Video calling by Nokia 701

No video calling by nokia 701. Skype, oovoo, nb, tamgo no video calling application. But why?

Hi,
It will be in a Browser on a Mac and involve a Video Plugin (most likely Flash).
GoogleTalk in browser also involves a Plugin.
It used to be Flash in the very beginning but then Google produced their Own - which at times has been known to clash with the Flash one
However Mac to Mac with Facebook will allow you to both use Messages.
Facebook's Chat ID is a Jabber ID and added as such (Other in Mavericks).
Google Talk is also a Jabber Server and Messages has a separate account option for that.
Messages can Video chat, Mac to Mac over either the AIM service (AIM and Apple Issued IDs) or over Jabber (those listed above or other Jabber server IDs)
What Messages cannot do is Video (or Audio) Chat to someone logged in via a Bowser to Google of Facebook or using a specific app (there was an GoogleTalk for PC app at one stage).

if you choose a contact and you're offered the option to video call it will work (most Nokia phones from the last few years can make video calls over 3G) but using a mirror may not be the best of experiences ? You would at least see the person at the other end , it's not a feature I use personally but have tried it and it works fine as long as you have a decent 3G signal

I have nokia c5-00-2 with 5MP camera. I'm looking for a skype version with video call option.. As one of my friend had it when he was in Suadi Arabia and used to call me video chat from his c5. Skype for Symbian has been discontinued and stopped working. Since the Nokia C5 works with Symbian S60 you won't be able to use Skype any longer. Please read this:

Tango Video calls on Nokia Belle

When will Nokia make Tango or any other video calls application available on Nokia Belle mobiles, such appliocation are very imoprtant to have, and Nokia should invite the developers to make such applications compatible with our Nokia latest mobiles.

Yes, after Belle, fring dont work and Skype never had video. Tango would be perfect.

Video calling on nokia N95

I am using the Nokia N95 on a Canadian network,Fido/Rogers. I have the 3g service activated,but when i try to make a video call it says network not supported.
I have another phone brand and it works fine,does not work with the N95

If you have an original N95, then it does not support the North American WCDMA (3G) frequencies and thus cannot do video calls in North America.
For that, you'd need the recently released N95 for North America.

Skype video calls on Nokia E7-00 Symbian Belle

Please advise if video calling will be available in the future on Symbian Belle phones.
Belle is so much faster and works fine for Mobile video phone calls.
My friends overseas wish to skype video call me when I am out and about.

Video call is not available on Skype for Nokia Belle (I really don’t know why and also would like to know why it is not working).
You can download Skype either by launching Nokia Store (Search for Skype) OR from http://www.skype.com/m.

Hello Everyone,
I have been happily using N900 for Skype video calling.
When I first received my phone I was told by my phone company that N900 supports video calling without using Skype(using mobile numbers to other compatible phones via the 3G network)
My partner also has a N900 and is not able to make Video Calling either, where when we both had an E72 we had no problems at all.
I called Nokia 2 months ago and they said that in Australia, they will have video calling to mobile numbers very soon for the N900. Can anyone at Nokia tell me when this is happening? This was one of the main reasons I bought the N900 as it is promoted to have video calling on 3G as well as Internet (Skype or other).
I am keen to use video calling as I work with clients who don't necessarily have Skype, but use video calling nonetheless.
Awaiting Nokia's response.

iPhone 4 doesn't have video calling like you think. It lets you video call other people with an iPhone 4, and only on wifi.
I imagine it isn't included because not many people use it, it's expensive and quite tedious. With Skype, it's free.

Welcome to the Nokia discussion boards!
You can actually download Skype here from the Nokia store and installing either through Nokia Suite, or by sending an SMS to your device. You will need to have a Nokia store account to download applications from there.

hi any chance of a video call program like skype working on the E7 ? in the making or not anytime soon ?

Hi I am also disappointed with the E7. Even with 2 cameras it doesnt seem able to support video calls (at least on skype) I've never tried a videocall with a real phone call actually. However if you ever get a chance I would suggest the Nokia N900 (I had it for 1 year and a half): It supports skype video calls and its perfect!!!! I used it all the time . Unfortunately it broke during my vacation and I sent it to the nokia care center but it couldnt be repaired so they gave me the nokia e7 in exchange. better than nothing but no comparison with the n900. If ur looking for skype video calls the NOKIA N900 is the way to go !!!!

Video calling e71

Hi, can I video call form my e71 to my PC (or mac). I have downloaded Skype and Fring and tried to call myself from Mac but no video options are available. The instructions for Fring suggest you just opt for video call - but it;'s not there. Searched on the net and a lot of people say they are doing it - like it isn't an issue. Wondering if it could be an 02 thing? Any help would be appreciated

I have been scouring the web for solutions to this problem.
However, it would appear that : Skype does not allow video calls on Nokia E71 !!
I have even posted on the Skype forum itself. It's amazing how many people have asked the same question.
Surprisingly, there have been NO responses. Which leads one to conclude that Nokia E71 is out of luck, where skype is concerned !!
You can only make voice calls. No video.

Nokia 701 call screen lock feature?

Hi nokia community,
was wondering if there is call screen lock feature in nokia belle? Because i couldn't find it any where in my nokia 701, even there is no option to edit the normal lock screen or button?
Why there are bugs and such small and important features are missing in nokia's belle OS?
Please help me feel like i'm using a smartphone.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hmm..I am not sure..call nokia care in your country.
I am not having anything to complain about regarding how my 701 behaves with incoming calls or things about "lock screen"..sorry.
PS Try out "Nokia sleeping screen" for nice "lock screen" features when phone is asleep..Nokia store..

Nokia 500 video calling problem

Hello Nokia..
I had just bought Nokia 500 mobile. As shown in advertisement & specificatio shown on website, there is 3g supported phone. But lake is there is no video call feature. I spent around 10K for this phone but no video call feature. I know it has no front camera but I have 6233 3g phone. It has main camera only yet it support video calling and I already doing this. Then why this option is not available with this phone.
I feel like cheated by nokia.
Can Nokia reply my thread with genuine reason and care like genuine customer.?

The fact is you should have asked the question if the 500 was capable of video calling before you bought the phone. There is absolutely nothing anyone can help you with here and reading the specifications page makes no mention of video calling so that should have given you an idea that it's not supported.
