Video capture screen cut off at the top

I am waiting for my new elements 9 to show up on the licensing page, and perhaps this will solve the problem I am having in version 3 (I know, but like I said I am upgrading!) but I would like to import some video from tape and I have a problem I have never seen before. When I open the video capture page all is well except the top menu portion is cut off which presents a huge problem since the button to go back to the main page when import is complete is not there. The only way out is good old alt-cntl-del to close the whole program. Does anybody know how to fit the screen so everything shows? All my other applications fit perfectly. Its been getting bigger and bigger for the last week but until now I had the very bottom of the icon to click on. Cant wait for 9, not sure why it takes so much time to make it available for download and licensing...

Quicktime regularly updates so I assume I have the latest. I do have 3.02 and I just called up the program to get the version I am running and I see the problem has gone away. I now see the whole screen and am able to grab the edges and adjust the size, go figure... I am still waiting for my version 9, I expect this problem will not show up again once I update. If you don't have an iPhone, grab the browser handle and drag it to the left to reduce the width to see how it responds to mobile devices' fixed width browsers .

If you use any of the four fallback players above, take advantage of the fact that you can add a poster image and stop the video file from preloading. This makes for a faster page download time.
You can also achieve this using HTML5 by adding preload="none" and poster="URL to the poster image" into the code shown on this page...

Why does Large text in a Form get cut off at the top when I save it as a PDF

Hi. I've created a form in Acrobat with 2 text fields. I set the size to 40pt and 30pts using Helvetica. When I fill out the form and save-as a PDF the text displays as cut off at the top.
Here's what I've tried so far:
Making the text fields MUCH larger than the font.
Changing fonts. I've tried Helvetica, Verdana, Arial
Selecting Multi-line
Does anyone know how I can keep it from cutting off? The only solution I've been able to find thus far is reducing the font size significantly, which is not an option.

I'm using Acrbat Pro version 10.1.4
The text looks perfect in Acrobat. I'm choosing File > Save As from Acrobat and then when I open it with Preview or Reader it cut's off the text.

Mail fonts cut off at the top.

Suddenly when I'm typing a new mail message, some of the fonts are cut off at the top. Usually capital letters, e.g. "C" you can't see the top of the curve of the letter. Also, when you hit the return, a number of faded dots are in the interval spacing, looking like a bad ribbon on an old typewriter. When I send the message, it appears okay to the receiver, and the copy in my sent folder looks normal. Any suggestions? I've tried changing fonts and sizes without much luck.

I suggest that you try unchecking both of the crop options - landscape & portrait.
To re-create your situation, I had to check the crop for landscape pictures option.
I prefer to have control over any cropping so I tend to crop each image first before creating the slide show.

Video Files being Cut Off at the End in CC

So I've been using Premiere Pro for awhile now, and recently upgraded to CC. I record a number of different things that I post onto YouTube - vlogs, video gameplay, and web-based tutorials. My vlogs are still file, and my video gameplay recordings also seem fine, but I'm having an issue with my web-based tutorials now.
For both the video game and tutorials I use a program called Fraps to capture my screen + audio commentary. Fraps generates AVI files, and I have it set to chop the recording into 4GB sections (basically every time a file hits around 4GB, it saves it and starts a new file). For some reason the final recording in my tutorials is missing the last 10 - 20 seconds when I bring it into Premiere Pro CC. This is not happening to my gaming footage, and when I play the tutorial footage outside of Premiere Pro, the missing footage is there.
I can't imagine the problem being Fraps because:
Before upgrading to CC I never had this issue
The AVI files from Fraps are fine when played outside of Premiere Pro CC
Has anyone else experience this and is there any known solution/work around (other than just recording an additional 20-30 second buffer at the end of all my tutorials to compensate)?

I have just encountered this problem myself and found it to be a problem with recording from Fraps at 30 FPS, i tried at first recording the file playing in WMP with Fraps again at 30 FPS and imported a 30 second clip in to end up with only 4 seconds once in premiere. I then tried recording the video's end in WMP at 60 FPS and it seems fine, it is not clipping the duration down at all and so all i need to do is just edit the gaps in between. So i guess for now just record everything at 60 FPS which i assume you largely do anyway for game videos but even your non-game stuff, record it at 60 FPS until whatever the problem is, is solved. If you have any clips need to fix in the mean time, just do as i did and watch them in a video player in full screen and record with the Fraps input sound turned off, then edit the clip in. hope it helps!
Edit : One thing i did try, which might be worth you having a go of just to see if it is the same for you is, try putting one of your problem files into windows live movie maker, i did this and the duration was fine, but the audio was cut exactly where Premier was cutting the whole clip. So it is possible it is not directly a Premiere problem.

