Video breaking up in MP4 and SWF output

Hi,
I just started having a new problem in Captivate 6 (64 bit) output.  I do final output to MP4, but output to SWF while I am testing. The problem has appeard in both.
The video breaks up in certain places, and I see random colors, blocks, and partial after images from previous slides.
I first saw this last week after getting a fatal error that caused Captivate to shut down. The error came when I tried to convert typing to a text animation.  I assumed the video problem was due to file corruption affecting certain slides. I was able to fix it by replacing these slides and the output looked okay.
Today, I saw the same issue appear in an MP4 generated by a different Captivate project. I set the Preferences > 'SWF size and Quality' to High and removed the SWF compression. This improved but did not fix the problem.
I thought it might be my video driver, so I copied the project to a different computer (computer 2)  and re-published it.  The MP4 looked fine. I then viewed the new MP4 on the original computer (computer 1)  and again, it shows clean. I tried viewing the problem MP4 on computer 2, and it ALSO looks fine.
I don't think it's the video driver on computer 1, since I haven't seen the issue with other MP4 that I am testing randomly.  Is it possible the Captive instance on computer 1 is corrupted?  Should I reinstall it?  Other thoughts?
Thanks very much.

  • Exit button not working Captivate 7 output to HTML5 and SWF

I have several courses developed in Cp 6.5 that do not have this issue and are currently running on Taleo LMS.
I've built a test course with 6 (mostly blank) slides, including two quiz questions. On the final slide I have placed a Finish Course button with On Success: Exit action. The project end options are set to close project and I've included an On Exit: Exit action on the final slide. The Finish Course button successfully closes the browser window in Preview in Browser (IE9) and Preview HTML5 output modes.
I then published the course to both HTML5 and SWF output formats with scalable HTML selected. Once I uploaded the course to the LMS and tested it, the Finish Course button does not close the browser window. I've tested in IE9, Firefox, and iPad, and it doesn't work on any of these. I've also tried including the built in exit button on the playbar, and it doesn't close the window either. At the final slide, after clicking the Finish Course button, the slide fades to white and then stops.
The LMS reports that the course is complete; I thought maybe it was an issue with the settings in the LMS course, however I have several other courses that were developed in Cp 6.5, published to the same LMS with the same "Exit" button on the final slide, and I have mirrored every course setting that has worked in the past.
Any suggestions as to what could be keeping the window from closing?
    Thanks,
    PV

Why does there need to be a button used now when in CP 6 and 6.5 it worked seamlessly? Will this be fixed by Adobe and when?

  • Video output and image output for the iphone4

    Hey you guys.
I have a few newbie questions for you iphone gurus.
1st : is it true that even though the iphone 4 displays in 720 res, it will only output at 480 res?
Reason i ask is that when i watch streamed movies on my TV, through my iphone from Netflix, it looks slightly less sharp/clear then when i watch it on the iphone itself.
2nd : When i want to show people pictures i took with my iphone on my TV. I goto the pictures area in the iphone and load the picture. But it does not display on my TV unless i start the slide show. But if i just want to look at one picture, it does not display.
    Strange
    thanks you guys

    You're welcome.

Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format.
And it looks like I was mistaken on the output supported when using the Apple Composite AV Cable for a connection to a TV.
Support for 1024 by 768 pixels with Dock Connector to VGA Adapter; 576p and 480p with Apple Component AV Cable; 576i and 480i with Apple Composite AV Cable (cables sold separately).
Looks like the iPhone supports up to 576p/i and 480p/i when using the composite cable connected to a TV.

  • How to split Large mp4 and AVI video files to smaller scenes

    Hi All
I’ve been looking into how to cut-up large files ready for import into CS4. So far all I can find are the usual suspects that only lets you cut a section from a file. Dose anyone use any software that enables you to split a large video file (MP4, AVI and so on) into say 20 sections all in one hit?
I do a lot of HD onboard cams, so the video is set to fire and only shut off when the run has finished. I then end up with about 60 percent of the file (in diferent parts) I need to trash.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated indeed!

