Video audio problems

The problem I am having is that i capture my video/audio by fire wire using a PV-GS250 panasonic camcorder and a firepod that I record audio with. The problem comes in that it seems over time the two aren't sinced. I line up the to and match up the sounds. Say at 1 minute in. Then I go to 1 hour our and the audios are off from each others. I turned off auto save in premiere. Went in msconfig and turned off several things that where starting up. Both audios are 16 bit 48, one is mono and the other stereo. Using Windows Vista sp1. 4 gigs ram, 8700 video with 512 ram, processor intel core 2 xtreme x9000 @ 2.8ghz. I don't have any drop frames and can't find anything wrong. Help, thanks Dave..

The problem is that audio device manufacturers, for some reason that I'm sure would be entirely illogical, can't seem to make devices that record at the same exact rate as DV cameras. I don't know why they can't do this. DV camera makers build cameras that keep sync with each other all the time. I can find no theoretical reason why audio device makers can't build recorders that also keep sync with DV cameras, except that they're just not trying.
So it's not your fault, Dave. The only thing you can do is adjust the speed of the audio clip to match. With my equipment, the adjustment turns out to be 100.04%, so it's a very small shift. No one will ever notice any pitch difference.

  • Video audio problem when import to premiere CS4

I have a file encode by flash media live encoder and I try to edit in premiere CS4 but when I import the file the video audio is not synchronised. The recorded file play run good in adobe media player. Any sugestions? Thanks in advance.

Going back a bit over a year, there was a thread on this forum, where the OP needed to use the Flash Live Recorder, as there were both streaming material from lectures and then edited material to go up on their intranet Web site for later viewing. That poster had similar issues with the live material, IIRC.
I am certain that this thread was after the forum change over, so should still be on the servers. Wish that I could recall more details, but in the end, the OP found resolution to the problem. I know that I participated, but from the side lines. Seems that there was even footage of a rock performance involved in the feed and I edited the FLV material on my PrPro 2.0 with Moyea FLV Importer for Premiere plug-in. I'll look in my e-mail and YouSendIt account to see if I can find the poster's name (might not be his Adobe screen name), but a Search of this forum ought to turn up something. I'll also do a Search and maybe between us, we can find that thread, as there might be some useful tips in it.
In the meantime, maybe this ARTICLE can help you edit the OOS issues.

  • Ipod 5th Generation Video Audio Problem

well i have a couple of movies on my ipod. and when i play it for the first about 10-20 minutes the audio matches up with the video. But then after that the audio lags behind the video so i hear stuff almost 2 seconds after i see it happen on the screen. What could i do to fix this or at least just make the audio not so far off from the video? Thanks for the help

Dear deggie, hi, thanks for the tip as to what I should be looking for in the slot. However, sadly, it all looks to be fine (well, at least the same as my other iPod).
HR, thanks for the tip re opening the iPod, unfortunately, it is 15 months old, so well past the 12 month warranty expiry (ridiculous, isn't it?).
Here in Australia, we don't have access to Genius Bars and Apple Stores, just the local distributors, and they want $210 to repair/replace the iPod, which, frankly I find a bit rich, considering that it hasn't been mistreated in any way and the other iPod I have has been running fine for more than two years.
I get the feeling, judging by the many complaints on these forums regarding the problems that the gen 5 iPod being recognised and connecting to both Mac and Windows, that this cannot just be purely user error or maltreatment. However, I'm unsure as to what can be done to resolve them or get Apple to admit to there being a problem.
One of the things that confuses me, is that all the internal diagnostics (menu + select then select + back) including USB communication, all come back fine, when, as mentioned in an above post, it most patently is not. Anyone have any clues as to what this might be due to?
If, by some bizarre fluke, I manage to find a resolution to this problem (short of going and paying Apple $210), I'll post back here with it.
Again, thanks for the help, cheers, Peter

  • IPod Video/Audio problems

i have a 60gb video ipod and have converted seinfeld episodes off dvds. i used videora ipod converter to convert the video to H264 256kbps video and 96kbps audio. When i play any episode the video and audio will work for about 30 seconds, then it pauses fills the cache and the video starts playing again but without audio. if i fastforward or rewind the video and audio pick up again for 30 seconds until the process repeats. how do i fix this ANNOYING problem? thanks
      Windows XP Pro

I have just encountered the very same problem. I have a 60Gb iPod video and have spent days converting a lot of my videos (mostly Japanese Anime) to iPod. They all worked perfectly on last week. However, last night I started watching an episode and after about 30 seconds the video freezes. It starts again about 5 seconds later, but with no sound. If I rewind or fast forward a bit, the sound comes back, but it freezes again shortly after. I started to think "what have I done to the iPod since last week?". It was then that I remembered updating the firmware to 1.1. I put 2 and 2 together and thought "maybe other folk are having this problem too", so I decided to check the support page here.
I am far from happy about re-encoding over 250 episodes of Anime, so ideally, I want the ability to re-install 1.0 firmware on the iPod. Surely this must be possible! If anyone can provide a link to the 1.0 Updater or to more information on this subject... that would be great, cos right now, my iPod is pretty much... useless!

