Video App Crash

Not sure if anyone else has had this issue yet. Not very technical but still an annoyance.
Basically, I downloaded a movie onto my iPad, the movie freezes about 30 minutes in. Try to get the movie running again (Hoping it was just a small freeze) by trying to select different chapters in the movie, but still nothing. Hit the Main button on the iPad, returned to the Home Screen, tried going back in but now the Videos Tab won't even let me get out of the movie and delete it so I can re-download and install. All I get is a black screen with the time and battery power at the top of the screen.
Not really that much of a Technical Question, but if someone could please help (Preferably with a resolution that does not require connecting to my iTunes on my computer), that would be great. Been trying to fix this for an hour now and have had no luck.
Thanks in advance.

use the search ipad function, it will let you back into the movie, but it will keep freezing, I have had this same problem with all 3 ipad generation and nobody has ever investigated this issue, and somebody should.

  • Apple video app crashes when you delete a tv program

Every time on all my iPads and iPhones iso7 video app crashes when I delete tv program's or movies.

By "Main Website" I assume you mean via the developer's site.   If this is so, your purchase would need to be taken up directly with the developer.   With good will you may get a refund if the developer can be sure you'd also bought it from the App Store.
But you say also "with the same ID" ... and you would not need an ID to purchase from the developer.
A deleted purchase from the App Store can be reinstalled free so you should check your App Sore receipts to see if you have two (which I doubt).

  • IPhone iOS 7 - Video app crashes/exits

Hi, on an IPhone 5S, running iOS 7.0.2, my 'Videos' app crashes and exits when I delete a movie. When I go back into the app the video has indeed deleted but the crash/exit is a hassle. Any fix for this at all?  Thanks!

What is needed here is a little perspective:

Hmmmm... Let me try to make it clear for you.
    1. There is a problem, many of us have it.
    3. Apple has NOT yet released a fix. The problem has been there since IOS 7.0. We are currently at 7.02.
Therefore, Apple is in fact ignoring it, and I really wish they did not.
You may think that "many" of you have this problem, but I doubt seriously that it comes close to the number of people that are reporting problem with Wifi, Messaging, and the ability to actually see what is on their phones or iPads. So, in the scheme of things, this is an annoyance, at best.
Releases that have come out up to this point are addressing critical problems.
    2. Apple is NOT acknowledging it, there is no thread where they admit this problem exists.
    4. There is no announcement of an update, nor is there any sign that this issue is being fixed or discussed or tackled by Apple in any way. So it has not been "fixed in an update".
Therefore, Apple is in fact ignoring it, and I really wish they did not.
At what point in the entire life of iPhones and iOS have you seen a "thread" from Apple discussing issues that they are working on to fix?
At what point in the entire life of iPhones and iOS have you seen an "announcement" of a versioned update?
Why would the lack of either make you draw the conclusion that Apple is "ignoring" it.
You really need to get a grip. Take a look at the longest threads on this site, and you will see where the "real" issues are.

  • Video app Crashes on Itouch 3g and 4g with 4.3.3

I have abot 1100 music videos, when i transfer the videos to the ipods, video app crashes, and music app is too slow.
Note the my 3g ipod on fw 3.1.3 doesn't had that problem until i upgraded to 4.3.3 so I asume the problem is with the firmware
If i sort the videos as TV Shows both, music and video apps work fine, but that don't do to me becasue i can arrange tv shows in playlists in the ipod.

I have been having the same issue.  However, I also have the PayPal version, the blue triangle, just in case... I might delete the app, then reinstall it just to see if that works.

  • Videos app crashes when I try to watch a tv show? Any ideas?

Hi, since upgrading to iOS5 I haven't been able to watch TV shows on the video app on my iPad 2. Up until today I've had diagnostics turned off but just turned them on and found the following diagnostic report which will now hopefully go to Apple so they can finally fix this annoying bug! I'm thinking about getting an appointment at a genius bar but not sure if it will just be a waste of time as I've restored my iPad (complete waste of time) and tried everything I can think of....anyway, the error report reads:

Can anyone help? Does anyone else have this problem? Am I wasting my time going to an Apple store to see if this can be resolved quickly?
Any help/tips/guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mark

    More details:
App also crashes when I try to select a genius playlist (though I never use this feature, so not sure if that's new). But I can create on-the-go playlists and play all songs off the iPhone that way if I wanted to.
When I launch the iPod app, it shows the "songs" selection screen by default, even though at the bottom, the "albums" tab is selected.
When I reclick "albums" it changes the screen to sort by album. If I had clicked the "songs" apon launching the iPod app, the screen wouldn't change, but the tab would now move over to highlight "songs".
Hoping it's just a synch mixup but still searching for a solution...

