure icon.
    Can anybody help me to understand and fix this problem ?

    The phone is DSDS(Dual Sim/Dual Standby) not DSFA(Dual Sim/Full active).

  • Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro with no stock Android

    Hello there, I recently bought in China my Lenovo Vibe Z2 pro (K920).It is rooted but not stable many hang ups and resets later I decided to update it.The following update was available. Version number: VIBEU_V2.0_1448_ST_K920_CMCC After this update still a lot of problems so eventually I did a factory reset. Now I have a phone with just the Vibe user interface. I have learned on youtube how to boot the phone in stock android to go into developer mode.But, in developer mode I have no option to switch it to stock android with google play etc. Now I have a beautiful phone but no google play to install whatapp Facebook and other cool apps. How can I make this phone a stock android phone? Thanks in advance, Ger van de Kolk

    The Chinese K920 version is meant to be sold and used only in China with a certain local carrier/provider(That's why it's got the ''China Mobile'' logo on the back).The main difference between the Chinese and the international K920 version is the GSM receiver(hardware difference)....
    .....It seams there is a partial workaround(To make the Chinese version more ''internationally 3G/4G friendly'') but my experience with the Chinese K920 is limited and in this case it would be better to ask the actual users->

  • Microphone settings (?) - Lenovo K920 Vibe Z2 Pro

    I am writing to you for a peculiar issue. I am using the phone for less than a month...and have not explored it yet fully...some time back, I bounced upon an option to change the microphone setting. I am unable to find that option again. Actually, when I am talking to someone one with this phone, the person on the other side is not able to hear me properly...so I thought of changing the mic. setting...but I am just not able to find it back.
    Could you pls. help me with that.

    The "Smart Sound Settings" are available for the K920 Vibe Z2 PRO.
    Haven't had the chance to ''play'' with a S90 yet,and some settings are model and firmware build number dependent.
    ....If you discover any sound/voice or general conversation enhancements on the S90 please fell free to share them.Might help other S90 users.
