Video /animation with text

I am in the process of creating a newsreel video for my school. This will have no sound but will hopefully have ticker tape writing at the bottom of the video - kind of like a newsreel you might see. I dont know if this is possible but can anyone point me in the right direction to how to do this - or to a 3d party software that i can use?

You can find other suggestions by searching for 'text ticker', etc.
As Mylenium says, the built-in Autoscroll - Horizontal animation preset may be enough for your purposes.

Video shifting with text

I have text (from text generator) on V2 and a still on V1
Right at the cut point, the video shifts by a pixel or two.
I can't figure it out. I have RT settings enabled, have rendered, etc. but to no avail. It is not the image since I have swapped it out with another image and a clip of video as well....same thing happens. There is no motion on either the clip or the text just a simple V2 over V1. Can anyone help?

Seriously though, this problem first started appearing with FCP 4. It doesn't happen all the time, but often enough to be a problem. I found the filter trick to be an effective workaround and have been applying a filter to ALL still images ever since.
FWIW it doesn't have to be the 3-Way Color Corrector ... any filter (at default or customized settings) will do. I decided to just add the 3-Way CC filter by default since most photos could use a bit of tweaking anyway - plus, its a RT filter making quick previewing possible.

Yes, you may add objects like Smart shapes, Captions and match their timing to appear along with the video.
Have you inserted a Multi Slide or Event vidoe in your project, for this particular, I would have opted for Multi Slide video, this way, I could have observed the video timing from play bar and would have added values accordingly.

Put the fill video on top of the background video. Put the ttext on top of that. In the video tab of the text select composite mode>stencil alpha. Select the text and the fill video and convert them into a compound clip.

FlashLite 2.x - Embed Video and sync animation with it!

I have been using Flash since many years and recently started FlashLite development. In Flash we can embed a video on timeline and similarly we could sync our onscreen animations and text with video on timeline. Can somebody please confirm to me if same is possible with FlashLite 2.1 ?

Ok guys....an update to this thread....
I learned a few basics about embedding video in FlashLite from this link and was able to run a video in FlashLite 2.x - AS2 in device central. But I am not sure how do I sync my text and animations with the video as we would do in Flash. In FlashLite, video is not placed over the timeline, instead we have to use the Video class which has its own component with few methods to stop, pause, play etc.
Need your help please!

When i export from lightroom slideshow and choose the 1920x1080 resolution the end product is a very small video in the middle of a black background. i have double checked and do not have any borders turned on. Another option would be to export from the library but lr mogrify does not seem to put text overlays on video either. Any input would be welcome.

Enhanced Video podcast with chapters..can we change the color of the text? Yo know when yo make a marker and then name it and put in the url name an then the url. Well it looks great on GB but when it is exported it is always blue and you cant see it very well. Am I a silly boy or is there some way we can change that color?

Sorry, but your post seemed to initially infer you were just referring to a Button you would insert on a page. At least that's what I understood when I posted with what I did.
Now it would seem you are referring to the Playback Controls that Captivate supplies? So either I grossly misunderstood your initial issue or you are now switching gears and asking about something different.
What I posted earlier does not apply to the Captivate Playback Controls.

Spherical Video / Animation - Need help with a unique problem

Hi, could anyone help me which direction should I go with this issue:
I have a video / animation which is 2 unit long, 1 unit high. I would like to wrap it around a virtual sphere to create a video in which the viewer is able to decide which way to look. The same idea as behind Quick Time Spherical Panorama Photos - but this time it is a moving image. Any Quick Time Panorama Photos have the same 2:1 ration when extended flat, you wrap it around with a panorama software, and then you can "enter" it with quick time.
One or two software already exists which do the job with moving images (360 Spherical Video Viewer 4.02) but either they cannot deal with large files or belong to a company who would not give out their software without buying their whole system with cameras.
I need to solve this, but in such a way that:
1) the extended flat movie animation is large in terms of pixel dimension (around 6000*3000 pixel or 4000*2000) but short in time (4-8minutes) It is necessary to have such a large file because we always see a small part of the whole, and the visible part should be close to HD
2) should be on a loop
3) the mouse pointer is invisible even when we navigate inside the animation
4) full screen
Question: which program(s) will be able to solve (part of) this? Flash? Or a 3d program? Or the combination? Any further advice what to use in the given program? Any idea will be appreciated! Thank you!!

I think you're probably in the wrong forum. The only Apple product I can think of that might be able to help you with this is Quartz Composer. You can wrap video onto a user-controlled sphere pretty easily (and much more besides). You may face performance issues with such a large video, however, and you'll need to experiment with codecs to balance data rate with decoding speed.
Quartz Composer is free and is part of the Developer Tools, freely downloadable from Apple and possibly on your system installation discs in the Options folder.

