Video and audio do not line

I have a zen vision:m 60 GB. when i use the conversion program to put video on the zen the sound does not match up with the video. the sound is atleast a second behind the video, i have all the lastest downloads and every thing. what is wrong with the zen converter? does any one else have this problem and how can i fix it. i have also tried this on 3 differnet computers, i get the same results. if it cannot be fixed can you recommend a good free video converter that will work with my zen.

How can i fix a clip when the video and audio are not matching up? I imported the video from a junkdrive in a .VOB format and concerted to a .mov the videos were filmed on a miniDVD recorder.

I would try detaching the audio and the dragging the audio to the left or right until it lines up.

Thanks for the reply. This is the plan.
Open Premiere Elements 12/12.1 to the Expert workspace.
In the Expert workspace, go to File Menu/New/Project and Change Settings.
In the Change Settings area, select the project preset
NTSC
AVCHD
AVCHD LITE 720p30
OK out of there. In the New Project dialog that appears, note that it has your new project preset named.
Be sure to put a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on This Project". And, then OK out of there.
Back in the Premiere Elements 12 Expert workspace, use Add Media/Files and Folders to bring your video
into Project Assets. From Project Assets drag your video to the Timeline Video Track 1/Audio Track 1.
Is there an orange line over the content in the Timeline. See screenshot for orange line to which I am referring.
There should be no colored line over the content if the project preset matches the video properties. But, if you do see
that orange line, then render the Timeline content by pressing the Enter key of the computer main keyboard or press
the Render button above the Timeline.
Do your video/audio now play back in the Edit area monitor in sync?
Please let us know the result, and then we will decide what next.

My Video and Audio are not syncing up after importing

I am trying to edit a few Ipad Clips in premier pro. My video and audio are not syncing. They are .mov lower resolution from the ipad. The original audio is fine - but after I put in a sequence the audio is off a few seconds (ahead). I did not add any affects or change anything. Please advise?

Premiere does not work well with variable frame rate video which, I expect, the ipad produces, You might have to convert the footage before you import it into Premiere. Do a forum search for variable frame rate, there are a lot of posts.

Linked video and audio do not move together on timeline

Hello, I have been working in a project for a couple of days and cannot find out why the video and audio do not move together when one of them is dragged laterally on the timeline. They are linked yet do not move together. I seem to remember one of the first clips I dragged down to the timeline did what it should but they do not behave as they should. If I click on both clips the only option is unlink. When I move one part in the timeline it shows me how much they are out of sync.Any ideas?

In this case, it looks like Quicktime wasn't very efficient in managing memory, leading to a slowdown in playback. If QT has a lag and VLC doesn't, that's more evidence.
I couldn't say why your friend's windows computer plays the media fine, while your Mac doesn't. The only thing I could suggest is to disable QT streaming video - which has been known to slow down performance.

I have also referenced another article which is seemingly a bit easier to fix for such a non-technical woman like myself. I'm going to try both solutions. Whichever works I'll be sure to reply to the thread with my findings. FME Firewire Video and Audio Support(not from Camera)

I can't seem to find any definitive answer on weather FME can
support both video and audio from a single Firewire connection that
is coming from an analog to digital Firewire converter box. I want
to take the analog audio and video feed, convert it to a Firewire
feed (using a Canopus DV converter) and feed that into a laptop.
Seems like that should work and both audio/video would be
present...
That being said, I have found a few conflicting reports on
weather or not both the audio and video will be recognized. I also
note that others have been having issues in FME with PCI cards (no
audio when it should be there) so I'm curious if anyone has tried
Firewire (not from a camera). Will it work in FME v2.5+? If not, is
there an elegant laptop analog to digital conversion solution (that
doesn't require using the crapy mic in or line in ports)? (RCA
connectors would be preferred.)

P.S. I'm disappointed with Adobe's lack of support on this
encoder. They claim Firewire is supported but I've only found a few
3rd party sources that say 'video only' and nothing concrete at
that (even in the downloadable manual). I'm also disappointed at
Adobe's lack of e-mail support for 'pre-sale' product questions.

Video and audio clips not moving together on timeline

So every time I move my video clips in the timeline, the audio clips are not following.
I know "make a stereo pair" links up the audios, but is there any way to make the video and both the appropriate audio tracks move together?

Video and audio chat not working

Hi All,
I also have problems with iChat. I tried it before leaving home with two macs on a wireless network. Worked well. Im now overseas and the text chat works ok but both the video and audio chat fails to work. The buddy receives the telephone tone informing him that im trying to chat and once accepted the chat fails and the error message is "buddy failed to respond". Not sure what to do to get this working. Please help as it worked from room to room but not country to country???

