Video/Audio 2-Column Scripting Format

How can I create 2 independent vertical columns on a blank page, so that I can script video instructions inside the LEFT column and dialogue inside the RIGHT column? I'll need a little bit of buffer space in-between the columns. I'm trying to create a scripting template for TV and event production. Some of my scripts run as long as 62 pages, so the 2 columns will need to link independently of each other through page after page. Thank you very much.

Carissa,
I tried this in Pages 3.0.1, but I think it will work in Pages 2.
To create the script layout you desire, try this. First, type your audio in a word processor. Then copy it. In a new WP document create a table set as Inline (Moves with text). In the Table Inspector set it for ONE row and THREE columns and Automatically resize to fit content. Drag column three’s left border to the left to make the 2nd column about a half inch wide. In the header type Video and Audio in the 1st and 3rd columns respectively. Now paste your script into the third column. Each paragraph will create a separate cell and the table will flow to as many pages as necessary.
Now you can go back and type your video instructions into column one. Your video and audio cells will stay aligned should you need to edit. Column two will be a space between columns 1 and 3.
When done, go to the Inspector and hide the grid.
I think this should export to Word okay. I don't have Word so I can't test it.

  • Columns - script format

HELP... i am trying to build a template that i can use to write TV scripts. I need it to have 3 columns... which I did with ease... Here is the problem...
when i type down to the bottom of the first column... I need the text that i am typing to go continue to the TOP of the FIRST column on the NEXT page. All it can do now is go to the top of the second column on the first page. There has got to be a way to do this!
    Help.

No need to link tables. Set them as Inline (Fixed on page) and they will continue, except a single cell will not split over two pages. Make each paragraph a new cell and the text in your three columns will stay aligned with each other. Add an extra column in between your text columns and set them for something like a half inch to serve as gutters between the text.
Btw, please lose the caps. No need to shout.

  • No more audio or video preview in column view?

weird one... on my powerbook (g4) i suddenly have no ability to play/preview audio or video file in column view in the finder. works fine on my desktop machine with the same os and such...? highlighting a file just gives its name and dates and such, no ability to preview.
using 10.4.8 and QT 7.1.3. tried updating prebinding (and other normal quickfixes). think i might need to reinstall quicktime?

well, yes i tried all the basic quick fixes. (plus diskwarrior and applejack, etc.)
i thought i might find it in some of the preferences of finder or quicktime but no go.
the weirder thing is that if you highlight an audio or video file in the column view, while it gives no audio or video preview, if you click on the "get more info" button (or command-i) there will be the audio or video preview.

  • Best Video/audio format to upload to YouTube

Please recommend best Video/audio format to upload to YouTube, for a) upload speed, b) picture and sound quality.

Emailing video can be a real drama.
You can easily convert YouTube video if you have the free software MPEG Streamclip: http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
Download version 1.9.3b4 and install in your applications.
Open then File > Open URL and copy/paste the YT clip address.
Then File > Export to QuickTime and select Apple Intermediate Codec for the compression.
The converted file will import into iMovie.

  • RTMP video/audio format

    Hi,
I'm trying to make a software which sends video and audio data to a flash media server by using RTMP protocol.
Currently, my program can communicate with a flash media server correctly.
RTMP specifications does not describe about the raw data in video/audio messages, so I muxed raw H.264 and AAC data into video/audio messages and sent to the server.
The server seems to accept them, but a video player cannot playback the stream sending from the server.  The player just says "Loading..."
For a test purpose, I sniffed the network packets between Wirecast and the flash media server and ripped off only video and audio data.  Then, I muxed those data into video/audio message and sent to the flash media server.  In this case, the video player connected to the server can playback the stream correctly.
I checked the stream sent from Wirecast, the stream seems not to be H.264 raw data because those data are not started from 0x17 instead of H.264 start code.
With those situation, I am wondering what kind of container format I should use for H.264/AAC data to the flash media server.
    Does anyone have idea?