  • Ichat video/audio problem NetGear W6R64

hooking up without router... everything works... I know how to get into the netgear set-up... I know how to get to the Mac network/firewall setting... I just need the settings for the mac and the router... it has UPnP...

This issue is something Apple should solve and have it done with. Skype works fine both in video and audio mode regardless of what firewall/router/modem/network configuration one has set up. I have had the same problem with iChat AV when both audio and video connections cannot be established if I do not open all ports (basically enable DMZ (demilitarised zone) on my Linsys modem/router) for the local IP of the Mac I want to use iChat with. This highly annoying particularly if one uses more than one Mac for iChat. You can fiddle with openning ports as much as you like. If you have a stubborn modem it will be useless. When Skype people could do it, Apple should already have done it long time ago.

  • Import Sony HDD video/audio problems

I have tried to import video footage from a Sony Handycam DCR-SR82 hard drive camcorder into Premiere Pro CS3, but it only imports the video...no audio. It works fine if I import it into Premiere Pro 2. Thanks for any help you can provide. OS - Windows Vista. All updates to Premiere CS3 have been installed.

Here's the original message I read with the fix:
    There is a fix!!!!!
If you have Encore CS3 installed...just copy the file ad2ac3dec.dll from the Encore CS3 directory and paste it into the Premier Pro CS3 root directory. This will allo PPcs3 to accept mpeg files with the ac3 extention. If you already have files imported in your projects...you will have to remove those files and re-import them. So far there are no side effects to this process. Have fun all you damn sony camcoder owners.
    http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?128@@.3bc46794
It works brilliantly. Unfortunately, once you get that fixed you will find yourself with another problem...random red frames in your projects. We use SR-82s at work and I have a Sony SR-1. Both cameras' mpgs will give you the red frame problem in CS3.
As a workaround, you can convert your mpgs to avi or re-encode with h.264 codec before importing into CS3. That worked for me.

  • Video audio problem

I have been having trouble with the videos I have stored in iTunes. In itially, there was a problem with the image, but having searched the forums I was able to resolve the problem by deactivating the DivX option in Quicktime. However, now some (not all) of the files are playing in a foreign language - this did not use to be the case. I cannot seem to find a solution to this particular problem, and I was wondering if there was anyone out there that might know of one?
    Thanks

If you are not using RealPlayer then what program or plugin are you using?  WMP?  If you are using WMP then go to Tools, Options and then the Performance TAB.  You will see a setting for buffering content.
That pausing with a circle is showing that the program is waiting for the sound buffer to fill again.

  • IChat video/audio problems error 8

    Hi Guys,
I have posted this on a different thread, but thought I would post it here also as is Leopard specific.
Both my Girlfriend and I bought Macs in the last 3 months and both have Leopard and the new iChat. Or current setting are below after reading a few threads, but still no avail!!
    Our MacBook settings
    QT is set at 1.5Mbps
    iChat Bandwidth Limit = None
iChat Server = 443 with SSL ticked
Leopard Firewall = Set access for specific = iChat = Allow incoming connections
I have had the video working before with other friends but it seems to be finding it difficult with hers. I asked what router she was using, and to be honest it sounds pretty prehistoric...details below
Scientific Atlanta by CISCO, EPC2100R2 CABLE MODEM
    Her ISP is Virgin
I dont believe this is a firewall issue, as I hear the new Leopard is pretty advanced with this, and we both have it as a specific application in our Firewalls settings.
I dont believe this is a port problem as apparently as Leopard figures this information for you, and you are unable to add/open ports behind the firewall etc.
I have posted this before and apologies for posting the same error again. Its good to see Im not the only person having issues.
    Cheers
    Ben

  • 30 GB Ipod Video audio problems

I have had my 30 gb Ipod since Christmas 2005 and a couple of weeks ago it started acting funny. I started getting alot of static in my headphones at first and, then starting yesterday I get no sound at all. I have tried several pairs of headphones and still no sound. I have also tried playing my ipod in my ihome alarm clock dock and still get no sound. I even restored my Ipod but nothing seems to help. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Looks like it may be an issue that requires service.
You can arrange online service here.

Or if an Apple store is near you, take it there and have them check your iPod.

  • 'Source play' and 'audio-video sync' problems with PE8 on fast WIN7 64 bit computer

I am transferring Hi8 videos, about 2 hours long, to my WIN7 64 bit computer with PE8.  [Dell Mobile Precision M4400 Computer Workstation (Intel Core 2 Duo T9900 500GB/4GB); NVIDIA Quadro FX 770M, 512MB] I seem to have several problems:
First, after importing the file (.avi), I get a message about ‘dropped frames.’
Secondly, when I try to play the video in the source monitor, the audio plays but the video doesn’t; it only shows the first frame [this is after waiting until the video is ?recognized? ]   I can use the shift-arrow key and see that the video is there.
Thirdly, I can play the .avi file in other players, e.g., avidemux or PE pro CS5 on another computer.  There, I see that the audio and video are not in sync; the audio can be up to 300 ms ahead of the video (as determined using avidemux).
    Questions:
    1.  Why doesn’t the source monitor play the video? Is this a problem with PE8 (latest update as of 3 March 2011) on aWIN7 64 bit computer (intel duo core. 3 GHz).
    2. Is the audio-video sync problem the result of the ‘dropped frames?’ How can PE8 correct this? Avoid this? Or, is it coincidence?

