No video using kindle fire hd

When l make a video call on my kindle fire had the video won't work. I can see the other person but they can't see me. I get a message that says the other caller will not be able to see me becausethe video is turned off. I turn it on andit looks like it is going to connect but then a red line will appear over the video Icon and the video does not connect.

ii am having same problem. good voice calls but no video on video calls from my end nor from the other person's end. i cant see them and they cant see me. voices clear tho. any solutions yet? i tried redownloading but no change. kindle camera works fine tho for other uses but not for skype. video enabled in settings but sometimes i still get red line thru camera icon on skype. still no video picture with or without camera redline icon.

Audio, but no video on Kindle Fire?

We have an application that streams video over the rtmpe protocol (also tried just rtmp) using a flash video object for display (flash.media.Video). The video plays fine on the Nook Tablet and the Blackberry Playbook. However, when run on an Amazon Kindle Fire we get audio, but no video shows. We tried setting video.opaqueBackground = 0xffffff; to make sure the video was even loading, and we do see a white background, but as soon as the video begins to play (we hear audio), the video object goes black and we don't see any video.
Anyone run into this?

They play on all other devices. This is Kindle Fire 7" HD

How is the video embedded? Can you play the video from Kindle Fire when
it is not embedded in the page?
A quick Google search shows up a lot of problems on Silk with video.
Since it works on other browsers, I suspect that the Kindle is culprit here.

When I use Skype on my Kindle Fire HDX 7" I get really good calls when it comes to audio calls. When it comes to video calling though, the sound is excllent as well as the video quality, but the video is 3-4 seconds delayed in contrast to the sound received. This happens only on my end. The other person can see me and listen to me well and in synch. I tried calling amazon throught their video help. The video looked fine and I had no issues with that. So I guess it has something to do with Skype as an application.

Wait for a fix from Apple or Skype.

Video calling problems with kindle fire

Video calling is unresponsive. The other person cannot see me during the call.

Same is going for me and when I look back this problem has Been happening since October so what are we supposed to do about this, I have contacted skype and amazon and it not working so well zoo far I'll keep trying I'll let you know if I find anything

Video Playback Android (Kindle Fire)

I have been trying for several days to get video playback working on my Kindle Fire. This is my first attempt at playing video on Android at all.
Upon buildling my .apk, my video file resides at assets/cinematics/intro.mp4. I would like to play this video full screen. What I would really like is a step by step how to guide of playing a video in this manner on Android.
Since Kindle Fire does not support StageVideo, I am trying to use flash.media.Video. The code for playing these videos seem pretty standard. However, I get absolutely no video playing at all.
Here is some version of my code although I have tried many variations:

I am not 100% sure the url I am passing to ns.play() is correct. I have tried using also "file://" + vidoeFile.nativePath but with no luck.
I have read somewhere that setting "Use Network Service" to false could resolve this issue, but that did not work either.
I have tried copying the file to the File.applicationStorageDirectory and playing the video from there, but that did not seem to work either.
I am also not real sure how to debug this issue. What events should I be looking for? How can I get some sort of error message telling me what may be wrong?

It seems that you may be clicking the "skype" symbol on the tablet, which will take you to the skype homepage.
Rather than doing that, go to the word "Apps" and touch that. You'll be taken to an app page where you can touch the "skype" app that is associated with your personal account.

So lately, everytime I try to use the video call on my kindle, the video crashes in moments and I have to restart my kindle. Yet regular voice calling works fine. I have a good connection and everything, help? I have no idea why this is happening

Why won't Firefox for Android on my Kindle Fire HD play YouTube videos?

The default browser (Silk) on the Kindle Fire HD plays YouTube videos. Both Firefox for Android and Silk obviously use the same operating system and hardware. What needs to be done to/with the Firefox for Android browser so that it will play YouTube videos. Firefox on my desktop machine plays YouTube videos.

There is the old insecure Flash 11.1 Plugin that Adobe (and Google Play) has not supported since Android 4.0. As long as you have Android 4.3 or older then you can get the Flash plugin to work in manual install though Android 4.4 has made it so Flash will not work.
However Mozilla has made a workaround for Flash can still work in Firefox on Android 4.4 in as early as Firefox 27.0 if I recall.
There is this thread on getting Flash installed however the poster mentions Dolphin and not Firefox instead.

Not that some sites (News sites are among some I encountered) have since lately been requiring users using Flash 11.1 on Android, PlayBook and Flash 11.2.x on Linux to upgrade to more current (not possible) to view their Flash videos.

Videos not playing on Kindle Fire running Android 4.2.2

We have developed a video based eLearning module using Adobe Captivate 8. The module is intended to publish to HTML5 so that it should run on all PC browsers, iPad and Android tablets. The module runs well on PC browsers, iPad and Android 4.4.2 version. However, it doesn’t load / play the videos on a Kindle Fire HD running Android 4.2.2.
Has anyone run into this? Is there a solution?
I have prepared a sample Captivate file that can be downloaded from: Dropbox - Interactive-Interview-STD.cptx
Can anyone suggest why the videos don't play on the Kindle and what we can do?

I retried with the file in an MP4 wrapper and all seemed to go well.
If anyone has any insight into this stuff, I'd appreciate hearing it. Thanks!

Can't get video calls to work

I just purchased 2 kindle fire tablets. Why can't we get the video skype to function. Only calls can be made and they don't always connect. Do we have to buy time for video calls?. Nowhere does it say what to do to make these calls.

We only support video calling on the Kindle Fire HD currently. Do you have the newest HD version?

Kindle Fire - Skype won't sign in

Hi hope someone can help, I sideloaded Skype to my kindle fire and installed it, however, it just keeps saying 'signing in' and nothing else happens. I only want voice calls, so the video is immaterial. If some kind soul could give me some advice I would be very grateful.

Try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.
