Viber and do not disturb feature

iPhone 4s with IOS 6
The new Do not Disturb feature.
It will not ring (no sound) when the New Do not disturb feature on the iphone is turned on.Which I know is what it's supposed to do,but  even if you allow the contact to pass through(allow favorites, all groups, etc.) and are outside of the blocked time perimeters. You do get the badge icon in the lock screen when a call comes in,but only after touching the home button to start the wake. Then you see there is an incoming call. You'll have to be psychic and predict the incoming call. It does sound when a viber call comes in if the phone is awake.
PS. crazy battery drainage
I was going through the settings to make sure all the right features were in place and watched the battery % drop very quickly in only about a 10-15 minute period. Wow IOS 5 flash back, but this seems worse. Yikes!

First thing to try is a reboot of your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
My Do Not Disturb schedule worked fine for me last night. I turned that feature back on yesterday, January 7, 2013 and DND came on and turned off as scheduled last night. Hopefully the reset described above will help you.

  • "Do not Disturb" feature is not working with iOS6 update in iPhone4

I have updated iOS6 on my iphone 4. I tried to turn on "Do not Disturb" feature, schedule time then test it but it is not working. Phone is ringing with vibrate & tone. kindly fix this bug.

When I first tested the Do Not Disturb function, I discovered two ways it could seem like it was not working. One, as mentioned above, was that my screen was not locked. The other was the settings under Settings/Notifications/Do Not Disturb. If your settings allow calls from favorites and then you try to test the feature from a phone in your favorites list, it will not block the call. Similarly, if you are testing multiple times and the allow repeated call option is set, the call will also get through.
And one other observation. All of the material I have seen describes the action of the Do Not Disturb function as silencing the notifications. For incoming calls it does more than that; it actually rejects the call so the caller goes straight to voicemail rather than just ringing silently.

Do not disturb feature is on but locks out my favorites also.  Help

Haha! Slap to the forehead Duh moment! I figured it out! Major DUH! I kept turning the DND on so of course the DND moon stayed in place! I suddenly realized what I was doing, set the schedule instead, tested it, and it is fine!

  • TS4510 Do not disturb feature

I turn on the do not disturb feature but my phone still rings normally.
Why advertise it and have it on your products?
    What is being done wrong?

I think your Favorites List is automatically set as an exception list for Do Not Disturb, so their calls will ring through even while your screen is locked (but other alerts are still suppressed).  You can go to:
Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb > Allow Calls From > and see if there's a group enabled.
You can set any self-made group, your favorites list, or your whole contacts list as exceptions.
This could be why your phone is ringing even while the screen is locked. Hope this helps.

  • HT5463 Questions about the "Do Not Disturb" feature not addressed in documentation

    Hello,
I have some questions about the "Do Not Disturb" feature which are not quite addressed by the documentation.
When DND is enabled, will badge app icons still be displayed?
When DND is turned off, either manually or automatically, will Notification Center banners be available for alerts which occurred while DND was on, or are they lost forever?
I guess the main questions is, is DND like an answering machine, which stores up your notifications until you are ready to deal with them?  Or is it a return of the "turn off all notifications" feature that existed in iOS 4, albeit in a more evolved form?
    Thanks,
    - Steve

If you have a schedule set, but activate it manually, it will de-activate at the scheduled time anyway. It behaves perfectly on my 4S, my wife's 4, and both of our iPads.
If you have an iPhone 5, it could be tied to the known issue with automatic time set going Wonky on LTE networks. If that's the case, try disabling the automatic time set and see if it behaves itself.

  • TS4510 My Do Not Disturb feature is still not working...anybody else?

January 8, and Do Not Disturb is still not working. Any tips, info, etc.?

Ive reset my phone every day since the 7th and mine still isnt working either.  I turn DND back on and it immediately gives me the crescent moon, even tho my times are set for 9pm-6am.  I dont want to have to remember to set it every night and turn it off every morning.  And whats more annoying, is almost every time I reset my phone, I go into 'no service' and have to reset my network settings.  :/  Im with jimesser, I hope Apple gets a fix for it soon, cuz whatever was supposed to automatically fix itself looks like it didnt for a lot of us!

  • DO Not Disturb Feature is not working

    Fellow IPHONE users ----
Anybody else having the same issue? I'm trying to use it on my 4s.
    Thanks

  • Do not Disturb feature don't work.

The moon icon (do not disturb) in status bar disappear when I return to home screen. This feature don't work

I had the same issue. Found it out.
You need to set the device in locked mode with black screen.
    Then it works.
If the screen is switched on, the device "thinks" you are doing something and can also take a call.
Try it out. Black sreen for a minute or so.

  • Do not disturb feature does not work since 1st JAN 2013

    Following settings are done
    1. Do Not Disturb is Enabled (ON) and hence a moon icon is visible in Status Bar.
    2. In Notification, Sort App: By Time is selected.
    3. Scheduled is Enabled and time range is set between 10pm to 7am.
    4. Allow Calls from: Favorites is selected.
    5. Repeated calls is turned ON.
With the above settings, the features was working fine till 31 DEC 2012. 1st Jan 2013, morning 11am I saw, the moon icon was displayed in the status bar. I checked the settings of Do not disturb, there was no change in settings.
Please suggest what's gone wrong. Why this is not working.
    Thanks.

  • HT5463 If using Do Not Disturb feature, will the alarm clock still notify me if set to do so?

If I turn on Do Not Disturb, will my alarm clock on my phone still sound to wake me?

Remember, if you do try and test it as randers4 says, you will need to make sure you put the phone in sleep mode for DND to work. If you set an alarm, turn on DND and the phone is still awake, it would work since DND does not work with the phone awake. So, set the alarm, turn on DND, put the phone to sleep and see if the alarm goes off.
