Vibrate notification Profile customization

On old BB you used to be able to customize your ring profiles... ie on the vibrate profile you could say how many tones and at what length for each notification. either this function has been taken away or I haven' t figured it out yet....anyone? Also, why am I not able to control volume during a call, most annoying when i want to turnthe volume upfor a soft speaker.

I agree. Nothing like driving down the highway waiting for an important email and an email comes and you pull over just to find out it is a personal junk mail. Special notification always worked. Add to the OS but do not take away.

Notification Profiles

I have a new 8330 and have edited each of the notification profiles to my liking. However, I am only getting vibrations on reciept of messages and calls, even though the profile I have activated clearly indicates tone+vibrate for the type of communication coming in. This occurs for incoming calls, emails and SMS texts from multiple sources. Could there be some sort of global selection I have inadvertantly selected? LDB

After updating to Firefox 7.0.1, menu bar for Google,yahoo, Facebook (message,notification,profile,home) and others site are disabled. How can solve this problem?

after updating to Firefox 7.0.1, menu bar for Google(web ,image,video,map etc),yahoo, Facebook (message,notification,profile,home) and others site are disabled. even I cant log out from different sites cz the log out bar is completely disabled. I tried with Firefox 4;5 and 6, same problem exist . I tried by active all add ons for facebook, same problem exist. If I use internet explorer , I don't find such problem with it.
How can I solve this problem?

As I've mentioned above, I was informed that updating to 5.0.1 would '''require''' me to '''delete''' the current version and then install the new one. And doing so will involve losing all my bookmarks. I guess I should have been more specific and detailed there. By losing, I didn't mean losing them forever. I'm aware that they're secured in some place and deleting and installing the software doesn't harm its existence. What I meant that if I install the new version, I'd have to delete the old one. And after installing the new version, I'd have to transfer them (bookmarks) back from wherever they are. Get it? When it updated from 3.6.9 to 3.6.13, and from 3.6.13 to 3.6.18, I didn't need to follow that process. They were already present on their own.
BTW, I'm having no problems with 3.6.18 but after learning about the existence of version 5.0.1, I'm a bit too eager to lay my hands over it.

[iOS 8] How to turn off vibrate notifications on new calendar invitations?

I don't want any notification when I receive a new calendar invitation via Exchange. I had no problems disabling this in iOS 7 and earlier, but with iOS 8 I can't seem to turn off the vibrate notification. In Settings...Notifications...Calendar...Invitations, I've turned off everything there. Notification Sound is set to None, and Vibration is also set to None.
Yet whenever I receive a new calendar invitation, my phone does a short vibrate. No alert shows up on the screen, just a short vibrate.
How do I silence this thing?
Using iOS 8, iPhone 5S 64GB.

Here is what finally worked for me in ios8 (8.1.2)
Settings > Notifications > Calendar > Invitations > Notification Sound > Set *both the alert tone and vibration* to None (they are separate settings.) The view from the Invitations form is a little misleading - the Notification sound will say "None" even if there is a vibration setting other than None.
Not sure when this changed but it was making me a LITTLE CRAZY.

Increasing strength and time of vibration notifications

Help!! I used to own a blackberry and am thinking of returning to it because of the flash and vibrate notifications. I never hear or feel the vibration notificaitions on the iphone 4 and there is no flash option. Is there anything I can do to increase the length and strength of the vibrations for incoming texts, emails and phones calls. Thanks. Is apple planning to add software to address this in the near future?

There is no way to increase the length and strength of the vibrations.

Alert Notification Profile - Period

Hi Experts,
We are trying to send email alert notification to Notification Users(User/email id maintained in Notification profile) periodic.
We maintained Recipient type as Channel, Message channel, Message Profile and set periodic indicator and Start date as current date and Period as :30 (for 30 mins) and set profile as active.
After this notification settings for the selection has been defined for Alert type 7130 only.
When the 7130 alert is raised, through some other profile an immediate email notification is send and when I run /SCMB/ANOTPULL program, its again generating, all alerts created for that partiular invoice in a consolidated email.
I only wanted to display the alert for that Invoice which are valid for that period (Not all history).
For PO changes, how alert works, because even if i specify 7052, its not getting picked up by /SCMB/ANOTPULL program
Please give me some reference how this works.. Appreciate your reply... thanks

In the Alert Notification Profile, there are fileds Minimum Age [hh:mm] and Maximum Age[hh:mm]
These fields restrict the selection of alerts........

The fields Period and start date are basically from when it should start processing and for how long it should access the database to read the alerts
Regarding 7052 alert, did you define alert notification profile for the same?
While running the pull report /SCMB/ANOTPULL, does the selection application and alert notification profile are same as wat you defined for alert 7052 and message profile???
When the 7130 alert is raised, through some other profile an immediate email notification is send!!1
Check whether any event management profile is active for the same??

