Video call by network

Hi,
I have just one question, i just bought the Iphone 4, my question: is it possible to use facetime by using the 3G or edge network. If not why? and is it possible to do video calling without Wi-FI.
Thanks

No
If not why?
Because the FaceTime app is written to use internet ONLY rather than any kind of cellular connection.
and is it possible to do video calling without Wi-FI.
*On iPhone*, these can do it.
Skype: http://tinyurl.com/2dv4pfu
Tango: http://tango.me/
Fring: http://www.fring.com/
*On Mac with Snow Leopard*, Facetime beta http://www.apple.com/mac/facetime/
(and many other apps) can connect video without wi-fi, but FaceTime still is internet only.
Thanks
You're welcome.

  • Who has the lowest Video Call rates!

Guys, this isn't about support, but as this is a DISCUSSION forum, I thought of starting this topic. Which network has the lowest video call rates? Please tell about the network (ie, UMTS or HSPA) and state the charges in US Dollars.
    I'll start.
In Sri Lanka, there are two 3G operators and the charges are as following.
1.Dialog Telekom-UMTS- Video Calls within network: 5 rupees ( USD 0.04) per minute
To other networks: 7 rupees (0.05USD) per minute
IDD Video Calls: Differs according to country. Charges 20 rupees (0.20USD) to 90 rupees (0.85USD) higher than voice IDD rates per minute
    2. Mobitel-HSPA-7.2Mbps downlink
Within network: 2 rupees (nearly 0.002USD) per minute
To other networks: 5 rupees (0.004USD) per minute.
Video Messages: 1 rupee (less than 0.001USD) per message.
These are prepaid charges only. Post paid/ contract charges are lower than these.Message Edited by kflyer on 13-Dec-200703:29 AM

    Dreaming of a 5320XpressMusic - 128MB RAM makes up for the 2MP cam !

If you are not fussy, there are literally thousands of straight up HTML templates you could easily buy if you wanted to focus heavily on video, you could then so minor changes to the template to fit with BC, like saving of form data etc. It just depends besides video what other functions you require.

I don't know why Lumia 920 only making trouble and also one more thing there no 3G or 4G video calling option in the mobile. So could you please help me regarding this issues.

Are you having problems connecting to all wifi's or just this one? If just this one, you could try updating the router fimware.
Your Lumia supports video calling using Skype.

  • Video Call Network Crashes

Hello, I've tried searching for an answer for this, but have not found one that works. Each time I do a video call (single or group) my wifi will crash in a random amount of time, making me shut down my computer just to get a signal back. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling twice. My computer and drivers are fully updated. I have unchecked uPnP, and switched ports. I've tried this on two different adapters, one running at 150 Mbps and another at 300 Mbps. Even tried using a different port. My download speed is 28.35 Mbps, and my Upload is 1.89 Mbps. The webcam I'm using is a Logitech HD Webcam C270. The adapters are Netgear n600 (150) and Bolse n600, each fully updated. If someone could please answer me with a solution or idea, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It's more than likely due to issues with your USB being overloaded.  You should ensure your USB video camera and network adapter are as far apart as possible USB jack-wise.  You might also consider using a USB powered hub for a at least one of the devices to see if that extra layer (device and power) resolve the instability.  Moving closer to your access point can help as well.  If you connection is intermittent, unstable or overworking just to maintain the connection under load then that could be a possible problem as well.

  • Suggestion: Direct Video Call using 3G network.

I found there is not Direct Video Call option in any Android version by default Like it is in iPhone and Symbian phones, we can do a Video Call directly using the 3G network by dialing the number like we dial it for a normal call. Samsung and some HTC phones have implemented this in their andriod phones. I want to suggest please implement this Video calling feature in Sony Xperia phones. Note: I am not talking about Video call using any Video Calling App like skype or hangout or tango etc. I am talking about direct 3G network Video Call by dialing the number. So better people avoid replying to the post with useless replies

You might be right at your place, many people may not need it because there are many free video calling apps in google play. But if you believe me, there are still some people here in our region, they do not know how to use google play or a google ID, and if they do not know what is google play how they will download an app for a video call.many people are backword here, some of them even do not know how to use these video call APPS. The purpose of my this suggestion is for those people who are not able to download and who are not able to use these video callings apps. if this features enables, they can just make a video call like a normal call only network data charges apply and that is it. I have also requested the same feature to android.

  • We want Video Call on our 3G network.

