Video artwork all black

For some reason almost all the artwork (pictures) for my videos are black, i still have a picture in the artwork option on itunes, and if it has no artwork it should have a picture of a part of the video but its black still. there is only 1 video that has its artwork, and a couple podcasts.

Yeah I had this problem too and all I did was resync my music and videos. I don't know if this is related, but it seems to go black after I downloaded some podcasts to my iPod then synced them with iTunes. This problem happened quite a few times to me and just this last time I haven't downloaded any podcasts and everything's been good.

Trouble addign Podcast, now most of my album and video artwork are black!

So I added a few free podcast, worked fine, from my ipod. Than i tried adding some more the next day. It downloaded, but wouldn't appear in the ipod. So i plugged it in, and iTunes saw all my podcasts on my ipod, but the ipod just wont' display them. So I deleted all the ones on my ipod, and added all of them from my itunes back to my ipod. Now here's where the trouble began. After that, the original podcasts icons were replaced by screenshots from the video. All of my videos are now black screens as the icons, and half of my album pictures are also black as well. Any resolution? I tried finding the uncheck box to not display artwork, but I can't find it in iTunes 8. HELP PLS!

To rectify the art on your touch do this:
Try clicking "sync music" in iTunes to "off"
then sync >>> all your music should disappear from the touch.
Then click "sync music" to "on" and re-sync.

Imported Video is all black but audio still works

I have a Nikon V1. Whenever I shoot video using the 1080/60i setting and upload those video clips into Final Cut Pro X, they have no video, they just appear black.The audio works but there is a weird background noise that shouldnt be there. The main issue is that I can't use the video because it is all black.

Video is all black

I hope someone can help. I have spent week editing a video and I am almost done and I was just trying to add a title and now my video just shows up black in the canvas. I can hear everything but I don't see the video.

I am using FCE 2.0.3. I duplicated the sequence and I was using Title 3D. I think it went wrong when I was trying to superimpose the composite sequence from the browser to the cavas. All of the video is there if I right click a clip in the time line and choose open in editor I can see it.

I can't see any video website like youtube, vimeo, even facebook. My flash player is installed and it's work because I still can see the video in IE, only on Firefox it only audio work, the video is all blank(black), anyone can help me?

Try to disable the hardware acceleration in the Flash Player.

Imovie video playback is all black

Although in the event view I can see all the thumbs of the video, when I actually go to play the video, its all black in the video playback. Anyone have any idea whats going on??? Its only happening for a handfull of events.

I have the same problem. With all the videos in my library. Some videos are from the Canon XH-A1 camera, which is standard HDV. The others are from my Panasonic HS-100.
It seems that all the files are encoded with Apple Intermediate Codec.

Export from mov to m4v all black

Yep. It's slow.
The only way to get a faster conversion is to use a faster machine.
Avoid the H.264 video codec (if not needed) and use MPEG-4 settings as they are less demanding on the processor.

Photos on Facebook are all black, likewise full screen Youtube videos.

When I click on a Facebook photo, it quickly shows a full size blurry sketch, then turns all black. I can watch Youtube videos small, but when I make them full screen, they are all black.
Without first uninstalling Firefox, I downloaded Firefox and installed it again. It didn't improve the situation.

Try to disable hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

Firefox5 is not showing BBC iPlayer Video & Radio Other browsers are all fine(Safari,IE,Chrome) The iPlayer webpage is all there but the flash video player is black. The OS is XPpro.

Also, when the flash video does not show up it displays the error that I do not have the current flash player. The problem is that I do have the current flash player that actually plays flash from another section of the website.

All Black Imbedded Video Playback Option Gone?

i used to be able to watch video in three sizes, and the small & medium sizes were surrounded by all black...now i've only two sizes and i can't watch the small size surrounded by all black (only the large, full-screen size, which i most often don't want to do)...all the screen lighting's annoying...help

All video playback is black, but can hear audio.

I'm using a trial of CS6 and having trouble with imported clips. In the past I have been able to open these clips in CS5.5 and CS6 when on Windows 7. Now I am on Windows 8 and they are all black when I open them in CS6. They do play in windows media player just fine though.
I do game recording and the clips were originally recorded with mjpeg compression. On Windows 7 I encoded them using the default Youtube 1080p preset in CS6.
So far I've tried installing the motion mjpeg codec trial, and it didn't work. Tried installing the full k-lite codec pack, that didn't work.
My hardware:
i5 2500k @ 4.3GHz
16GB DDR3
2x 670 GTX SLI (althought Premiere is set to only use one GPU)
128GB SSD
3 1TB 7200 RPM Hitachi Deskstar single platter HDDs

This didn't fix anything unfortunately. And now I'm back on Windows 7, fresh install and using the 310.64 drivers I've been using all this time. Still have no video and can only hear the audio when watching in the source or sequence monitor. Clips play perfectly fine in windows media player.

Imported video all black?

Shot test footage on my Sanyo Xacti VPC-FH1. Importing the video produced an all black screen, but you can hear the sound. Playback on the camera is just fine.
The video is black when connecting the camera prior to the actual import, so that should tell you something. The camera shoots in H.264 format, so it is compatible right?

Thanks for that. I think reducing the quality of the camera defeats the object.
I've sorted the problem now and uninstalled it and asked for refund !
I'll stick to Imovie - no problems with that.

Video showing as black in CS6 on iMac CS6

I've just finished working on a summer playscheme project, and have handed the footage over to one of the participants to edit.
It was shot in HDV on a Sony Z1, and I captured it from tape to my PC as MPEG using Premiere. So this is 1440 x 1080 interlaced footage with a PAR of 1.333
The young lad has an iMac with Premiere CS6.04 on it. He rang me to say that the video was just black and couldn't be seen in Premiere. He'd imported the folder with the footage in, and Premiere incorrectly saw it as Progressive and as 1444 x 1080 with square pixels. Even after I talked him through the process of reinterpreting the footage it still wouldn't show up as anything but black in the bin, source, or project. MPE is software only.
I suggested to him that we start again from scratch. He made a new project. He used the Media Browser to navigate to the assets folder, and this time he could see the .mpeg clips as video. He imported one as a test. We checked that Premiere had recognised the PAR and field order correctly, which it had. We were able to make a sequence from this clip, and play it back in the timeline. All great, I thought, and left him to import the rest of the assets.
Hour later he calls me back to say that everything had reverted to black again. So we started from scratch again, and lo and behold, this time Premiere's media browser only saw the clips as black.... and when we imported one into the project, the properties were again misinterpreted, just as at the beginning.
SO we're stuck. The clips open and play back fine in Quicktime player but inside Premiere they only show as black.
Does anyone have any experience of this problem, and what we might do to troubleshoot it? Or even better, to solve it?
