Video camera zoom

Is there a zoom function on the video camera?  I can find it for the still camera but not for the video.

yes if you have an OS that is at least 4.5.
to know the OS version on your device :
home screen >> options >> about.
I have 4.2.2.175 for instance.
if you want to, you can upgrade your OS by clicking on the "SOFTWARE" button on top of this page, then on the left 'BlackBerry device software'.

  • Video Camera Zoomed In Too Much

I know there probably is not a fix for this but I just wanted to throw it out there. Why, when you switch from Camera to Video does it zoom in so much? I was trying to take video of my daughter in front of me and I couldn't back up enough where we were at the time to get enough of her in the frame.
How annoying. Maybe someone has seen an App that uses the full frame of the camera lens?

I'm wondering the same. It's quite an alteration over the still camera mode.

  • 4S video camera zoomed?

Hey guys, i have recently noticed that when i switch from the regular still camera to video it seems to automatically zoom in by quite a large degree, to the point of me having to back up quite a bit when recording.  I have never noticed this before and my phone recently took a battering, overheating several times in one day from excess temperatures + Video recording.
Is this normal or is something wrong?
    Cheers.

Normal.  Video recording takes place at a lower resolution than still photographs, and it is that lower resolution which gives the effect of having zoomed.

  • Zoom app for the iphone video cam?

would it be possible to add zoom to the video cam using a 3rd party application?

There are apps in the AppStore that do this for still pictures, but its a digital zoom meaning all it does it zoom/crop the image.
The only way to zoom the video is to move closer to the subject.
A proper zoom is a hardware feature, not software.

  • Third Party Video Camera Wants To Zoom

I use a Panasonic video camera connected via Firewire, when using iChat (4). Every few minutes the image it picks up of me zooms in, and then after a moment, it zooms back out. I have no idea what controls this, but it is driving me nuts.
Any thoughts what might be going on and how I can solve this problem?

    Hi,
Some DV Camcorders have demo modes.
Some of these include showing you all the editing whizzy things but this sounds like it is showing you other features.
Check it is not stuck in a Demo mode.

  • My video camera is automatically zoomed in when i open it. How do i fix this?

I am using iPhone 6 and i had updated it to the iOS 8.2. I started using its camera and video camera until one day when i opened the videocamera, it was automatically zoomed in. I tried to zoom out but it didn't work. When i switched to camera, it returned to its normal zoom again, that is, without it zooming in. I tried restarting my phone and it worked. But when it happened again, i did the same resolution but the problem was not fixed. Please help.

Are you sure the account is checked for new mail?
A .Mac type account is really an IMAP type account so any mailboxes stored on the server (under the .Mac account icon in the mailboxes drawer) are automatically synchronized with the server when first launching Mail and connected to the internet if the account is enabled under the Advanced tab for the account preferences.
I have 3 POP type accounts, a .Mac account and 2 IMAP type accounts. As a test, I deselected "Include when automatically checking for new mail" for all accounts and then quit and re-launched Mail. None of my accounts checked the incoming mail server for new mail but all server stored mailboxes for my .Mac account were synchronized with the server.

  • Camera zoom-out

    Hi.
I'm using Motion 4 and I'm trying to achieve a camera zoom-out with some conditions. Here's a image to explain the size and the type of zoom I'm looking for. My background images have 3072x1536 pixels and my canvas in Motion is defined to be 1024x768 pixels.
As you can see by the picture, I want to scale my camera view but I only want to do it through the upper right diagonal so that my bottom left point stays at the same place.
I've already tried to change the camera between framing and viewpoint but If I got my layers appart in 3D space they all start to phase out because of the perspective. Considering a flat image on the background, how can I scale/zoom-out my camera to do the effect on the image?
    Thank you!

Walk backwards, as there is no zoom in video mode. Either that, or look for an app that provides "video zoom".

  • Looking for a sports video camera that is compatible with the mac

Looking for a video camera that can record sports well and is also compatible with the mac. I've been using iMovie to edit videos for a highlight reel of my highschool soccer games that I coach.