"I think you're telling me you're using a backwards compatible Digital8  camcorder to capture your video as DV-AVIs. Is that right?" YES
"Are you using  Premiere Elements to do this capturing?" YES, AS ABOVE PE8
"Go to the File menu and select Properties. It should show a standard DV codec being used for your video and audio."
WMP v12 is dumb. Under properties, media, it says 'video.'  However, avidemux gave me the information state above: video -- Codec 4CC: dvsd, frame rate: 29.971 fps; audio -- codec: PCM, channels: Stereo, frequency: 48 kHz.
    So, back to the Questions:

  • Embedded Video Audio Sync Problem

I have been exporting Flash Video from Adobe Premiere
Elements 3.0. I import the .FLV into Flash 8 as embedded video. The
published .SWF works fine, audio and video start in sync and stay
in sync, but about 3/4 through the video, audio stops.
This occurs no matter how short or long the exported clip.
I did my best searching through these forums, looking for an
answer to this issue, but have had no success.

Do you need to embed the FLV file in the SWF file? I would
recommend playing the FLV as an external file. If you need to use
embedded video, make sure the frame rates are identical (SWF and
FLV). I can't remember if Premiere Elements enables you to output
with Raw audio for FLV files, but Flash 8 (or CS3) will recompress
an embedded video's audio track on publish/export--so, try to use
Raw if you can to avoid recompression. This might have something to
do with your problem too, the recompression of the MP3 audio track
in your original FLV when re-exporting as embedded video in the
SWF. (Your audio stream setttings in the Publish Settings control
the quality/recompression of your FLV output when embedded in the
    SWF.)

  • Weird audio problems with Motion when exporting quicktime videos

I have a Motion project with 2 video clips of people talking. When I create a RAM preview everything plays back fine. When I export a quicktime, the first second or so of each video clip (within the quicktime) have no audio. I've adjusted the in and out of each clip in Motion but I don't think that would make the audio disappear on export. Thinking it was just a bad export, I tried just exporting the audio and the same thing happens.
    Here's what i'm using:
    Mac Pro dual 3.0 Xeon
    10 gigs of RAM
    Motion 2.1.2

    hi,
motion 2 had some odd audio problems that surfaced now and then. The only way round it was to bring the clip into FCP and edit the audio in there, and then export from fcp.
Motion 3 might have fixed this. Not sure havent had the problem for some time, since I make sure all finnishing is done in FCP.
    hope this helps

  • Synching audio problem with MPEG-4 video in QuickTime

    Hello,
I’m having a problem with MPEG-4 video file I created with TechSmith Camtasia (6.0.1).
Problem: The audio does not sync up with the video when played with Apple QuickTime 7.6 (latest build) in Windows Vista. The longer the video plays the more out of sync the audio is. Here's where it gets interesting:
When I play the file using Adobe Media Player or Adobe Flash Player (plug-in in Internet Explorer), the video and audio sync up and all is good.
Is there a problem with how Quicktime decompresses this type of file?
Does anyone have any idea what is happening?
    Thanks,
    Leo

If I remember well, N70 plays mp4 video without problems. Try resizing during encoding to 176 x 144 and reducing frame rate to 15 frames per second. Also try to keep data rate below 200 kb/s. If you are using MediaCoder do not go with default settings for Nokia N70, they are too optimistic.

I have an audio problem that when ever I use my Firefox web browser it makes a sharp audible sound similar to a video game gun shot sound effect when ever I go into a new web page? I change to a new site or page a page on a site, I get an audible gunshot ping trpe sound? It happens almost every time. Its very annoying and is driving me nuts???
Any body out there had this happen also or know how to diagnose and fix this type of problem? I would hate to have to delete my whole Firefox program and have to start over again. If that is the case I will probably just scrap it and go on to try Google Chrome instead. I already have GC partially set up. I really have liked Firefox up to this point. I know add ons can cause problems at times but I haven't added anything new lately and this just started happening?

  • MSI VOX Audio / Video Sinc problem

    Hi All.
Last week i bought a VOX TV Tuner.  Nice device works well except for what i want it for.
When I try to cpature at Full PAL DVD resolution I get audio / video sinc problems.  The audio is usually ahead of the video.  Half PAL DVD or below  it's fine.
I suspect it is the basic design of the box that is the trouble.  Having the audio feed to the sound card rather than than in the USB2 feed has been a no no ever since the problem was discovered back in the USB 1 days.  USB2 is capable of 400Megbits..
However I contacted another user who has no problems and says there is a patch for Direct x PAL video capture.  Does any one know of this patch or has any one had the same problem as I have??
This device seems so new that there is no info on the net about it..
    TIA.