Maybe, but maybe not. I use DigitalMedia Converter to convert to DV-AVI Type II's (I'm only doing SD), and it has a Split function. However, I have never used that, so do not know how well it might work for your needs, if at all. I just do not know. I believe that Deskshare has a user forum, and that might be a good place to try, after you've looked down their FAQ's.

There are 3rd party utilities available that "rip" content into a compatible format - most include an iPod and/or iPhone format selection. If a video plays in iTunes, iTunes includes an option to convert a selection for iPod/iPhone.

  • How to place local mp4 and ogg video in Muse?

I have been using Flash to create interactive training including FLV over the web. Now that FLV is dead on the web. I wanted to use Muse but my customer requires video clips to be on his business server. Muse appears to only support uTube like video? Is there a work around to play local mp4 and ogg video by adding HTML code into Muse?
    JU in Chelan

There is a native audio and video players embeded here >>
    http://jforbes.us/test/index.html
I coded the HTML in Dreamweaver, Inserted it into Muse, Exported to HTML, FTPed to host.
At first it didn't play because I hadn't uploaded the media files. Once that was done - It seems to work.
Excuse the An animation at the top of page. I just used an existing Muse test page to test your idea.

  • How to export a Proxy video in MP4 and H.264

What's Proxy file, how does it look like? I know how to export mp4 and compress it with H.264, but what else should be included to make it a Proxy file from FCP6?
    Thanks,
    ZM

A "proxy" is just a lower resolution video file. It can be an MP4, or H.264, or any other flavor of Qt that is lower resolution than the master file. A timecode window burn in would be helpful.
www.imagineproducts.com has a great application that does this for you...automated. ProxieMill will make proxies from either captured media, or P2 cards...VERY useful

  • In Captivate 4 swf output, box borders break up. How can I prevent that?

I'm working in Captivate 4. If I capture a screen that includes a box with a thin border, the border sometimes breaks up in the published swf. Parts of the border are missing, and lines display where they shouldn't. (See included image.) Anyone know how I can prevent that?
    -Stuart

I'd suggest going into Edit - Preferences - SWF Size and Quality.  Try de-selecting the Advanced project compression check box.
    Then re-publish.

It sounds like you have assigned the primary click on the trackpad to something else, perhaps a gesture.
Use your mouse, login and then open the Trackpad preference pane and see how you have the interface configured.
Oh and you can have both the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad powered up and working at the same time. No need to keep moving batteries around.

    Hello Achates:
I did not read the rather long post. If you wish to reinstall OS X 10.4, use your software install DVD. Backup is essential. To minimize your risk, I would use an archive and install:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
In that way, you will have a fresh copy of OS X and your current settings will be preserved.
Incidentally, I do not agree that the printer problem is best solved by reinstalling OS X. I have had HP printers for sometime and, on one occasion, had difficulty after an upgrade. HP technical support walked me through uninstalling all traces of the HP driver and then reinstalling.

Is this a webpage that contains a link to a flv file? Please post a link to the page and tell us which link(s) are the problem flv files or else post a link to the .flv file itself.
Alternately, click on one of the sample FLV File links on this page and tell us exactly what happens:
    http://www.mediacollege.com/adobe/flash/video/tutorial/example-flv.html
It might also help if you post the exact error message, including the path to the flv file.
    '''Note:'''
Depending on how you have Firefox set up, clicking on a FLV File link will either save the FLV file to your computer or Firefox may open it automatically in an external application right after downloading (Firefox may ask you first). Firefox itself can't play FLV files so you need a "helper" application (or a plugin for flv files, if ther is one. You can see if Firefox is already set up to download or open FLV files by going to Firefox Preferences and looking in the Applications list. Find the FLV file type in the list and, if the action is "Open with", it should show the application that can play FLV files (e.g., VLC Media Player or Perian). See [[Managing filetypes]] for more information.