Notifications Profile Issue

Hi,
I wounder if someone can help me. I updated my Z10 to 10.3.1.1565, since the time it got updated i am facing some issues. The battery drains very fast and i have a problem with the notifications. The Notification profile changes automatically. If i set the profile to Viberate Only or Silent or any other profile for that matter, it would automatically change to Normal. I have mostly noticed it when i get off call and restart my device. Im sure its something wrong about the new update.
Has anyone noticed this issue? Please help me resolve this issue.

BB has released 3 updates in the last couple of weeks, so I recommend you update to the very most recent, and do so via AutoLoader. Otherwise, fall back (also via AutoLoader) to the version that was functional for you (and be sure to turn OFF automatic updates).

New notification profiles? User defined notificaiton profiles?

Is there a way to create a new notification profile? In older BB, I could setup a "Loud" profile that was extra loud, but in the OS10, i can't create a new profile at all. Note I am on OS 10.1.

Notifications Profiles Functinality issue in BlackBerry Z10 OS Version 10.3.1.1565

Hi,
Recently, my BB Z10 phone has been upgraded to new OS Version 10.3.1.1565 which has many features.
I am currently facing one Notification feature issue in this version -
In the "Notifications",
if I activate the Profile "Normal" for the first time without restart,
then it will work fine as per the settings like incoming call sound or media volume sound.
After this profile, next time, if i change the profile to "Phone Call only",
then it will not give any sound for incoming calls or media volume sound.
It will be like "Silent" Mode option.
And, if I restart the phone, then it will work fine as per the Notification Profile "Phone Call Only"
Until that, it will not give any sound for Media like music, vedios, or incoming calls after change of Notification Profile.
This is one of the functionality issue in the Notifications Profiles.
Please help to suggest anything on this.

Very slow profile customization

When I ran 8.1.7 version sqlj to compile my sqlj files, I found it was very slow in profile customization. It was about 10 times slow than 8.1.6 sqlj compiler. Anyone knows why?

I did use -ser2class flag. But the entire command is the exactly same as the one when I used the 8.1.6 compiler. The 8.1.6 compiler needed about 25 seconds and the 8.1.7 one needs about 280 seconds. The only things I changed were that I upgraded my 8.1.6 client to 8.1.7 client by only using 8.1.7 classes12.zip, ocijdbc8.dll, and Oracle/Ora81/sqlj/*. The rest of the client is still 8.1.6 without change. I use NT 4.0 and JDK 1.3.0_02.
The application I am working on uses object types that are translated into sqlj and java files. The sqlj compiler is used to translate and compile all sqlj files into java classes. They are my persistence layer in my application.

Sound or Notification Profiles

I've now been an iPhone user since the 3g and overall, am very happy and a big supporter of the iPhone and Apple in general.
That being said, come on Apple! Give us the basic functionaility that every BB user loved and most WM users grew accustomed to through 3rd party applications; the ability to schedule sound changes based on various schedules or activities.
This is basic stuff, very basic stuff that has been available on other platforms for years; years!
I want my VERY smart iPhone to automatically switch to vibrate when it sees I am in a meeting on my calendar. I want it to switch back to my regular sound setting when I am not in my meeting. I want it to recognize I am at home either by GPS or by the SSID on my wifi router and turn off work email notifications and turn down the ringer to half volume. I want it to turn the ringer down as low as possible and turn off all other notifications between 10pm and 5am.
Iphone developers, I call out to you for assistance. In a moment of weakness today, I almost considered switching back to WM so I could run PA from a little one guy developer in the UK that will remain nameless in hopes you will not remove my post. Please, please, please, give us the ability to have notifcation profiles with scheduling or event triggers. Please!
If anyone is aware of a good resolution that does not involve JB my iPhone, please reply.

How can I turn off the vibration notifications when the battery is full and the phone is left on charger i.e. overnight

I charge my 5s phone at night, and about halfway through the night my phone starts to vibrate to notify me that it is done charging which is great but it constantly wakes me up as it goes on all night. is there a setting I am missing to turn this off? my wife's 5s does not do this nor does my son's

The iPhone does not vibrate when it is done charging, it simply stops charging.
Whatever is happening is not due to charging. Its either due to messages, calls, notifications or emails being received.
You can set the Do Not Disturb to stop ringings and vibrations from these types of events from activating during a specified period of time.

Looking for Some Examples / Best Practices on User Profile Customization in RDS 2012 R2

We're currently running RDS on Windows 2008 R2. We're controlling user's Desktops largely with Group Policy. We're using Folder Redirection to configure their Start Menus as well.
We've installed a Server 2012 R2 RDS box and all the applications that users will need. Should we follow the same customization steps for 2012 R2 that we used in 2012 R2? I would love to see some articles on someone who has customized a user profile/Desktop
in 2012 R2 to see what's possible.

You need to check how the notifications are getting created. Please download the workflow from instance and check the logic of the notification creation. That should give ideas on customizations involved.

Notifications Profile changes after a phone call

I have created a custom profile and set my notifications to this profile but After either an incoming or outgoing phone call the profile switches back to 'Normal'... why is this happening?

How are you ending the call? You can end a call two ways, one is to hit the End Call button on the screen when you take the phone away from your ear, the other is pressing the top of the phone.
