Video card upgrade options for Pavilion p6210f after 600W PSU

Greetings,
I have a Pavilion p6210f, whose PSU I just replaced with a 600W Corsair (http://tinyurl.com/7nnjfmb). I have been trying without avail to pick an appropriate video card to take advantage of the new PSU to get some decent gaming power. Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Chris

Take a look at these nVidia cards... GTX 550 Ti, GTX 560 Ti, GTX 650 Ti, GTX 660 Ti  and these AMD cards... Radeon HD 6850 or higher, Radeon HD 7850 or higher. Try to keep the length below 11 inches.

  • Graphics card upgrade options for Mac Pro (early 2008) Model 3.1

    Hi,
What are my options if I wish to upgrade the stock graphics card? I seem to remember there being one that was about £80 but I can no longer check as the site is only listing the 2009 mac pros now.
Any assistance would be gratefully received!

    Your current options are:
    ATI 2600
    Nvidia 8800
    Nvidia 5600
    Or third-party ATI 3870 Mac/PC Edition.
Presumably the new ATI 4870 will work in the Early 2008 MP, but requires OS X 10.5.7 which is not yet released. You can find benchmarks at Bare Feats.

  • GP60 Video Card Upgrade Options

Hi MSI Forums! I have bought the GP60 last December, bundled with Win8, and I'm loving every moment of it, but I want my experience to be better.
Is there a possible upgrade from 64bit to 128bit 740M?
I can run dota2 on med-high settings just fine but I'm not satisfied when it comes to MMORPGs (Dragon Nest)

I don't know much of anything about the GP60 laptops.
But most likely the GPU is built into the motherboard and there is no way to upgrade the GPU at all without buying a whole new laptop.
You can verify this yourself by taking off the bottom panel (if there is one, again, I don't truly know) and checking for yourself.

  • PSU and Video card upgrade for HP e9280t

Hello, I wanted to upgrade my PSU and video card. The PSU I would like to get is the SeaSonic S12II 620 Bronze 620W (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151096&Tpk=17-151-096) but I wasn't sure if my computer could handle and hold the PSU. The video card I would like to get is the EVGA 01G-P3-1561-AR GeForce GTX 560 Ti (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130604) but im not sure if my computer can handle this too. I have a HP Pavilion Elite e9280t CTO Desktop PC (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=4066665) can someone please tell me if I can upgrade to the PSU and Video card?

    Stuart, welcome to the forum.
The truth is, any video card that will run properly with the 300W PSU in the computer, will not be much better than the integrated video.  Most newer mid-level cards require a PSU with a minimum of 400W watts.  I have searched for other members many times without any luck.  If you want to upgrade the PSU, it will give you far more options.

  • Mac pro 8 core 3.1 randomly freezes after video card upgrade

    Hi,
I just installed an ATI 5770 as a video card upgrade, plugged my new LED cinema display 27 and everything seems to work fine.
Sometimes though, while working with Aperture I noticed the Mac Pro just freezes, although the mouse works, I cannot do anything and I'm forced to press and hold the power button for a reboot.
This happended randomly 5 or 6 times in a couple of weeks and only while working with Aperture.
Any thoughts? Anyone having the same issue?
    Thanks for your reply.
    Guido

    Running Lion or SL?
Tried holding Shift key down and do a safe boot after those freezes.
Use Disk Utility from another boot media to repair your drive.
Do you have enough RAM? is Aperture library on non-boot drive? Does it have 30% or more free? more is better. Same for the boot drive which sholdk be small and 50% free.
Corrupt library. Corrupt preferences (if there were none before, there likely are now after those hard restarts, to data files and to the disk directories).

  • DVI & ADC video card upgrade???

What can I get to replace the stock 64mb AGP card (at least I think it is) in my MDD Dual 1.42 machine. I currently run two Acrylic Cinema Displays, a 20" via DVI and a 17" via ADC...
Is ADC going to limit my options? If so, I can use a second ADC-DVI for the 17" monitor.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanx

Okay, so it sounds like I should "dump" the ADC idea.
    Then an I looking for a card with 2-DVI or 1-DVI and 1-VGA ???
I've followed several of your discussions, but still need a little help with the Video Card upgrade education. Flashed cards kind of scare me, but are they okay to use? I don't know if I could tell the difference anyway. Asking a seller on eBay if it is in most cases won't get you anywhere either.
You've talked about the 7800gs card. Any others I could consider? I've read that some cards don't work in a FW800 MDD machine.

  • G5 video card upgrade capability - HDTV?

    Hi, all
I have a G5 1.8ghz single processor tower (M9555LL/A) with an NVIDIA GeForceFX 5200 64mb video card in it (the factory default card). I'd like to use this old box as a media server, connected to a 32" LCD TV (which I have yet to purchase). What I have in mind is to use a DVI to HDMI connector to make my equipment talk.
I'm a little confused about whether it will be able to produce acceptable video with the default card at, let's say a TV with 720p vertical resolution. I understand that graphics cards are designed w/ square monitor pixels in mind, as opposed to NTSC rectangular pixels.
Does anyone have any experience with turning a Mac into a media hub, connected directly to a TV? Any thoughts on whether I might experience flickering, fuzzy images, or skipping coming from a low end video card, or other pitfalls I should be aware of before I sink several hundred dollars into this venture?
Also... I haven't found good info on what my graphics card upgrade options are for this particular Mac. Can someone point me to a list of available graphics cards, or what specs I should be looking for?
Your help is greatly appreciated in advance. Keep on truckin'!