  • Video app crashing & Can't load videos to Ipod Touch 5.1.1

My video app on my IPod touch (4th Gen 64GB) with 5.1.1 keeps on crashing.  I read that this is not an uncommon problem.  I click on the video app and a white screen shows up for a second, then the app crashes and reverts back to the home screen.  This is the only app that is not working.
I have tried the following so far:
Reboot by using the red slider button
Reboot by holding the home and off button for 10sec.  Apple logo appears and it reboots
Shut down the video app after double clicking the home button and deleting the open apps
I even did a complete "Reset all Setting" and then used my ITunes back up to load all the data back on.
I tried to delete all movies on ITunes and load a new one. - won't show up when I search for the video on the IPod
I tired to down load a movie from ICloud - won't show up when I search for the video on the IPod after the download
In ITunes the videos that I try to load to the IPod show up on the right menu bar under movies, but they are grayed out.
The one thing I have not tried for obvious reason is the complete wipe and start from scratch by doing the reset from ITunes and loading all apps and setting to the IPod all over again.  I was hoping to avoid that pain...
Now, I don't use the Video app much, and could potential wait for OS 6 that is supposed to come out in the fall.  That might load a new video app.  Unfortunately, I can't delete the video app as it is part of the original set up.
Any tips?  What will I lose with a compete wipe and how long will that take?
    Thanks for your help

I tried the restore from backup and it did not work.  I think I'll just wait until iOS6 and watch movies on my IPad.  Don't want to do the factory restore if possible.
    Any other tips are welcome!

  • Why does my Ipod touch Music/Video apps crash after update to OS4

Updated Ipod touch (64GB) yesterday to OS4. Today I cant run the Music or the Video apps. They will LOAD, but after 3 seconds, the crash. Any ideas?
Ive tried to do the reboot thing (DFU??) that I saw in another post but same issue.
Tried a search several times but have not seen any posts so far with this particular issue.

I'm having the same issue as well, I'm currently at work so as of right now I can't try to restore mine, but the strange thing with mine is that I updated mine the day the iOS 4.0 came out and had no problems until last night. Now the music and video sections keep crashing after just a few seconds. Also all my Podcast are gone, the only things missing and I even re-downloaded them last night and they're still gone.

  • Ipad Videos app crashes

The videos app that comes with the iPad 2 crashes immediately whenever I try opening it. I restarted the iPad but still crashes. I did a reset but it still crashes. I just bought this 10 days ago. Can I take it back and get a new one?

Joe, had the same problem on my iPad 3.  I figured out that I only had 1.2 Gig left out of 64 Gig (I had a bunch of other movies loaded).  I opened up 5 Gigs and it is working great now.   What I noticed was as the streaming movie buffered, the skipping would get worse.  That seems to made sense because the more it buffers, the more storage would be used.  It also seems to have a more noticeable with HD movies. I guess that would be because they are so much larger.  Give it a check and see if that is your problem.

I turn on the Home Sharing in iTunes 10.5. (on a iMac running Lion) open the iPod app on iPhone4 or/and iPad2 (both running iOS5) acces the Home Sharing library - and then 2 seconds later the app crashes.
Well I've tried a Reset to Factory Settings, install iOS as a new device, turned off firewall, reset wifi-rooter and modem, deleted itunes username/passw - typed it back in again... well still no Home Sharing here...
    Anyone with some goor suggestions?
    Please..?
All the best from Denmark :-)

Same here... Music app crashes 2-3 seconds after trying to connect to the Home Sharing library on both the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 (both iOS 5.0.1). I've checked everything... settings on both devices, settings on iMac, router, open ports, firewall... all fine.
The same iPad 2 when on iOS 4.3.3 works just fine, same was ok for iPhone 4 on 4.3.3.
Any thoughts / ideas / solutions anyone?

