Vibration stopped working

Hi all,
yesterday the vibration finction on my iPhone 3G stopped working. It won't engage via the settings menu or the silence switch. I tried a reboot and full clean restore to no avail. The device itself never exhibited any problems whatsoever and it has never been dropped - vibration just stopped working.
Has anyone else experienced this? What are my options now since the phone is 15 months old?

When you did the restore to your iPhone did you set it up as a new phone or did you restore from backup? if you set it up as new it could possibly be a hardware issue with the phone itself. If you restored from a previous backup you can try restoring again and setting up the iPhone as new. As far as your warranty goes, since you are at 15 months of owning it, did you purchase the Applecare Protection Plan? If so you should be covered by warranty and have it looked at by a Apple Store or can call Apple's technical support for the iPhone at 1-800-694-7466.

Smartwatch 2 vibration stopped working

Hello,
suddnly today my smartwatch 2 vibration stopped working.
I tried to turn it on and off in the smartwatch settings with no success.
Tried also to reset it via the smartwatch settings...
It does not vibrate anymore. (even when I turn the smartwatch on or off).
Please advise.

Inside any device that has the ability to vibrate is a small motor with a half circle metal weight - So if it has stopped vibrating then this is probably a hardware fault either the motor has stopped working or communication to the motor has failed so your only option would be to take it back to the place of purchase or visit a Sony service centre

My c6-01 vibration stopped work

like the "subject" says my c6-01 vibration stopped working although it's new i brought it 2 days ago (26-07-2011) it was working perfectly with no problems and suddenly the vibration stopped working
it didn't fall and it didn't Exposure to anything . . . . . . .
so please help . . . . . . . . .

DId you try restarting the phone and also changing the profile to general and then silent ??

N97 mini - vibration stopped working!

i need help ,
since friday the vibration of my n97 mini stopped working !
its really wierd , not vibrating anymore when i touch the screen and when i receivce calls
sometimes it works for a min but then stops again.
i know i shuold take it to a lab but im looking for a way to try and solve this myself.
in teh settings everything is fine and in order.

try the following
NOTE: In front of the hash key ( #) there is also a STAR key that people often miss and state that the code does not work.
1.. *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data) Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list. The default code for ALL operations listed here is 12345.
2.*#7370# - Reformat your phone (out of the box, tho keep in mind that most newer nokia phones at least n series, e series and s60 based phones have udp - user data preservation so not ALL data may be lost. still it is a good idea to always do a back up of your stuff.)3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working.If the phone is not showing any activity, proceed with hard formatting , turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
3. hard reset - hold the following buttons * (star key), 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons ( for Nokia 5800XM - use the following buttons to do a hard reset, /GREEN/RED/CAMERA keys pressed all at once on power up. this will only work on 5800's that have firmware version 20... and up. ) For Nokia N97 (unofficial version but works) is SHIFT /SPACE BAR / BACKSPACE while holding the power button. Again do not let go until you see the handshake screen.
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service for assistance.

3g | 8gb | uk - Vibration stopped working

Hello all.
first i shall give my details of the phone:
iPhone 8gb > 3G > on O2 (UK) i bought it in late september. its is as factory so not jailbroke, only addition is a few apps from itunes from factory and some custom ringtones i made.
recently at work i have been putting my phone onto silent via the rocker switch as it's not a good look to have a song blaring out when dealing with the public on duty.
anyways, the vibrate feature has broken, it worked, im sure before the latest update, i had totally forgot about it not working until a few days back when i had a heap of SMS messages and voice mails and missed calls, all cause it didn't vibrate.
it seems a little strange how it works one moment not the next.
before we suggest settings and buttons, every thing is set so it should vibe on silent mode as well as standard.
i even tried a reset of settings (not erasing data) and restarting via the home and power buttons. all to no remedy.
can anyone help?

Ur contacts are saved to your Address Book whenever you sync ur iPhone with iTunes... so yes, u could get them back...
I see in ur last post that u mention that after the resets, the phone still doesn't vibrate, I'm afraid it's a hardware issue and yes ur only choice is to take it to be checked and possibly replaced.
Once u get ur iPhone repaired or replaced, plug it and sync with iTunes and u'll get all ur contacts back...

Use the side controls and make sure your phone isn't on vibrate. Up for ringer.