For Instagram you can try and uninstall and reinstall the app and see if that fixes it. But if not you can try and resetting all settings, Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings.

Typing Text animation with Noise and A Bit Of Randomness

Hi, I've used this nice tutorial to animate text typing, but it doesn't show how the sond and timing randomness is set like here and I like the way the rendering of the letters is delayed a bit and the cursor too ! Does anyone know how this is setup ? I didn't find anything corresponding in the properties.

Try using the Word Processor animation preset. You'll find it under Animation Presets>Text>MultiLIne.
Just add an extra character at the end of your text. It doesn't matter what it is. Then press UU to reveal all of the animators. Go the the last keyframe for Type On and adjust the Type On slider to a value that's one less than the total number of characters in your text string. You can watch this happen.
That's about it. Just make sure that you are using a font that has an Underscore. You can set the symbol you're using for the Cursor by adjusting the Character Value in the text animators. 127 is the | and 95 is the _
This is a very common effect and several ways to achieve it are found by simply doing a Google search for After Effects blinking cursor.

New to After Effects - need help with text manipulation!

Hi all, I'm new to AE and this forum and I'm looking for some advice. I've been asked by the boss at work to create a short video clip, around 10-15 seconds, where text is displayed on the screen (3 words), after the few seconds, I want a 'forging' noise to happen and the final word in the text to be changed to another word and have a metallic effect applied, similar to the effect in this tutorial:

Will this be difficult to do and do you guys think a complete beginner like myself can do it? I've got a lot of experience with the likes of PS, so I'm not too shy with Adobe software.

As you begin your career of using AE, you will change your vocabulary. Overlay will be replaced with spatial references like in front or behind.
Designing text with surface styles like chrome or metal is not difficult. You can even import them from Photoshop if you have some PS chops or friends who can do it quickly.
TEXT ONE can be easily replaced with TEXT TWO in any of dozens of different ways but to drop TWO in front of ONE is easy, you're just setting position keyframes. The finesse of animation, though, lies in the illusion of motion, exaggeration, overshooting and recoil. Your TWO could fall and squish and rebound and bounce or it could raise a dust cloud as it hits or it could make the camera wiggle. These are the things that separate simple key framing from animation and motion graphics.

I have PremierePro-CS5 installed.
This stereo 3D camcorder (Sony HDR-TD10E), output an .MVC (MultiViewCoding) file, coded in H.264 format.
This format is already compatible with Bluray3D stereoscopic format.
1) But, how to edit the .MVC in Premiere?
2) What plugin should I use (if exists) for PremiereProCS5?
3) Cineform Neo3D, can manage the .MVC format? Can convert it to Cineform format file, for import it into Premiere?
4) What software should I use to convert an .MVC video to an AVCHD H.264 file, and import it into PremierePro CS5 or CS5.5 for editing?

I want to create an external video widget with iAd. I followed the steps and copied the Url and paste it in the Video pop-up menu in the Properties section of the inspector. When i select 'preview' the video doesn't play and the Url that i pasted is gone.

May have something to do with whether or not the URL can be reached while building your widget. I've got a video on the web. When I enter the URL into the field for the video object and click to another field, the URL is replaced with some text indicating that it is accessing the video then updates itself to displaying just the name of the video file.
It shows just fine in preview and I can see the full path to the video when I export the widget so it should work for you.
Is the video accessible from your Mac while you're laying out your widget?

Photoshop CC 2014 3D positioning in video animation timeline

I'm a mac user and experimenting with the 3D and video timeline features. All I am trying to do is make a small custom shaped logo spin in place although it starts to spin around an axis that is off camera. My instructor at school did the exact same process that I've been doing on her computer, and it worked flawlessly which leads me to believe there is a snap, pin, or setting that my computer has turned on/off. I have found the 'Edit Pins' option in the View tab but I have not been able to select it as it is grayed out. Is that where the answer to my problem is? If not then where? The object that i am trying to rotate in this situation will move from the origin point whenever i try to apply a transformation of any kind, such as rotating, scaling, and moving.
There is a similar problem that i have found on this forum, Photoshop CC 2014: 3D Scene Position Missing - Video Animation Timeline is the title of it although it has not been answered. This question was posted about the same time of my problems started as well. After a good amount of hours I haven't found anything close to an answer.

I don't do 3D animations, but Seb Zaremba said it worked in the former Photoshop CC. You can have both version installed on your computer. Go to the Creative Cloud app and Apps>Filter & version>previous versions. There you will find the installer for CC (2013). Give it a try.
Also, you might consider reporting a bug over at feedback.photoshop.com