Video Call on on 3G network not Gtalk, Gtalk should have been a bonus. Why Nokia doesnt come forward about this issue because they promised on PR1.2 bt nothing, I reaaly dont undestand why Nokia is doin this,.
Can someone from Nokia Developers take this into consideration. will it ever work???
Awaiting for the developer to answer this.

If you want an answer from a developer please ask your question on the developers forum.

hi i m in qatar and i dont find facetime or video calling in my iphone4. i have contacted network provider they say to contact apple. i am feeling ashamed of keeping this expensive mobile without such simple facility. hope wil be adressed

    I'm not missing anything.
"My Ipad was purchased in the US.  All 3 iphones are factory unlocked by apple, the 4 was purchased at Duty Free in the Airport, the 4s from the US and the Iphone 5 was purchased in Qatar yesterday, factory unlocked by apple brought in from the UK.  All products are bought from official sources and are not jailbroken devices."
Please explain how an iPad purchased by you in the US was intended TO BE SOLD BY APPLE IN QATAR, and the same for an iPhone BROUGHT IN FROM THE UK. iOS devices intended to be sold by Apple in Qatar are shipped by Apple direct to Qatar - direct to an official carrier or carriers or an official retailer if there are any there.
I also provided this, WHICH YOU OBVIOUSLY MISSED.
Since your iOS devices were intended for sale by Apple in a country where FaceTime isn't restricted by the government, you had and should have access to FaceTime on those iOS devices.
If not after iOS 6 was installed, call AppleCare or whichever official retailer or carrier in the country handles service for and troubleshooting for iOS devices.

  • Video Call between 2 IP Network

    Hello,
I want to establish Video Calls between 2 independant IP Telephony network, one with a CUCM 6.1, amd the other one with A Call manager system. I have a Cisco 2811 on the Call Manager side, who have a IP Public adress.
The Voice Call is working with a H323 Trunk between the Call Manager Express, who have a public Ip adress too, and the Cisco 2811.
The Video Call is not working. I Have put the IOS to configure this 2811 as a Border Element (CUBE), put I don't have any licenses?
Is it necessary to have this licenses to function the Video Calls?
Is there some special commands to perform the video call?
Thanks in advance for your help?
    Regards,

    Hi,
I've tried to use a CCME and a CUCM6 using H323 trunk, inside a LAN (1000Mbps) but there is no video.
The option "Retry Video Call as Audio " is ON
    Video Capabilities is Enabled
In the Region configuration of the CCM6, the video bandwitdh is 384.
But there is no video, just voice only.
    ====
In the CCME, the conf is :
    dial-peer voice 201 voip
    destination-pattern 8...
    video codec h263+
    session target ipv4:192.168.0.6
    dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric
    codec g711ulaw
    ====
Can you explain the reason why there is no video?
    Best regards,

  • If the DroidX had a front camera how easy would it be to video call with Skype or Fringe?

Apparently EVO with Sprint you can video conference with Fringe but is this something that has to been done through WIFI?  I was ready to upgrade to the DroidX but I am wondering if I should hold off for the front camera.  I love using Skype video and it would be amazing to have this feature on the phone if it is an easy thing to do.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone is knowledgable about this information.
    Thank you!

Since that is a hypothetical situation (Droid X front camera), there is no real way to even guess how the carrier or manufacture would implement this feature because if you look at how other devices use this feature you notice that they are not implementing this feature the same way.  Also in regards to the EVO video calls is across the 4G network but from what I have read they have been experiencing a lot of connection issues do to the network being over whelmed (which isnt a surprise)...

  • IPhone Jabber Client Video Calls Unavailable

I'm having trouble getting my iPhone to make video calls.  I can make video calls via J4W with the same CUCM/IM-P cluster, and my iPhone Jabber client is having no problem getting IMs, presence information, or making standard voice calls, but when I go to "Settings - Audio and Video", it simply has a message that says "Video is currently unavailable"
The "Dual-Mode for iPhone" device in CUCM has video calling enabled.  What other settings could I be missing?

    You would want to get this tested in iPhone 4s and above. check this portion of the document;

  • Lync 2013 Mobility Client - Video Call Issue (Everything Else works).

