Video cameras compatibles with iMovie6 or FCP 5 ???

Please: which is the link which gives the list of the video cameras
compatible with iMovie6 and CPF 5 ???
thank you for the answer.

Apple's original compatible camcorders page was never kept properly up-to-date, as Apple just couldn't test every single camcorder which was produced.
So now Apple just refers people to the camcorder makers' own pages ..in that link (above) posted by Kirk.

Is Panasonic HC-V500KCP HD Video Camera compatible with my 2009 iMovie on my MacBook?

While we all have MacBooks in this forum not all of us use iMovie. There's an iMovie Support Community where everybody uses iMovie. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer. https://discussions.apple.com/community/ilife/imovie

  • Video camera compatible with macbook pro

Can anyone recommend a mid-priced video camera that is compatible with a macbook pro? Will be used for family videos with iMovie.

Visit the online Apple Store and any online store that sells Mac products.  You will see a lot of goodies to choose from depending on how much you want to spend.
I personally have a Kodak EasyShare camera which I purchased from MacMall.

  • Is the Canon Powershot S2 IS Digital Camera compatible with an ipod photo?

I'm going on a roadtrip to the northwest next month and was wondering if anyone knows whether the Canon Powershot S2 IS Digital Camera compatible with an ipod photo?

You cannot, with a PC or a Mac, transfer photos from a camera directly to the iPod. You need to download the images from the camera to your computer first, then move the pictures from the computer to the iPod.
Not quite sure about that - from the Apple Store (UK):
Simply plug the iPod Camera Connector into the iPod dock connector, plug your camera’s USB cable and watch your images make their way to the iPod, ready to view in a slide show!
Compatible with iPod with color display.
    Not compatible with iPod nano.
    Requires iPod software v1.1.
    See http://www.apple.com/ipod/compatibility/cameraconnector.html for supported cameras.

  • HT4757 Will this software make my Canon Powershot A700 work with os x 10.8.2 and iPhoto 11 v. 9.4.1?  Is there any way to get my camera compatible with this computer?

Will this software make my Canon Powershot A700 work with os x 10.8.2 and iPhoto 11 v. 9.4.1?  Is there any way to get my camera compatible with this computer?

    First Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
    Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If that doesn't help apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I use a G4; run Mac OS X  Tiger 10.4.11.  I just installed iPhoto 6 from a DVD. (I know, it's old by now) and when I went to Apple's web page for cameras compatible with iPhoto 6, I came up empty.  Can anyone help me find a web page that shows the cameras compatible with iPhoto 6?

  • Is the FX5200-T128 video card compatible with an Athlon 64 CPU and a K8N mobo?

I am building a new computer based on the Athlon 64 3000 processor and the mobo MSI K8N Neo-FSR.
I intended to use MSI MS-8907 GeForce FX5200-T128 as the video card.
However I have been told that this video card might not be compatible either with the Athlon 64 processors or with the mobo MSI K8N Neo-FSR.
    Is it compatible or not?
If it's not compatible, what is the cheapest MSI video card compatible with the Athlon 64 and the K8N?
Thank you in advance for your help.

If it's there, it means they at least inserted the card, booted, and installed drivers, as far as what they do from that point is anyones guess. You will see the far right column shows 4x or 8x.
I agree, it is minimal info at best and not my idea of what should be included in a test report.
I don't see any reason why that card would not work, the market is saturated with that type of card.

  • Is "Sony Cybershot DSCT300 10.1MP Digital Camera" compatible with the Sony 40m Marine Pack?

Hello, Is Sony Cybershot DSCT300 10.1MP Digital Camera compatible with the Sony 40m Marine Pack? Thank you for your help.

    Hi squid10feetfish,
    Welcome to the Sony Community!
The 40 m marine pack, MPKTHF, is the casing that is exclusively made for this unit. Any other units of the marine pack can't be used with other camera models as they are made specifically to fit the dimensions of the respective compatible units.

  • HD camera compatible with Premiere Pro CS3?

What is the cheapest high definition camera compatible with PPCS3? Or, best deal for the money without spending a fortune? If not a particular brand/model, what output formats can I look for and be sure of native compatibility? I also would prefer a camera that records to an internal hard drive and/or flash card.
Thank you very, very much in advance!

    Attention Ayn Randian,
Getting camera advice from the user forum may prove a contentious issue.  I don't doubt you'll get the opinions of a couple of different users who have very differing views.  I'd suggest you call Adobe Tech Help or look for it in the 'Knowledgebase" where you can find a list of cameras Adobe 'supports' with CS3.  Go with what Adobe states it supports, not the regards of users on this forum.  Take for example the other post listed here.  HDV is definitely a good choice when looking into camera options.  However not just 'Any hdv camera will do', and any user that infers otherwise is not assisting you.  Going out and buying even a good hdv camera may leave you with a unit that isn't supported by Adobe and hence useless.  As previously indicated Adobe supply's a list of compatible cameras, use it.  Otherwise I suggest you do not purchase a camera unless you know for sure whether it will work with Adobe CS3.