IPhone 4S vibrate not working but...

Okay so a day ago my vibrate stopped working I'm still in warranty and apparently I can get it replaced for free. The thing is... My phone is shattered on the front and half on back. On the front glass fell out along with home button. This was over a month ago... Vibrate still worked til a day ago. Would apple still replace for free? I mean... Everything works but vibrate and it's really annoying. :\ please help!!!

No it would not be replaced for free. Applecare Protection PLUS program (which can only be purchased in your first 30 days of buying your iphone) does cover accidental damage, but its still not a free replacement. (I believe) its $49 then but I dont have my data infront of me to say for sure.
In general, repairs for a 4s run about $199.

HT201401 Vibrate function stopped working! Help!!

I have the iphone 3gs and i woke up one morning and it was laying on my bed and it fell of hit the carpet and seemed fine but then vibrate function stopped working now i have seen that giving it a 'whack or a knock' may put it back in place but it hasnt any suggestions as to what i could do or if i was to get it fixed what would need fixing and how much would it cost thanks?!

ATtempt to power off your device and power it back on, if that doesn't work reset all settings should resolve it for you

I just tested my phone, and vibrate is working fine for me after the update.
Try this:
1. Go to Settings > Sounds
2. Turn Vibrate off in both places (under both Silent and Ring)
3. Turn Vibrate on under Silent
You should feel the phone vibrate when you turn the toggle to "On"
If that works okay, continue with the following:
4. Press the Home button (leave the vibrate settings as they are)
5. Set the Silent switch (on the side of the phone above the volume rocker button) to on (orange dot showing)
6. Call your iPhone from another phone
If that works, good.
If these things don't work, this is a serious bug. I do not seeing anything posted about this since the update went up a couple days ago. Go to your Apple store or call Apple tech support at 1-800-MY-iPHONE

Why do my midi instruments stop working after 1-2 minutes?

So I've been toying around with Garageband 11 on my MBP base 13 with upgraded memory. I am able to get a couple of midi instruments to connect and to sound and record through the program, however, I'm running into an issue with two controllers in particular. I'm using an older emedia midi controller with no available drivers online (that I've seen as of yet) and a set of PS3 usb Band Hero drums. As I stated I can get them both connected and they sound great with little to no latency. What's strang is that after two minutes of use, playing through with controller, the sound cuts out. It still registers there is a device connected, but with both things you can no longer hear the instrument or record anything. I'm stumped. Anywho I thought some folks on here might have been through this or just have a wide enough understanding of the whole system as to what might be causing this issue. My hopes are it's a plugin issue or something simple I can download, but theres a chance it's just compatibility. The usb mic that I have from the band hero kit works great and I've yet to have it stop working, but this is running through a different setup switching from built in mic to the usb. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated so don't hold back!

Yes I did that but nothing happened. I removed about 6 apps that use sounds or creates ringtones to no avail. The only thing that helps, and this temporary, is hitting the mute button and off and all the sounds for all phone basics-texts, ringers, alerts ce back up. No program seems to shut it down, just time and within 3 days it reverts back to no sounds for ringers, texts, etc. I don't see any problems with speaking sounds and game sounds, yet. I have a lifetime with pc's since 1978 with my radio shack trs80 and this one befuddles me. Something is telling me there is a problem with the operating system on iOS 6 because my hours of research has proven to assure me apple phones are losing their basic sound DLL's in some template, being c++ based largely, somebody I think has a pointer getting 'stuck' and when a hard reboot can't clear the issue, my experience tells me somebody let a template get out of hand and is a serious problem. I found hundreds of similar sound problems with myriads of solutions such as resynching with iTunes, updating iOS if it hadn't been already, turning a list off toggles on and off then rebooting. For me the mute/unmute has worked temporarily and sometimes it won't even work sometimes and I have to have the phone on vibrate and keep it on my person so as to feel the ring/alerts. Being a long time proficient programmer/basic networker/basic hardware user, I don't like duct tape solutions such as toggle a switch like Fonzi smacking the jukebox to get the music to play. I always wondered why Arnold(Asian or chubby Caucasian) never got his jukebox fixed. So anybody know a non-duct tape solution or seen am apple thread describing a permanent solution please let me know?!? Thanks, Jon