The Log can be expanded when it pops up and the top part of the log can help us to pin point things for you.
The Logs are also stored in User(your account)/Library/Logs/iChatConnectionErrors
Error 8s refer to port and NAT issues.
The details can isolate where to some extent.
We will need to know the connection device you are using at both ends (Modems and routers) ?
How you have set them up (DHCP, Ports opened, methods used) ?
What you have done on each mac to set up iChat and the Mac for iChat

Video and Audio do not match up in Photo Booth

When I record a video in Photo Booth with my built in iSight video camera, the video and audio do no match up. The audio plays, and then about one second later, the corresponding video plays.
P.S. This has only been an issue since I updated to 10.5.2.
Please help, as I am relatively new to Mac OS.

Try the following:
• Backup your Home Folder, or at very least, your important files.
• Repair permissions. (Click here if you need help.)
• Then download and apply the Mac OS X 10.5.2 Combo Update.
• Finish with another Permissions Repair, and then check your iSight again.
Users have reported fixes to a variety of audio, video, connectivity, and software conflicts and unreliability issues after properly applying Combo Updates.

Video and Audio no longer line up

I don't know if this question would be better placed on the iDVD board but I've had a lot of luck with my questions here so I thought I'd give it a shot here first.
I'm working on a FCP Native HDV project and I spent a lot of time lining up certain spots in the video with the audio track (which is an aiff song file). Everything plays perfect in FCP. I exported as a Quicktime reference movie (the top export option) and brought the file into iDVD. After iDVD encoded the video, the audio and video are no longer quite in sync (I noticed this when previewing through iDVD and after saving as a disc image, mounting, and playing back with DVD Player). I think they start out in sync and go slightly off (the audio gets slightly, maybe a 1 or 2 frames, behind the video). I'm guessing this issue is happening in iDVD's conversion process and I was wondering if there is any way to fix this. Anyone had similar issues? Thanks everyone.

I do a lot of SONY HRD FX1 native 1080i HDV capture with Final Cut Pro 5 on my PowerBook 1.3 GHz G4..
Before Apple started supporting HDV, getting the audio and video lined up was such a nightmare that it wasn't even worth working on projects.
My material works great inside FCP 5, but I have had similar problems to what you describe when making the DVDs
However, I use DVD Studio Pro and was able to move the audio relative to the video slightly to get the most important parts to line up. However if your audio and video clips aren't the same length then you will have variable slippage for long clips.
I have been using MPEG Power Professional (Heuris Inc) to do my MPEG2 video encodes as well as my audio encodes and I haven't had the problem lately.

I just bought an Apple Composite AV Cable to use with my iPod touch 3rd gen. It will play videos and the accompanying audio through the TV with no problems, but it will not play just music. What's the deal?

No. However, you can get a cable from the headphone jack to an audio input for your TV.

Video And Audio does not have the same length

i have a problem. For DVD i am working on, i create my Movies for menus in Flash. I sync Video animation and audio in Flash, and export all in QT. Then i take my QT and export in M2V and AIFF. Then i use A.PACK to export in AC3.
But i always get a white part (around 1 sec) in the end of my movie. I cut it in QT, but then get it again after the m2v export.
Each time i get a AC3 lenght different from the video. Say the AC3 file is 24 second long, and the movie is 23:13. Of course, when i try to make a loop in DDVSP(3) my music is cut OR i have a white display before looping. What is the problem ? How can i correct this ?

Ichat video and audio is not working only with one friend

Hi there,
i used to video-chat with my best friend every other day. We both have OSX 10.5.8. Maybe 4 weeks ago suddenly we always get an errorcode when calling each other. Sometimes it says the other one doesnt anwer but he gets an error message. He and me can still video chat with all our other friends!
Only in between us it doesn't work. Both ways don't work (who ever calls). We both have an iMac 21.' with intel prozessor.
Text-chat works!!
If another friend calls both of us, we can chat the 3 of us together!
Any suggestions?

This has been an issue now and then for all versions of iChat

The most common reason is setting Port Forwarding in a router to open the ports and leaving On the DHCP Server.
This means that now and then the Computer IP may change and the Port Forwarding may require you "point It" at one IP - which the computer no longer has meaning the ports are not open.
The next is the way some devices actually Do NAT (Network address Translation).
There are 4 main ways with cross over between them as well.
This may raise it's head if you or your Buddy have updated the Firmware to your router.
I would check System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming is at 1.5Mbps at both ends.
I would double check the routing settings at both ends.
UPnP if you have it is "Better" is that it allows Multiple computers (IPs) to use the same Ports so you don't have to turn Off the DHCP Server in the router.
Thomson-Alcatel can have symptoms like this due to the way they handle SIP data.
