Video artwork

I have about 50 videos in iTunes, mainly clips that I've collected over the years, ripped off youtube etc...
However, the artwork on about 80% of the videos is the same - a random frame from one of the videos I have.
When I right click, get info, however, the artwork (top left of the "info" window) shows up just fine.
This is a bit of a pain when looking at the art on iPhone, iPad etc. Is there a way to reset the artwork?
Obviously get info --> Artwork --> Add isn't much good as I don't have JPEGs of all the clips - I just want a random frame.
Thanks,
Ed Ludlow

you can always take a different clip from the video.
open it, pause on the frame you want, right click and select 'set poster frame'. that'll change the artwork.

  • Video artwork in iTunes

    Hi,
I've had my Mac for about 9 months now and have just purchased an Elgato TV tuner to record the good films on TV and sync to view them onto my iphone.
The problem I have is most of the recordings are absolutely fine, however there are the odd few that will not allow me to add artwork i.e. the dvd cover, I can change the name and year etc and then add the artwork but upon exiting it reverts back to the info when it was imported. I'm at a loss as to why this is happening, my library is on an external Iomega drive via firewire and I'm running a 24inch.
I've also attempted to import a couple of videos guides from the digital photo cover CD, after converting to the correct format iTunes imports them into the music library and I cannot watch the video content only listen to the audio (converted using iSkysoft).
apologies as this may seem to be a bit basic.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Cheers
    C

For your own videos, you would play the video until you get to the frame you want and then pause it. Make sure the box in the bottom left is set to "Now playing", right click on the video in that box and choose "Set Poster Frame".
However I believe Apple iTunes Store supplied movies actually show a DVD type cover and I have no idea how they do that since the Get Info box does not let you seem to paste artwork for videos/movies.

  • Trouble addign Podcast, now most of my album and video artwork are black!

So I added a few free podcast, worked fine, from my ipod. Than i tried adding some more the next day. It downloaded, but wouldn't appear in the ipod. So i plugged it in, and iTunes saw all my podcasts on my ipod, but the ipod just wont' display them. So I deleted all the ones on my ipod, and added all of them from my itunes back to my ipod. Now here's where the trouble began. After that, the original podcasts icons were replaced by screenshots from the video. All of my videos are now black screens as the icons, and half of my album pictures are also black as well. Any resolution? I tried finding the uncheck box to not display artwork, but I can't find it in iTunes 8. HELP PLS!

To rectify the art on your touch do this:
Try clicking "sync music" in iTunes to "off"
then sync >>> all your music should disappear from the touch.
Then click "sync music" to "on" and re-sync.
    it worked for me

  • Displaying Video Artwork on iPod

Can I get my iPod to display artwork for videos I rip myself? When I look at the song file of the video under the labums section, the artwork does not appear on the iPod even though it does in iTunes. Any ideas?

All videos also get added into the song library of the iPod so that you can choose to play only the audio if, say, the iPod is in your pocket and you do not want to waste battery power on the visual you are not watching. Artwork then shows up with the song information, as if it was a normal song. This only occurs for me with the video I bought from iTunes, and not the ones I made myself. I want to change that.

  • Video Artwork iTunes 12.0.1.26

        Hello,
I have multiple home videos that i keep in my iTunes Library.    But it is not allowing me to add any artwork to the video.    Any thoughts?
It seems hat every time apple updates (which is WAY too much, it never works right after).
    Thanks!

If you highlight the artwork and backspace it will delete.  To copy and paste artwork from a web page, do a copy, then add artwork in iTunes and paste into the search dialogue box and it will enter the web location and add the artwork when you hi enter.
WHY APPLE CHANGED A VERY SIMPLE PROCEDURE INTO ONE THAT IS TOTALLY COUNTER INTUITIVE AND REQYIRES 2-3 MORE KEYSTROKES IS REALLY ****** UP!!!!!

