Video Camera on iPhone is a Update possible?

Is it possible for Apple to make a update to allow the iPhone to have a video cam? I dont see why it cant be done? To jus record what the camera sees? is it hard for programers to figuar out? Or is Apple holding out on purpose?

crazy I'm not seeing this problem posted. Ideas anyone? Since updating my iPhone with the 2.0 update, my video playback is audio only with a black screen for video. What's curiouser is that podcasts play back just fine. The problem seems to be with video that I've personally encoded for the phone. All of this video was fine prior to the update, which leads me to think that encoding parameters have changed with the update. Does anyone know anything about this, and if so, what those new parameters might be?

All of my stuff and itms stuff still works on my 3g iPhone, encoded in H.264.
I have used visualhub, handbrake and the elgato turbo H.264.
I have no idea why you and some others are having issues.

Hi, I have the apple Iphone 8g first generation.
My iphone died, so I got another one because it was under warrenty..
I had downloaded a video camera for the iphone and paid $20 for it!
Now I can't find it anywhere in the app store...
Is there anyone that can help me out in finding the video camera for iphone?

i never heard of their being a proper app to buy from iTunes for a vidoe - that would be great. If you have bought it through itunes i would contact them and ask them how this can be re-installed.

Loading your own videos on the Iphone

I was wondering if I can load my own videos onto my iPhone.
Is it possible? Is there a faq on how I can do it? I have a over seas TV series I would like to out on my Iphone. It's in AVI format. I aleady have a converter to conver the movies. I just need to know if draging the movie onto the Itunes will work?

If the video is in a quicktime format, you can drag it into itunes. Once it is in itunes you can click on it to highlight it, then click advanced at the top of itunes and choose convert for ipod.

i know you cant send a video from the iphone you cant make a video with the iphone, but is it possible to forward one from the email on your iphone to another cell?
i actually had a video sent to me from a cellphone(not an iphone) to my email, i attempted to view it on my iphone and it was much darker than the original and had no sound...dont know if it would work if i sent it to another cell phone to view it

Was the retail price for this phone $50, or was this your subsidized price for the phone? If subsidized by the cellular provider, the full retail price wasn't $500, but it was much more than $50.
The iPhone includes a camera, so it is a matter of software required to capture video with the camera and save the video. I can only assume Apple decided not to focus development resources on software that they thought the majority of people probably don't or wouldn't use, regardless if a $50 phone is so capable. The few times I've captured video with a cell phone, it wasn't worth the effort. Mediocre quality at best, but usually poor.
With firmware update 2.0 to be released in early July, along with the iTunes App store for 3rd party software as a result of the iPhone SDK (software developers kit) released in March, it is possible a 3rd party developer will provide software for capturing video with the iPhone, and if so, it will indicate this was Apple's intent all along making it optional to those who want this feature.

See if it helps to delete the firmware file and download a new one:
Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw)
iTunes uses "ipsw" files to restore your iPod or iPhone. If those files are unusable, then try deleting them, renaming them, or moving the file to a different directory. This will cause iTunes to download a new copy of the IPSW. When a restore issue is specific to a user, it is likely due to an unusable .ipsw file. If removing the .ipsw file does not resolve a user-specific restore issue, then the issue is caused by other user-specific security software settings or iTunes preferences. Creating a new user will also cause new .ipsw restore files to be downloaded in the new user. You can find the ".ipsw" files in these locations:

iPhone
~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates
iPad
~/Library/iTunes/iPad Software Updates
iPod touch
~/Library/iTunes/iPod Software Updates
Note: The tilde "~" represents your Home directory.

New "video camera" feature on iPhone

How come the new update didn't include a video camera for some of us who are not blessed with a new iPhone 3G(S)? I am not going to spend money on a new iPhone just to have a camera or buy a program on the App Store and then regret buying it because it didn't live up to what I want it to do. And will there be a future update in which we can have the video camera in our update? In case if you guys are wondering what iPhone I have, it is the iPhone 2G.

Because Apple chose not to make this a feature of the iphone original or iphone 3g.

Unless Apple announces, there is no way to know what they will or will not do in the future.

Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

Cameras on iphone 4 aren't working after updating to ios6

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 right after it was released.
I haven't used my camera until today. However, I can't use either of my cameras on iphone.I tried to take a photo but the shutter wouldn't open.
When I change to video capturing, shutter opens but camera it's just a black screen. When I start recording, shutter closes and opens.
Flash also isn't responding on camera (working on different app where its used as a flashlight)
I downloaded application which uses camera, image is black.
I don't think it's hardware problem for I didn't drop my iphone or anything like that, but am unsure now...
I tried restoring, it didn't work...
Any ideas?

So I went to the apple store today since I was having the same problems, they reset it back to factory settings. Plugged in Iphone to laptop and the same two options came up: 1. set as new Iphone or 2. restore. So I restored thinking it would then synch...nope.
They told me if I didn't work to bring back my Iphone and laptop, it might be a problem with Itunes.

FCE: Possible to Capture SD footage from digital video cam?

Ok, probably a daft question this. Don't laugh...
I'm thinking of purchasing a digital video camera that uses SD cards. I currently use a MiniDV cam and connect via Firewire.
Is it possible to capture footage shot on SD cards into FCE?
And, if so, should I use USB from the camera, or insert the SD card into my card-reader?
The camera I'm looking at is able to record HD footage to a 2gb SD card (about 40 mins worth)

I have a iPhone 4 s I did the software update ages ago and lost my camera roll then did the update and they all came back then on Christmas eve they have all gone !!

THis is now the 5 th time I have written this !!!

Why should we care how many times you've written this? Are you making multiple threads? Are they being deleted by the Hosts?
Did you make a backup of your iPhone before you updated the iOS?
Did you import the photos to your computer?
Were the photos in the Camera Roll, Photo Stream or synced iTunes albums?