    Hi-
I have a G4 Quicksilver as a media server connected to a 37" LCD TV. I installed a flashed Geforce 6800 GT in the QS, and connected via a DVI to HDMI cable.
I easily get the 1920 x 1200 NTSC support needed with that card.
The picture is very clear, with no fuzz or skipping of video.
When your face is very close to the screen (within 1 ft.) an ever so slight "flicker" is apparent, but is otherwise, imperceivable. A very, very nice picture, that I am completely satisfied with!
The 5200 should do a pretty good job. I first used a much lower powered ATI Radeo 9000. I was still able to get good resolution, but could not get NTSC support. Menu bar was always cut off......

  • Video Card Upgrade - A general consensus.

I have a 2.8x8 Mac Pro (2008). I want to upgrade the standard 2600. I will be using the new grahpics card only in XP, and change the cables back to the 2600 everytime when under OS X. So my question is:
    1. Can I purchase any video card driver-designed for windows XP and expect it to operate normally, under XP? This is a MASSIVE gray area... hard to find sound information.
    2. Some cards (Radeon HD 4870) are designed for the Mac Pro. These have special boxes that indicate Mac compatiblity, and normal box counterparts for the windows market. The cards themselves are identical in every way. Are the normal boxed counterparts actually identical with regard to OS X driver compatibility?
Couldn't find these answers in concrete on recent posts, so perhaps this can shed light to others wanting to upgrade.
    Thanks,
    Graham

Yes you can buy a video card that is designed for windows and use it in your Mac pro, for windows. I did this for a while with mine. The only 4870 that will work with your Mac pro is the one from apple, or a flashed one from eBay. The GPUS are similar the difference is that the Mac card has a larger ROM and uses EFI instead of bios.

  • Upgrade Options for ENVY dv6-7366ez

    Hello.
I bought an ENVY dv6-7366ez notebook and I like to know the upgrade options for it (GPU, CPU, Display, Optical Drive). Here in Hungary I tried to contact with the official Hungarian HP support but they didn't have any information.... They said that the HP HQ don't share any information about it with them, but as i saw that's not true because i see many topics in the forum... Just not for my new/old notebook... So  like to know which CPUs and GPUs are compatible with my notebook and what are the display and optical drive upgrade possibilities.

Page #1 of manusl #1 shows a list of CPU's supported.
You can upgrade RAM to 16Gb and MAY BE able to upgrade CPU. Other than that you may consider buying a new machine, could be cheaper.

  • Video Card Upgrades

I'm looking to either upgrade or augment the vid display card in my (admittedly) older G5. It was my severance pay from my previous employer, and I still haven't been able to find a job, so my financial resources are a tad limited at the moment.
I've seen Nvidia Geforce 6600 128mb on Ebay and I was wonder if it's a suitable replacement for the 64mb card I've currently got. ATI is the manufacturer of the existing card.

Seems like you must have an early G5 but not sure which exact model, but one with AGP 8x.
There are a number of threads of others asking for video card upgrades. And there is a great hardware resource and database:

    I think there is/was a 6800 Ultra also.

  • What video cards are supported for os X?

What video cards are supported for os X? besides the one apple sells.

There is no official list from Apple, since they don't support hardware besides what they will install. YOu can look up support for certain cards, since people have used 3rd party ones. YOu should be able to come up with a particular cards compatability.

I wanted to upgrade my current graphics card which was an NVIDIA GeForce GT 620, the mother board is a H-Joshua-H61-uATX. I recently bought an EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti Superclock. I unistalled the old drivers took out the old card, added the new one and when I started up my PC i would recive 3 beeps and a black screen. I did some research and found out that it may be due to the BIOS. There is no BIOS upgrade I can find and my BIOS vers is AMI 7.11, 4/28/2012. I would appreciate a list or a recommendation of compatable Video cards so I do not have to keep buying and installing these devices or if there is a new BIOS update.

    Hi,
The EVGA 750 will not work with a version 7 BIOS.  Look under Windows 8 for BIOS version 8.19.

  • Video Card Upgrade for HP Pavilion Dv7 2040us

HI My Dv7 2040us has an ATI Radeon 4650 video card. I want to run some new games and I need at least 4860 to run them. I was looking around and it seems I need to get a new card and install it directly to my motherboard. This is all do able for me I just need to know which new card would be compatible with my model of notebook. If anyone knows which one or where I can begin to look for one I would greatly appreciate the info. Thanks!
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi:
The only way you can upgrade the video in your notebook is to replace the entire motherboard with one that has a better video solution.
However, when you look at chapter 3 of the service manual at the link below, you are already at the top of the mark regarding what video chip is on the available motherboards.
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01689926.pdf
So, you will either have to live with the status quo or buy a new notebook.

  • Options for video card upgrade to quad-core G5?

What are my options? I bought the powermac quad-core G5 with the base video card (geoforce 6600); now I want to upgrade, but it seems that one cannot buy the other video cards (e.g. geoforce 7800 or quadro fx 4500) on their own, but only as a package with a new powermac. Do I have any options? The ATI X800 looks great but it is an AGP card and the pmac is PCI

So far I didn't get a card from Apple to upgrade.:-(
But on the Aperturetricks website, Scott says, that I got an upgrade.
    Don't know how.
