Vibrating when receiving Facebook messages

Whenever I receive a message from messenger on Facebook my phone vibrates.  I have it set to "never" vibrate.  How do I get it to stop when I receive messages from Facebook?

open facebook app, click the menu on the top left, go all the way down to account, then click on app settings.  THERE you turn off the vibrate on every freaking message.   annoying!

  • Why doesn't my iPhone 3G vibrate when receiving a Message?

but i just get a vibration on an incoming call but not on a message
i already restored my iphones firmware but still same issue
please help (excuse mistake in my english please)
    thanks

I never drain my battery 100% unless I have no other choice. Such a deep battery discharge is not good for the battery and should not be done often.
No, the phone cannot "drain the battery 100%,"  The shutdown cutoff is way above battery depletion and is designed not to damage the battery when done occasionally (though doing so repetitively over a long period may shorten battery life span).
Draining the battery to cut off keeps the meter calibrated and Apple recommends doing so monthly.  Also, a small memory effect has recently been documented for Li-ion batteries and this will help prevent it.

  • Why does my 3G iPhone no longer rings nor vibrates when receiving calls and text messages?

Why does my 3G iPhone no longer rings nor vibrates when receiving calls and text messages?
During a two weeks process, little by little I notice my phoe doesn't ring when I get a phone call.  So Far I have missed 22 calls that I am aware of.  Moreover, the phone does not alert me when I get a text message.  Sometimes I receive notice the next day that I received a call or a text message.

Follow the basic troubleshooting steps outlined in the user guide... reset, restore from backup, restore as new.

I just got a new Iphone5s today and my ringtone will not work. The phone just vibrates when receiving calls. How can I get my ringtone to work?

In addition, the most basic troubleshooting is to restart/reset/restore.

  • How to turn off vibration when receiving imessages when app is open...

When I had my 4s, whenever I received an imessage when the app wasn't actively open, it would vibrate to alert me of the message.  When I opened the app to read my messages and I'm having a text conversation, the phone no longer vibrated for incoming texts while the app was actively open.  I liked this feature as the phone wouldn't be constantly shaking for each and every line of text I receive.  I now own the 5s and notice that the phone vibrates for every message, even when the app is open.  How do I set the phone up so it behaves just like when I had the 4s?  I don't want the phone to vibrate at all when the app is open, only when it is running in the background and I'm receiving a new, unread message.

Guys, I have exactly the same problem with my 5s. I would say it is a software glitch in all 5s firmwares. I have 7.0.6 and still the problem is there. I don't know about newest 7.1, I will eventually try install it. This really makes me crazy because when I chat and have the app open it vibrates with every new message and it is a shock for me every time Very annoyinh indeed. We should  report this bug to Apple. My wife has 4s and it works perfect for her - no vibrations when app is open... So it's definitelly a bug...

  • I can no longer receive Facebook messages in the notification center after upgrading to Mavericks

Hi everibody! As in the heading, i can no longer receive Fb messages in the notification center, but i can still receive push notifications for facebook likes and comments. Is someone able to fix this issue?

The problem has been solved with the help of a MobileMe online counsellor. My MobileMe account had in fact been hacked into and the fraudster had been redirecting my e-mail messages to a phony account that he controlled. We took the forward off and reset all my passwords and security questions, which solved the immediate problem.
    Thx.

  • Issue when receiving SOAP message with HTTPS on non-central adapter engine

    Hi,
we have a central XI system (PI 7.1 EHP1 SP03) and a non-central adapter engine (XI 3.0) in the DMZ, both systems on HP-UX.
In the affected configuration scenario, a business partner is sending us IDocs (INVOIC.INVOIC01) over HTTPS with Certificate Authentication and without SOAP Envelope.
The configuration and security settings seem to be correct, because we've already received several messages successfully over this connection. Now, since several weeks no message arrives anymore in our system, while the business partner always gets a HTTP_OK_200 response. So the messages seem to be accepted by our system, but nothing is shown, neither in the MessageMonitoring or CommunicationChannelMonitoring of the Runtime Workbench, nor in the in the traces/logs of the NetweaverAdministrator (trace level = DEBUG for "com.sap.aii.adapter.soap").
I also removed the assigned user in the sender agreement which should cause a HTTP_500_error on sender side, but our business partner still got a "OK_200" notification and we didn't find any information in the trace of our system.
When using TCPGateway to trace the communication, I can see an arriving message and the response, but it's encrypted because of HTTPS.
    1) Did anyone have similiar issues yet?
    2) Are there any further possibilities to check if an incoming message at the SOAP adapter fails?
    3) Which further trace settings can be done, to get most detailed informations about the soap traffic?
    4) Is there a way to decrypt the message of the TCPGateway (e.g. with private key of server)?
I'm looking forward for any helpful hints or information!
    Regards,
    Juergen