I like Sony HD MiniDV (HDV) Handycam Camcorder - HDRFX1000, but I have also used several older Sony (DCR-TRV17 and DCR-TRV70) and Canon (VIXIA HV20, VIXIA HV30, and VIXIA HV40) tape-based Firewire-equipped camcorders with good results.
I prefer tape-based Firewire-equipped cameras because of their IEEE 1394 transfer speed, compatibility with iMovie HD, and ability to serve as the source recording directly into iMovie when desired.  If none of these characteristics is important to you, other Mac-compatible camcorders with suitable zoom ranges and lens speeds for the light levels you encounter should also do nicely for recording at your games.
You do not say which iMovie version you are using, but you can find about known compatible camcorders by searching for the info in a search like this one.

  • Can't capture from my cannon video camera to Final Cut or iMovie.

Hi. I can't capture from my cannon video camera to FInal Cut or iMovie. ANy help would be greatly appreciated. I don't think my iMac is recognizing the camera. I was told I don't need a firewire, that USB would work if I'm just capturing. If I need a firewire what kind (the one I was sold didn't fit). I'm getting an "unable to locate external device message". Not sure of next steps to try. Thanks.

Forget USB for capturing from tape. USB is only for stills from a Tape Based camera.
    You require a firewire cable.
The camera connection end will be four pin and the Mac is nine pin to the 800 port.
Ask for a 9 to 4 pin firewire cable. Sounds like you have the wrong one as they can also be 4 to 4 or 4 to 6 pin!!
Also you will need the correct Easy Setup in FCE so FCE talk to the camera, exactly which one depends on what type of footage is being sent to FCE from the camera during capture.

  • How do I connect an external video camera to my MacBook Pro.

Our school has an indoor graduation ceremony and has a live video feed of the proceedings brodcast from the gymnasium to the overflow seating in the auditorium. I want to connect a video camera that has RCA outputs to my MacBook Pro, have the video show on the screen, mirror it to Apple TV in another room of our school and project the picture onto the auditorium's movie screen. I know that I could just hold up an iPad for two hours, but it would be nice to have a better zoom and a smoother pan than a handheld device. Any ideas of what I would need to connect a video camera with RCA outputs to my MacBook Pro?

    How about this?

  • Streaming from a Video Camera

Hi, i don't want to use my isight anymore for the limitations of moving arround. I have an Imac and well is a little bit difficult if i want to zoom something i always have to put it near the computer and i don't want that so i want to connect a video camera to use it as a webcam so i can have the posibilities of moving around with a long cable and not being just in one place.
Wich camera do you recommend for this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to Discussions, Pustulio
If are seeking a pro level video production video cam, I defer to the video professionals for answers.
However, if you are only looking for a moveable, zoom-capable replacement for an iSight to use with your Leopard Mac, there are a lot of alternatives in this list that will work for you:
      http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2018211
If you already have a Mac-compatible camcorder, that will give you the best picture.
If you need to buy something and if price is a factor, the lowest cost option with decent image quality will probably be a good quality "UVC" webcam with the optical zoom range you need. Of course, whatever you choose must be compatible with the software you intend to use, too.

  • I'm looking at buying an IPad and was wondering if it has the capacity to replace a video camera.

I'm looking at buying an IPad and was wondering if it has the capacity to replace a video camera.  I'm looking at the 128GB version and I know there are many variables.  But I'm thinking that it should hold at least 60 mintues of video before needing it to be downloaded.  Thoughts?

If you want to record good video, get a camera.
iPads can record video but they lack almost all other useful features of a dedicated camera - eg a decent lens, the ability to zoom, reasonable audio, removable media, small form factor .... and on and on.

  • Best API for video camera app

Hi. Which Directive/Class will be the better choice if your app is mainly a video camera app. I saw about 3 different Classes to capture videos. I'm currently using Microsoft.Devices/CaptureDevice to capture video. It looks limited to me because found
out I can't pause==>resume a recording. And what about Zooming? Can you tell me which way I want to go if I want to make sure my camera functionality is powerful? Which directive/class and if possible some code example on how to use it and maybe how to