    Hey Technet’ies,
I have been struggling for a couple of weeks now to resolve one of the final issues with a Migration/Upgrade Project on Lync Server 2013.
I have nearly every Lync Client Scenario working well except the Mobility Client (outside of the domain) which cannot successfully complete a Video
Call to a Windows Desktop Client (inside the domain) – the toast pops up, but when we click accept - it just times out after 15 seconds
    K
    The strange thing is every other Video Call scenario works;
    Mobility Client (Outside Domain)
    àWindows Desktop Client (Inside Domain)
    = Unsuccessful
    Mobility Client (Inside Domain)
à Windows Desktop Client (Inside Domain) = Successful
    Mobility Client (Inside Domain)
à Windows Desktop Client (Outside Domain) = Successful
    Mobility Client (Outside Domain)
à Windows Desktop Client (Outside Domain) = Successful
    Mobility Client (Inside Domain)
à Mac Desktop Client (Inside Domain) = Successful
    Mobility Client (Inside Domain)
à Mac Desktop Client (Outside Domain) = Successful
    Mobility Client (Outside Domain)

    Mobility Client (Outside Domain)
à Mac Desktop Client (Inside Domain) = Successful
    Mobility Client (All Scenarios)
à Mobility Client (All Scenarios) = Successful
    Our setup is pretty standard;
All OS servers are Win Server 2012 R2
    Lync 2013 Standard FE Server
    Lync 2013 Edge Server
Reverse Proxy IIS AAR (Also Win Server 20012 R2)
Lync 2013 Desktop Clients, Lync 2011 Mac Clients, IOS and Android Mobility Clients – all latest versions.
External NAT (via Cisco Routers ACL’s)
Internal Windows Firewall Currently off on all Servers
All Certs / DNS Configured as per Technet Recommendation
    I have reviewed / analysed a number of log/trace files – looking for some/any information on the problem;
    Mobility Client (cmlogX.log)
Windows Desktop Client (*.etl) / Microsoft Message Analyzer
    Lync 2013 Server (CSController)
With all my looking I could not make out an error except a timeout (15 seconds) on the Mobility Client log (which I currently can’t find).
Clearly we are missing something and I have gone up and down our implementation a number of times, the only semi-unknown is our old 2010 Pool / Central Management Server (which is currently pretty much redundant but the majority of users still on).
I would really appreciate any feedback anyone can provide or any insight anyone may have on this challenge.
    Thanks in advance, Alex.
    Alex

    Hi Andrew,
    Thanks for the quick contact!!
    Sorry - typo in my post, I have now corrected it;
    Mobility
    Client (Outside Domain) àWindows
Desktop Client (Inside Domain) = Unsuccessful
So I completely missed that blog post of yours (out of the 100's I have read) and you are the first person to clearly say (in simple terms) to point the lyncweb.contso.com to the public IP address on my internal DNS, I have just made that change and see
if it will correct the issue - will wait for replication.
Also I am running IIS / AAR as Reverse Proxy (not ISA) and had the Internal DNS Host A of lyncweb.contso.com and lyncdiscover.contso.com point back to my Reverse Proxy Internal NIC (i.e. 10.1.1.32) as the External NIC is isolated on in the Perimeter Network,
    is this correct?
So it now goes like this
    *Inside Domain*
    lyncdiscover.contson.com --> 10.1.1.32 (Reverse Proxy Internal Nic) --> 10.1.1.26 (Front End Server)
lyncweb.contson.com --> 201.183.0.1 (Reverse Proxy External Nic - Public IP) --> 10.1.2.16 (Reverse Proxy External Nic) --> 10.1.1.26 (Front End Server)
Does this make any sense, I know ISA and IIS/AAR are pretty much interchangeable.
Thanks again Andrew and look forward to any feedback,
    Alex.

How i can fix this problem?
Note that: this summer I have changed my logic board to a new one and since then i never had any problem. The only this is that i'm having a warning for service battery which i think is not the issue.

Remove those kernel extensions and test again. They are not part of Mac OS X, you added them.
If you do not know how to remove them, contact the manufacturer.
If you still cannot figure it out, visit the genius bar (FREE with appointment).
    They will:
make sure you have adequate Backups (which is two copies for this exercise).
erase your hard drive (which deletes everything and has no way to get it back, hence the two Backups).
Re-Install Mac OS X from original sources.
    Restore your user files.
If that stops the panics, the problem was in the extensions you added.

  • Skype Video Call

J just want to say that Video Call in Windows Live Mesenger (MSN) is far more stable than in Skype, always problemes with the connection.

I guess core circuit switched network here is only used to establish the call, once connected the remaining video call communciation will be purely IP based?

No, I did not try this internationally.
I'm afraid it will not work, because part of the communication path between parties on different countries is made over the internet, and not over a circuit switched connection.