  • Stop phone vibrating when receiving emails in silent mode

    Hi,
I have an iphone 4 and the iOS5 update.
I mainly have my phone switched to silent mode which is fine for receiving texts and calls as I prefer it to vibrate, but how can I stop it vibrating every time I receive an email without disabling silent mode?
    Thanks

If I remember correctly, Apple has been experimenting with the vibrate-for-emails feature in the iOS 5 betas. The phone would vibrate for new email message on one beta and they'd drop it again for the next. Seems like it has made its way to the final iOS 5 and thus you won't be able to disable it selectively. One alternative, though not really a good solution, is to check for new mail manually and not have the phone do that for you on an intervall or via push.
    Sebastian.

  • Turn off vibration when receiving a text

    Hello,
How do I turn off any vibration when receieving an SMS text message?
I tried to do this by going to:
Messaging App -> Settings -> Uncheck "Notification Vibration"
This made the vibration sound be softer, but it still has a vibration sound.
How can I turn this off completely please?
    Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
You can either hold the ON/OFF button down for 2-3 seconds and you should find three options in the bottom of this list (silent, only vibration or sound) or you can hold the volume down(-) button to the lowest and it will go to vibration mode, press the button once again to make the phone silent.

  • Multiple vibrations when receiving a text message

I recently switched from a Motorola phone to an iPhone 3GS and it seems that the iPhone only vibrates 1 time when I receive a text message. I don't often feel the phone vibrate in these instances. Is there a way to change the settings on the phone so it will vibrate multiple times when I receive a text?

You can't change the setting. However, if you don't open the text it will vibrate again a few minutes later.

  • HT201436 No notification on my iPhone 4 when received text messages

No notification on my iPhone 4 when text messages received.

It is happening anywhere, no particular location. I am located in Wiscasset, Maine. I power cycle my phone at night time. I'm using the normal iPhone messaging app, nothing extra or special. And yes I can call the same numbers. My friends will just get my messages from them that they already got or never received, 2-3 days after I sent them, no matter where I am or where they are. They come from different carriers or the same carrier and different types of phone or some have the iPhone. It seems to be extremely random. Very frustrating.

  • Mail hangs when receiving new messages on .Mac

I'm using the latest mail and Tiger, but have had this issue for a few point updates.
I have a .Mac e-mail account, and can send messages with no problem. When Mail tries to receive a new, unread message, however, it hangs - the Activity window reads "Fetching New Mail" and even shows the subject header, but goes no farther. If I try to do anything else after this, such as changing folders or sending mail, everything hangs. Mail won't quit, either, so I have to force quit.
I've tried deleting the .plist file, moving the Mail folder, moving the Envelope Index. I have no third-party extras installed.
    Help?
    PowerBook G4 12" DVI   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

I have exactly the same problem. I have two laptops, one running OS 10.6.2 and the other a G4 Powerbook running !0.5.8. On the Snow Leopard machine the iMap accounts (x4) are working fine, but hotmail mail and one Pop3 account both behave the same way - hanging indefinitely exactly half way through completion of the download of a couple of dozen emails, with download speed dropping to 0k. It has not been possible to download anything from either account now since November 6th. I have to check the mail on these two accounts via a web interface. The only solutions I have heard so far seem quite hit and miss. I am not particularly keen to do anything so radical as back up, reformat the hard drive, and re-instal the System / buy a new computer, or any of those other drastic fix-all-solutions sometims proposed when people cannot guess what is wrong. An informed work around would be very much appreciated.
