Video calls through Skype is supported by Nokia Lumia 620 and other WP8 Lumia phones. But this is only possible if the person you want to video call is also using Skype application on his/her phone.

Enable Video Call for Skype

I have just tried to do a video call to a Skype account, but the video doesn't show. I can't see my contact and they can't see me.
All i get is a square with an avatar in it. How do I enable video calls for Skype so that we can both see each other?
I do have the new firmware update too.

here you go.
be sure you are set up first:
open your contact that you want to call. be sure that it has a skype address already saved. it will look like this:
it will start to initiate the call. once picked up, then it will look like this. tap on the menu on top:
a drop down menu will show. inititiate the video ability:
then it will show horizontally split with the options on the right and thier picture or camera image on the left. tap on camera...after a few seconds, you will kick in. this will work n900-any pc, and n900-n900.....over wifi, and over the tmobile network.

To make sure you don’t miss out on the latest updates, on the start screen, swipe left, tap Settings > phone update, and make sure the "Tell me when updates are available for my phone" check box is ticked.

I have nokia c5-00-2 with 5MP camera. I'm looking for a skype version with video call option.. As one of my friend had it when he was in Suadi Arabia and used to call me video chat from his c5. Skype for Symbian has been discontinued and stopped working. Since the Nokia C5 works with Symbian S60 you won't be able to use Skype any longer. Please read this:

This site shows that the update is avaiable for my model but when i check in Phone Update in my phone it is not showing any update available for my phone. Please let me know when the update be available for my phone.

If your device is having FW version 1030.6407.1308.0001 , then it won't show update notification (I don't know why).
On the other hand, If you got an FW version 1030.6407.1308.0002, your phone will show the amber update notification if you check it through phone updates (in settings menu).
There is a way to get around this:
Get to Nokia Care and update to FW version 1030.6407.1308.0002 or amber FW 3046.0000.1329.2001

Firmware update 1308.0001 for lumia 620 rollout

i would like to know what the regional distribution order is for lumia firmware updates. I have a lumia 620 from hongkong and i live in australia. no update so far . and i make sure to check like twice a day
has anyone in australia or in any other region received the 1308.001, or the latest ones for the 820 and 920 that are supposed to come in the same rollout ? they have all been anounced mid-march.
an official statement about this would be great as well.

What was announced was that the now shipping (from manufacturing) devices have the new firmware and an OTA update would start at a future date. Since there have been no further announcements it would be safe to assume the OTA update has not started yet.
There is no need to 'check multiple times a day' you will get a notification on the phone when the update becomes available to you.

Hi,
I just purchased a Panasonic LED with the Skype Webcam plus bought a Skype Premium account for group video calling but cannot figure out how to set up a group video call. Can someone assist? Normal 1 to 1 works fine.
Does the Skype TV app have the ability to group video call? If not, will there be an update coming out as its pretty useless to me unless we have this feature. So if there is an update coming out do we know time frames?

However, there are some alternative options we are also exploring which could potentially support Group Calling on the current generation of TVs.

Do you mean like a clear stick on screen protector? Don't think anyone uses them because they degrade the quality of the photographs taken through them. What you could do is to get a silicon case which should provide some protection to the lens by creating a recess for it.