Hi NpComplete, Thank you for your answer.
Hmm, No. I muxed raw H.264/AAC stream into rtmp video/audio messages and divided into rtmp chunks, then send to the server.
The problem is that the stream in rtmp video/audio messages is NOT usual raw H.264/AAC data.
It seems to be muxed data for FLV video/audio which is described in FLV specs.  And, the rtmp specs does not mention about it at all.
    flv specs: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flv/
    rtmp specs: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/rtmp/
I am still reverse-engineering the Wirecast stream to find out what kind of muxing format it is.  Because it is seemingly FLV video/audio muxed data, but also it seems to be little bit different from them.
Also, thank you for telling about FMS/rtmp sdk, but I didn't notice that before implementing rtmp protocol into my program.
And, I already implemented rtmp protocol into my program correctly, so the problem is only data which are inside rtmp video/audio message.
Even so, just in case, I'll contact to adobe to get the SDK. =)
Do you know about the muxing format inside rtmp video/audio message for H.264/AAC?
    Thanks,

  • APE 12 exporting to MPEG only the audio is rendered not the video. Exports to other formats.

When exporting (rendering) a HD video through Adobe Premier Elements  12 to MPEG only the audio is rendered not the video. Exports to other formats.

I'm actually surprised that you can playback ProRes files in Windows Media Player, which normally exploits neither QuickTime components, nor reverse-engineered decoders from ffmpeg library... So as to be able to successfully import ProRes media into Adobe products you have to get QuickTime 7 installed (the latest version is 7.7.4). If your files are not corrupted and you didn't somehow install something like K-Lite codec pack on your machine, you should be good to go.

  • Adobe Request: multi-column scripts

    Hi guys/gals,
We're looking for examples of multi-column scripts as we develop Story.  If any of you here have real-world examples and want to share them, please send me a private message on how we can get them.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
    Dennis

I don't have any to hand, but I recall working on a medical program as a grip that used one.  The format was 4 columns, Program time, video, graphic, and audio.  It worked as both a shooting and editing script.
I've been trying to get a producer I work with to buy some software so we can have such a script, instead of his preferred "winging it" style of working, which usually means I go scrounging for a shot in post because we don't have enough footage.

  • Video/audio Stuttering on Macbook 13

    Hi All
I have a mid 2007 Macbook 13 running OS X Lion 10.7.4.  all up to date.  Initially I had 4G's of ram ( I know it only reads 3 ) now I have it running on only 2.
Problem is video/audio stuttering when running movies. mostly netflix and or connected to a flat screen tv. on wireless or wired connection.  but it also happens just running youtube videos or videos that I have on the system mostly in .AVI format.   I could be running movies with VLC or quicktime and same ting.  I've tried turning every running program off.  like firewall, little snitch, sophos AV, etc.  after turning them all off I do a restart.  I have done permssion repair, checked the disk, run the daily scripts,  even downgraded to SL to see if Lion was too much for the system and nothing.  of of the 4G's of ram that I have.  I swapped them to see if maybe one or 2 of them ware bad.  when I install the operating system, I do a clean install.  delete partition, format, the whole thing and bring it up to date.  not all at one time.  disk permissions repaired after each big updated.  almost half the time the videos will run ok and than it starts stuttering.  when is doing it.  not even the mouse responds in those few seconds.  is like something is grabbing all the system memory for a few seconds at a time.  it has gotten to the point that the system completly frezzes and I get that black translusent window that says the system needs to be restarted.
I have about 40% free HD space.
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The behavior you mention is typical of MacBooks with the GMA 950 video chipset and 64MB VRAM.
The best solution I've found is to quickly pause the video and let the video load completely before watching, IF the website allows it and will preload the content. Not all of them do. Some sites automatically buffer before they begin playing.
Watch in a window rather than full-screen.
Watch content on your MacBook screen rather than a HDTV.
The Safari Extension "ClickToFlash" lets you choose whether to load Flash content at all. It also allows 'preferring' H264/HTML5 web video content when available, and seems to be a bit better than simply defaulting to Flash content for every website.
I have a mid-2007 MacBook 2,1 with 4/3GB RAM. It is the very oldest model capable of supporting Lion. After reading of performance issues with these older systems in these forums, I chose to remain on Snow Leopard rather than upgrading to Lion. Snow Leopard runs most things I do very well in 3GB. Lion really seems to need 4GB and would like 8GB, from what I read here.
You don't mention how fast your internet connection is. A faster internet connection MIGHT help some. A wired Ethernet connection MIGHT offer a bit more throughput than WiFi. Worth trying out, especially if you have a friend with a faster connection where you can try before you pay to upgrade.
Ultimately we're talking about 5-year-old computers. That's "ancient" in computer life cycles, and the best solution (not most cost-effective) is a new(er) Mac. It's not a problem unique to Mac. Old Windows XP systems lack the performance of new hardware running 64-bit Windows 7.
New or recent Refurbs with 4GB or more RAM, faster video chipset, more VRAM, faster clock-speed, Intel "Sandy Bridge" (or "Ivy Bridge" likely coming soon) dual-core or quad-core processor, and, yes, a hefty pricetag to match. Anything else is at best a temporary measure to buy a bit of time (a year, maybe?) until you can purchase a new(er) faster better Mac.

