Video Calling over 3G

Hello All,
Is'nt there Video Calling Facility on Iphone 4?
I know there is FaceTime which is limited to only Wifi, what about 3G? Can I make a Video (Not Facetime) over 3G?

FaceTime is the only video chat feature that is included with the iPhone, so you will need to look to other developers. Skype is perhaps the most commonly-used alternative.
Note, though, that your cell carrier may put limits or restrictions on use of such services, and even if they don't, video calling can use up quite a bit of bandwidth which can quickly exhaust your allocation if your carrier puts a cap on the data connection provided in your plan.

After updating to OS 10.3.1.1565 for my BB Passport voice/video calling over BBM is no
longer available. I CANNOT MAKE VOICE OR VIDEO CALLS OVER BBM neither I CAN RECEIVE CALLS
OVER BBM. I do use voice calling over bbm on a daily basis and I feel like I am now without
my phone!
I did update ALL the application offered for the update. Right now there are NO applications
available for the update - all are up-to-date.
BB World indicates I use BBM 10.6.4.10. I did REFRESH BB World with no changes. Yet NO UPDATES
are offered.
When I select the BBM application in BB World among the list of Installed application it
says in red color "Unavailable for this device".
I see some use BBM 10.6.5.10. Are there troubles with voice/video calling over BBM for
10.6.5.10 & OS 10.3.1.1565?
Maybe the bug is with BB World that is to be updated itself? But it does not offer me to
update one.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix that?

I wish I new how to update
I have purchased yesterday BB Classic for my wife and also updated OS for it.
BBM works flawlessly with OS 10.3.1.1565 and preinstalled BBM 10.5.15.19. However its also indicates in red that the application is "Unavailable for this device".
Anyone from Blackberry, would you please suggest how to update BBM in my case?! It is that vital for me.

No clue why you cannot make video calls over your cellular operator... have you tried contacting them?
If you're referring to FaceTime, it is currently limited to Wi-Fi only.
Sending files via Bluetooth is not a supported feature of the iPhone or iOS. A simple search of the web or these forums would have made that abundantly clear.
Threatening to throw away valuable items in these forums only serves to make you look less than intelligent. No one here is an Apple employee, we are all users like yourself. As such, we could care less what you do. If you choose to be stupid, that's up to you.

Video calling over 3rd party apps

As an avid apple believer I want to do everything with my apple products, including make video calls to my parents overseas. Now while I understand that apple is bringing facetime to 3g in the furture for now no such luck. Normally there is "an app for that" but there isn't any third party video calling app for Iphone 4. What are my options.

As for FaceTime Apple should seriously reconsider updating the iOS to support video calling over 3G instead of just WIFI which is not readily available. Most international carriers already support HSPA+ which provides sufficient bandwidth and speed to allow video calling over 3G as already proven by Tango and Skype.

N70 video call over internet...!

I have a N70 phone with good 3G connection. I need to make a video call through my phone with use of front camera. The call need to be just like yahoo messenger video call what we make by PC.
I'm already use VOIP application such like fring. They don't support video, but chat and voice.
So is it possible to make a video call through my phone. Please give names of the software which provide video call over internet.

Any progress or update from nokia about this video call over 3G function on our beloved N900...can anyone from nokia or software developer can give some hint to us...???..if not,nokia is suck and bulllshit because letting their loyal user like suck without suport..they just left user with the great community suport only...i love nokia community but nokia company and its suport like **bleep**...

i think he means 3g video calling with your network provider , not skype not gtalk....
and there has been some talks at TMO more chance of getting 3g calling from our maemo5 community, not nokia .

Hi, I am unable to make 3g Video Calling (Not Skype etc.) In Call settings I see IP Dial settings however it takes only numeric value. I use this phone in India using IDEA Cellular Network, Can you confirm if i make Video Call over 3g Network, If yes How??

I am using K 900 in india & my service provider is Vodafone having 3G facility wants video calling directly without the help ofv SKYpe,etc.Is it possible by this device.

Two EX90 devices can make video calls over Internet with No VCS-C and VCS-E

Dear Experts;
I have just started TelePresence and VCS 2 weeks before by going through cisco docs and videos and I had taken a risk of implementing the infrastructure elements.
We are now implementing Cisco Tele presence with VCS-C, VCS-E TMS,TCS,MCU and End points with Jabber in One setup.
and in another setup CUCM 10.5,UCCX 10.5 IM&P,Jabber with some 10 agents.
Now the question is In our same building in 2nd floor we have one EX90 and in 5th Floor one EX90 and over LAN we can make video calls using IP address.
In the same way is it possible to make a video call between 2 EX90 devices present in different location in the same city over Internet without the involvement of VCS-C and VCS-E.
Appreciate your valuable reply.

The simple answer to that is NO! Where is the EX90 registered to at the moment? Is it on the VCS? or CUCM

How can we use K900 for video call over wifi or 3G

Do we have video calling feature like samsung provides over 3G or wifi? I dont see any option while dialing a number.

I would recommend 3rd party apps such as Line or Skype for video calls ... As for future plans to implement video calls in the Lenovo dialer, I am not sure.

Video calls over E1 ISDN PRI link

I have an ISDN E1 PRI Link through MGCP gateway, the telco say that they will provide a Video call service through this link for up to 30 calls!! is that possible (voice is working fine)??
What I know is a 64 k provided by each ISDN channel is not enough for Video calls unless using MCU or a gateway to aggregate the isdn channels.
Other people suggest that with H323 gw this can be done.
Call flow: Mobile Phone ==> ISDN ==> MGCP (or H323 if required) ==> CUCM==>Video enabled phone

H.323 is supported in Cisco ISR routers. It is recommended to have dedicated video gateways the Cisco (ex Tandberg/Codian) 3200 Series would be better.

Yes, Skype can make video calls over 3G. You do NOT need to jailbreak your phone. I believe the previous poster thought you were asking about FaceTime which does not work over 3G.

if you choose a contact and you're offered the option to video call it will work (most Nokia phones from the last few years can make video calls over 3G) but using a mirror may not be the best of experiences ? You would at least see the person at the other end , it's not a feature I use personally but have tried it and it works fine as long as you have a decent 3G signal

We all want that feature for video calls over 3g network on our N900 in next firmware update..please nokia we all begging from you..PLEASE,PLEASE PLEASE
p/s: the reason is because most of our network service provider is compatible with this feature even its provide with free package for video calling over 3G network..that the reason why we all realy need that function are available with our N900.come on NOKIA it just a software/firmware tweak on this device because you already provide this front VGA camera.if is not maybe we all can accept it...