  • Video artwork doesn't appear after upgrade to IOS 8

The videos on my iPad are a mix of videos purchased through iTunes and other videos from my personal collection.  For years, I've had no problem converting videos to the appropriate format so that I could watch them on my iPad. I've usually add artwork to these files, and this has generally worked flawlessly. . . until last week when I upgraded to IOS 8. Now, the only artwork that shows is for items purchased from iTunes--the other videos are there, but there is just a blank box where the artwork should appear. I suspect that Apple has done this intentionally to encourage users to ONLY use content from iTunes, but the vast majority of users have much more diverse collections. If I'm right--shame on Apple, and this might be the last straw for me (a once very customer-centered company has become far less so in recent years). If not, does anyone have a possible solution?

Can't believe this worked! I had same issue since upgrade, searched web, found this... Hoover the mic for around 15 seconds... It only flaming well worked!

  • Video artwork all black

For some reason almost all the artwork (pictures) for my videos are black, i still have a picture in the artwork option on itunes, and if it has no artwork it should have a picture of a part of the video but its black still. there is only 1 video that has its artwork, and a couple podcasts.

Yeah I had this problem too and all I did was resync my music and videos. I don't know if this is related, but it seems to go black after I downloaded some podcasts to my iPod then synced them with iTunes. This problem happened quite a few times to me and just this last time I haven't downloaded any podcasts and everything's been good.

1st. I've downloaded videora ipod converter . how do i use it? I converted my file, now i'm stuck.
Have you converted in to mp4 format? if so go to itunes and add the video file to libary.
How do i find out what generation i have?
You have a gen 5 ipod
Does anyone know an easier way to get movies,tv shows or anything. i can't access itunes cause of cresit problems:(.
I guess you could try searching for mp4 files on file sharing websites and programs.
I'm good with music except i don't see my ALBUM artwork on my ipod. Some songs are from the ORIGINAL cd.
itunes may be able to find some of this artwork by its self but i have found that it is easier to ad it my self sometimes. select all of the songs in the album right click "get info" and drag and drop the artwork (a jpg photo or something) into the artwork tab.

  • Video artwork not correct

I imported several videos into Itunes. In the folder they were originally in, they each had indivdual artwork (screen captures). In Itunes, all of a sudden ten of the videos all display the same artwork (which is only the correct one for the first video). Simialr story for another three videos. When I click 'get info', in the summary tab, the correct screen capture IS displayed, but under the artwork tab there is nothing. When i copied an image into the artwork page, it didnt change what is being displyed in Itunes.
Any ideas as to how to make the videos display the image they have from the original folder?

Tried changing the album names- six songs changed to a different picture, but again its the same picture for those 6. Also, i just realised this is only happening in the grid view on itunes- if use the cover flow view, the correct pictures show up.
ETA Uhh....so in the last 60 secs i was mucking around with the size bar so i could view all the icons in grid view without scrolling-and all of a sudden the pics were correct! i don't know why but something worked...
    Thanks

  • Changing Video Artwork

Sorry if this has been posted before but I'm having a hard time searching for this so I'll just go ahead and ask. I just ripped a DVD to transfer to my iPod using HandBrake. I tried command-i to change the artwork associated with this video but noticed that the add artwork button was greyed out. Is there anyway to change the artwork for this type of video? Thanks guys!

If you meant movie poster or cover art: copy desired artwork to the clipboard, go to iTunes, command-i, just paste into artwork area (don't worry about "add" button).
If you mean using a specific frame from the movie: Open in QuickTime Player (might require Pro, not sure, but can also be done with apps like Podner and the like - assuming you're using a Mac since you mentioned HandBrake), go to frame you want, choose "set poster frame", save movie, reimport into iTunes. The default artwork for a movie is it's poster frame; which is the first frame of a movie if it hasn't been set as above.