  • Cameras compatible with FCP

Hello everyone. I'm curious to find out if there is a list that apple or FCP puts out that has all the cameras that are compatible with FCP and if it stays current. About a month ago I was at the beach and my home video camera was left unattended, and was drowned by a huge wave. Luckily I didn't take my Sony FX1. (Which is what I originally was going to do) Anyhow, I'm going to go and buy my wife another camera in the $700.00 to $1,000 dollar range and I want to make sure that whatever camera I purchase I can download the footage in FCP 6. Thanks
    Erv

    Indeed.
As a filthy Englishman, I do not celebrate this holiday.
But all the best to you and yours anyway.

  • Are these cameras compatible with FCP?

Does anyone out there know if any of these cameras is compatible with Final Cut Pro 5/6? It's not listed on the compatibility list, but I have a hard time believing Sony or Panasonic would make any camcorders that are not compatible with FCP these days. I just want to make sure however, before I buy.

The qualifying devices list is not a good standard to judge by. There are many "devices" that work fine and aren't listed, and conversely, devices that are listed but may not function if the user is also using a certain third-party device; for example, certain listed Canons may indeed work well with FCS2, but attach an external drive to the same FireWire bus and it all goes fubar.

  • QT Pro recorded video not compatible with FCP?

Is a video recorded in QT Pro compatible with FCP?
I was getting errors earlier today importing QT video clips recorded in QT Pro.
FCP said "unknown file type" and wouldn't import it.
I tried different decks, different footage, all to no avail.
Drag and drop, file>Import, neither worked.
I never tried this before and was surprised.
It's not that it needed rendering, it just wouldn't import.
QT was set to use the native format of the recording device.
FCP was set to DV NTSC easy set up.
    OS 10.4.7, QT 7.1.2, FCP 5.0.4.
    Thanks,
    Richard
    G5 dual 2 gig   Mac OS X (10.4.7)
    G5 dual 2 gig   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

The files open fine in QT player.
640 X 480 was the QT captured frame size, 29.97 fps, and it was captured as "device native" in QT preferences. The source tapes where mini DV/NTSC so its frame size should be 720 X 480.
If this frame size is the problem, why is QT pro recording a 640 X 480 image when the original is 720 X 480? Also, can't FCP handle a 640 X 480 QT video size anyway?
I tried different tapes with different decks and kept coming up with the "file not recognized" error when trying to import into FCP.
    Thanks for your help,
    Richard

  • Is the Sony HDR-FX7 HDV Camera compatible with Final Cut Pro 5 or 6?

Has anyone gotten this to work correctly. I have read in a few forums that the camera is not supported by FCP and I checked on the compatibility list and it is not there. iMovie sees this camera and can capture from it.
I can not get FCP 6 to recognize the camera. I set device control to Sony HDV and I am only able to capture using the Intermediate Codec. When I switch to the HDV codec it only will record for a second then fail. Although I can capture with some limitations I still can't get FCP to recognize the camera and therefore video from the timeline won't playback on the camera.
I really don't want to have to buy a hdmi capture card or buy a HDV deck to get this to work. If anyone knows any workarounds it would be greatly appreciated.
If there are none any suggestions on a cheap compatible hdv deck or camera to get footage in and out would be great.
    Thanks.

I have never had a problem with my internal boot drive either capturing DV footage and since HDV shares the same data rate I didn't think it would be an issue.
Then you are lucky my friend. If you wish to keep tempting fate that is your choice. I am simply suggesting that you follow the suggested setup so that you could eliminate a possible problem.
I do think there are compatibility issues.
This may be the case. Have you used an easy setup that matches your cameras settings and then changed control to firewire basic as I suggested earlier?
I have manually set up the capture settings and it will only work to the intermediate codec.
Manually settings are not always the best method. Try an easy setup as I suggested earlier.
I have narrowed it down to 2 things, either it's a Final Cut 6 issue on an Intel Mac, or it's just not compatible (Apple does not list it in it's Compatible Hardware List).
What I am trying to do is to narrow it down further. I have given you suggestions but it does not appear that you have tried them. If you try these we can continue to eliminate until you have an answer.
Please post back when you have tried my previous suggestions.

  • Is there a way to make the MJPEG codec for my camera compatible with Lion?

    The company states:
"Currently, the MJPEG codec is not compatible with Mac OS and the frame rate of this model will be slower on Mac OS systems."
Does this mean that the language the microscope camera (DinoLite) speaks is not understood, and cannot be translated to be understood, by OS X?  Is it like this is a custom dialect of MJPEG codec that would have to be designed to speak to OS X?  Or, is there an App for that?  Thanks!

A codec is a coding format for media. MJPEG is one such for video.  If your computer doesn't have a codec to decode the video component then it cannot play it.  If it is some obscure third party codec then it is possible the makers don't care about Macs and only made a PC version.  Reading about mjpeg it looks like it is an old codec which has had Mac support for quite some time, but it is possible it is some special variant. The Dino-Lite makers don't provide any details on their site.
...and the frame rate of this model will be slower on Mac OS systems.
that's because the highest frame rate feature uses the MJPEG codec which isn't available on Macs so for Mac use you will have to use a format that only works at lower rates.
You could always throw the general third party Mac codec collection at it and see what happens.  In addition to MPEGStreamclip try the Perian set of codecs and VLC player.