  • Videos work fine, but when view in ITunes Video/Audio are not Synced up

    Hello,
Im not sure how to get around this but at the moment im converting my DVDs to mp4 format to view through itunes/appletv.
The MP4 files work fine when watched in Windows Media Player or VLC Media but when i watch it through ITunes the video/audio is not matching up.
    How can i fix this?

    Hello
When I try to play H264 format Movie files via iTunes (9.0.2.25) or Quicktime Player (7.6.5) the audio is half to a full second ahead of the video.
I have tried multiple H264 format videos and they all have the same problem.
If I try playing the same files in Windows Media Player then the video and audio is all in sync as it should be.
I have tried multiple machines, Windows 7, Vista and XP, all of which show the same issue.
Any help in resolving this issue would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Kevin

  • Fcp X share export media export video & audio but I simply can't work with audio

I simply wanna (and even tried to) save a movie using whichever codec, I make sure to set it up on "export video & audio", but I cannot do anything on audio since the audio file format won't be highlighted (just like if there was no sound on a video & audio file !!) It works if I choose an "audio only" file, but that's not what I want - I want to export video & audio. !!!
Is it a matter of codec or a preference setting... I just cant figure out !
Has anybody ever got the same trouble?
    Cheers

It was set to Surround and 48Khz. I set it to Stereo (and 44.1Khz for good measure, as that is the sample rate of my soundtrack) and then re-exported to H.264, and now the audo is perfectly centered.
    So that's perfect, thanks.
Now the only thing wrong with FCPX is how it crashes every ten minutes or so!

  • Record a 3 hour live webcast video & audio

Can QT record a webcast? If yes, how? I don't see the controls for recording. If no, then what is "the program" to use? I have been searching several discussions and programs but nothing seems to be a for sure solution unless I am recording from a camera or DVD or only want audio. I have Final Cut Express HD that I bought February 2007 and never opened but don't see that it has recording capability. I need to record video & audio of a webcast coming over the net and I only have a couple hours left to get this working.
    ThankU for any help

How much hard drive space do you have???
Depending on the dimensions (xy), acquisition codec and final codec for the video your looking at some major hard drive space.
I believe Snapz Pro X uses acquisition codec and then transcodes that video to a final codec/format. IShowU is another screen capture program. It transcodes on the fly, major CPU usage. (I have both of these programs.)
This is something to should have been setup and tested a few days ago. All you need is a small hiccup during recoding and you'll end up with nothing but garbage at the end of the recording. If you recoded to your system hard drive and fill it up during recoding you could run into some problems with you system hard drive. I wouldn't advise recording to your system hard. Recoding to a USB external hard drive won't cut the mustard, to slow. You'll need something like a external 800 firewire hard drive.
Three hours of recoding won't be a easy task.