  • Music Video Artwork, Album Artist and Other Problems

hi I've got a few problems with my G4 Nano and was wondering if any of you guys would know what to do.
firstly the music video problem. Some album's come with a music video for one of the songs, normally at the end, but on my nano, it puts the music videos first and uses their art instead of the album art. Now the funny thing is, is that if you click them in music it shows the art and plays the audio like any other track, you can only see it the right way under video>music Video. Is there anyway to put them at the end so correct art is shown?
And then recently I bought Good Girl Gone Bad:Reloaded by rihanna from the itunes store which has a track by Maroon 5 in which she features. In cover flow (on my ipod) it has the album twice. Once with Maroon 5 as the artist and once with Rihanna. Both have the full album.
And thirdly I have some CD's I've ripped to itunes that have featuring artists, and when I add them to my ipod is says they are various artists. any way to put them under the actual artist?
Yeah there is a lot. Any help with any of these is extremely appreiciated. not because it hinders my listening to them, i can work around it all, but it's just annoying for obvious reasons. I have to say it's kind of funny that most of my problems are to do with stuff from the iTunes Music Store.
    Thanks

oh this seems to have sunk through the pages. Anyone have any idea about even one of these problems?

  • Movie video artwork doesn't display properly on iPad video app

I have seen the discussion around the problems / solutions regarding the proper displaying of TV shows on the iPad when accessing a shared library, but my problem is with Movie files. The artwork does not display properly. Sometimes the artwork from one movie will be duplicated onto another movie, or they will be all switched around. I have both iTunes purchased movies and converted backups of from my DVD library.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I have tried many things. While I see changes in the displayed artwork, they are generally messed up in one way or another on the iPad when accessing the shared library on my computer.

Curiously enough, if I click on a movie from the shared library on the iPad, the correct artwork shows on the right sight of the window that let's you play the movie or navigate to a chapter. When I go back to the menu screen for all the movies in the shared library, the artwork is still wrong.
Artwork is messed up even for home-created movies - one of them shows a preview screenshot of the Warner Brothers logo instead of the picture I have in the Artwork setting in iTunes.

  • Adding Video Artwork Crashes iTunes

Everytime I convert one of my DVDs to .mov format, it is added to my computer perfectly (using the Videora iPhone converter).
However, when I attempt to add artwork to my movie, the movie is erased from my library and iTunes crashes. What is wrong and what can I do?
It only became a problem with iTunes 6.

  • Video/album artwork will not transfer after upgrade

Just upgraded my iPad 2. Now the video artwork doesn't transfer from iTunes which was also upgraded to latest version. The art shows in iTunes and the info bar does its thing to show that it transfers but it doesn't. How do I fix this? I have windows7 pc.

Having similar issue....not seeing ARTWORK on my iPod or in my hard disk library....
first time i loaded the ipod the artwork showed up...had to reload it (and had to reconvert all CD's to MP3 on hard disk...lesson learned) and now no artwork anywhere.
    Advice?

  • Poster Frames on Ripped Videos Lost, Not Synced to iPad or iPhone

iTunes 10.2.1 on latest Mac OS X 10.6.7.
I have videos which I've ripped from Blu-ray via MakeMKV and Handbrake. When I import them into iTunes and then set a poster frame, more often than not:
    1. The poster frame is easily lost, especially if I do a Get Info on a movie. Sometimes the poster frame disappears without me having done anything.
    2. The poster frame is not included when I sync the movie onto my iPad or iPhone.
    3. Also, chapter thumbnails for chapters appear in all black on the iPad or iPhone.
This is seriously lame. Does anyone know of a solution for these problems? Is ANYONE from Apple working on this? This USED to work in the days before iOS 4.2 and iTunes 10.

I've just experienced  similar problem at work and found a solution to some extent. Initially we got the video artwork looking correct in itunes by right clicking on the video window whilst it was playing and clicking 'set poster frame', however although this worked for itunes the artwork dissappeared once on the iPad. The solution I have found is to use metaX on the pc to set the .mp4 video artwork and then use itunes on my mac to sync the videos. It's worth noting that every time I tried to use the mac version of metaX to add the artwork it made the entre video into a black screen.
Basically it seems itunes fails to proerly tag the metadata of some files, luckily other programs like metaX seem to do it ok.