  • IPad Video App crashing

I just sync'd the movies in my itunes with the ipad and now whenever I tried to open the movies app, the screen will go black as if trying to load the app and then drop back to the home screen after a couple of seconds. I removed all videos and tried it again with the same result. It appears that the app has become completely broken.
    Anyone else have this happen?

fixed without a restore... but dont know exactly how.
    what was done
    1) i had removed all music/videos/podcasts so nothing showed up in ipod application - still crashes every time (had done several device restarts to see if helped already)
    2) i opened up the video application and that was ok - did not crash but of course nothing there
    3) i downloaded a free podcast video on the ipad
    4) opened the video in the video application - not the ipod
    5) tried opening the ipod app and it worked - i could see my one file and play from there too...
    6) resynced with itunes for just my podcasts and they now work

  • Video Apps Crashing

    Hey Folks,
Restored my original iPhone backup to my 3G S and the Ustream and Joost apps are crashing. They will launch but when the start to play something they crash. Youtube app works.
Reinstalled the Ustream app with no improvement.
    Seen this? Ideas?
BTW, I am an IT Consultant and technically competent.
    Thanks,
    Robert A. Ober

    Hey Again,
Been searching the tubes, not seeing anybody talking about this yet. I suspect it may have something to do with the built in video support. Since the Apple supplied app Youtube works, I will bet Joost and Ustream need to rewrite their apps.
If you folks see/hear anything about this please reply.
    Have a fun fri,
    Robert

  • TsMuxer, MkvTools, FFmpegX  basically all video apps crash or don't open in

Tsmuxer by smartlabs doesn't open. Mkvtools opens but can't see file structure. FFmpegX crashes when importing many kinds of files. I have found I am back at my P.C. to do most of my video editing. I find Snow leopard useless and will be downgrading. Does anyone else have these problems?

    Guys,
I've followed my investigations about tsMuxer and Snow Leopard.
    Here are the results :
_GUI is not working due to an incompatibility in the qtlib_.
The GUI crashed and give the message :
+Qt: qcolorFromCGColor: cannot convert from colorspace model: 0+
    +ASSERT: "false" in file kernel/qt_mac.cpp, line 99+
    +Abort trap+
The work-around is to recompile the GUI from source given by SmartLabs. (QT libs and XCode are required for the operation).
If you don't want to compile the program by yourself, you can take the version down in the post.
_tsMuxeR is not working due to fonts interpretations problem._
We got a 'bus error' when trying to execute the command in command-line mode.
The problem is due to 2 particulars korean fonts supplied in Snow Leopard.
To solve the problem, if you don't use those korean fonts, delete or rename
the two following fonts : AppleMyungjo.ttf and Gungseouche.ttf located in /Library/Fonts
When done, the tsMuxeR command Line should Work
    _New version_
Based on that, I've rebuild the GUI and I've added the original tsMuxeR 1.10.6 inside the application.
Feel free to download it at http://rapidshare.com/files/326372784/tsMuxerGUI.1.9.9-with-tsMuxeR-1.10.6.zip
Be aware that qtlib are requested in order for the GUI to run (http://qt.nokia.com/download)

  • The video app on my iPad now only shows a black screen. Used to work fine then crashed in the middle of a short video.

The video app on my iPad now only shows a black screen. Used to work fine then crashed in the middle of a short video.  When I open the app the screen is just blank. As it is a default app I can't delete and reinstall. Anybody else experience this?

Try searching for the name of one of your videos on the iPad's spotlight search screen - swipe your first homescreen to the right, type in it's name, and if it finds it tap on it to see if it plays.
If that doesn't work then try closing the Videos app via the taskbar : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Videos app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Videos app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option if the two above don't work is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Metro app crash: only video players like "Video", "VLC", etc

Only the video player app in the metro UI crashes to start screen when opening a file.
In the player UI, the browsing of videos can be done fine but when clicking on any video it shows the player interface and loading for a sec or two...., then disappears/crashes to start screen.
to my knowledge it seems to b some codecs issue. Doesnot recall what cause it. just one day it started acting like so.
    how to fix it?

    Hi,
When a Windows 8 metro App crashes, an error is logged in Windows Administrative Events. You can view the details of any app crash by launching the Event Viewer and selecting Administrative Events under Custom Views.
If some error log appeared, please post it here so that we can help you analyze them.
If you cannot find any error, please uninstall this app and reinstall it.
Also, download App troubleshooter to test it, which can automatically find and fix some problems with apps.
    Try App troubleshooter:
