Video Audio Mute Problem
I'm having a problem with the audio from the Quicktime movies I've imported for the film I'm scoring. I extract the audio from the movie, place it in an audio track and then mute the original audio using "Song Settings>Video>Sound Output>Mute. This works at that moment. When I save the song, close Logic
and later reopen it, the setting still says Mute, but the audio plays through the
system audio. Moving the setting to System Sound, then back to Mute fixes it.
This does happen every time. I can't turn off my system audio, because I'm using that to output click. I have to extract the audio to sync it up with picture.
Sounds like a bug, walks like a bug, any suggestions?

Embedded Video Audio Sync Problem
I have been exporting Flash Video from Adobe Premiere
Elements 3.0. I import the .FLV into Flash 8 as embedded video. The
published .SWF works fine, audio and video start in sync and stay
in sync, but about 3/4 through the video, audio stops.
This occurs no matter how short or long the exported clip.
I did my best searching through these forums, looking for an
answer to this issue, but have had no success.Do you need to embed the FLV file in the SWF file? I would
recommend playing the FLV as an external file. If you need to use
embedded video, make sure the frame rates are identical (SWF and
FLV). I can't remember if Premiere Elements enables you to output
with Raw audio for FLV files, but Flash 8 (or CS3) will recompress
an embedded video's audio track on publish/export--so, try to use
Raw if you can to avoid recompression. This might have something to
do with your problem too, the recompression of the MP3 audio track
in your original FLV when re-exporting as embedded video in the
SWF. (Your audio stream setttings in the Publish Settings control
the quality/recompression of your FLV output when embedded in the
SWF.)

Common Video/Audio Chat problem Error -8
I have the very common problem of being unable to video/audio chat and it ending with error and 8 and iChat telling both parties that they were the one who was unable to respond. I opened all of the ports that was suggested for Ichat to work on my macbook. I reset my modem to facotry settings, and it only contains a 64-bit WEP password, nothing is changed. It is a Netgear WGR614v6. The log from the chat reads as follows. (As a note I was able to connect with a friend who lives 20 or so miles away earlier today, but am unable to connect to other people [only tried one other person, possibly he is the one with the problem?])

By default most Netgears should do UPnP
However they do have a Setting in the WAN page for either DOS or SPI and this is set to Block connections that the device thinks is "Too Much Data too Quickly"
The Check box disables this.
Check the checkbox.
Save Settings.
Any further issues may be solved by lowering the MTU rate to 1492.

Video audio sync problems resolved
I've solved my audio syncing with video problems. Maybe it will help you find your solution.
I recently installed Leap Motion but it said I needed to update my video driver. I thought my driver was up to date so for both my computers that had different video cards I updated and the syncing issues were gone.
So as far as helping you get the right update I won't be of much help. But at least this will give everyone a direction to look in and find their own solution.

In addition to what Leslie offered (which is good advice) I've seen others report success by staging the audio to begin slightly after the slide starts. Perhaps .3 .4 or .5 seconds into each slide.

Video/Audio Connection Problems with 10.4.5
I'm experiencing problems today using iChat to connect with another Mac user. I've been connecting to this user with no problems and then tonight, I could only text chat. When I accept an incoming video chat it appears to be connecting and then I get a message saying I've left the chat. On the other end, they get a message saying I didn't accept. The opposite happens if I initiate the video chat. No luck either with just audio.
Unfortunately, I have two variables and I'm not sure which one is the culprit. This afternoon my system updated to 10.4.5. As part of that update, there apparently was a change to iChat but there isn't any documentation. My other variable is that I also switched from my cable modem provider to DSL. I originally thought it was a DSL issue but have followed all the steps I could find to take the DSL modem out of the equation. I'm using BellSouth for DSL and a Westell 6100 modem. I've set the modem to bridge mode and disabled DNS so that my Airport Extreme is handling all those duties. As far as I can tell, the Westell is only acting as modem and Airport is doing the rest, just as it did when using the cable modem.
Unfortunately, I'm still not connecting. While I didn't get a chance to test the DSL prior to the 10.4.5 update, I'm wondering if there's a problem with the update since it did have an iChat component. The other Mac user is still on 10.4.4.

I would stop and actually check the Airport is getting the Public IP address.
Open Airport Admin Utility for the Applications/Utilities folders and log on
Go to the Internet Tab.
This should be set to the connection Type of the ISP and show DNS Subnet and IP details.
The IP details should be the same as what you see when you go here http://www.myip.dk/
It might also pay to try without the Airport first and check if the modem is in fact the problem (or at least the ports or Firewall), despite what you think you have set. -
E66 with Video/audio sync problem
Is there someone where the E66 does NOT have the audio/video sync problem?
Test:
Record your finger tapping on the table, then check if Video and Audio are in sync
Mine has 1 sec or more afer a few seconds of recordingI called Nokia care,
They never heard of the problem!
They did not even know there was a firmware upgrade last feb.
Furthermore on the site, still frimware from nov last year is advertised as latest!
I will go to a service point, or return the phone to the store. -

Audio sync problem with videos imported from iPod Touch
I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation that I used to shoot video at a family birthday party. When I imported the footage into iMovie '11, the audio is not in sync with the video (video is about two seconds behind audio) and there is only the left channel of audio. I verified that the video on the iPod plays just fine--no audio sync problem, both left and right channels work. I just upgraded to iOS 5 on the iPod Touch. The iMac is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
As a workaround, I can import the video into iPhoto instead. When I play the video in iPhoto, there are no audio sync problems and both channels of audio can be heard. I have imported other iPod Touch videos successfully into iMovie '11 in the past few months, but this has been the first time these problems have occurred. Any help would be appreciated.Premiere cannot handle clips with variable framerate.
Your converted clips need to have constant framerate.
Otherwise use a converter like Handbrake. -
The problem I am having is that i capture my video/audio by fire wire using a PV-GS250 panasonic camcorder and a firepod that I record audio with. The problem comes in that it seems over time the two aren't sinced. I line up the to and match up the sounds. Say at 1 minute in. Then I go to 1 hour our and the audios are off from each others. I turned off auto save in premiere. Went in msconfig and turned off several things that where starting up. Both audios are 16 bit 48, one is mono and the other stereo. Using Windows Vista sp1. 4 gigs ram, 8700 video with 512 ram, processor intel core 2 xtreme x9000 @ 2.8ghz. I don't have any drop frames and can't find anything wrong. Help, thanks Dave..
The problem is that audio device manufacturers, for some reason that I'm sure would be entirely illogical, can't seem to make devices that record at the same exact rate as DV cameras. I don't know why they can't do this. DV camera makers build cameras that keep sync with each other all the time. I can find no theoretical reason why audio device makers can't build recorders that also keep sync with DV cameras, except that they're just not trying.
So it's not your fault, Dave. The only thing you can do is adjust the speed of the audio clip to match. With my equipment, the adjustment turns out to be 100.04%, so it's a very small shift. No one will ever notice any pitch difference. -
Video audio problem when import to premiere CS4
I have a file encode by flash media live encoder and I try to edit in premiere CS4 but when I import the file the video audio is not synchronised. The recorded file play run good in adobe media player. Any sugestions? Thanks in advance.
Going back a bit over a year, there was a thread on this forum, where the OP needed to use the Flash Live Recorder, as there were both streaming material from lectures and then edited material to go up on their intranet Web site for later viewing. That poster had similar issues with the live material, IIRC.
I am certain that this thread was after the forum change over, so should still be on the servers. Wish that I could recall more details, but in the end, the OP found resolution to the problem. I know that I participated, but from the side lines. Seems that there was even footage of a rock performance involved in the feed and I edited the FLV material on my PrPro 2.0 with Moyea FLV Importer for Premiere plug-in. I'll look in my e-mail and YouSendIt account to see if I can find the poster's name (might not be his Adobe screen name), but a Search of this forum ought to turn up something. I'll also do a Search and maybe between us, we can find that thread, as there might be some useful tips in it.
In the meantime, maybe this ARTICLE can help you edit the OOS issues.

I've made a movie in iMovie. Now all of a sudden the sound that I added to my video is mute. I havn't changed anything and in my other iMovie-projects the sound is working fine. What is the problem? Help!
Try double tapping the movie clip itself when inserted in the timeline and ensure that sound is on on the actual clip on the movie time line.

Is it possible to mute video audio and play music?
I am trying to put together a video and would like to at one point in the video mute the video audio and play a bit of music during the video and then after that section un mute the video audio and mute the music.
Can this be done in iMovie 09 and if so how?
ThanksIf you're Airplaying from you computer, you might be able to do this. Here's what I would try:
Go to the Airplay icon in iTunes. You should see both your Apple TV and your speakers listed as options. Select "Multiple speakers." You'll see both devices together. Turn the volume all the way down on the Apple TV. You should be getting the video on the TV, but only hear audio through the speakers.
Using the "Multiple Speakers" option will sync the output of your devices so that the sound matches the picture.
I haven't tried this myself, but I'm thinking this would work. However, this approach will only work when using Airplay from your computer – not from am iPad or iPhone – as they don’t have the "Multiple Speakers" option (as far as I know). It also won't work with content streamed directly to your ATV, obviously, because there's no way to stream from ATV to other devices.

Mp3 audio channel problems in h.264 video file
I'm trying to encode an mp4/h.264 video file with an mp3 audio channel. I'm tried encoding it with both Adobe Media Encoder and ffmpeg (using libmp3lame). I'm streaming the video files using ffmpeg to stream the file through Red5 as a live stream. When the Flex AIR clients play the stream (using the Spark VideoDisplay component), I hear a frequent sort of chirping sounding audio artifact. I've also tried playing these files directly from my harddrive in a simple AIR app using NetStream and the Video component. When I try this I don't hear any audio at all. In both tests if I use an FLV (On2 VP6) file with an mp3 channel it sounds fine. Unfortunately I need to use h.264 video.

Have you tried FILE/IMPORT MOVIE and then navigate to the h.264 file?
If that does not work, but the h.264 will play in QuickTIme PLayer, then you can get MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5 (which is free). Drag the h.264 file into MPEG Streamclip. Then FILE/EXPORT TO QUICKTIME. Choose Apple Intermediate Codec for Compressions. You can use this file in iMovie by clicking FILE/IMPORT MOVIE. -
Autosync - Sync Detection Problem with Video/Audio from different sources

i've got the following problem:
I'm editing a feature film, where video comes from tape and audio from harddisc-recorder. The clips are combined/linked manually via in-point (slate).
If I cut this video/audio combined clip in the timeline, and move only the audio 3 frames to the right, sync detection informs me correct about the out of sync problem (3 frames). BUT: If I split the audio file in two pieces, the left clip still has the "out of sync" info in the timeline and remains "linked" to the video, but the right clip doesn't show his relation to the video anymore !!!
Is this a bug ?
Because, if I use video and audio from one "media-source", ex dv, the sync detection in the timeline is working correct with the above example ?
I'm lookin' for a similar way to sync clips like autosync with media-composer and thought combine audio and video clip to a new combined clip should do this....

As for the sync, I guess that's OK - it's no worse than what I had before (and with the waveforms back, less of an issue to do manually). Would be nice if they'd add the ability to offset the audio track in the Modify Clip screen at some point (and it would open up the multi-cam sync feature to more users), but I can cope without for now.

Error 7 is when a router or the connection to the router is broken in some way.
Some devices have features such as Denial Of Service protection (DoS) that cut a particular Internet Port when it thinks too much data is coming (Presuming it is an attack.)
iChat 5 in Leopard is not capped by the System Preferences > Quicktime Streaming speed (which we used to suggest was set at 1.5Mbps)
It now sees your whole Connection speed and your Upload may be much faster than this.
Your Download is likely to be much faster. However iChat will tend to operate at the lower figure of your Upload.
DoS features are threshold based.
You may now be bumping in to this Threshold where you were not before.
SPI (Stateful packet Inspection) does a different job but has the same effect when it is overloaded by the speed of the data.
If you have either of these features, turn them Off (Disable them)