Content getting cut off at the top on my mobile Firefox

Hi - after the most recent update to my mobile Firefox browser (on a Galaxy GT-19300, running Android 4.1.2) its started to cut off the top of my content on certain websites I've built using a full screen background slideshow: www.seanalexander.tv www.blackbough.co.uk www.thelittelthai.co.uk www.luckysevencaps.com . I connected my Macbook Pro 2012 to a 1080p monitor, and the display is cut off at the top?

I have just connected my Macbook Pro to a 1080p 23' LG monitor using a Displayport to VGI adapter. However, when I use the 1080p setting, it cuts off a little bit of the top bar. When I switch to lower resolutions, it works just fine. I would rather use it at 1080p, though. Is there a way to fix this?

You may need a display adaptor but can otherwise use a non-Apple monitor.

Screen Light Off on the top?

Since few weeks ago the light of the screen (on the top) was kind of blinking at the startup in the morning, but after some minutes it came back to normal. And now, after beeing on sleeping mode for few hours, the top of the screen is quite dark as if the light on the top went off. So now I have a light degradé from light-bottom to dark-top. Is there anything I can do?
I work all day with it for photography...

I am using Acrobat Reader 11.0.10 . I cant print mixed originals and also I cannot print letter size correctly . printing of first two pages ok but the rest gets cut off at the top

I arrived here looking for a solution! And while reading your post the penny dropped that I didn't have a serious problem. I have a booklet of 112 pages and all I needed to do was re-order the pages as printed so that 1 is followed by a sheet with 2 on the under-face but same side and so on. The pages had printed back to front and needed flipping. But then I have a duplex printer and maybe that makes a difference. Is it to do with your manual duplexing and the order that the second pass is presented to the printer. As my duplex sheets effectively needed flipping over each one I'm wondering if you can solve your problem with a little experimentation and re-ordering before your second pass.

Q5 screen cuts off at top and left side

I've had my Q5 for a week. Today I noticed the screen is cutting off on the top and the left side.

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. If this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Imovie 11: When moving clips from event to project, the top of the video clip is cut off.

I'm working with a new project. When I add clips from an event to the project window, the top of the video clip is cut off. Quite a bit of it is cut off. It happens on every clip. The aspect ratio is correct and I've set the video to fit in frame. How can I fix this? I would really appreciate any help.

You may have stabilization turned on in the project. On one of the clips, click on the small gear icon at the start of the clip and select Clip Adjustments. In the Inspector that opens, uncheck the box "Smooth Clip Motion" against Stabilization. If this fixes it for you, do the same for the other clips.
Also, it's a good idea to turn off certain preferences in iMovie>Preferences (an iMovie menu item). In the Browser tab uncheck the boxes for both "Automatically stabilize clips that have been analyzed" and "Apply rolling shutter correction for clips that have been analyzed". See this picture:
The stabilization process causes a zoomed in effect on the video, as it has to "average" the pixels in order to smooth any shaky motion. You therefore lose a certain amount of the picture, depending on the extent of stabilization applied. Here's what iMovie Help states (in part) about this process:
"iMovie stabilizes video by analyzing the camera motion in the video and then moving the picture the opposite way to steady it onscreen. In this process, iMovie zooms in on the picture slightly. The amount of unstable motion in the clip determines how much zooming is necessary.
Zooming in crops out some of the picture, but you can fine-tune the level of stabilization to strike the right balance between keeping the video steady and retaining as much of the picture as possible."

Share Screen Cuts Off Along With Videos

Recently, during my video calls the share screen cuts off both webcams go out along with it.
When trying to turn the webcams back on they just keep circling and we would have to end the call and call back for our webcam videos to show up.
Also the webcam video randomly gets blurry even when the connection is good and shows its still white on the connetion.
When trying to turn the video off and back on to see if it would help it will come back clear for a few seconds then revert back to a blurry image.
The video is normally a rectangle shape when its clear, but crops into a small square when blurred.
Once again have to end the call and call back.

Yes. The MBair uses magnets to detect when the screen is closed. When you move a magnet along the edge, the MBair thinks you've closed the screen and puts it to sleep.

Save and Cancel are being cut off below the screen

Hi,
I'm trying to download a pdf that has opened in the Safari browser. Cmd Shft S for 'Save As.'
The "Save" and the "Cancel" buttons are cut off below the screen. This has happened in iTunes and I simply go to Window > Zoom and it's fixed. In Safari, I can't access the Zoom, it doesn't do anything. I end up having to hit "Return" just to get control of the screen back.
Here's how it looks...
